Birthday on Cat Day!
Tamaki : Happy Birthday to me, Tamaki Kotatsu! And of course happy national cat day...In Japan! This never happened if the direct would think that Mother 3 was still in Japan! That's still another "Ouch" to me.
Iris : Well I took I Nun cap to reveal this. (cat meows) I got cat ears as well.
Blaze : Well, it is national cat day. But you were born on Feb 22 that is National Cat Day
Iris : And of course! I was born in the spring. And you were born in the winter of 1999.
Blaze : In fact, You are a cat girl this is in early status quota for saying that I have one common thing. How are you still so young in the manga?
Tamaki : Well, the fact is that I turned 17 in Maryland, I have to travel to British Columbia, where I met two of my friends, Noelle and Kohaku. And what kind of powers that the author gave me, the powers of a stinkin' cat! This was the reason that I was born on national cat day in 1999!
Blaze : And you're a cat. Hope you don't have the feline fever.
Tamaki : Uhh, what?
(a group of cats dancing with Jimmy T)
Tamaki : Okay, I am not comfortable with this. But at least my birthday, I'm getting cake for me on cat day.
Yui : Unfortunately, it's the same birthday as us. So we share the birthday on cat day.
Edgeshot : Yeah, it's worth a shot.
Taketora : Sharing the birthday is more often than celebrating one's birthday. And we give ourselves some gift cards to go with that and share some cake.
Blaze : Well, What did you all get for your birthday?
Tamaki : Well I got older I'm already in adulthood, I got a gift card to cheesecake factory at Mall of Columbia in Howard County!
Blaze : But there's a cheesecake factor in Baltimore and Anne Arundel county, and don't forget about the one in Towson
Chai : And there's also a Cheesecake Factory in Bethesda. You can get cake from here at the mall in Montgomery!
Tamaki : Yeah, I Gotta go to the restaurant to get me some cake. See you next Cat day, princess!
Blaze : Why Is it a good idea to celebrate cats in Japan?
Mario : Happy national Cat day in Japan, faggots!
Blaze : (turns and sees Mario in a cat suit) Wow...What...the heck is that?
Mario : This is one of them power ups I use to walk on walls. How come a princess is afraid of water or just you scared of heights or anything.
Blaze : The only reason that I'm afraid of heights, Because I hate Skyfall, which is basically Acrophobia. All cats are afraid of heights!
Tamaki : Come on! Anyone born on Cat day is seriously an underrated feeling.
Black Star : Hey, what about me?
Tamaki : No. You were never born on this national holiday. (Black Stars poofs out of existence)
Honey the Cat : Aw, what? I didn't know he was born on cat day, was he? Heh! Guess not.
[iris out]
[iris in]
Tamaki : So, Shinra. You know that I'm not really a cat person, but I considered to be a feline feminine to your kind.
Shinra : I am so not ready for this kind of crud.
Arthur : When did the last time we had our Cheesecake Factory gift cards?
Iris : About the same.
Shinra : Totally agree.
Tamaki : Just shut it and let's just enjoy our food so we can share my cake for us.
Yui : Feb 22 is always our birthday too, you know. We all share the same birthdays. We get Cheesecake Factory gift cards for free!
Taketora : Yeah! For free!
Tamaki : Yep. That's what I thought you said.
[iris out]
~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EVERYONE ON CAT DAY!~

MHA 2.14 - Bizarre! Gran Torino Appears - part 3
This is my first time watching this show so no spoilers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thought process of a high school boy. Go jumpy jump = be cool. He is such a doofus here. I love him.
Tumblr media
Deku’s parkour game still need a lot of work. Something that I love about shonen anime in general is the time the story gives to training. The hero’s are always shown putting in the hard work to earn their strength.
Tumblr media
Me as f*ck. Every morning of my life as I drag myself out of bed feeling busted. However, Deku’s exhaustion is more valid since he has been hardcore parkour-ing all night long. Who knew that being like a bouncy ball would be the key to being the next #1 hero.
Tumblr media
This had me snickering. I know it is not Gran Tostito’s intention, but my dirty mind cannot help it. I mean, All Might’s big buff body sure is a redeeming feature. And Deku’s face is too funny, like he can’t process All Might having flaws.
Tumblr media
All Might’s predecessor? I NEED TO KNOW MORE RIGHT NOW! MHA loves to tease with little hints and then it makes you wait to find out. People have told me that I have to wait multiple seasons to learn certain things and I am DYING. I better not have to wait too long to get info on the predecessor.
Tumblr media
This is it. His brain finally broke from the pressure. It was only a matter of time. RIP to Deku’s brain. F in the chat for Deku’s broken lil’ noggin. This is what lack of sleep and too much parkour gets you.
Tumblr media
Ha! I have no comments this is just funny as hell. This show has pretty great humor in general. When this show was recommended to me initially I was told that it has fun characters and action, but no one told me that the comedy beats are pure fire.
Tumblr media
Baby is having a breakthrough moment. He has been using OFA like a battering ram, just brute force, which works well for All Might, but it does not suit Deku’s abilities as much.
Tumblr media
I am EXCITE! Deku has so much creative intelligence and I feel like him using OFA more strategically will have amazing results. I cannot wait to see how he develops his quirk if he internalizes the power as his own and develops his personal style. Not just copying All Might.

