❃How EXO acts around their crush❃

a/n: This is 10000% just for my own pleasure. I may have had this in my drafts for weeks... I am totally okay with all the Kyungsoo solo content and EXO ladder dropping. Totally. Super functional, delusional who?

ALSO to any EXO-L that are sharing Chen's LEAKED wedding photos. Please be respectful and either delete them or, at the very least, blur out his wife's face. Chen has gone to great lengths to safeguard her privacy, as she is not famous nor wants to be in the spotlight. Not to mention that there could be crazy sasaengs out there with ill intent. Sharing her info is basically doxing, and it is insane to me how many people shared these posts without much thought. Anyway, I needed to share my frustrations.

Xiumin/Minseok:

✾ He is a lot shyer than the other members; where most of EXO probably feels comfortable enough to act on their crushes, he is a bit more reserved. He wants to test the waters first, ascertaining whether the feeling is mutual. Whenever you are around and are talking to other people, he sits back silently, observing your reactions.

✾ Xiumin is smiling so widely around you that the other members worry that his muscles might start cramping up soon. The moment he sees you, his bubbly personality starts to really shine through, and sometimes you can't help but wonder whether this man truly is 33.

✾ That being said, from the moment that anyone offers Xiumin a couple of drinks, his confidence spikes, and he will start flirting with you. His flirting is still extremely sweet and cute; Xiumin can be incredibly charming when he wants to be.

Suho/Junmyeon

✾ He is such a gentleman around you, trying to make you feel at ease with his kind gestures. Whether it is him pulling back a chair or opening a door for you, he will do anything to make you feel like a princess.

✾ Being one of EXO's proud black card owners, he will casually buy you whatever you need. He keeps repeating that he wants to treat his friends when you try to interject. You can't completely refute it; he does spend a lot of money on the members. Yet, you can't help but feel like his gifts are slightly too expensive and excessive for 'just friends'.

✾ So. Many. Soft. Glances. Suho looks at you like you hung the moon and the stars; you catch him staring at you almost every time you look over. Conversations with him can, therefore, be a tad awkward. He doesn't always register what you are saying; he is so absorbed in watching you that he forgets to listen.

✾ The other members relentlessly tease him for it. If you don't catch on based on Suho's actions, you will definitely catch on due to his members' relentless teasing. Whenever he does anything remotely romantic around you, their faces light up like Christmas came early. The members are not subtle about it whatsoever, thoroughly enjoying putting their leader in a slightly uncomfortable position.

Baekhyun:

✾ The members didn't think it was possible, but Baekhyun somehow became louder. It is as if he wants to draw your attention simply by screaming, as he no longer has any volume control when you are around. Everyone can hear your conversation from across the room, and his laughter becomes borderline obnoxious as it overpowers any other sound.

✾ He is such a tease and a suggestive one at that. Considering he has no problem revealing intimate, not suitable to be aired on national TV, details about the members' bodies, he won't have any trouble suggestively flirting with you. Where Xiumin's pick-up lines are cute, Baekhyun's are far from it. Give this man some holy water, Jesus.

✾ He is so intense with his flirting that it sometimes crosses the line of sexy to parody, coming off as a joke. Baekyhyun has a very flirty personality and isn't above flirting with his friends. Even though he isn't subtle about his crush, he can accidentally fall into the "he flirts with everyone" category, making you question whether he genuinely likes you or is just being friendly.

✾ He really enjoys the chase when it comes to relationships. Thus, it will take him quite some time before he asks you out, simply because he likes the push-and-pull game.

Chanyeol

✾ There is nothing subtle about Mr. Park Chanyeol. The moment he sees someone he wants to date, he is going for it full steam ahead. Puppy Chanyeol is momentarily retired as he makes his way over to you; Chanyeol knows that he is handsome and sexy, and he is ready to show it to you. I hope you weren't interested in anyone else because the moment you return any of his interest, he will be flirting with you like there is no tomorrow.

✾ Internally, he is so excited to be talking to you, and sometimes, you will see glimpses of his cute puppy-like persona, especially once he feels like you are just as interested. Still, the words coming out of this man's mouth, Jesus part two. Please go and ask Baekyhun to pass the holy water.

✾ That being said, he will get embarrassed when the other members are around or slightly bashful when you return his flirting at full force. I don't think Chanyeol is used to anyone sharing his level of intensity, so once you do, he gets a bit flustered. He absolutely loves it, though. Your compliments got him grinning from ear to ear.

