I went to see the traveling Jurassic Quest exhibit this weekend (courtesy of tickets from a family member), and I was bowled over by the amount of FEATHERS I saw. Almost all the dinosaurs that should have feathers had them. It wasn’t perfect by any means, since they were clearly trying to update old models, but I went in expecting movie monsters and instead got feathered animals. Beipiaosaurus got equal billing to Utahraptor (with feathers). T. rex (with feathers) was posed sitting like a sleepy bird. It was a whole different environment from the “pop culture dinosaurs” expected. Such a far cry from what I was used to seeing when I was little, unless I went to a museum. The way the world views dinosaurs really seems to be changing.
!!!!! Fingers crossed that more things like this are made!!