I don't really have many regrets in my life, but something that I do regret is not reading Undead Unluck a lot sooner than I did...!! 😩
I remember reading the first chapter back in 2021 with my brother and our best friend and it really piqued my interest, just after the first chapter alone...!! But, even though I was interested in it, I didn't get around to reading it... Maybe it's because I was just so focused on one series at the time (Spy × Family) and didn't really want to branch out and start a new series, but then again, I went out of my way to read Burn The Witch (because it's made by Tite Kubo, but it's limited series and hasn't come back yet), Ruri Dragon (but it's been on an indefinite hiatus) & Gokurakugai (but that comes out monthly), so maybe I was just being lazy... 🤷
Anyway, one day, I saw the first trailer for the Undead Unluck anime and I was super excited for it and thought that I'll probably just watch the anime when it comes out. Then, when I saw who was directing the anime, I was immediately worried because it was gonna be the same guy that directed the first season of Fire Force, Yuki Yase...!! Which for me and my brother, we did not like a lot of the choices that he made for the anime adaptation, especially since we are fans of the original manga...! 😤
So at that point, I was determined to read the manga before the anime came out, but I still didn't jump at the chance to read it...! 😅 But, after being constantly recommended different videos about Undead Unluck on YouTube and seeing The L Reads (who I follow here on Tumblr) talk about it, I finally decided to read it in the middle of August 2023, and...:
I WAS IMMEDIATELY HOOKED!!! 😆😆😆
It took me until September 3rd at like 1 o'clock in the morning to finally catch up to the series, and now I'm a huge fan!! 😁 All I really want now for this series is for more people to give it a chance because I think it's one of the best Shonen series that I've ever read...!! So if anyone else is interested in this series, then "Let's Enjoy Life" together...! 💗

Tag Game!!
Thanks for tagging me @starlightbelle
Three ships:
Touya Todoroki/therapy (really everyone in MHA needs that)
Momo/Jirou/Kaminari (why choose when Jirou has two hands)
Raven/Beast Boy (first ever ship, still love them)
Robin/Franky (or Law, depending on how things keep going)
I don't have a ton of favorite ships (and a lot of my favorites are RPG Player Character/Romanceable Companion, which I feel like don't count here), but there are several I do love that aren't listed.
Last film:
One Piece Film: Z
American Psycho (first time watching it)
Currently watching:
Making our way through One Piece (at Dressrosa currently)
Fire Force, really not a fan of all the fan-service elements, but the animation and sound design in this show are incredible so far
Currently reading:
Finally reading through Naruto for my partner. I've been binge reading a bunch of manga this year thanks to the Shonen Jump app, and I've been meaning to actually read it for a while even though I know most of what happens in it. (Also if anyone has manga suggestions, feel free to send them to me!)
Currently consuming:
Watching One Piece while my partner is playing Cyberpunk 2077 on the other TV
Currently craving:
Coffee (always, I'm constantly exhausted and the only thing keeping me alive is spite and caffeine)
Moving to Colorado (I need out of the South)
If anyone sees this and wants to play along feel free to!

Booty booty booty, booty, booty booty booty booty: booty?
Tumblr media
Advent was pretty good and an improvement over ZX.
The plot tried to be more ambitious: the two protagonists are different people and not just gender swaps of each other, there is full voice acting (ZX had it in Japanese), and most importantly Prometheus and Pandora are given more depth: Prometheus’s VA is clearly having the time of his life with him, they’re revealed as being DANs (Doctor Albert Numbers) and to be “centuries” old (apparently created during the Zero era?), but they've rebelled against their cruel master for using them as tools.
I must admit, however, that I struggled to follow it because, well, it still wasn’t as engaging as the (good) plots in the X series or Zero series. I’m sorry, I guess I have very low tolerance for this shonen anime stuff :P
I played with Ashe, because I was warned of a certain meme surrounding her. After I got hit with a dozen “booties” in the span of a few minutes, she’s fine to play as. It takes a little too long IMO for her to get Model A, but I really like her laser gun, it gives a different depth to taking down enemies (although I’m sure some purists hated that it made the “run ‘n’ shoot” gameplay easier :P). I didn’t use the homing attack much, but it is pretty useful against quick onslaughts of enemies.
The map was also improved. First of all, it’s actually readable! But also, the main hub is more compacted and now it actually feels more like a Metroidvania, blocking your way until you get the right powerup. The three elemental gates that you need to open before entering the Oil Fields are maybe the best example. The obstacles are memorable just like they should be in a good Metroidvania.
I liked the levels a lot. Especially later on, they’re complex and require you to think about which of your many powers will be the best suited to solve a puzzle, from using Buckfire’s arrow to shoot a switch at a certain angle, to using Chronoforce’s time slowing power to get through a section, to use Vulturon’s flying power to activate a laser that keeps the spikes down... It’s all very thought out. I guess it’s too early to judge how easy it is to keep the flow, though :P
Oh, and I loved that the Control Center is Slither Inc. but on fire. And it looks like the Floating Ruins are what's left of Area A! Always nice to see continuity like this!
But there are a few things that are more ehh.
