Jonathan - Danny

This is cross-posted from Wattpad and available on AO3. This is an old work, the writing has improved ever since.

Jonathan Joestar was devastated. His beloved dog and best friend Danny had disappeared for three days now.

When Jonathan went to walk him, Danny got excited over a little squirrel and chased it. But when the teenager ran after his dog, he couldn't find him anywhere. He tried to call his name and searched for hours, but in vain.

The Joestars had put flyers, sent search teams, had the authorities back and Georges Joestar even offered a princely sum to whoever would find the beloved animal. But to no avail.

The young boy was laying down in the grass next to the stream, the place where he would usually hang out with Danny.

"Danny... If you were here, you would comfort me right now..." he trailed off sadly.

The sun was shining and the clouds were dancing in the blue sky, but Jonathan was blind to all of this beauty as his whole world turned grey. He felt lost without his best friend. He didn't realize the importance of his dog until he lost him.

The sun went down, and it was time for the dark haired male to come back home. As the night came and Jonathan went to bed, he pondered restlessly.

Where was Danny? Was he okay? Was he cold? Or hungry? Did someone find him? Was he in good hands? Was he far? Was he even alive?

Tears prickled in Jonathan's eyes, but he tried to hold them back. He had to be strong and not lose hope just yet. He was determined and will find his dog.

He finally fell into a dreamless slumber as another day without Danny was soon to begin.

The next day, Jonathan woke up and started his routine as usual. He felt empty, but still braved himself to live on his day, animated by the thought of maybe finding Danny today.

Later on in the afternoon, the teenager was coming home from school and, hopeful as he was, decided to walk around and search a bit more before returning home.

He walked to a place a little bit on the further side of his usual track, deciding it wouldn't hurt to check there even if it was unlikely that Danny could be there. He was desperate at this point, so he might as well try any place.

He found himself in a little clearing with a pond next to a small forest, if you could call it a forest, and heard the sound of a girl giggling. The boy got curious and followed the sweet sound.

"Hey! Not so fast little guy! Aww look at you, you're all dirty now!"

Jonathan became even more curious at the happy noises and came up to find a H/C haired girl, seemingly around his age, crouching in front of something.

He didn't say anything as the girl didn't notice him approaching from behind her. He stood still and stared at her from afar.

She then proceeded to cup some water from the pond and wash up the little creature in front of her.

"Here you go, I can't take you back to your owner looking all dirty, now can I?" She spoke softly to the animal, while cleaning it's paws.

The dog barked as if to agree and she chuckled.

"You are very smart..." she looked at the little engraved charm attached to the dog's collar. "...Danny Joestar."

The dog let out a happy 'bork!', recognizing his own name and licked the girl's face.

"Hahaha stop it, it tickles!" she patted the dog's head but was interrupted by a voice.

"Umm, excuse me, miss!" Jonathan called out to her and the girl flinched and abruptly whipped her head around.

"Y-yes...?" She hesitantly said, clearly intimidated by the tall Jonathan. She had put her arms protectively around the animal which the teenager noticed.

Before he could say anything else, the dog sprinted towards Jonathan, barking loudly and tail wagging.

"Danny!!! Oh my god Danny it's you!!" Jonathan kneeled and engulfed his beloved dog in his arms, laughing happily and running his hands up and down his fur while Danny peppered Jonathan with doggo kisses.

"I missed you so much!! I was so scared!"

The girl stood up, watching the scene with wide eyes. That boy was this dog's owner? What a fortunate coincidence! She wanted to ask his name to be sure it was indeed him, but the tall male beat her to it.

"Miss! Thank you so much for finding my dog! He was missing for days!" He stood up and walked towards her. "Ah! I didn't even introduce myself, my name is Jonathan Joestar. Nice to meet you!"

"Aah! Joestar? So you are indeed his owner! It's nice to meet you too, Jonathan." She smiled at the charming male, relieved.

"You can call me Jojo! And may I know the name of my savior?"

The girl blushed at how he adressed her. She shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she replied.

"Y/N L/N. It was nothing really, I just found Danny all alone this morning and took care of him until I could go find you..."

Jonathan smiled softly at her, and her heart melted at the sight. He was so handsome, and his eyes were such a deep blue, how did she not realize it sooner?