D.O./Kyungsoo

✾ Don't get me wrong, I adore this man to a delusional extent, but he is absolutely hopeless when it comes to communicating with his crush. He won't go anywhere near you if he can't help it; he prefers looking at you from afar. He is someone who favours being approached first over approaching you himself. It isn't that he doesn't want to talk to you; he simply isn't the type of person to initiate contact with his crush and tends to stay back when he can tell that someone else is interested, too.

✾ Even if he finds himself near you, don't expect him to have a full-blown conversation with you. He already tends to be a man of little words, but when it comes to you, he is a man of not a single word. Being around you is enough to make him happy; he doesn't really need to have a deep conversation.

✾ Nevertheless, his actions make more than up for it. He is such a gentleman, being the definition of preferential treatment. You don't have a chair to sit on? He will quietly offer you his. Your sweater got caught on something? He will silently help you get it out. Although he may not say much to you, he communicates his feelings through his actions.

Kai/Jongin

✾ If you think Xiumin or Kyungsoo are shy, you have not yet met Kai with a crush. He turns into absolute mush the moment he sees you, giggling and blushing whenever you do as much as breathing. You can't even see him because he has resorted to hiding behind the other members, preferably Sehun or Chanyeol, as they are tall enough to obscure him completely.

✾ If he somehow musters up the courage to talk to you, good luck having it go anywhere because he can barely make it through a sentence without giggling. It is obvious to everyone around him that he is smitten with you; his laughs are awkwardly loud, and his eyes are literally shooting hearts.

✾ The moment he manages to ask you to dance, his shy demeanour completely changes. His movement… His expressions… The way he is smirking at you… Maybe you should go and ask Chanyeol whether there is anything left of the holy water he borrowed from Baekyhun.

Sehun

✾ He has one of two ways of acting around his crush: either he acts super bratty or becomes painfully shy. It depends on whether he has met and talked to you before. But, if you are complete strangers, he would be so quiet, hiding in the furthest corner he can find.

✾ He will pester the members to go over and collect as much information as they can about you. They will do it because he will whine the entire night about it if they don't and, repeat with me, what Sehun wants, Sehun gets. The members try to convince Sehun to go talk to you himself, but Sehun stubbornly refuses. Bro will be playing the Maknae card harder than he ever has in his entire life.

✾ In the end, he will drag Suho with him, trying to 'casually' strike up a conversation with you. The small talk is painful, and in all honesty, Suho, with his dad jokes, isn't helping in the slightest. At the very least, it provides the two of you with a new conversational topic: the teasing of Suho.

This is my Secret Santa gift for @tao-lay. It was a lot of fun to participate again this year and I hope this little story warms your heart during these cold months.

Genre: fluff, tiniest bit of angst

Pairing: Kim Junmyeon (Suho)/Kim Jongdae (Chen)

Junmyeon was sitting at his desk, trying and failing to come up with some lyrics for his upcoming new solo album. His eyes were unfocused and he was gripping a pen lightly between his fingers. It must have been hours of him sitting there, trying to be productive but his brain just wouldn’t cooperate.

Junmyeon sighed and lifted his gaze to look out of the window. The sky was grey and it was raining heavily. The raindrops falling against the window were making a calming sound and lulled Junmyeon even further into a state of listlessness. A deep sigh left his mouth.

The last few weeks were stressful for all of Exo but Junmyeon bore a heavier burden as the leader. There was so much criticism, so much hate against one of their members and all of this made for a melancholic and emotional atmosphere. A few weeks ago Jongdae announced that he was going to be a father and the backlash wasn’t pretty.

Junmyeon got blind sided by the news when Jongdae first told all the members about his growing family. But he was happy for him nonetheless. Just like all the other members. Everyone encouraged him and Junmyeon could still remember the happiness that lightened up Jongdae's face when he received all the love from his Exo members. He remembered hugging Jongdae tight for longer than necessary and how Jondae's arms tightened around his body when he whispered words of support into Jongdae's ear.

But even though all the Exo members were happy and supportive, Junmyeon feared that Jongdae would get lots of hate for starting a family and marrying his girlfriend from some fans and in the end Junmyeon‘s fears came true. It hurt to know that his member, his dear friend for many years had to go through all this trouble just because the industry and some fans couldn’t accept that even though they’re idols, they still have a life outside of their job.

Lightning brightened the sky and the following thunder pulled Junmyeon out of his spiralling thoughts. He sighed again and buried his hand in his hair.

„I have to get it together…“ he murmured and gripped the pen tighter. Just when he wanted to start working on his lyrics again a knock on the door interrupted his half-hearted attempt.

Junmyeon put the pen down and turned to face the door.

