The whole party — at least for you — was torture.

You liked being with your friends, of course. That was the good part. However, you absolutely despised not being able to be with your lover.

Ayato's sneaky attempts at interacting with you made it even worse.

Like when he'd always make sure to pass by your table whenever he got up to get food and drinks. Or like that one time when you went to the restroom and he was waiting for you not that far from the outside, only to pass by you and have your shoulders bump (you could also smell his signature lavender scent again). Or whenever he'd increase the volume of his voice whenever you're around just to make sure that you can hear his alluring voice.

You don't know if he was doing this to help or if he was teasing you on purpose.

All you know is that these little moments aren't enough to satiate yourself.

"You won't drink?" Lumine, who has been your companion for the most of the party, asked while holding her own glass of liquor. You shook your head no, followed with a quick reply of how you tried out one cocktail earlier and that it was enough.

You did not want to get drunk, not even tipsy. As if the several cameras in the venue were not enough to make you cautious, there were also some keen observing eyes. Some weren't even content with just observing. Some celebrities in there, despite not being close with you, had the guts to ask you about this so-called mysterious boyfriend of yours.

You cannot afford to get drunk and make the mistake of spilling your private affair.

After you urged Lumine to get up and have fun with the others, you were left alone in your table. Not for long, though.

"Everything okay?" Scaramouche asked. He was behind you and was leaning slightly, supporting himself with his palms that sat on the back of your chair.

"Yeah," you smiled at him. "You should hangout with the others."

"You sure you're staying here?"

You hummed. He didn't push you further and just followed your suggestion. Little do you know, someone witnessed this little moment.

You looked around, eyes automatically searching for the people you know, only to discover that they are all not alone.

Childe, one of your close friends, strayed away from his own group momentarily and blended into yours. Soon after, you saw him being dragged by Yoimiya towards where she originally was — together with Itto and Thoma. The girl laughed as Thoma sported an annoyed look on his face.

You also spied Aether and Ayaka sitting together at some couch. The way they fiddled their hands together while leaning on each other did not escape your eyes.

You started to scan the room for your beloved's presence.

Your roaming gaze stopped at the sight of a fine, blue-haired ethereal being. He was seated across you, but far away. He had this certain posture — seated straight, cross-legged, palms resting above his knees. An unreadable expression was plastered on his face, but a striking stare was directed against your eyes. Due to the distance, you almost missed the way his eyes glimmered, if not for the dimmed lights in the hall.

Even this late into the party, he looked so put-together. So attractive. So perfect.

So desirable.

You gulped and looked away, all while being slightly irritated by the situation. You wanted to spend the whole party together with Ayato so bad.

You wanted him so bad.

It was harder to resist each other once both of you were aware of the other's whereabouts. You wanted to ignore him, you really did. But your subconscious begged to differ.

Your body was uncooperative with your sound mind, looking back to steal a glance of your secret lover. His eyes moved, motioning towards the darkest part of the venue, where no cameras were present. Just in case you didn't get his message, he also angled his head, pointing that way.

You subtly nodded, heading there first. You busied yourself, pretending to do something to not gain unwanted attention by looking like you were waiting for someone. However, after barely even a minute, Ayato arrived as well.

Despite being in the best place possible for secret agendas, the two of you took measures. It never hurts to be careful, after all. You both stood side-by-side, arms almost touching, and faced opposite directions.

As if he was preparing himself for walking, he took a step back, inching closer to you in the process. Your fingers grazed each other's, sending shivers down your spine.

Your hands tingled.

"You know my car, love," He spoke in a hush tone before silently disappearing towards the exit.

A few minutes after Ayato left, you couldn't wait anymore and decided to discreetly head out as well.

The party was far from over, almost everyone invited was still inside, and the night was still young — but you didn't care. You didn't even bother to tell your friends you were leaving.

Your mind was just screaming about one thing: him.

You looked around, wary of people who might see you. While remaining alert, you headed to the back of the building, where your boyfriend was probably waiting inside his fancy car.

You spotted a sleek four-wheeled vehicle parked there, with tinted windows and a well-maintained exterior. Your eyes travelled toward the car's plate. Bingo.

You hastened your pace. Opened the door to the passenger seat. And while catching your breath, you said, "hi."

Your man was just chilling inside, seated comfortably on the driver's seat. "Hey."

Airy chuckles and genuine laughs filled the air as you entered and sat down. "I missed you," he mumbled while he played with your hands. You hummed. "I did too."

"You looked so good tonight, love."

"Oh? Thank you. You're too kind, sir."

Ayato smirked and grabbed your chin, tilting your face upwards slightly to match his gaze.

"You look better with me though."

He finally went in for the kiss.

The taste of his lips was intoxicating, even more than the cocktail you had earlier. You felt light-headed as Ayato continuously chased your lips with relish, his hands finding their way to your nape and jaw.

"You're so —" He sighed. You shuddered. "So fucking perfect," Ayato smiled, his lips still against yours.

"You're one to talk, stupid."

Your hands kept shaking, not knowing where to rest them. All the restlessness from earlier piled up. All your holding back from earlier was catching up with you, flowing like electricity in your veins — stimulating you.