"I was so worried... I don't know what I would do without Danny in my life. But you brought him back to me safe and sound. You must be the angel I prayed for every night."

Jonathan looked at the H/C girl with such tender eyes, she swore she could feel her heart burst inside her chest.

"I-I... Jojo... Don't say things like that..." she blushed ear to ear, hiding her face in her hands, not knowing how to cope with this newfound love she just fell in.

The ebony haired male chuckled at how cute the girl acted and felt bad on his part.

"Haha, pardon me, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head.

Danny suddenly jumped on her to grab her attention and panted happily.

"Aah, I'm going to miss you too Danny, but you're lucky to live with such a nice gentleman as Jojo!" She patted Danny's head and Jonathan flushed at the indirect compliment.

"Ah yes! Y/N, please let me invite you over for dinner!"

The young girl straightened up and looked back at the boy's ocean blue eyes, surprised. "Huh?"

"I would like to thank you for finding my dog. It's the least I can do. I want to show my father the face of the one who did me the most important of favors."Jonathan looked at her expectantly and she hesitated.

"I... I can't accept. This is too much, I didn't do it for a reward I-"

The male cut her off by grabbing both her hands in his. She gasped at the sudden act. His hands were so warm and comforting against her soft tiny ones.

"Please Y/N, honor me with your presence tonight. I will send a coach to your house, what do you say? 7pm, Is that good?" his voice was soft and convincing.

She was overwhelmed and flustered by the offer but eventually agreed as she couldn't fight this determined boy. He loudly cheered when the young lady nodded.

"Yes!! Father will be so happy! Let's go Danny! See you tonight Y/N!" The boy ran off with his best friend while waving happily at her.

She shyly waved back as her heart didn't stop pounding inside her ribcage. She brought her hands up to her chest in an attempt to calm it down.

She fell in love with the Joestar heir and now she was going to meet his father. 'What should I do?' She thought to herself, lovestruck.

On the other hand, Jonathan was extatic. Not only did he find his beloved furry best friend in good health, but he also met a beautiful and nice lady who he couldn't wait to court, if she was fine with it of course.

"Y/N L/N, truly an angel! I look forward to seeing your shining eyes again!" He told himself dreamily.

The boy ran off back to his mansion, already preparing his storytelling to his father.

Jonathan: Aah a girlfriend! Can't wait not to show her to Dio lol

Guys, you don't even know the pain of losing an animal until you have one. Legit don't have a dog, but if I lost my cat, my mind would shatter. I hope none of you will have to deal with what Jonathan had to go through in this one shot.

A: Aptitude 1. what are your oc’s natural abilities, things they’ve been doing since young?

Cath likes to sing, though maybe not infront of anyone.

2. what activities have they participated in?

Klaus keeps a close eye on her, but she does enjoy archery

3. what abilities do they have that they’ve worked for?

Archery. She’s a horrible shot.

4. what things are they bad at?

She doesn’t have the patience for art

5. what is their most impressive talent?

She can actually carry a tune quite nicely

B: Basics 1. what is their hair color?

Very dark brown, almost black

Brown

Five foot even

Almost 23

It depends. If Klaus is in the room she sits with good posture, if not she has her legs folded up under her

With lots of pillows and wrapped around most of them.

Wake up, shower, put pjs on, eat some breakfast, read most of the day, lunch, take a warm bath, read some more, nap, dinner, sleep

4. what is their major comfort food? why?

She loves warm chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven. They make her feel warm all over.

5. who is the best at comforting them when down?

Probably Klaus or Bo

D: Decoration 1. how would they decorate a house if they had one under their name?

I’m not sure if there is a stylistic name for it but its a mix of semi girly and minimalistic.

2. how would they decorate their child’s room?

Probably similarly

Still kinda girly, maybe a tad bit of what she would call messy

4. what type of clothes and accessories do they wear?

Lots of sweaters. Put together comfyish but she knows how to dress fancy if she needs to.

Sometimes? She picks at her nails so they don’t get too long but she wears a little bit of makeup. She likes to watch videos on makeup but isn’t necissarily into it

She’s extremely meticulous in how she does things. Everything has an order to be done.

Internally? yes. Externally? not really?