„Come in.“ he said and waited for the person outside to come inside. A small surprised sound left his mouth when he saw Jongdae standing in the door frame. Jongdae was clutching an umbrella in his right hand, raindrops falling down onto the floor. He was wearing comfortable clothes and it looked like he came to visit Junmyeon straight after finishing his daily vocal lessons.

„Hyung…“ The unusually silent voice surprised and alarmed Junmyeon. There has seldom been a day when Jongdae was quiet. Junmyeon mustered his unexpected companion and saw deep circles under his eyes. The whole aforementioned situation seemed to affect his friend more than he wanted to admit maybe even to himself. Junmyeon knew that he had to be strong for Jongdae right now so he did what he did best and straightened his spine, put on his most comforting smile and invited Jongdae in.

„Come, sit down.“ Junmyeon gestured to the comfortable couch which was a new addition to this room. After a few too many nights of him falling asleep on his desk, trying to write lyrics, Junmyeon decided that he needed a place better suited for taking a nap. After pestering his manager he finally got his brand new couch where Jongdae now gingerly sat on. He looked smaller than normally sitting there. Exhausted and sad.

Jongdae’s facial expression plucked at Junmyeon's heartstrings and he knew that he had to interfere. So with the gentlest voice he asked this one important question.

„What is bothering you?“

Jongdae lifted his head and looked straight at Junmyeon, exhaling loudly.

„Hyung… shouldn’t they be happy for me?“ This quietly uttered question nearly broke Junmyeon’s heart. He immediately knew what Jongdae was talking about so Junmyeon stood up and walked over to the couch and sat down next to his friend. He put his arms around Jongdae’s shoulders and just hugged him tight for a moment. Jongdae returned the embrace and melted into the warm and strong arms surrounding him. When Junmyeon felt Jongdae melting into his embrace he started to speak again.

„They should. And I know for sure that so many people are happy for you. Including all of the boys and including me.“ Junmyeon stroked Jongdae’s hair. It had gotten longer and Junmyeon knew that Jongdae would trim his hair in the near future. But for now Junmyeon just let the strands of hair run through his fingers, occasionally playing with the ends of Jongdae's hair.

„Everything will be fine.“ He whispered. Jongdae didn’t say anything for a few seconds but then his quite voice could be heard.

„Thank you.“ Jongdae's arms squeezed Junmyeon's waist.

Junmyeon didn’t say anything any more just nodded and cradled his precious friend inside his arms. It didn’t take long before Jongdae’s breathing got deeper and his body sagged against Junmyeon’s. Smiling softly, Junmyeon relaxed into the couch and looked down on his friend sleeping in his arms. All the sorrow seemed to have left Jongdae’s face and Junmyeon felt the urge to just protect him always.

Junmyeon kissed him lightly on the brow and gripped him tighter, not wanting to let him go. The scent of Jongdae's shampoo drifted into his nose and Junmyeon took a beep breath, enjoying this closeness.

Jongdae was shuffling deeper into the warmth of the couch and the body heat of his companion. Junmyeon gazed at him full of affection and love.

„I will always be there for you.“

Junmyeon listened to the rain that was pelting against the windows. The sound was lulling him to sleep. He closed his eyes and just before he drifted off to sleep a soft whisper left his lips.

„Even when it rains.“

sitting here thinking about how junmyeon chose to perform been through as his solo song for exploration, a song that is literally about how to be resilient and persevere through the pain. a song that says, “i’ll get used to it, like catching a cold again. this isn’t the end, better days will come; at the end of that day, you’ll shine on me like this. without change, you shine on me forever. the quiet air, the warm wind, they’re all there, always in the same place. pain is just a passing storm to me.” a song that wasn’t a title track, a song that is on a winter album, it isn’t even part of their major discography. and he performed it while he had the members’ names written on his chest and back, and he exposed that for everyone to see, and he performed it all by himself. and the members made fun of him for the names but they were touched too, and junmyeon has always been so dedicated to them and to this group, and he’s always been so fucking resilient, he had to carry so much weight for them. and he fucking did it. and he put himself on that stage, and he said. i’ll get through it. again. because that’s what he always has done.

Summary: Professor Kim Junmyeon has a crush–a crush on the newest addition to the history department. Taking fate into their own hands, some light-fingered students make it their mission to get these two together.

A/N: I’m almost done with requests from back in June so I present a Junmyeon request. I’m not even going to pretend that Junmyeon’s legendary “Playboy” solo performance wasn’t the inspiration for this fic, despite it being fluff central up in here. Hope you enjoy!

Neon lights flashed. Pins scattered. Balls crashed down waxed, wooden lanes. The smell of pizza intermingled with the tang of floor polish.

