Mini-review:

Wow, this was one hard watch. First of all, it needs to be said that this show features some pretty extreme bullying scenes, so if that's a trigger for you, it's best to avoid this drama altogether.

I'm really glad all the episodes were shorter than an hour, cause it made it feel like the episodes were over really quickly. The pace is pretty much perfect, even if it definitely feels like most of this first half was just a setup for what's coming next. It's also very well directed, and the cast is great too (but the MVPs are actually Shin Ye Eun and Jung Ji So, who play the younger versions of the leads). I did expect it to be a bit more intense overall, but I think that's what we'll get in Part 2, and it got me hooked from the first episode anyway. God, I really hope the lead character gets to enact her revenge, cause it's going to be so satisfaying.

I’d definitely say this drama is more geared for those who are a fan of Ateez or SF9. That’s not to say this isn’t a good drama. For me it’s just sorta like a ‘meh’. It’s predictable, cheesy, chemistry isn’t particularly there for the leads, and the storyline has been done a thousand times, if not better (Dream High). Again I’m not saying this isn’t any good it’s just ‘meh’.

Sırada ilk beşime giren şahane bir dizi var. Neresinden anlatmaya başlayacağımı bilemedim. Park Bo-Young ile başlayabilirim. Bu dizide kendisin, daha da olgunlaşmış, oyunculuğu daha da oturmuş, sevimli kısımlarını kaybetmeden üstüne koymuş, mutlu oldum. Oyuncu Seo In-Guk ile bu dizide tanıştık. Yakışıklı olduğunu düşünmüyorum ama oyunculuğu muazzamdı. Tam karakterin adamı olmuş diyebilirim. Karizması parıl parıl parlıyordu.

Dizinin çıkış noktasına bayıldım. Hikaye kurgusu ve metaforlar o kadar güzel izleyiciye geçiyordu ki, rahatlıkla dizinin ilk 5’ime girdiğini söyleyebilirim. Hikayesi karanlık bir havaya sahip ve örgüsü kaostan besleniyor. Enfesti.

Konusuna gelecek olursam; Myeol Mang ( Seo In Guk ):  Yok olmak isteyen ancak ölemeyen yıkım tanrısıdır. Her kararı, her davranışı çevresine yıkım getirirken; bütün sonlardan, yok oluştan, karanlıktan ve kötülükten de o sorumludur. Dünyanın varoluşundan beri yaşamaktadır ve dünya var oldukça o da var olmaya devam edecektir. İnsanların birbirine olan nefreti, kini, entrikaları, kendilerinin aç gözlülükleri, bencillikleri yani insanlığın çirkin yüzü ona kurtarılmaya değer bir şey olmadığını tekrar tekrar hatırlatmaktadır. Kendisi kötü değildir, sadece bütün kötülüklerden sorumludur. Yılda bir kez, dünyanın var oluş gününde, insanlardan birinin bir dileğini yerine getirmesi istenir.

O gün geldiğinde ise, Tak Dong Kyung ( Park Bo Young ) ile tanışır. Tak Dong Kyung hikayenin başında 3 aylık ömrü kaldığını öğrenmiş genç bir editördür. Anne babasını küçük yaşta kaybetmiş, kardeşine bakmaktadır. Ailesinin ölüm yıldönümü olduğu gün, erkek arkadaşının da evli olduğunu öğrenir. O akşam ailesini anmak için bir pasta alır, sarhoş olur ve mumları üflerken ‘bütün dünya yok olsun, yıkım gelsin’ diye bağırarak dilek tutar.

İnsanların istekleri arasında gerçekten biri onu çağırmıştır, yıkımı (Myeol Mung’ı). Bu iki taraf içinde mükemmel bir plandır. Tak Dong Kyung kalan günlerini acısız geçirecek, dünyadaki işlerini tamamlayacak, öleceği gün ise dilek hakkını dünyanın sonu gelmesi için kullanacaktır. Sözünden caymaması için, anlaşmayı bozması durumunda onun yerine dünyada en sevdiği kişi ölecektir.

Hikayenin bir noktasında kelimenin tam anlamıyla “dişi tanrı” anlamına gelen Sonyeoshin ( Jung Ji So ) adında hasta bir kız karşımıza çıkıyor. Myeol Mung nasıl ölümü simgeliyor ise, Sonyeoshin hayatı simgelemektedir. Biri fiziksel olarak diğeri ise duygusal olarak acı çekiyor. Dünyanın bahçe, insanların çiçek, tanrıların kelebek olarak tasvir edilmesi çok ince düşünülmüş bir detaydı.

Tak Dong Kyung ne yaptığını kavrayıp vazgeçmek istemesi ama bunu yaparsa en sevdiği insanın ölümüne neden olacağını bilmesi kusursuz bir kapandı. Sonuç olarak ise Myeol Mung’a ‘eğer dünyadaki en sevdiğim insan sen olursan, dünya yıkılmasa bile ölecek olan sen olursun’ diyerek onu sevmenin yollarını aramaya başlaması kalp kıran ama en mantıklı çözümdü.