Aw, man, those are good prompts - either "Can I pet your dog?" / "Do I know you?" or "Is the cat in a onesie?" / "Uh, no?" with a pair of your choice? I love all your writing, it's so engaging and touching and fun to read. No pressure to answer this quickly, by the way, or answer it at all! Only if you want to!

Logan tugged on Virgil’s leash gently, urging the dog along. “Come along,” he said. The sun was setting across the sky and he really wanted to get home before dark.

Virgil, Logan’s German Shepard, brushed himself affectionately against Logan’s leg before pulling away and trotting obediently by his side. Logan walked briskly down the path, keeping an eye out for other dog walkers that would alarm his beloved pet. Virgil tended to get a little antsy around other dogs.

“Excuse me!”

Logan whirled around, tightening his grip on Virgil’s leash. The poor dog turned around with Logan, backing up to hide behind his legs. Standing in front of them was a man a little smaller than Logan with curly blond hair and glasses. He was wearing a blue polo shirt and jeans with a cat hoodie tied around his shoulders. And he was staring at Virgil with hearts in his eyes.

"Can I pet your dog?" The man asked, bouncing a little on the balls of his feet. “Please? Is that okay?”

"Do I know you?" Logan asked with a little edge in his voice. At any other time he was sure that he’d be much politer and perhaps even say yes to this man’s request. But it was late and they were in the woods. You could never tell what people was thinking or which person could be sick enough to hurt a dog.

The man winced at Logan’s sharp tone and smiled apologetically. “I’m Patton Heart. I live in town. I’m sorry, I’m been told that I can be a little excitable when it comes to doggos.”

Thinking back, Logan could remember seeing the other man walking around town. He could even remember seeing his friend Roman talking to him about his new friend Patton Heart on more than one occasion. And, despite how much he teased his friend about his reckless decision making, Logan trusted Roman’s taste in friends.

Logan crouched down and gestured Patton to approach slowly. “Virgil,” he said, keeping his voice low and soothing, “this is Patton.”

Virgil was wary but obviously curious about Patton. He stepped forward and sniffed Patton’s outstretched hand. Patton crouched down in front of him and smiled at the dog. “Hey, buddy,” he cooed. He glanced at Logan. “What’s his name?”

“His full name is Vergilius Abbott,” Logan said proudly. “However, he answers to the name Virgil.”

“Aww, what a cute name,” Patton cooed, petting Virgil’s long fur gently and laughing when Virgil licked the inside of his wrist. Logan cocked an eyebrow curiously. Virgil was a shy dog so it was rare that he was this friendly with a stranger. “What a beautiful little puppy! Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy?”

Virgil barked and pushed his head into Patton’s head, tail wagging happily. Logan took a moment to take in this adorable sight before standing and tugging on Virgil’s leash. “I believe it’s time for the two of us to get going.”

Virgil whined petulantly but going to stand next to Logan. Patton stood up too and gave Logan a hopeful smile. “Well, I don’t suppose I could walk with you, could I? I’m heading the same way.”

“Of course,” Logan nodded, starting back down the path. Patton followed beside him, talking happily about how much he loved walking down the paths in the woods. By the end of the walk, Logan had somehow agreed to going for another walk with the man tomorrow.

He couldn’t figure out how but Virgil seemed happy about it so he supposed that it wouldn’t be that bad.

What’s the most played song on your iPod? I haven’t used my iPod since 2012. I use Spotify on my phone, but I don’t think it tells you what your most played song is. What is one quality you admire most in others? People who are driven and get shit done. What would you do with a million dollars? Sigh. I’d have to first and foremost pay off my debt. I’d also help my parents and brother out. I’d get us a new house. Traveling is a must. What’s your favorite song to dance to? I don’t dance. Well, unless you count a little head bobbin’ and maybe a little movement of my arms or shoulders. lol. What would your ideal birthday party be like? I’m 30 and old so I don’t look forward to my birthday anymore, ha. If I were able to travel for my birthday then that would be nice.