Ayato's hand, formerly resting on your nape, found one of yours. "You're shaking," he whispered.

"Your fault." You gave him a peck.

This signalled him to continue even more.

Your pining for each other was painfully obvious. In mere moments, the inside of the car turned hot. It was suffocating, it was hard to breathe. You felt insane — limbs busy, skins marked, eyes hazy, and mind gone.

You don't even know how you ended up on his lap.

"You didn't drink either?" You questioned as you pulled away, hands on his chest. Though inebriating, he did not taste like liquor at all, nor did he smell like it.

He breathed, "I barely did."

"Oh?" Your lips curved as you felt one of his hands rest on your waist, the other remained caressing your jaw. "Why?"

"I don't want to get drunk on alcohol." He leaned closer, your noses touching, lips almost reuniting. "I want to get drunk on you."

Fear of a Blank Planet - Porcupine Tree: i was listening to songs that were in control at some point and idk why but the moment this was on i suddenly got?? so many long hair toby thoughts??? very fitting for him honestly. Obviously only some parts of the lyrics are fitting (which seems to be the case for most songs) but um. yeah. thank my obsession with control soundtrack for accidentally creating long hair toby. After leaving the family he kinda got into this very...unhealthy kind of behavior in which he basically either spent his time working A Lot (or doing some side gigs bc no matter how smart you are i doubt a junior chemist's salary in udl would let you pay for your rent and necessities properly) or spent in clubs or sitting all alone at his apartment doing something or having sex. Additionally I'd mention how his substance use got v high, specifically smoking and drugs. I'm pretty sure corporations actually encouraged their workers to use them to get better productivity and all even on Earth, and while Toby didn't really care abt the whole 'be profuctive' thing, boy did he enjoy getting rid of feelings and having more focus.

now to get the quick ones out of the way — i was DYING for someone to notice the contact name in "heart rhythm" and listen i was laughing my ass off the moment i decided on the name because on the other hand i had a cute theme in mind but i was like nah, let my crackheadedness show <3 and yes! i am a violinist :)

glad i could awaken the musical bone in you hehe. i actually posted a random post about a very specific idea i had featuring violinist reader and pianist kuni but that's a whole can of worms that i'd rather save for another time because .. well, my kabuki series lmao

now for the collection of birthday hcs i posted........ oh boy, let's go:

. kabukimono is actually so fucking proud of himself. especially so since i was running along with the imagery that is him being a mess in the kitchen, not only that; but you always occupy yourself with making him what he likes, why not reciprocate the gesture? he found out it was your birthday through niwa who urged you to come over for tea and have a chat. katsuragi spent just about the whole day to early afternoon looking for kabu only to see bro cooking up in your shared home, and katsu ended up tagging along! i like to imagine that kabu finds solace or some form of acceptance when he's around humans like you for instance; a human who sees him as one of their own. kabuki felt something akin to relief wash over him as katsuragi stuck around and helped him by providing tips on making your favorites for your birthday. he felt alive, human. and that smile of sheer delight on his face was not only because he saw your smile at his simple method to celebrate, but also because he felt accomplished. he repaid you for a simple gesture you never hesitated to do for him.

. kuronushi is a man of both words and actions. when it came to how he should make you happy, he surprisingly found a little bit of difficulty in figuring it out because and i quote, “knowing you're here is enough to make me smile, 'nushi.” so what? is he supposed to simply stay by your side for the remainder of the day? that simply won't do and isn't enough of a gift for you; an individual who practically made his existence more meaningful to him. such a simple gesture like staying by your side, while something he does more often than not, simply isn't enough as stated. and so, just exactly a day before your birthday, he excused himself by leaving a note that said he's out on an inspiration walk. by the time he arrived to kannazuka island, the atmosphere was exactly what he desired; partially cloudy with an auspicious breeze and most importantly, the stage was all his as his brush began to make short work of the once empty scrolls, and as cheesy as it sounds the dim and gentle lighting of the sun emitting from the clouds above reminded him of you. which helped immensely with his inspiration. honestly, a simple portrait isn't enough to capture your radiance, but if he had to give a gift he'd make with what he has, it'll be this for now.

. kunikuzushi is an interesting case. once unnecessary now an absolute fucking must as he simply looks at you while you sleep at an ungodly time of 2 a.m. a frustrated frown slowly but surely painting his face as he juices his non-existent brain out on how exactly he should make you smile on your supposed special day. the things he does for you, all due to those mind boggling emotions you allowed his mechanical heart to influence. the first time he took you to said café; people were staring. eyes not only on him but you, how come his benevolence be with an ordinary individual? on a simple get-together no less... he finds offense in the stares that were mainly on him, why? is it so strange for him to be sighted like this? foolish mortals won't begin to understand how he chooses to spend a day he deems dear to him. now breaking from writer ayame for a bit YOU'RE SO REAL ABOUT HIM JUST SNAPPING AT PEOPLE WHO WERE STARING ;; the next time he took you to that café at the same day, you were taken aback by seeing no one other than the workers in sight.