Başrol gibi gösterilse bile diğer bütün karakterler yan roldeydi. Onların hikayeleri hiç ön plana çıkamadı. Buna rağmen yazar olan kızımız Na Ji-Na(Shin Do-Hyun) , eski sevgilisi Lee Hyun-Kyu (Kang Tae-Oh)  ve editör Cha Joo-Ik( Lee Soo-Hyuk ) ile yaşadığı aşk üçgeni, aralarında geçen diyaloglar hem karizmatik hem de zekice yazılmıştı. Kendini keşfetme, duygularını anlama üzerine kısa ve tatlı yolculuklara tanık olduk. Ayrıca Lee Soo-Hyuk’un karizmatik oyunculuğu da dikkatleri üzerine çekiyordu. Aynı karizmasıyla şimdilerde Tomorrow dizisinde karışımıza çıktı. Ve Kang Tae-Oh ile tanıştığımıza da memnun oldum. Onu da şuan herkes Extraordinary attorney Woo dizisinden tanıyacaktır.

Ve evet sonuç olarak, eğer planı istediği gibi gider Myeol Mung’a aşık olursa, dünya da en sevdiği kişiyi dünya için feda edecek olması bizi yerden yere vuracak. İmkansız bir aşk ve seçimlerle dolu, oyunculukların göz doldurduğu bir diziydi. Açıkçası rahatsız olduğum tek bir şey vardı; dizinin sonu.

Kdramaların son yapmayı beceremediğine birçok insanla hem fikir olsam da, bu kadar beğendiğim yapımlarda tekrar üzüyorum. Dizi 14.bölümde bitmeliydi. Bence epic bir final olurdu. Son iki bölüm kimse kırılmasın, cenin pozisyonunda yatakta ağlamasın diye yapılmıştı. 14. Bölümde hüngür şakır ağlaya ağlaya bitseydi, biterdi.

Yorumlara baktığımda diziyi birkaç bölüm sonra bırakanlar olmuş. Hikaye havada kalmış, kopuk olmuş diyorlar. Hiç katılmıyorum. Tamamını izlemeden yorum yapılmasına da karşıyım. Olumsuz yorum yapacaksanız bile neye yorum yaptığınızı bilmelisiniz. Ben sonunu biraz zorlama buldum ama dizi fantastik bir diziydi, sonunda da istedikleri gibi fantezi yapmaları garipsenecek bir durum değil. Diziyi izlerken yapılan metaforları fark edebilirseniz, satır aralarını okuyabiliyorsanız, çok fazla anlatılmaya çalışılmış mevzu olduğunu görebilirsiniz. Hayat kısa, düşündüklerini söylemezsen düşünmediğin bir hayat yaşarsın gibi ince ince dertleri olan ve bu dertleri dizide gözümüze sokmadan anlatan bir yapımdı.

Mini-review:

What a satisfying ending! The show certainly didn't pull any punches in this second and final part. It was even more intense than the first half, and it kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I loved seeing how the pieces fell into place one after the other, and I think the writer did a great job when building the plot and its structure. The whole cast also continued to do a great job. Pretty much every actor had at least one showy scene, but the MVP this time was Yeom Hye Ran. She's always excellent, but this was easily one of the best roles of her career.

Anyway, while it does feel like the ending builds towards a possible second season/part 3, I don't think it would be necessary. The way it is, it gives the audience a chance to imagine what happens afterwards, although the answer is pretty clear IMHO. I hope they don't add more episodes, cause these two parts tell a great standalone story.

There's something so selfless about the way in which Ji Hyuk is in love with Jiwon. It feels closer to devotion and worship than the usual romantic love. For me, its all in the eyes. The way he looks at her. My God. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I know you. I want to know you more. I am drawn to you. I cannot stop. I am so sorry I let you slip away the first time. Never again. Nothing matters more to me than you. My nightmares are made of being separated from you but your happiness matters more to me than my fear. But. If you say I am your happiness. Then I am yours. Let me save you. Oh? You want to save yourself? Then, at least, let me be the solid land you stand on. I love you so much I am content just looking at you. Even if my eyes give me away. I am content just being around you. Everything I do and everything I am, yours.

I think that is the purest, almost unattainable form of love. Maybe that is why it took two lifetimes to get it right. To want someone so much that you would do something so counterintuitive and difficult so as to hold yourself back. She is his whole world. And yet, he was willing to let her go.

I am in love with you. It goes on and on and on and it never goes away.

This had so much potential to be really great and it only became a ho hum drama in my opinion. It did start off with a bang though, I thought the first five episodes were perfectly executed and I was like woo hoo this is going to be awesome and from then on it just stayed to be a mediocre drama. I don’t know if for me it was the too much ambiguous storylines that kept getting more complicated as the story led on or if it was the unnecessary ones. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love Lee Soo Hyuk and will definitely watch whatever he’s in, but oh his love storyline/love triangle felt so disjointed from everything I skipped forward through some of it. On a upside the ost (music) in this is absolutely beautiful. I mean this still is a very watchable drama. Unfortunately a very big let down too.