If you could be reincarnated into anything you wanted, what would it be? I don’t want to be reincarnated. I don’t believe in it. What talent would you like to have? A talent at all would be cool, but in particular I wish I had any artistic ability or was musically inclined. Are you ticklish? Just my neck. What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep? 30+ hours. What New Year’s resolutions did you make? I don’t make those anymore. What are three songs that mean the most to you? Everlong (acoustic) by Foo Fighters, Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and... I’ve having a hard time choosing a 3rd. There’s so many songs that mean something to me for one reason or another. So many memories and emotions. Who is the one person you miss the most? There’s 3 someones. What do you think of your parents? I love them with all my heart. I couldn’t keep going if I didn’t have them. My mom and I are super close, she’s my rock. What is one thing you would do to make the world better? I don’t know what I could do. What is your favorite kind of sandwich? My sandwiches at home consist of bologna, sharp cheddar cheese, mayo, mustard, and spinach with olive oil on the side mixed with basil and oregano for dipping. At my favorite deli I get turkey, salami, provolone, mustard, mayo, and oil and vinegar. If you had a puppy, what would you name it? My doggo’s name is Princess Leia. She’s 2, but she’ll always be my puppy. (: If I were to get another dog; though... I’m not sure what I would name him/her, but it’d also be after a character. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do? I don’t know. How much cash do you have on you right now? Zero. What do you think makes you attractive to other people? Nothing. Would more money make you happier? It would help with a lot, but I wouldn’t be cured of my mental and physical health. I’d still have that baggage. Money isn’t magic. What is one of your favorite memories as a child? So many. I loved my childhood. It’s not that I didn’t have any struggles or obstacles, cause I did, but honestly that’s not what stands out. I was a strong, brave, resilient kid. Kid me would be so disappointed in current me. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do in your life? I’ve had a lot of struggles. How do you measure intelligence? I don’t know. There’s issues with the IQ test for one. Grades aren’t accurate representations of intelligence either; neither are exams. It’s a complicated thing.

What cartoons do you watch? Hey Arnold, Rugrats, and Doug. Have you ever used drugs? Only weed. If you were a Skittle, what flavor would it be? The red one I guess that’s the only one I liked. How would you describe your style? Very casual, ha. I wear leggings and oversized graphic tees. If you had to spend $1,000 in one hour, how would you spend it? Christmas presents for my family. What’s your favorite smell and why? I have many. Where do you buy your clothes? Mostly Hot Topic, Boxlunch, and Kohl’s. What’s your favorite kind of cake? White cake with buttercream frosting, funfetti/rainbow chip with funfetti/rainbow chip frosting, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, lemon with lemon frosting, and strawberry with strawberry frosting. Does intelligent life exist elsewhere in the universe? I don’t think there is in space, but what do I know. If you could eat anything right now, what would it be? I’m good right now. Are you into tattoos? Nah. Do you like photography? I mean, sure? I’m not a photographer, but I can appreciate nice photos. If you were a holiday, which one would you be? I love Christmas, but I’d probably be Halloween cause it’s dark and gloom, ha. Do you have any siblings? I have 2 brothers. If you were to get a tattoo, what would it be of? Girl, 5'10", questioning bi (definitely into guys. Still trying to figure out girls). I wear glasses. Which have a habit of falling down off my face…

INFP. I have trouble talking to people. Especially if it’s my first time meeting them. I tend to keep to myself and can sometimes seem a bit standoffish. I don’t mean to be rude or anything and I tend to apologize if I realize what I said seemed rude. Though I tend to apologize too much. I like when people are happy.

Once I start putting my walls down though? I’m almost the opposite. I tend to be much more talkative and wanting to hang out more. Though only with the person I let my walls down for of course. But sometimes I relapse. I’ll worry about annoying them and pull away for a while.

I like animals. Especially cats, tigers, frogs and anything fluffy. I really enjoy playing video games (except shooters cause I have horrible aim). I’m more used to playing by myself though so I won’t try and make someone play with me if they don’t want to. I also enjoy anime, manga and animated movies. Also bike riding. But only in places that don’t have too many big dogs running around.

I have a soft spot for cute things. And I like the idea of being pretty. Like, wearing a nice dress and just… feeling like a princess for a moment… But, well, it wouldn’t work.

I have low self-confidence, self-esteem, self-worth, self-whatever-else-I-made-have-missed. Plus depression and anxiety. But I am getting help. Even if it is slow going.

I’ve been hurt before. I tend to hide parts of myself that I think people won’t like (the therapy, the video games and manga, etc). To try and make sure I won’t give them another reason to hurt me. But again, you bring down the walls and that goes all out the window.

