watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World: Dominion with a friend made me realize that after Jurassic World, Bayona and Treverrow REALLY wanted to make like three separate kinds of movies that had dinosaurs in them but then had to quickly make them into Jurassic World movies which makes me think Universal should just slap a "Jurassic Park Presents" logo on something and let directors do some shit like a haunted house movie with dinosaurs or like the three separate movies Dominion was trying to be because I think people really like Dinosaurs and they should put them in many more movies and people would enjoy movies with dinosaurs in them
another potential AU which revolves around the JW movies (Jurassic World) making Moon my favourite hybrid of the whole movie series - the Indoraptor!! ee thoughts? 👉👈
Who would've thought we'd be getting Dinosaurs in Murder Drones?
Hinging on the idea this thing is the reason for the mangled Disassembly Drone bodies seen throughout the teaser. My theory is that it is Nori or at least created/used by her.
having thoughts about a made up dinosaur from a movie i have never seen
Out of the JW dinosaurs, the Indoraptor stands out to me as pretty aesthetically pleasing, but I think it’s inherent JW monsterisms hold it back from being really good. Sketching out ideas right now, to go for something thats less “oooh big spiky toothy danger lizard” and more controlled and sleek.
He’s trained to be calm and observant when at ease, but when he’s on, he’s on. His suffering from animal abuse is a lot more explicit, he’s an animal trained and hardwired for savage violence, without much in the way of taking care of himself. He would have a more developed relationship with Blue, who are both desiring social groups, before things go to shit. Blue is also feathered here, in my take InGen would be able to create almost fully feathered raptors at this point. Indo has sparse feathering mostly replaced by dangerous quills. He has a body a lot more obviously built for prowling and pouncing like a panther, I always found the regular extremely high of the ground ass of the og design to be really awkward.
Keep in mind I don’t really consider myself a JP fan, I’m looking at this purely from the perspective of the kind of designs and story I’d like to see. Once again, I haven’t even seen Fallen Kingdom. If you have opinions on this lmk
Is there any kind of active Jurassic park/world fandom on here? I feel like there should be and I've seen some good fanart but im not really seeing any blogs that are kinda centered around it like with other fandoms. If that is you, please step forward, i am fixating all alone. This is like the tumblr equivalent of me sending out smoke signals here
Imagine spending all that money to go to Jurassic World in Costa Rica when literally four years later, you can wake up to seeing a dinosaur from your front porch.
How many times do you have to see the evidence? How many times must the point be made? We're causing our own extinction. Too many red lines have been crossed. And our home has, in fundamental ways, been polluted by avarice and political megalomania. Genetic power has now been unleashed and of course, that's gonna be catastrophic. This change was inevitable from the moment we brought the first dinosaur back from extinction.
JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM
2018, dir. J. A. Bayona
redesign concept of a guy from a movie I have never watched
You can find more of my sketches and thoughts on the design process in this post here
Basically though, I wanted to create a design that was more sleek and unnerving. I think the original Indoraptor is the most aesthetically pleasing out of the JW dinosaurs, but it’s inherent monsterish design traits hold it back from being really good. Let me know what you think of this design, especially since I don’t really consider myself a JP fan, and made this out of the desire to create a design and story that I would enjoy.