The neon lights glared off the shiny, waxed floors of the bowling alley and Junmyeon was accosted by the intermingling smells of pizza and floor polish–a stark contrast to his usual habitat. The harsh lines and dark wooden panels of the lecture hall have vanished and in their place, an 80’s-reminiscent wonderland remains. Buttery leather shoes traded for rubber soles, the hum of student voices for the whir of the ball machine. This wasn’t the type of place Junmyeon usually frequented, much more accustomed to mood lighting and a crisp, fine wine.

It was the start of a new school year, which was marked as per usual, with a department-wide celebration encompassing both research faculty of the university’s history department, as well as their student lab workers. His department head was an avid bowler, which was precisely how Junmyeon found himself bowling in a three-piece suit and clown shoes.

A voice shouted his name and a hand beckoned him forward to take a ball. His sometimes most and sometimes least favorite graduate student, Sehun, plopped a ball into his hands with a wink, and pushed him towards the front. The little punk. Junmyeon made a mental note to assign Sehun to cleaning duty next week. After all, the archives had been looking extra dusty lately.

Looking around, he noticed the number of faces that had gathered to watch the game. He wanted to maintain his reputation–respected, dependable, and worthy of admiration–and vowed he won’t lose that by sucking at bowling. You can do this, Jun. Strength. Poise. Precision. With that in mind, he straightened his arm and swung it back, releasing the ball down the waxed, wooden lane.

It went…and went…and went…straight into the gutter. Not quite.

Junmyeon stood there in shock, not really believing he launched his ball exactly the opposite of where it was supposed to go. The hooting and hollering of the onlookers reached his ears and he turned around, feeling heat on the back of his neck. Sehun chose this time to tell a particularly biting joke, causing Junmyeon to blush profusely.

I guess he wants two weeks of cleaning duty, he mused to himself, leveling the taller man with a half-hearted glare.

In the middle of stewing, he almost missed the breezy laugh that made its way to his ears, the slew of voices behind him quieting to a low buzz. He watched as a woman stepped forward, walking with confidence to snare a ball from the machine. He tried not to stare, but couldn't help himself, frozen in place like he’d been turned to stone.

Pushing her hair behind her ear, she toyed with the little baby hairs at the crown of her head to keep them out of her eyes. Her cheeks were flushed an enchanting rosy pink, from the heat or from one too many beers, he didn’t know.

As he passed her on his way to sit down, she patted his arm gently. A jolt of electricity ran through his body, the sting of humiliation temporarily forgotten.

“Hey, don’t worry about it. We all throw a gutter ball once in a while,” she sympathized, offering him a smile that made his heart skip a beat.

Without conscious thought, he found himself nodding in agreement to her words, flashing her a gummy smile so wide it hurt his cheeks. He took a seat beside his colleague, Minseok, AKA the other Professor Kim, who grinned and slapped him on the back, clearly amused at his lack of athletic prowess.

Junmyeon watched as the mystery woman took position.

Like a seasoned pro, she took several intentional steps forward and swung her arm back, like the movement of a pendulum. She released the ball low, holding her position as the ball barreled down the lane with impressive speed. A perfect shot. The pins fell, clattering to the ground, before being swept back by a metal arm. Animated bowling pins danced all over the scoring screen, declaring “Strike! Strike!” in chipmunk-like voices.

“Who is that?” he breathed, leaning over to whisper in Minseok’s ear.

Minseok raised an eyebrow, surprised at Junmyeon’s sudden interest.

“Her? That’s Professor____ ____, the newest tenure-track hire in our department. Heard she came here over the summer from some big-shot university abroad. Boss’s excited because she’s apparently gained a reputation as “The Grant Fairy”, and you know how much he loves additional funding.”

Junmyeon nodded, but he barely heard what his friend was saying, too caught up in his newest colleague’s radiant smile and silly celebration dance. A strange sense of pride washed over him as you sank ball after ball in just the right spot. His skin prickled when you reached up to high-five the other, other Professor Kim, Ki-bum, beaming up at him in a way that made something inside Junmyeon twist.

It wasn’t rational. Not rational at all to feel this way about something he’d only just met. And Junmyeon lived by facts and figures. True or false. Black and white, but never gray. He fleetingly wondered if this rollercoaster of emotions was caused by excessive consumption of alcohol, but then quickly remembered he’d been drinking club soda all night. Sadly, no wine to be found in a place like this.