As you can see I have a bad habit of rambling. A lot. A lot a lot.

Back to Bangalore

8 months after returning to my home in Paris, I came back to India. I lived in Bangalore and took pictures of its inhabitants : tailors, rickshaw drivers, food truck merchants, flower and coconut juice sellers, housekeeper, ... I decided to search for the indians I had photographed.

Taking pictures enabled me to create a link with locals, know more about the culture and appreciate their kindness, honesty and generosity. It gave a meaning to my stay in India. Giving them back their own picture was important to me and was a way to thank them.

8 months later, I was back in Bangalore, walking around Ulsoor lake wearing my kurta just as if I’d never left the country.

And.. there he was.. The coconut juice seller !! just next to the Ashram, in front of the rickshaw drivers, standing at the same place.

When I gave him the picture, he smiled. He was amused to see his face printed on a picture and showed it to the people around him, laughing. As little can my efforts are, I could feel he was grateful. This picture which was mine, is now his, and this can’t make me happier. Being able to give back in return what people offered me.

Underneath, is the last picture I took with my camera before going back to France in April 2017. He is the watchman of one of the apartment residency next to my flat. Each residency has one, two, three or even more watchmen whose role is to keep the building safe and run properly : open the gate when a car comes, wash the cars, water the plants, do mechanics, note down on a register book the contact details of any unknown person who wants to come inside, etc. Those tasks don’t sound very fun but it is always nice to come back home feeling welcomed. At night, when I was going back home late, they were sleeping in their chair so I tried not to wake them up. I like seeing them standing with pride in their uniforms.

There was a district where I went several times to spend afternoons with families, drink chai and eat chicken biryani with them. They had noted down their adresses so that I’d be able to send them their pictures by post. I was afraid that my photographs would get lost and never get in their hands so I didn’t send any. I was feeling guilty not to send them the pictures.

Last time I had seen them was 8 months ago. While I was walking and trying to remember the way to go to their house, I was worried about their reaction.

First person I saw was Reena. “We were talking about you yesterday wondering what you had done with the pictures.” Reena is 18 now. She’s the one I was meeting most of the time after her classes with her aunts, grand mother and neighbours. She speaks english like any schooled kid so it was easier to communicate with her than with the +40 year old generation who didn’t have the chance to learn english at her age. I was happy to see how curious she still is as she kept asking me questions about my trip to India, my family and friends and when I was planning to come back again to Bangalore.

This young lady is Reena’s aunt. She carries her niece in her arms. She can’t have children and I doubt that she’d get married one day. It is not insignificant that she is standing on her knees. She can’t walk on her feet, half of her legs are paralyzed. The only way for her to move is to crawl on her knees.

I was lucky to see again Reena’s grand mother, Ambica. I was surprised that she could recognize me as she can barely see. She used to take my hand and take me to her “house” which is actually a room, to drink chai with her family.

And I will say it again and again : no matter how wealthy they are, indian women are all very elegant. To me, there is no such beauty than indian women. Colourful saris combined with golden jewels always perfectly fit to anyone.

First time I met them, kids and aunties were happy to play the game of posing in front of my camera. The pink-blue-white sari lady was showing to the girl how she should pose - like a “real” model.

The children were all very excited by this improvised photoshoot and suggested to the two little ones in the middle how they should stand.

On that one, you can see on the left, the shadows of the kids waiting for their turn to be photographed.

I found my route to their street. The kids were all surrounding me, grabbing the pictures and laughing. I wish I could have photographed once again the five beautiful aunties sited at the doorsteps but not all of them were there and some didn’t want me to take pictures again.

It is frustrating not being able to photograph what I have in mind and feel like a super National Geographic photographer, but I guess what’s most important is what I feel inside. I may not be able to share it but this precious moment is now printed in my mind, and that’s the only thing that really counts. Yes, i’m a bit sensitive.. loul

The lady drinking chai is the one wearing the pink-blue-white sari on the previous pictures. She looked at the photo and laughed saying she hadn’t arranged her hair that day.

I continued my walk and recognized the yellow house on my picture. The old lady was sitting in her chair like the first time we met. She was chatting with her neighbours or friends. “Namaskara”, I showed her the pictures. She was so surprised and happy that she took my hands and blessed me.