First of all, who thought that making you pay to activate portals was a good idea? Sure, at a certain point paying 100 EC per portal is more than affordable, but at first you have to grind - what’s with Inti games and excessive grinding? Zero 3 is maybe the only one without it!
I also don’t understand why they’re one-way. I want to go to an area because I remember an obstacle I can now go through, I teleport there, I find what I’m looking for... but to go back I have to traverse half the zone. Why? Again, backtracking is the bread and butter of Metroidvanias, Metroid games sure don’t have teleporters (except for SR), but I don’t understand the reason of this half-and-half approach!
Another minor nitpick is that the game frequently forces you to revert to Model A: during cutscenes, when you talk to people and when activating a warp point. I understand the first case: the original ZX could afford to have different portraits based on the model you were using because there were only 5 of them, while here you can potentially become a boss as well and the number is overwhelming. Fine, but why do I have to be Model A for the warp point? Yes it's very minor, but you feel the waste of time.
(hilariously, I discovered at the end that your base form also works)
The A-Trans gimmick is... a gimmick. Situational at best. Almost everyone moves at the pace of a snail so you’re not encouraged to use the bosses’ forms in the levels. Buckfire is probably the best one thanks to his speed and very high jump, and he got some mileage in the ice level. Rosespark is for climbing vines, and only that as he moves painfully slowly on land. Chronoforce is for slowing down time (really useful) and swimming if there are too many spikes, but he's enormous and clunky. Vulturon is alright for crossing horizontal gaps. Queenbee can also fly, and in more directions, but her main utility is to lift stuff. Bifrost is just for breaking blocks, and every step you take as him is agony. Hedgeshock is another good one, thanks to her being literally Sonichu Sonic :D Overall, the best thing I can say is that it hints at Model A being what is left of Axl, who poor thing wasn’t even mentioned in the Zero series. (yes the end of the game reveals A as standing for “Albert”. I reject that notion because Axl makes much more sense :P)
There are also the standard models! Model F gained a cool ground pound, Model P has better trajectory and his grabbing ability has been implemented better, Model L is largely the same but with a better animation for swimming (and I loved Model L so I’m not complaining :P) and Model H my double jumping beloved <3 As for Model Z, you get it rather late for some reason, but I understand why: it’s as great as ever, yes please let me break enemies in half with the Kuuenzan, especially the final boss <3
The bosses are once again really cool, although I feel some of them were dumbed down a little compared to ZX. I liked Atlas, fast paced and using Model F’s power rather cleverly. Vulturon’s rockstar persona was unique and made him instantly memorable, and the way it ties to his necromancer gimmick (according to the Database) is very clever. And of course, Prometheus and Pandora stole the show, although they didn’t quite kick my ass as mercilessly as in ZX lol. (although the fact that you can't absorb their DNA is a steal)
Graphically the game is just as good as ZX. My jaw dropped especially at the undersea volcano! Musically... I don't know how to describe the different feeling this OST gives me over ZX's, but it feels different. Still, the list of jams is as long as you'd expect:
Destiny, which sadly I didn't get to experience myself but what an opening banger!
Through the Lightning, more lighthearted and fitting Ashe's personality
Target Chaser, just as epic as previous train themes :P
Drifting Floe, a good companion piece to Ice Brain and Wonder Panorama
In The Wind, a more serious rendition of Green Grass Gradation
Brimstone, great theme for the final stage of the previous game but destroyed
Organic Line, a danceable earworm in every aspect
Oriental Sentinels, super cute forest theme and one of my favorites
Whisper of Relics
Slam Down, which is even better than Rockin’ On! Dat piano bass!
Dive into Depth, mysterious and alluring
Path to the Truth, very very Zero and fitting both the beautiful scenario and the rising stakes
Trap Phantasm, for when Prometheus and Pandora are not playing around
Soul Ablaze, a rocking jam in the same vein as Sigma 1st from X1
Divine Hammer, going for the unsettling and creepy rather than epic
(also, hearing Sky High again at the end filled me with joy <3)
As a bonus, I briefly tried "Mega Man a". It's cute! And I bet that at the time a throwback to the Classic series was even more precious. Hilarious in hindsight when you consider that Inti Creates are the ones who later made Mega Man 9 and 10 :P
So, the overall experience was alright. I appreciate that they fixed the Metroidvania aspects of ZX and made the experience more cohesive. I probably would have done without the A-trans gimmick which just makes navigating through your forms more cumbersome, but other than some nitpicks, I have nothing much to say! It's good.

I wonder with you saying that fire force left less of an impact on the "fandom" then expected, if it isnt because it seems discussion gets even more centralised on a few big series than before? Maybe it is just an illusion of the internet changing, but I felt that it was weird that even being relativly succesful, there was basically just one channel on youtube making fire force "content". But things like One Piece get nonstop theory and discussion vids. Maybe that was allways the case.
And a lot of my reaction owes to my America-centered bias, where social media is right now, this current era of anime distribution, and Shueisha’s Jump brand still having such a hold on shonen.
I sit here, in the United States, looking at Fire Force right now, and thinking it hasn’t had as big an impact as I would expect or reach some standard I think it should reach–while in Japan I have little to no idea how popular it really is.
