I've grown to be exhausted of the MCU. like I have no interest in seeing anything that comes out anymore. It feels almost bloated now, after Endgame. A lot of it is bland and feels too much like military propaganda. Marvel girl had style to it i guess. But I generally don't care for it like I did when I was younger.

I think the biggest disappointment about Crisp Rat's performance as Mario is that unless it is a separated at birth situation Charlie Day was probably directed to speak in a similar manor as Luigi.

ok ok so ive seen a lot of people being like “wow the mario trailers animation looks so good!!” and like yeah the lighting and textures look really impressive but i cant help but feel like it was the wrong look for the movie??? i feel like mario has an inherently goofy premise and the realistic textures are just,, hm,, they convey the wrong feel, its like its creating this weird dissonance in my brain of “oh cool silly talking toadstool people!! penguin civilisation!!” combining with “the grass is realistic 💀💀 the penguin fur (??) is realistic💀💀”

plus the characters in mario are Stylised and my personal headcanon as to why mario looks like he ate a bee in the movie is because the realistic textures didnt match with his original model so they changed him instead of the textures,,, which if thats true is just so uh hhhh

like its not right how they messed with the Main Character like mario is the character to get right in this movie!! hes the main character!! he needs to be enjoyable for 90 minutes!! but instead they gave him crisp rat voice and made him eat a bee

#and im not gonna get into the way realistic textures are just so disappointing to see in the animation industry #like dont get me wrong its amazing to see pixar render things so realistically #like they really push what you can do with cg animation from a texture and lighting standpoint #but also they kind of made realistic textures a standard in the industry #which is so dissapointing because its not using animation as a medium to its full potential #also pixar knows realisms place #movies like soul and toy story take place in our world #they’re not overly fantastical #but you’ll notice with movies like luca and turning red they move away from the realistic textures #giving it a more stylised look #which helps your suspension of disbelief!! #and i feel like since the mario movie takes place in an entirely fictional world they should’ve moved away from those realistic textures #idk it’d just suspend the disbelief better #but i do think its impressive how they have those textures and the look of the movie doesn’t cross into the uncanny valley #anyway dont give illumination your money kids #mario movie #crisp rat