Even if the picture is all blurred, I like the fact that she has the same posture, right arm on the armrest, wearing her golden bracelets and nose ring. You can see that her son (on the first picture) made some painting work and replaced the pink by the blue colour.

I couldn’t find all my “models” like this boy as he and his dad moved to another market to sell chickens. The man who explained this to me was able to meet him again and give him the picture.

My investigation was not quite finished. I still had to found another boy. He had asked me to take a picture of him after he had seen me taking the portrait of the mechanic.

I like how he, shyly, strikes the pose. In the street where I photographed him, I asked a girl if she knew him.

“Yes, come ! come !” I followed her. She led me to the playing field where boys were playing football. She shouted the boy’s name and look at the picture with a big smile on his face. All of his friends ran and circled him to see what was going on. Then, they all jumped at the top of the grid shouting “picture ! picture !” to have a picture of them too.

You can see my little boy wearing the exact same blue and red sleeved t-shirt, his photo in his right hand, fourth position from the right.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t give the picture of two men. One of them was a “security guard” of a small shop selling fabrics near commercial street where I used to go every week.

I remember the minute before I took the picture, he straighten his back, put his glasses on, standing with pride. I recognized the shop, showed the photo and asked to the merchant where he was. “He is no more”. He told me he couldn’t give the picture to anyone as his family was living in Mysore.

I found again the small pink painted house. I knock at the door. An old man comes, looks at me with a strange look on his face and says something in kannanda I can’t understand. I show him the picture. His face suddenly fills with emotion : “My grandson!” He turns his face towards the room and shouts names. Three small little men come, hiding themselves behind their grandpa’. The man is very proud to stand with his grandsons for a new picture that I will give them next time.

Cyber (OC)

Name: Cyber Age: ??? Species: Digital Creature Gender: N/A Pronouns: Them/They, He/Him Height: 2′9″ Weight: Dog

A creature born from digital data who can take on a physical form. They are curious by nature and likes to explore, they will not stray too far from electronics if they can help it, as it it a safety net for them.

Can travel via internet and from device to device, both using their Jump Drive, allowing them to go from a physical form to a digital one. This allows them to go through cracks in walls and avoid physical damages. However jumps use power and they’ll need to recharge by going idle or going into an electronic device and taking power from it, or returning to their home device. Damages to a device will cause their systems to boot them out of the device as a safety precaution.

They are both dog like and cat like, having mostly dog like actions like tail wags, barking, and growling; but also cat like actions like loafing, jumping up and dashing when startled, and attracted to shiny moving objects.

They can cause damage to electronics they jump into if they so please, but they are a good doggo and prefer not to. They can try to repair things this way too, but they draw the line at computer viruses. They are scary and they do not want to get sick.

They can speak different human languages as well as binary, they’re attempting to learn dog, they are... kinda getting the hang of it.

They have a couple of verses, one of which is just a normal wandering verse where they’re having fun! That’s their normal tag, they’re out learning, exploring! Possibly getting into trouble and if need be going home for repairs. That’s the Digital Jumper tag as well his overall tag.

The second verse is focused on them learning alongside the family that made them, they go out and explore, but only because they got lost or are looking for stories to tell the child they help watch over. That’s the Helpful Pup || With Creators tag.

The third verse is focused on them waking up after being offline for a long time, things are in ruin and they have no idea why, but they don’t have answers since they can’t access the computer that they woke up from, having been booted out by their own systems to safety... and with no one around. A post apocalyptic or left behind verse. That’s the Searching for Answers || Awoken Alone tag.

The forth verse is augmented Cyber, both machine and doggo. Still able to jump, but now they must hunt and sleep too. They can repair themselves and they can speak multiple languages, binary, as well as dog and cat. They are not as trusting as the other versions of themselves and tend to be wary of anyone who comes close to them. Collects tech of all kinds in their old home, uses it to build and make adjustments to themselves if needed. They haven’t needed so they just build out of boredom. Or chase their tail. That’s the Augmented Doggo || Cyber tag.

After Sam had come back into the room, you separated yourself from Dean. Not because you wanted to, but because you knew you wouldn't be able to control yourself around him. All you wanted to do right now was run your hand up and down his arm, or reach over and grab his hand. But you held it in, listening to the brother's conversation instead.

"Sam, I'm not sure I like using her as bait." Dean argued.