And some of that owes to where my attention is directed. I tend to stick to social media from the United States, and whereas Tumblr still has a sizable Soul Eater fandom (not as big as before–more on that in a moment), I just don’t see that same size for the Fire Force fandom on Tumblr. But if I look at Japanese social media on Twitter and PixIv, there is a lot of Fire Force content, where the series seems popular enough, maybe not as much as other series (more on the Jump brand in a moment).
Current anime distribution is also a factor. Soul Eater has had longevity, if in part because it was a slow drip of access. You had the series in Japan, it took time to get the series a home video distribution in the United States, along with a dub, then it took even longer for Toonami to come back to Cartoon Network and then some time for Soul Eater to air on the programming block. That is a marathon, as opposed to Fire Force, which is having to run a sprint–and the competition includes so much more content than before, thanks in part to streaming but also which other companies make up a sizable portion of the market (again, more on Jump in a moment). In any season, your favorite anime is always in competition with so many other shows, and not all of them are going to be distributed in the United States (the shrinking of distribution companies, thanks to the Crunchyroll and Funimation merger is part of it). If Fire Force comes out in a season, and there are other anime competing for attention, even ones outside of its genres or age group, those anime may dominate the discussion.
And even as I expect that the ending to Fire Force is going to get the same large reaction on social media, as will the twist showing the real world (and however the anime choses to stage it), it’s probably going to be a short-lived reaction, just as it was for the manga. The manga had the major surprise of being confirmed as a Soul Eater prequel, it got a month or two of attention (both as it was happening with chapters strongly hinting at it but not yet outright confirming until the last one or two chapters)--then it has largely faded from attention. I expect the anime will come out, there will be the shock about the real world, the shock about being a Soul Eater prequel, maybe an announcement of a new Soul Eater anime–and then probably dead air (no pun intended) for four months, at which point we can come back and see whether Fire Force really has lasting power or is just a major twist ending and a half-baked screed against religion.
Finally, we have what I think is the major competition from Shueisha’s Jump. The publisher of Fire Force, Kodansha, has a major hold on the market in Japan–but from where I sit in the United States, I’m being limited in what I see, and it’s largely Jump that gets all the attention when it comes to shonen. You point out that discussion gets centralized, and I think marketing and audience appeal has a lot to do with it. My Hero Academia and One Piece are still getting a lot of the attention. Other big shone series out of Jump, too, get all the attention. The merchandise, tie-ins, and promotions are typically for Dragon Ball and now the return of Bleach. I don’t see that same push for Fire Force and a lot of other shonen series. Granted, even Jump has its shonen that don’t get as much attention (Blue Exorcist), but they also now have one of the biggest anime of the year, Spy x Family. You’re right about something like One Piece getting so many theory and discussion videos, and I would add My Hero Academia as another one. But Fire Force never got that same attention–I think perhaps because it feels like Fire Force followed a linear inevitable path, where even as I kept insisting, “Please tell me this isn’t going to be some Soul Eater prequel,” it took that path, regardless how boring and destructive that was. At least with One Piece and MHA, there is suspense and legitimate surprise; I didn’t get that from Fire Force, I just got dread at what was coming.

Scrap Anime Series Idea Stockpile (Collection 2)
Here are some more ideas for potential new anime series both in long/continuing and short/near-OVA/ONA (Original Video Animation/Original Net Animation) form!
My question to you, is, which of the following has the most potential that would be deserving to be seen on television or online?
Hash it out in the comments below which ideas jump out at you the most and seem like they'd be fun to see.
1) Aura of Infinity - In this dark, tragic yet heartwarming josei/seinen story, a young male-to-female trans lady named Aura Nagai lives with an abusive mother, father and sisters who descend from a group of followers of a paleoconservative extremist religious sect of Mahikari. Already shunned and looked at with suspicion by others in her family as well as her school peers, it is through Aura still demonstrating her kind heart that a Shinigami by the name of Izumi becomes Aura's Kami Godmother and grants her the powers and skills to become a Grim Reaper. Together, Aura and Izumi serve as partners in defending worthy humans from evil spirits and hunting down all the truly evil souls so they can be judged by kindly King Yama of the Afterlife. Even as the powers start destroying her sanity and body, Aura as a Reaper is determined to leave enough of a legacy freeing her from her family's tyranny for true friends.
2) Cross Coil Chisato - In this bishonen/bishojo magical girl series, a young girl from a rotten family named Chisato happens across a magical coil bracelet watch that lets her change form into anything she can think of and need by shouting "Cross Coil!". Sometimes her jaunts with transformation into other people/beings with their knowledge, powers and skills passed onto her are simply for fun and escape from her family to do something nice for her few friends in the know of her secret. At other times, innocent lives are on the line as she must remain one step ahead of the world authorities and the powers who seek the Cross Coil to either destroy or take control of the world. Only Chisato and her friends can learn to use the Cross Coil with wisdom and care to balance out the powerful energies it emits - but the need to protect it will soon force Chisato to go on the run and finally free herself from her past for all new chapters.