A smirk crossed Sehun’s handsome features. Watching Professor Kim Junmyeon lose his mind over the department’s newest addition was the unexpected highlight of the evening. As by-the-book as they came, the older man has little tolerance for the times–the very, very minimal times–that he’d caught Sehun filming Tik Tok dances during work hours. He scratched his chin, sure that a romantic diversion such as this might loosen the older man up for the greater good. Having worked in his lab for several years, Sehun considered himself an expert on the illustrious academic’s quirks and characteristics. Unfortunately, where Junmyeon was smooth with a pen, he wasn’t smooth with words, at least outside of a lecture hall, that is.

The cogs in Sehun’s brain started to turn, and a plan took shape behind his eyes. Sehun couldn’t help but pat himself on the back for having such a brilliant idea. Slipping off unnoticed from the party, he shot off text messages to his future accomplices. This wasn’t a one-man job, but rather a collaboration, one might say. All he had to do was sit back and watch as the fun began.

“Okay, let’s go through this one more time, Jun,” Minseok instructed, pulling Junmyeon over to face the mirror. “You walk into her office and you say…”

“Hello Professor ___. I was…um…wondering if you wanted to…go out for dinner sometime?” Junmyeon stared at himself in the mirror, feeling awkward–like a high school student nervously practicing a confession to the girl he likes while hiding in the boys’ bathroom.

Minseok hung his head in mock shame. “Say it with confidence, Jun! Again–and like you really mean it this time!”

Junmyeon tried once more, feeling silly. He spoke passionately and eloquently to hundreds of students everyday, so why now was it so hard to string a simple sentence together?

Minseok was speaking, but Jun could barely hear him–his mind elsewhere–on you.

Picking up the leather-bound book on the table, he ran his fingers over the slight grooves in the spine. It was this simple, non-assuming object that had started it all.

The air had been heavy with anticipation, as it always was at 3:30 PM on a Friday. His students were preoccupied, thinking only of the Netflix they’d binge, the pizza they’d demolish, and the alcoholic beverages they’d consume–much too distracted to appreciate his riveting lecture on the intricacies of black holes.

The bell had rung and he’d sent them off with a reminder to complete their homework, unheeded in their haste to depart. In the still silence of the empty lecture hall, he’d noticed an abandoned book on one of the desks–no doubt forgotten by an absent-minded student in the flurry of activity moments before.

Opening to the cover, he hadn’t expected to find your name scrawled in the corner, but to his surprise, there it was. Since that day, the book has taken up residence in his office. He’d enjoyed having it with him and he often caught himself glancing at it, smiling like a giddy school boy because it reminded him of you. But he knew he had to give it back–it wouldn’t be right to keep something that wasn’t his. It was this unassuming object that would give him the excuse to talk to you–at least beyond the occasional exchange of words in the hall or at the coffee pot in the teacher’s lounge.

“ –so then you…Junmyeon!” Minseok cut off mid-sentence, impatiently waving his hand in front of Junmyeon’s face.

Junmyeon apologized for his lack of focus, grateful Minseok’s as forgiving as he was. Not just any friend would give up his afternoon to talk him through how to be smooth with the ladies. And Minseok was smooth with the ladies. The other Professor Kim had zero inhibitions when it came to romantic partners–suave, well-dressed, and always ready with a witty comeback–Minseok was never without someone adorning his arm.

Junmyeon wished he could have even half that amount of confidence.

The light glowing from your office drew Junmyeon like a moth to a flame. It was way past the usual time he’d leave from work, but lately he found more and more reasons to stay. Light drifting out from under your door? Term papers to read. Passed by you in the hall on his way out? Oops, those tests needed to be graded tonight.

Today was no different, the moon shining high in the sky as Junmyeon made his daily pilgrimage to you, the leather tome he’d harbored uncharacteristically heavy in his hands. Standing outside your door, Junmyeon’s nerves flared. He practiced this over and over with Minseok and he told himself it would all be okay. He raised his hand to knock on the door, knowing it was now or never or he'd lose his nerve. Your voice sounded from within, spurring him forward and through the door.

You looked at the clock, shocked to see the hours had passed so quickly. It had been several weeks since you started your position here and you finally felt like you had some space to breathe. It was a big change leaving your old job, but you could happily say now that it was worth it. This job provided you with things you didn’t have before–a team of student researchers of your own, a promise of tenure, and the type of salary that would keep you traveling for years to come. Your colleagues had been welcoming too, and your mind wandered to one in particular. Dark hair, slightly curled at the end, bright eyes, and pretty, pink lips. They looked so soft and you wondered if they’d feel that way against your–

A knock sounded at the door and the spell was broken. You shook your head, reminding yourself to keep it out of the gutter. You called for them to enter, wondering who could possibly still be at school at this late hour.