"It's not like we're doing it on purpose. We are pretty sure he's going to go after her anyways. We just need to be ready for it." Sam replied back, while you sat there, glancing back and forth between the brothers, wondering if they would ever let you in on the conversation. Because it was mainly about you, and you figured you should at least have a say in the final outcome.

"True, but I still don't have to like it!" Dean argued, just as you cleared your throat. Both men looked your way, seeming to have forgotten that you were still in the room with them.

"Guys, I know you're the experienced hunters here, but it's my life on the line right now. And I would like to have some sort of say in what happens. I know you'll work hard to keep me safe, and I have complete faith in you." You spoke with authority as you stared straight into Dean's mesmerizing eyes.

Sam gave Dean a pointed look, before turning back to you. "Thank you. You're very brave, and I want you to know we will do everything we can to keep you safe."

Seeming jealous of his brother, Dean grabbed your hands, forcing your attention away from Sam, turning it back on him. His voice was a hushed whisper when he spoke, and you wondered if he didn't want his brother to hear what he was saying. "Listen, I know we haven't known each other very long. And that we are moving kind of fast. But I can't imagine anything happening to you, and I will do everything in my power to keep you safe."

You blushed under his intense gaze. "Thank you Dean, that means a lot. But now, what do I need to do? And how long do you think before he comes after me?"

Sam shrugged his shoulders. "I'm really not sure. This vengeful spirit hasn't really had any sort of schedule, so it could be anytime. We need to be prepared."

Dean was running his hand along his mouth as he thought. "Most couples were freshly in love, right?" He asked, and Sam confirmed it with a nod. "But then, they got into a little spat, and the guy left, leaving the woman alone in their room?"

"That's what each eye witness had said." Sam agreed.

Dean turned to look at you, a curious expression on his face. "So, what I'm thinking is we need Sam to leave, try to find what he's still attached to here. You and I will set up an argument, then I will leave, going into your room. When he arrives, you will knock on the wall, and I will come over, and hopefully we can trap him until Sam can salt and burn the item."

"But we don't even know what the item is?" You replied, a little frustrated.

Sam had a huge smile on his face, like he was the cat that caught the bird. "But while you guys were doing whatever it was, and please don't tell me, while I was gone, I found out something very important."

"And?" Both you and Dean said at the same time.

"And, he has his own person cigarette case that is part of the mini museum here." Sam answered, all smug with his new found knowledge.

"What the hell?" Dean yelled. "Why didn't you tell us that earlier?"

Sam just shrugged. "So, we have our plan. Now when should we act on it?"

You just listened in, knowing they had much more experience with this. Instead, you stared Dean's way, enjoying the way his muscle in his jaw clenched as he argued with his brother, or the way he licked his plump bottom lip before he spoke.

"Y/N? Are you listening to anything we are saying?" Dean asked, catching you staring his way.

Blushing hard, you ducked your head, letting your hair cover your flaming face. "Sorry, I wasn't."

You could hear the throaty chuckle of Dean, before he leaned forward, and tucked your hair behind your ear. "We were just saying we were going to get some dinner, hang out here for a couple of hours before we start with our plan."

"Oh, okay." You answered, your blush finally going away.

Sam stood up, and Dean followed suit. "What would you like?" Dean asked you, and you stared at them in confusion.

"I'm staying here?" You asked them, and they both nodded.

Dean was the one who explained to you. "We wanted you to have a chance to relax. We won't be gone very long, and he won't attack you yet. And we don't think he will attack in this room. But you have your knife and your salt to keep you safe."

You nodded, not sure you were happy with being left behind. But Dean gave you a confident wink before leaving the room, and you could only watch as they left the room. Grabbing the salt, you sat on the bed, waiting for the signs that a ghost might come. You knew you were being paranoid, but you couldn't help yourself. You hated being this nervous, but finding out you were the next victim had kind of freaked you out.

Minutes passed, and nothing happened. Calming down a little, you turned the TV on, settling on some sort of comedy. The sound lulling you, you closed your eyes, leaning against the headboard. With everything that had happened recently, you hadn't had the greatest night's sleep, and you were more than exhausted.

As you drifted to sleep, you felt the room slowly grow colder, and soon you were shivering, reaching for the blanket. It was then you came to with a start, knowing you were no longer alone.