3) Electric Warriors Aesir - In this bishojo/josei fantasy isekai sentai series, the mysterious video game and consumer electronics developer Aesir sends out seven rainbow discs which are then picked up by seven girls curious about them and what they could do with running a disc on their own game systems or personal computers. Digitized into cyberspace Tron style, the girls find they have gained powers in both cyberspace and the real world to protect them both from the viruses of Ragnarok. Through their ups and downs of friendship and battling to make and protect new worlds for strangers online, these seven girls form an order of knight princesses who are look stylish and cute while tough under fire. They are the Electric Warriors of Aesir formed from one Opera Yellow (3DO coalition), Leona Red (Atari), Siri Pink (Apple), Cortana Green (Microsoft), Revol White (Nintendo), Dural Blue (Sega) and Neo Black (Sony).
4) Guen Takada, HSPI (High School Private Investigators) - The high school comedy hijinks of Azumanga Daioh and the increasingly incredulous detective mysteries of Detective Conan (Case Closed) crossed with the teen drama of Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why? What's not to like? She forms the Roppongi High Private Eyes Agency with her group of friends who are a rotating set of partners who fill the regular high school social roles - academic athlete, a duo of preppy straight woman and slacker wise girl, innocent space case, intimidating shrinking violet, and a secret admirer of the shrinking violet. From drug busts, missing mascots and even a suicide; the RHPIs can cover it for you.
5) Inch-Son and the Magic Hammer - The bishonen/shonen epic inspired by the fairy tale of Issun-bōshi, the childless old governor of Kumamoto and his wife make a passing prayer for the Three Gods of the Sea for a child. The three sea gods in conference with their mentor the Empress Jingū decide to answer the couple's prayer and bless them with a child about an inch high whom they name Inch Son. One day, Inch Son decides to leave home and set out for the capital Tokyo to become a warrior defending the weak and advising both the Emperor and or Prime Minister so his family can avoid destitution. At the start of his journey, he uses objects his size to overcome different obstacles, including using his size to defeat a voracious psycho from the inside so he can save a girl. With her children hospitalized and husband murdered, a burning rage simmers in Katsumi as she plans to enact her vigilante justice by causing the syndicates' war to boil over. With the help of a comrade of hers from the JASDF infiltrating the syndicates, Katsumi wages unconventional warfare upon the family bosses by planting evidence that their underlings are plotting to betray them. With her new "employers" wound up, she gets them vulnerable to offing each other while she also makes time to help innocents who have been done wrong by police on a syndicate's payrolls.
7) 108 Pearls Of Twelve Knights - In this shonen harem action isekai series, a young boy gets a shock when he discovers he is actually a young prince spirited away from the Genpei War of the Kamakura Period. This boy, Makito, is rescued from a posse of Yukaza by an onna-musha (female Samurai) named Zuina who takes him back through a portal in a sacred onsen for his own time to their ruined kingdom. The evil Daishogun Watarou has been seeking the powers of Shinigami and the storm god Susanoo to conquer the lands he has ravaged, and Watarou's rise can only be countered by the 108 pearls of Amaterasu herself. Makito is brought back to Zuina's Order of the Eleven, a motley group of female Samurai including herself who chose to join together to get Makito back and liberate their lands. Together, they shall overcome many obstacles to obtain the pearls to grant each possessor nine wishes and defeat evil Watarou.
8) Pathfinder Super Dimension Armada - In this josei/seinen mecha/military science fiction series being a spiritual continuation of Tatsunoko and Big West Advertising's joint venture in making the Super Dimension trilogy of programs some of which got adapted as Robotech by Harmony Gold, fleets of giant space arks set out from Earth and the Solar System to seek out and terraform new worlds for colonization. Captain Kiana (Quiana) Photon leads Pathfinder's Pioneer Ranger Corps in protecting planetary landing parties as well as leading defense of the mother ship and attacks on enemy forces in humanoid Star Fighter mechas. But Kiana must pull everyone together to stand against forces of the Krona Patriarchy - an empire built on the suffering of all women and nonbinary slaves.
9) Rescue Me From My Family - In this dark josei/seinen story, a spotlight is shone on family abuse and the use of online technology to save lives whereby battered kids and sympathetic guardians can find an escape to better lives. Noriko Kawada, an ex-domestic abuse survivor in her own right, managed to serve in the JASDF and then become a relief pilot for the National Rescue Aid Society as we follow her on what appears to be yet another mission - sneak into a village near Rokkasho and smuggle a young femboy to freedom out from under the heels of his intolerant and psychotic parents. She takes off aboard her NRAS-operated Boeing 727 up to Aomori where her contact waits to help her spring the boy Mitsuru Kitano out. In doing so, they trigger a cult of angry extremist Mahikari determined to sacrifice him and other kids for their sins - and Noriko realizes she is going to make quite a mess if the kids are to be rescued.
10) Tactical Witches - In this new installment of Fumikane Shimada's military science fiction World Witches series, we follow the 555th Joint Fighter Wing stationed in Diamond Bay just in between Fuso and Liberion to protect the Aloha islands against Neuroi. Dispatched to help whip the 555th into shape, Akira Matsura of the Fuso Imperial Navy has to team with Jenny Doolittle of the Liberion Army Air Force in building up a fighter wing capable of protecting a series of fighter and bomber convoys to take out both Neuroi hives encroaching on Asia and the North and South American continents as well as radical fascistic terrorist movements all plotting to overthrow the League of Nations and all who champion democracy. What they do not expect, however, is a Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant who after being shown up by many women being more capable fighters is about to go Section 8 and become worse than Neuroi.