The door opened and in walked the man you’d just been fantasizing about not 30 seconds before. You rubbed your eyes, wanting to make sure this wasn’t some kind of sleep deprivation-induced fantasy. But no, he was still there when your gaze cleared, a small smile on his handsome face, and looking better than anyone had a right to in a three-piece brown tweed suit.

Your cheeks warmed in response and you hoped it wasn’t obvious to him. Yes, you had a crush, as much as you didn’t want to admit it. All the signs were there: heartbeat racing when you ran into him in the hallway, sweaty palms when you exchanged pleasantries in the break room, thoughts of him swimming in your head at all hours of the day. You remembered the night you met him, some weeks ago at the welcome party. He’d just sent the ball straight to the gutter, but you’d barely noticed, too enchanted by his expressive eyes and squishy smile.

From then on you’d thought about ways to approach him. Unsatisfied with all of them, you wished you were more extroverted, then maybe you wouldn’t even need a reason to talk to him. You could just do it. You supposed your introversion was a contributing factor to your choice in career; after all, not everyone would be thrilled to spend their time digging through dusty libraries, pouring over antique books and documents in the pursuit of answering a question you’d dedicated your entire career to answering. You had settled for staying late at work, the light in his office your guide for when it was time to leave.

Now, seeing Junmyeon here amongst your things, you thanked the universe for this divine intervention. Gesturing for him to take a seat, noted the familiar book he clutched in his hands. An awkward silence fell over the room and you waited for him to say something, anything to drown out the thump, thump, thump of your beating heart.

“Good evening, Prof. ____. I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but I…uh…found this book of yours and wanted to return it. In case you were really missing it.”

He laid the book on your desk, pushing it towards you, chuckling at the last bit.

“Ah yes, thank you Prof. Kim, I have been looking for that everywhere. Where–uh–ever did you find it?”

You, in fact, hadn’t been looking for it everywhere, but you decided he didn’t need to know that. To be honest, you hadn’t even noticed it was gone. However, you were curious how it came into his possession. You had just moved into your office, but all your books had been packed away in boxes until recently.

Junmyeon cleared his throat.

“Honestly, it was the strangest thing. I found it left on a desk after I’d finished one of my lectures. I was surprised to find it belonged to you.”

“Hmmm, that is strange,” you agreed, scratching your chin in thought. “Well, thank you again for returning it…” you trailed off, blindly scrounging for a way to make the conversation last longer.

“Yeah, no problem at all, just happy I could help.”

Junmyeon slowly got up from his chair and headed toward the door. He paused at the threshold, staring at you like he had something to say. He shook his head, causing dark locks to spill across his forehead, and resumed motion.

“Well, Professor ____, I guess I should go now. It was lovely talking to you.”

With that, he opened the door and quickly stepped through it, the door closing behind him with a gentle thump.

You stared at the door for several seconds after he’d gone, wishing you’d had the spine to say what you really wanted to say. Hey, you want to go for coffee sometime? It’s not that hard, right? Right! You could have said that instead of just saying “thank you” a hundred times!

You sighed and grabbed your book, the one Professor Kim had been so kind to return. Stroking the soft leather, you went to your bookshelf, placing it at home amongst the many others there. Behind you, the door creaked, causing you to jump in surprise. You whirled around to find Professor Kim standing there, his mouth set in a firm line.

“Oh, Professor Kim, you scared me!” you said, patting your hand over your chest in an attempt to calm your racing heart.

“My apologies Professor ____, but I couldn’t just leave without saying–couldn’t just leave without asking–”

Professor Kim took a deep breath through his nose before continuing: “ –if you wanted to go out sometime. Coffee…maybe dinner…whatever you want.”

He bit his lip before glancing down at his shoes, that bashful squishy smile gracing his handsome features again.

You stuck your finger under your nose, just to check that you were still breathing. The hand still over your heart assured you of its beating. Oh my god. It’s real. He’s asked you out on a date! Say something, you idiot!

“Coffee…maybe dinner…sounds good,” you said with a small smile. Good, yeah, that’s good. Very natural.

Junmyeon scratched his head. “Oh–okay, well that’s great…uh…when are you free? I mean, I’m free now…are you free now?” he asked, stumbling over his words.

You smiled at his endearing nervousness, so much like your own. “Yeah, I’m free now…should we…?” you trailed off, raising your eyebrows in question, nodding towards the door.

You grabbed your coat, struggling to put it on as you’d suddenly forgotten how arms work. Professor Kim–Junmyeon–as he told you to call him, held it out for you to slip your arms into. You walked together down the deserted hallway towards the Java Hut, which was blessedly open late, and you wanted to hug the universe for giving you this opportunity.

