Happy birthday to Junichi Kanemaru, a Japanese voice actor (seiyuu) known for voicing Sonic the Hedgehog himself (for almost 25 years ago) since the original 1998 release of Sonic Adventure on the Sega Dreamcast! 🦔 🌀 👟
This- THIS! This is how you do a scream of absolute rage and sheer determination while being ripped apart inside by cyber corruption.
Roger's voice acting and the direction was IMMENSELY better in Frontiers, so much so that I actually finally enjoyed Roger's voice as Sonic. But Roger, I'm sorry- you are just. a really. LOUSY. screamer.
what if they included a feature (in sonic frontiers) where in the settings you can switch Sonic’s English voice to be either the original audio with roger, or junichi (Sonic’s Japanese voice actor) fully speaking in English
Netflix Drop 01: Sonic Prime | Tuesday, 09.26.2023
Tomorrow, I'm watching that upcoming Netflix Drop 01 livestream on YouTube just so I can tune in more on what's to come when Sonic Prime returns for its 3rd (and final) season releasing around early 2024.
Something to precede Sonic Day: did you know his Japanese VA can sing?
youtube
This song holds a special place in my heart since it was based on a short sci-fi story by J.G. Ballard (Terminal Beach, Chronopolis, The Drowned World, etc. also no relation)
Edit: that's not what "preclude" means
Edit2: The BUGGLES, not the Bangles, srsly girl what is wrong with you today
Junichi is my favorite. I do also have a soft spot for Jason Griffith since he was the english Sonic VA I grew up with
🦹♂️ Favorite Antagonist/Villain
Mephiles. He just has a presence to him whenever he shows up, and his theme is so chilling. I also love how he got into Shadow's head and just laughed maniacally while Elise cried over Sonic's dead body. He's just so sadistic, a great villain.
📉 Underrated Character?
A tie between Cream the Rabbit and Marine The Raccoon.