11) Voyage of the Galactic Railroad - Inspired by the novel by Kenji Miyazawa, this combo of shojo/shonen follows the eleven Miyazawa siblings (six boys, five girls) who join up with the Allied Galactic Railways' crew of train number 8444 - the Starway Limited - en route across known galaxies to search for the meaning of life. This comes as the Miyazawas themselves in the course of their odyssey that they are some of the last remnants of humanity in space with the Earth being destroyed by the Earth's ruling corporate classes pulling a Samson gambit to wipe out their enemies in the working and middle classes trying to topple their tyranny via all the thermonuclear weapons being hijacked. As the Miyazawas search for their parents while trying to be representatives and protectors of humanity and other endangered species, tight bonds are formed with the crew of the Starway Limited and its own engine numbered 8444.
12) Xeno Precinct - Imagine the high school dramedy of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and the speculative fiction (fantasy/horror/monster/mystery/science fiction) anthologies of say The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits along with cop shows like Starsky and Hutch. In a large metropolitan Japanese public high school, this josei/seinen drama follows a team of six boys and five girls who with the help of their teachers investigate the paranormal happenings and protect their city from horrors and invaders across spacetime. But whenever their club - the Xeno Precinct meets on Friday nights, they make sure to don black sunglasses and black pantsuits with white dress shirts before picking up the equipment to track down, scout out or eliminate any threats coming Earth's way. They do this as a way to keep the school funded for the next years or so by taking on service fees for keeping students safe from galactic psychos.
13) Zeo Amazon Electra - In this epic josei/seinen military science fiction mecha story, our Solar System is under the cruel grasp of the Solar Victors' Alliance with one planet and all its moons daring to fight back in pursuit of independence. A suicidal orphan girl named Naharu uncovers and bonds with a humanoid combat vehicle called a Zeo Amazon. This one, Electra, is one of the Pleiades - seven historic Zeo Amazons who once were the keepers of justice and peace in the Solar System's early days of colonization. Together with the Europa Vox forces, Naharu and Electra wage a campaign of terror on various colonies and outposts of the Victors in hopes of rescuing others who could bond with the six other sister Zeo Amazons to reform the Pleiades. Over the course of the war, however, Naharu finds she has a stalker in the Solar Victors' ace combat pilot Junpei Heracles who sees a dark future if the Pleiades ever return.

Just finished Dirge of Cerberus - Final Fantasy VII.
I dunno how to describe it. First thing I'll say is that it's nowhere near as bad as people say it is. But it isn't some masterpiece. A hidden gem? Not really. But it's still a worthwhile experience. Spoilers ahead I guess? For the few people who plan on playing it.
Gameplay
The gameplay way surprisingly fine? The default aim sensitivity is too low but that's really the only issue. Mechanically, it's mostly solid aside from a few strange decisions. The gun customization aspect was actually a lot of fun, changing your barrels and accessories out for each weapon as you play, adapting to new enemies, it's all a good time, and a neat way to incorporate jrpg mechanics. Slotting materia into your guns and using magic that functions akin to a grenade launcher? That's awesome! I'd love to have seen more of that, like a fire materia that allows you to use a flamethrower, or some healing material that rexovers your health when you damage the enemy. The magic is a lot of fun to use, although it's unfortunately limited by an MP bar that's a bit too stingy. If the controls are mostly fine, and the character building is cool, what's left? Level design.
The level design seems to be the main issue, enemies are often out of view, or just plain hard to find. When you get shot, the game will tell you where from, but only horizontally, so theres no way to tell where enemies are, if they're on the ground, on a rooftop ten miles away, or in a house. this results in you getting shot and standing there for ten seconds trying to find out where those bulletholes in your chest are coming from. It feels like the game can't decide if it wants you to be constantly moving, or if it wants you to use cover and slowly pick off enemies from a distance.
The game has a dash mechanic (originally a dodge roll in the JP release) that allows you to quickly dash in one direction, but it isn't too useful as a method of quick traversal, because it has a long cooldown. It also isn't very good for dodging, because it has little to no invincibility frames. In terms of other movement options, theres a double jump, but it proves to be mostly useless. There's a frustrating amount of invisible walls that prevent you from jumping over small obstacles and onto small boxes and various things. It might as well not even exist. So are you supposed to stay put and shoot enemies from behind cover? Not really. The game loves to put you in an arena with enemies from literally ALL sides. There won't be any safe zone. Beyond that issue, there's also the fact that there is no grace period for anything. You can get stunlucked pretty easily by certain enemytypes, and that doesn't combine well with getting hit from places you can't see by enemies you can't see. You will be getting shot from multiple directions, from multiple people, while you're trying to zoom in with your scope to take out the enemies who are sniping you! You're pretty much forced to facetank a lot of attacks in this game. Strangely enough, this doesn't really ever become an issue because the game is incredibly forgiving with healing items, free revivals with phoenix downs, etc. Even on hard mode, it's hardly an issue.
Story
Cutscenes? They're good, mostly. They drag on a bit too long at times, but they're enjoyable nontheless.. The action scenes feel like a combination of a early 2000's action movie and a Shonen anime. There's one cutscene in particular that I just absolutely love, the death scene of Shalua. A great concept executed well, and manages to be surprisingly emotional for a scene between two brand new characters.