“Hey, Junmyeon?” you started, waiting for him to look at you. “After this, would you want to go bowling sometime?”

You watched as a range of emotions poured over Junmyeon’s face–embarrassment, surprise, to name a few–his shooting wide like saucers. You honestly couldn’t hold it in anymore, the look on his face was too much for you to bear, and you dissolved into a fit of giggles. Even in the dark, you could see Junmyeon’s cheeks darken to an attractive hue of pink, evidence that he wasn’t used to being teased like this.

“No shade, no tea, but I feel with a few pointers, there could be vast improvement,” you joked.

Junmyeon purses his lips, stroking his chin in mock thought.

“Well, I suppose I could be persuaded to go bowling–with the right coach, that is.”

Two sets of eyes watched silently as you and Junmyeon exited the building. Sehun held out his hand and high-fived Baekhyun, his partner in crime. It was a genius plan, really, though Baekhyun had almost gotten caught “borrowing” that book from Professor____’s office. Sure, it had taken Professor Kim several annoyingly long weeks to work up the nerve to return the book to its rightful owner and Sehun would be claiming all that over-time on his next paycheck, but it was worth it. He patted himself on the back for a job well-done, not for the first time considering a change in careers to match-making.

OKAY!!! Exo Fanmeet recap!!!

SO: first of all, it took for fucking ever to get my ticket since i could only pick them up in person which means i missed the merch sale ㅠㅅㅠ but its not so bad since i can buy later online. now ik for next time to get there 3 or more hours early to really make sure i have time for everything

the actual event was really great!! the guys opened with Hear Me Out which was fun to listen to. Minseok's new hair is so pretty and he was super fucking handsome. the cheers for Baek and Kyungsoo and Junma were nuts, everyone went crazy for them (including the ahjumma i was sitting next to), sadly Jongdae got less cheers but he had a good bit and i screamed as loud as i could obvi. the setlist was kinda ass tbh bc it was the same songs they always do and like SURE theyre fun and all but i want to hear other things!!! i will say tho that i liked the Don't Go performance bc Min was doing his solo dance to it while they were singing and i love that performance so much.

they played some games and were absolutely ass at it except Junmyeon and his jump rope skills with the accupuncture slippers on. Exo turned into golfers yet none of them could putt, its so funny. everyone was so cute tho!! they had fun and it was so nice to watch

the best part was the "Title Killing Voice" corner where they did basically all the titles (except Mama my beloved) they skipped from Killing Voice or the parts that people wanted to see like Kyungsoo's LMR high note. that was the best part and believe me when i say i SCREAMED for Obsession. also for this corner they were wearing panda costumes and it was so adorable. they all made jokes about being related to Fu Bao but also Min was like "I'm Xiu Bao" like babe no youre Baozi!!

anyway then they did outfit change again and had a ment where Myeon pointed out that Kai and Sehun were there and when i tell you i nearly died,,,, also i cried to Universe. they ended with XOXO and Just as Usual (?) for the encore stage which annoyed me a little bc i thought they were going to do Heaven which is one of my favorite songs but its fine. Junmyeon said when Sekai are back, we're getting a new album and a world tour so maybe theyll come to the city i live in now

Suho

Love: His situation is complicated, because Junmyeon is in a relationship, but currently things are a little complicated.They haven’t seen each other for a couple of times, they are having troubles communicating what they want. Because Junmyeon is pressed by his family to settle and marry but his partner doesn’t seem to want that life. He has been understanding of their needs and wants, but his voice his left out. Junmyeon spends a lot of time with his friends and I see someone that he will meet next week that will help him with this

Career: Overall things seem good, he only has some difficulty decisions to make concerning where his career is going. His managers are behind him, and he has good plans overall. Junmyeon dedicates himself by helping his members on their work but also helping other trainees and even other idols

Health:

Physical: Is going through some digestive issues, nothing serious

Emotional: He is undergoing treatment his his past traumas and his emotional health that has been having hard time lately

Xiumin

Love: I didn’t got much info for Minseok’s reading. He is still dating his non idol partner and things seem to be going just fine. He is happy with his relationship and he might even think about taking this to the next step !

