Right now, Twitter (or whatever it’s called now) is the only social app that allows PRIVATE ACCOUNTS (instagram doesn’t count because you can’t have text posts. You expect me to post an image every time I want to vent? Facebook also doesn’t count because I hate it.)

I know we have the ability currently to make our side blogs private, but here’s the issue with that for me:

1. They can’t be FOLLOWED, you can apparently only add “members” to the blog.

2. I thought I had more points but really it keeps coming back to the fact that they can’t be followed. I don’t want to put in a password every time I want to check in on a friend. The convenience of making your own private blog and following your friends’ private blogs cannot be overstated. It’s the ONE THING that’s keeping me attached to twitter.

What’s so great about having a private blog?

Safety. Toggle your blog to “Private” in Visibility settings if you need a breather from outside attention. Only your followers will be able to see any new posts you make. Old posts will still be visible outside your blog however, similar to when a blog is deactivated I assume.

Friends-only space. Sharing thoughts and art with only a few close friends is more comfortable for a lot of people.

Actual privacy. Even if you have 0 followers, even if you don’t use tags, the tumblr search will still pull up any word used in the post itself, meaning if someone searches the right thing, your posts could still show up to anyone. Setting your blog to private would remove this concern.

Journaling. Private twitters are nice, but a private tumblr? Getting to write out a BIG LENGTHY RANT for only close friends? Hell yea

Keep explicit content away from those who don’t want to see it. Setting a blog to private is a great way to keep certain art and writings out of easily reachable spaces.

Another bridged gap between twitter and tumblr. Ok listen. I’m not necessarily advocating for every twitter user to join tumblr. But I know that’s something the tumblr staff is interested in, so I’m adding it here for that reason. I for one would ditch twitter in a heartbeat if I could have a private blog, and would probably have an easier time convincing some straggling friends to join for a feature like this. Just sayin

too fidgety to sit and watch you do anything for too long, but he’ll offer to drive you to a vista for some inspiration while he does his usual scouting routes, miko tagging along of course. she’ll probably bring her sketchbook with her and sit next to you and draw, chattering the entire time while blasting some music from her ipod, offering you one of her earbuds

Arcee:

similar to ratchet she takes a while to get used to you, a little cold at first to your attempts at friendliness

she notices how happy you seem to make everyone else and eventually makes a legitimate pass at being friendly despite how awkward it feels

will eventually, with your encouragement, try and make something original - he ends up finding it pretty soothing and an easier way to feel understood; communicating his feelings without words can be unsurprisingly helpful for someone who can’t use any of his own

you’ll spend hours hanging out and working on your stuff - he likes when you help him with his own art, adding your own brushstrokes to the concrete wall

he’ll let you sit up on his shoulder just to watch him make whatever he feels like making, or even just taking you on joyrides in the desert where he doesnt need to worry about anything going wrong

Okay, moved onto the asks because there's a bigger character limit here.

I'll tell you some common terms of TF writing here in a sec. First, I'm just going to say that you might notice a common tag on anything Transformers related. This is #maccadam

The Transformers fandom essentially use this to mean Transformers, other than the obvious #Transformers tags.

This is purely because a few years ago, there was a show, Transformers Animated or TFA, and the tag got taken over by The Force Awakens from Star Wars. So now, on like every TF post, most fans use the #maccadam tag. It's literally a comic reference that was Maccadams bar and was where all the bots used to meet up on Cybertron pre-war.

Anywho, body terms, I'll go from high to low. You don't have to use all of these all the time, you can still use words like hands and the like, it's just nice for a change of pace to write the terms sometimes.

Helm - This is just the head / forehead.

Optical ridge - Eyebrow

Optics - Eyes

Coolant- Tears

Olfactory sensor (rarely used) - Nose

Glossa - Tongue

Vocaliser - Their voice / voice box.

Some bots like Optimus have a face plate, that's just the bit they use to protect their lower face in battle and it can slide away. Not all bots have mouths beneath their face plates, some have intake ports instead, which is more like a small hole in the face. With an intake port, it's usually assumed that their partners simply kiss their faceplate instead.

Neck cables - These speak for themselves but it's a widely accepted Cybertronian kink to have them pulled.

Chassis - Chest.

Servos - Hands

Digits - Fingers

Spark - Heart. There's a lot of info about sparks tbh and if you want me to go into it I will in another post. But ultimately yeah, just the heart which is more of a concentrated ball of electricity, surrounded by the protective spark casing. Another TF kink between couples who trust each other intimately is spark play, which is more or less just feeling around the sensitive spark casing.

Interface array - Genitals.

Interface panel - the part that slides away to reveal the interface array.

Spike - Penis, located above the valve.

Valve - Vagina, cos Transformers have both.

Trans-Fluid - Cum.