The characters in this game are good as well! Vincent is characterized well enough, he has a few lines that are overly edgy and silly, but throughout most of the game, he's as you'd expect him to be. I respect how the game rarely shows Cloud. It helps cement that Cloud's story is over, this is Vincent's adventure. A large part of the plot revolves around Shalua, a new character. She's surprisingly enjoyable as a character. It's a familiar character concept, the idea of a person who's never felt love/connection and therefore doesn't understand the value of it. It's nothing too unique, but it's executed well here, and I did end up caring for her in the end. Plus, Vincent acting as a caretaker figure for her is really cute.
The new stuff this game introduces to the lore of the world is mostly just kinda... Fine? Like the whole Chaos and Omega thing is actually a cool concept, but the way it's handled here makes it seem mostly unnecessary. DeepGround is similar, where the idea of it is actually rather interesting, but it's never explained to a satisfying degree. I'm not usually one to get caught up on the specifics in story, I find that nitpicking stuff like that is pedantic and a massive waste of time, but I can't help but wonder the entire game. Is DeepGround connected to Sephiroth? Who's Weiss and why is he so significant beyond being some kind of super soldier? Is DeepGround connected to Vincent? One would assume all of the human experimentation projects from Shinra would be connected in some sense, but it's never discussed in game. It's not a big deal, but it does leave a feel of dissatisfaction. My biggest issue with the new stuff is the whole Hojo thing at the end. All this stuff with uploading his mind to the network, the plan to use Omega... It all feels so unnecessary. There's no real reason for him to show up beyond Hojo being the bad guy in Vincents story, but that part of his story was already finished up in FF7 itself. There was no need to drag him back from the dead to die again minutes later. It just takes away from the strength of the original scene.
Why even play this game?
From everything I've said, the game doesn't sound like it's anything special really. A janky and poorly designed shooter from 2006, it's hardly special in that regard. FF superfans might enjoy the references to 7, and seeing a new interpretation of that world, but there has to be more to this game than that, right?
It's the atmosphere, strangely enough. Exploring the ruins and wreckages of Midgar, the destroyed and empty city streets of Kalm and Edge, and the surprisingly somber and atmospheric soundtrack. Taking out all the enemies in an area results in an empty, quiet space for you to inhabit before you move on. Change your equipment, use some items, explore for pickups, or even just try to find the way forward, and take it the environment. The stages this felt the best in were Edge, Shinra Manor, and Shinra tower. Old decrepit areas, void of life, nothing to see except yourself and the remnants of something that once was. Was this intentional on the part of the developers? I can't say for certain, but I don't think that matters. The somber exploration feels unique and it fits the game pretty well. Wandering dark PS2 city streets, a surprisingly beautiful song playing in the background... it's hard to really describe why it's so striking to me.
youtube
There's just something special about it. It's an all around strange game, it's really damn close to being a genuinely great time, but it's got too many blatant design flaws. I hope Square revisits it someday, although I don't expect they ever will, besides covering some plotpoints in Ever Crisis or 7R.
Regardless of what I've said, if anything about this game interests you, please try it. It's unique at the very least. If you don't check it out? Thanks for reading anyways. I wrote this all just so I could get my thoughts out there. I wouldn't really call this a review with how rough it is, but I'm glad to get my thoughts out at least lol. Thanks again.

Son of the Ink Demon Preview 2 ~
"Real World AU has been the most important place where humans and fictional characters co-exists, the real world itself is also a universe to itself and Unlike the Ohkuboverse, it feels like that the place is connected to the Shadow Realm, and I bet it was all just a cover up for Demon Vibe's long life dream of galactic conquest."
"But not like the rest of Real World AU, the only place to live in this one place I'd like about very much it's a place called Emmitsburg and it's right located in Frederick, the northernmost county in a state called Maryland."
"My name is Tamaki Kotatsu, I was born at Tokyo in the year 1999 before my parents got rid of me by abandoning me in the state at age 4 in 2002."
"Here's one thing that they don't know about me, I was the kid that never got back to Japan and I never got to go to grade school. Founded and raised by Nuns called the Sisters of Emmitsburg that worships at the National Shrine and spent my days and nights as a little orphan nun and well as a casual person to help me do some academics and give my blessings to make people believe in their selve Real World's creator God himself."
"But then on my 13th Birthday, my Pyrokinetic powers were brought back by blowing up a silo in Middletown Valley, luckily I survived and went on to my long rejuvenation."
"So at the age of 15, I finally stopped the resurrection of King of the Ink Demons himself, the father of the toon Bendy with the help of the heroes and son of Inky Albarn herself. Everything went well and peace has been restored. That is until when i turned 17... everything changed when I met a mysterious demon made of ink."
Tamaki : Huh? Hello? Who's there? Anybody in here? Hey, what's that?
Inky : Uhhh, Hello, birthday girl.
Tamaki : (screams in horror)
*Inferno by Hiroyuki Sawano plays*
From Maguro13-2 : Creator of Miku.EXE and Origins of the Ink Demon"
Tamaki : Who are you and how did you get here?!