Career: He had some collabs and projects he started to work on, but it seems like the company pushed it a little to be released later. He has been close to the higher ups and he is taking his career into his own hands. He doesn’t wish to become a collateral effect of SM’s issues

Health:

Physical: Blood pressure should be checked, because he has a bad circulation. Teeth and headaches are recurrent lately, also his legs feel heavy, probably due to that circulation thing

Emotional: Working on his mental health, it’s a difficult period for him at the moment

Baekhyun

Love: His love life is confused, I don’t think Baekhyun is currently dating as an serious thing, but more having fixed flings with one person in particular. The relationship is very discreet, not many people know about it, mostly because he wishes for it to be kept under the radar. He also doesn’t feel ready to give anyone a healthy relationship for the moment

Career: He is extremely upset with how his career is being managed by the company at the moment. He feels stuck with ideals he doesn’t want to meet, there is arguments and I kinda see the company blackmailing him to do whatever they want him to do. Baekhyun clearly is getting fed up with their shit

Health:

Physical: Rather okay, just some headaches sometimes

Emotional: Mental health is awful and he isn’t being followed by a professional at the moment. Not only his hormonal issues don’t help him, but Back also doesn’t sleep well, he has depressive episodes and his mind is troubled

Chen

Love: Complicated, I don’t want to debate that much when it comes to Jongdae’s situation. I just want to say he has been spending more time with his “family of heart” (friends per exemple), then his actual family which generates conflicts

Career: He is working on his solos activities again, he is getting everything ready and settled for. I also see him participating in a lot of tv shows and stuff like that, im working independently. However he isn’t happy with the company either, mostly because they don’t pay him in the right dates, and they keep juggling him and wanting different things for him

Health:

Physical: He is definitely sick with something, since all my sickness cards came out. It’s something related with his heart condition

Emotional: X

Chanyeol

Love: Chanyeol is still in a relationship. I will have to check if this person is the same person he was dating in August. In any case I see a lot of complicated moments on his relationship, mostly due to choices and not being in the same page with his partner. But other than that, he is in love and complexity into his relationship. I suppose he wants to take this further but his partner isn’t ready for it

Career: So much conflict, like a lot. He has been arguing and fighting against his company, trying to communicate his feelings and his needs on his career, but the managers and higher ups discard his words. That gets him very annoyed

Health:

Physical: Rather okay, just some stomach aches sometimes

Emotional: He is okay and stable mentally

D.O.

Love: Kyungsoo seem to be single at the moment, he keeps getting disappointed in love and he isn’t happy with the people that cross his path romantically speaking. At the moment he is trying to focus only on his career and letting the rest come whenever it wants to come

Career: A lot of things happening. I see that some coworkers aren’t happy with the path that he took, but he doesn’t care less. Kyungsoo is happy with his career, he is having a lot of projects to work on, he is being blessed with stable income and good karma. A lot of his projects are going well and this year he will show many colors, as a singer and actor as well.

Health:

Physical: He also had some stomach issues but everything is okay now, he is under meds to fix that

Emotional: Needs to slow down and adapt himself to his natural emotional rhythm. He self doubts a lot

Kai

Love: His love status is.. well complicated to understand. I don’t know if he is still in a relationship or not, but this thing seem like it’s breaking into pieces. Jongin isn’t happy, he is disappointed and I feel like he will separate from this person unfortunately

Career: Despite his comeback being upon us, he doesn’t seem happy with his the whole thing was managed. Firstly because they discussed and argued a lot about what the comeback was supposed to be and again the company made him adopt something he didn’t fully agree with. But Jongin doesn’t have his say on this. Someone in the company wants to harm him

Health:

Physical: Insulina levels should be checked out for possible diabetes status, kidneys, liver and bladder as well, he needs to drink more water. His vertebras too, his body is getting used from dancing so much

Emotional: Rather okay mentally, but his toxic environment doesn’t help him

Sehun

Love: He too isn’t in a relationship, Sehun only has flings and recently he was having a fling with a older person that is divorced (they met in august 2022 and they started the fling around December). He knows that this won’t ever gets serious and for now he is just enjoying their company

Career: He lost os much money, however thankfully he was bale to get it all back with some of his projects. There’s someone inside the company that supports him a lot, even financially. Because of that, even with minimum work he is able to secure a wealthy life

Health:

Physical: He is okay, he probably got a cold not long ago

Emotional: His energy is a little rocky but he is fine

Lay

Love: Okaaay.. I won’t be able to argument a lot on what is happening in Yixing’s love life.. Let’s say he is in a relationship, but things happens, responsibilities needs to be taken, family is involved. That’s all I can say

Career: His relationship with work is extremely unhealthy but it’s making him very very wealthy so he keeps going. I see him traveling a lot this year for his career and business related things

Health:

Physical: Headaches due to lack of sleep

Emotional: Depressive episodes are recurrent and the boy doesn’t sleep, like at all and it’s extremely unhealthy. He also has unhealthy habits and consumptions, dark thoughts and a lot of issues that need to be solved