Huge Shai rant, or ventting, idk tdlr twitter bad and I wanan complain about it, you can go now... I have managed to crumb away my twitter usage by a lot the past few weeks, very proud of it. Still, I wanna complain. That site continues to be a shitshow, it's so bad. The comment section of majority of popular tweets is a parody of that site. I feel like i have to wear dive gear when I go into the comments section. I have to pass through thousands, of random bluecheck bot accounts posting random videos under it. It's so annoying... If you managed to pas through them, your reward is more bluecheck mark users, who you can tell they are people, but act like chat GPT designed them. After passing through all that trash, you may eventually see non-bluecheck comments, but even then they may be trash. Like somehow there's a big number of people who just comment there to tag a random bot. Idk why u need a bot to take a screenshot, but ok. Then there's those who just tag random bots to download the video or audio... I can understand those, but still really annoying. It's like the website is trying to encoraje me to stop using it. There's no way Im going to waste my time blocking thousands of accounts to keep using it. If it wasn't for all the artists that I follow there and continue to only post on that hell. I would have stopped but alas... I used to have another reason to be there, it was the friendships, but they seem to have been kinda lost now? Faded away. Since despite my best efforts to convince them "twitter rlly bad, please move with me to tumblr, plz". They either refuse to move out of it or instead just... dont use either lmao. definitely dusk, a sandman dreamling fic! MCD isn't usually my thing, but I really wanted to explore that in this fic.

oooh hmm. "happy ending" is super vague to me ngl, but for most traditionally "and they lived happily ever after," I'll go with my soukoku royalty AU, thy kingdom come.

oooh I've never gotten explicit hate! I've gotten unsolicited concrit and some more bizarre comments that I've ignored before though haha.

9. Do you write smut?

nope! I've written some more suggestive scenes in some of my fics (Let the River Rush In and circus freak, for example), but for the time being at least I'm not really interested in writing it.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Yes! The Promise of the World, which is a natsuyuu/howl's moving castle crossover, and Letters from Heaven, which is a HQ/Violet Evergarden crossover. Crossovers to me are really fun thought exercises; I like to see how certain events or characters can be interpreted in another canon.

oooh, i have a kawoshin fic that lives rent free in my drafts and in my mind. i started it maybe 7 years ago? it is, in theory, a semi-canon compliant multiverse fic that combines manga, anime, and reboot movies canon, all centered around kaworu my beloved and his relationship with shinji. maybe one day I'll pick it up again! (I still need to see the last movie...)

16. What are your writing strengths?

ooh! hmm, I'd probably say interiority? love me some good introspection. a lot of my more recent fics especially are just excuses to dive into my faves' heads while something else happens in the background

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

PLOT lmao. most of my plot-heavy fics are crossovers bc they're based on events that are already lined out for me! which gives me more room to explore how my charas act and interact in an established story. surprise, even my plottier fics are really just character studies in disguise >:3 still, I would like to improve on this one day! just need to think of,,,an idea ajsldkfj

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've never done it before, but like with any kind of writing tool, I think it works if you do it right. no bella, where have you been, loca? pfffft

I read that same fic earlier and I just straight up muted the person so their works don't show up for me anymore lmao

there was also another one like that posted yesterday because the person was mad at something qBad did a couple of days ago while not at all in his right mind and amnesiac, it was odd (not shitting on the person just confused and slightly concerned)

yeah there’s. a lot of misconceptions around qbad rn lmao. It’s one of the reasons Im so obnoxious about him, tbh, so that it’s not JUST the negativity that gets spread. He’s a really good target for the hate rn, because he has a smaller fanbase and his pvp playstyle + lore lead him to all that antagonizing during purgatory, and that gets vented out into fics.

It’s genuinely really interesting, the dichotomy that seems to exist between tumblr and twitter regarding him. Ive heard nothing but slander about bbh from twitter (again, he is not faking his illness, that is a lie), but he’s got a solid enough foothold on tumblr that ive seen more hate towards the fans that the cc, here. which makes sense, given how we take over the tag almost ever day when he logs on. genuine o7 to people who find that obnoxious but thats one of the reasons i overtag so much, for blocking purposes.

anyway i think all the bbh mischaracterization means that we just need to write about him more >:D please this is a call for more bbh centric fics from people who do not hate him/know a little bit about his lore. blease he’s such a fun pov to write i promise

Tbh this post and the tag comments keeps making me think because; it truly seems like some fellas don't know how to control their own knee jerk reactions to weird people

And its like- I can be an asshole. I get Asshole thoughts all the time. I see an stranger being a bit weird or awkward in a way i dont like and monke brain goes "lmao we should maul this guy". But what is what one must do? Not just follow the natural instinct, but instead pause and reflect "oh but is this fella doing anything harmful? Are they insulting me or messing with me? Am i strongly disagreeing with an opinion of theirs? Or are they just being themselves and having fun in a way i don't vibe with?" Dont just act based on feelings but instead reflect on them and then figure out a way to react accordingly.

If a person is just living their life then the best thing to do is not to antagonize them but rather just let them do whatever, or communicate directly what the issue is and see how both of you can find a way to solve it and coexist peacefully, all while venting the frustration through a diff outlet that won't harm the other.

And like i know its not that simple- a lot of this branch of thought comes from me having nasty social anxiety, and also the fact that i do can slip and be, well, an asshole. I am absolutely no saint. But the point is that your discomfort with another person isn't a permision into attacking them and there are better solutions than that

#me rambles #this one turned out very rambly woops. but yea that post wouldnt leave my head #idk im on that funny diet autismos spot #where i both know the horrors of butchered social interactions to the point of nasty anxiety whenever i mess up the social script #but also can navigate them pretty well most of the time. and also have grown that sort of- #'well put more effort into it and get over it' mentality that comes with being told im 'normal' just 'lazy an anxious' #and tbh that stubborn mentality has helped me to push through. but it can also make me unempathetic with others struggles. even with my own #bc its frustrating to me that you cant just solve shit w willpower even when logically you cant. but i cant move that frustration to- #the ppl struggling bc it'd solve nothing and i'd be harming them further. it would be awful #so the point is to not just act on feels bc they can be harmful. but instead think before acting. not neglecting those feels but rerouting- #them into harmless or helpful actions #anyways. this turned into self reflection so yea that's why the self centered language. still; apologies if it gets grating #delete later #i guess?