Inky Jr. : I am Inky Jr, the son of the Ink Demon. And Inky Albarn is my mother.
Tamaki : Your mother!?
"Meet son of the Ink Demon himself!"
Inky Jr : With your help of finding mother, I will become the next King of the Ink Demons, and Victory shall be mine!
"Prepare for a wild and inky journey!
Tamaki : So with your help, we can go on a journey to find your mother. But there's more where that came from. I got so many friends to help me out! And they will help you too!
Inky Jr : Friends are those is what you called are indeed of help, they bring efforts to teamwork in order to join our journey to restore the Royal Bloodline."
"To find the demon's mother!"
Haumea : So you're having trouble with the Ink Demon finding his mommy, you'll never find out about the Ohkuboverse's dark secrets.
Shinra : We'll see about that!
"Inkify to fight against the forces of true evil."
Sammy Lawrence : With the help of us, we can uncover the Ohkuboverse's lies from Demon Vibe and put an end to his dream of conquest for good riddance!
"And uncover the secrets of the Ohkuboverse."
Tamaki : If the Ohkuboverse is really a facade, can this be Shadow Realm?
Maka : Then what kind of universe have we been living in!?
Demon Vibe : Nice to see you all, prisoners of the Ohkuboverse!
Inky Albarn : Please, Jr. I beg to you save me! PLEASE, I BEG OF YOUUUU!
Inky : MOTHEEEEEER!!!
"SON OF THE INK DEMON"
Tamaki : Come on, Inky. Let's go on a journey.
Inky : ....?
Tamaki : A journey to find your mother now, let's show the real world what it means to be a demon.

Rating the anime I’ve watched (and rewatched) during quarantine!
Hi everyone, I hope you are all safe and healthy! I’ve been watching a a few animes while in quarantine so I figured I’d share some of my thoughts about the ones i watched! These are all just personal opinion and taste but I hope you enjoy! If you have any other anime recs for me please comment them, I got some really good ones from my last post here!
Demon Slayer, Rating 10/10
Tumblr media
I really loved this one. Technically I started it before quarantine but I did finish it while in quarantine so I’m adding it to this list. I know this anime has so much hype surrounding it and honestly I think it lives up to its hype. It’s filled with action and intrigue and has a really awesome characters. I’m sad that the movie got put on hold bc of COVID but I’m sure it will also be fantastic. I really recommend this one, a solid 10/10 from me.
Fruits Basket S2 (2020) On-going, but so far Rating 10/10
Tumblr media
I may be a little bias with this one bc I love fruits basket but so far season 2 has far exceed my expectations! I’m really glad that they came back for a season 2. This season has simultaneous made me so freaking happy, but then ready to ball my eyes out, sometimes even in the same episode. If you haven’t watched this anime yet, I high recommend.
Hunter x Hunter (2011), Rating: 10000/10
Tumblr media
SO as you can see above, I really loved hunter x hunter. It made it’s way onto my favourites list almost immediately with its loveable characters and really interesting storyline. The friendship between Killua and Gon was one of the sweetest things I’ve seen in anime and the rest of the characters were just as entertaining. The only downside of this anime for me was that there wasn’t more episodes.
Naruto, Rating 100/10
Tumblr media
This one was a rewatch for me and it was as fantastic as I remember. When I watched Naruto for the first time I never actually finished shippuden for some reason but now I’ve finally seen it all and I loved it. The characters are really what made this show super enjoyable for me (and the fact that its about ninjas bc thats cool af). All in all, I would recommend naruto to anyone willing to commit to over 700 episodes, and trust me its worth it.
Fire Force, Rating 8/10*
Tumblr media
Okay this one has been all over my dashboard and fyp so I knew I had to give it a watch. I really enjoyed the fight scenes in this anime and the storyline was also really intriguing. I’m still watching this one but I wanted to include it anyway!
Hiiro No Kakera, Rating 5/10
Tumblr media
Okay so at one point during quarantine, I really just wanted to watch shoujo anime so I decided to give this one a try bc I didn’t really know anything about it. Honestly, I didn’t really love it. The plot was interesting but the fight scenes were kinda subpar and over in like 3 seconds (even tho ik its shoujo and the fight scenes shouldn't really be my main focus). I didn’t really love any of the characters and I think that may have been why I didn’t rank this one very high and the romance was kinda eh. Overall, it was not terrible but definitely did not make it onto my list of favourites.
Given, Rating 10/10
Tumblr media
Another popular anime all over my dash and fyp I knew I had to watch and it did not disappoint. This anime was so sweet and heart breaking. The LGBTQ+ representation in this anime was really nice to see and I genuinely enjoyed watching all of the romances unfold. Also for anyone who watched this, Mafuyu’s song broke me. I watched this anime all in one sitting so if you are looking for a fantastic short anime, I highly recommend.
Vampire Knight, Rating 7/10
Tumblr media
This one was also included in my shoujo binge. Honestly, I enjoyed this one. The plot was generic and kinda predictable but tbh I think I mostly gave this a higher rating for Zero. I am so weak for the grouchy troubled characters who are also hella caring. Yuki and Zero’s relationship was what made me enjoy this anime as much as I did but the rest of it was kinda uninteresting. Cross was also hilarious and I really enjoyed his character.