. somehow in someway, wanderer has found himself in the company of buer, the aranara and you — while nahida is partially correct about this being his idea; he meant only you along with him and the little sprout. not with the company of talking cabbages! but alas, here he was at the small table sitting by your side as his aranara lookalike is chatting the tea party away with along with nahida who's elated to finally know more of you. he couldn't bring himself to ( or rather was unable to ) convince nahida otherwise about her idea, not when you looked both interested and excited, more than willing to go. he was quiet for the most part, only deciding to chat if he was brought into the conversation which contradicting what i said earlier, he ended up using his voice quiet a lot; from indulging you in your lighthearted remarks to indulging nahida's playful inquiries and teasing. it felt a lot more like a family gathering than a birthday celebration, but if he to admit to himself at most, he enjoyed it while it lasted.

It's little things like this that make him feel like he truly belongs.)

Hello! I’m not opposed to it and that goes with the other members too :) I often just focus on the story idea and then just add a member that fits the most to that. Not because of their personalities or whatever, it’s hard to explain but sometimes I think of a story idea and I’m like “oh this will be ___ story”.

Hope World is my only Hoseok series (🥲 still on hold in case someone wants to ask) and he is pretty much dancer in it lol. But if I was to write another series or story with him, it would be different than HW!

he's so patient with reid that i for sure see him also showing that same patience to you. like if you're rambling for too long (and let's be real if you're an agent then you and reid are feeding off each other) hotch will just gently/quietly reel you back in to get back on task

back to the patience, i can see him helping in social situations too, if you're ever confused, he'll explain or even keep you from speaking at maybe an inappropriate time. you're usually good on picking up certain things, but he fills in the gaps where you miss other cues

ALSO for my own guilty pleasure, he's defensive as hell. if anyone tries to talk down to you like you're a child or says some bullshit about how "they never would've guessed you're autistic!!!!" hotch is right there to call them out on it. he has your back all the time, especially after you decide to be more open about being autistic in public/at work

he's also super supportive of whether or not you want to pursue an official diagnosis. he believes you no matter what and wants you to do what's best for you, with or without the "official" diagnosis

he's such a protective person in general that i feel like he's the best during/after autistic meltdowns when you feel so out of control. he's right there to ground you and do whatever you need, even if that's just him sitting with you until it passes

i totally get what you're saying about younger fans calling them old because they're too young for them but still hot etc etc. i know that's not some ill intent, clearly. however, what bothers me about the question of 'old' age in fandom spaces is this - for some 'old' starts somewhere around 35+ and they mean it (i wonder what they call a 50 yo? a corpse probably). and yeah of course for 16 yo 35 is twice their age but i wouldn't have even the slightest problem with it because i've been in fandom spaces since i was maybe 14 and stumbled upon people of different ages and backgrounds and we can all coexist quite fine. but what i see now (and maybe again, that's like a recurring generational thing, i don't know, i'm not that old and i wasn't in english spaces until i got at least 18-20 so) - those younger fans repeatedly saying 'you're 30 and in fandom? get out. go find some appropriate hobbies for your age group, like fishing hehe'. like it's fine to be horny over some dudes twice (or even more) your age, but people who in reality are not even that far from you, because usually it's 20 somethings who write such things - and it's a crime. you're suddenly gross. i wonder what those kids would do without all the stuff written, drawn and giffed by those who have a child on one hand, a full time job on the other, and their age appropriate hobbies in between. like when i was a tiny fan i was like 'holy shit that person somehow found a way to update that long ass sherlock fic while being neck deep in her family things and work i wanna be like them!" and it also gave me hope about the future of my fandom life. like age shouldn't matter. but now i see this shit, the whole 'more than 3 yo age difference is pedo' talk, 'adult creators shouldn't post anything because children can see' talk etc etc. and i know, of course, that that's the general internet censorship on the rise and neopuritanism is dancing tango with it but still.

what i'm saying - i do have a problem with younger generation using the term old very 'loosely' because they wield it as a double aged sword. you're either some hot dilf who can be forgiven for your shitty fandom takes because well you're hot (and i'm not talking about anyone in particular here rn) or you're a gross 30 smth in fandom space who shouldn't draw porn because teens can't click the block button

first - if we're talking canon ages. 40 smth and this is dean's age at the end of the show - is NOT old. at all. i can't even call him that affectionately. because this is the tragedy of it all - he dies YOUNG. very fucking young, he didn't see any calm life, didn't pursue his dreams, didn't have a normal life and love and then he died. in a way, and i see some others think the same, calling him old is like 'welp it's not that bad, he lived long enough, seen shit'. but the thing is - he didn't? literally. so no, for me he's young, died young and it's fucking awful. not talking about cas here because well, billions years, old, young, he's everything (<3)

if we're talking about post canon fics where they settle. you can all burn me at the stake but sadly my spirit will just repeat the same shit - making them some kind of a wannabe hetero aging couple is not only boring as fuck, but also completely out of character for them?

dean being some kind of a soccer mom who bakes and argues with other moms

cas being more of a dad shaped thing who gardens and Doesn't Get It at the parents' meetings or somewhere equally boring and somehow still clueless about a lot of human shit

them creaking every part of their bodies (jesus my joints have been like this since i was 14, and my back is bad now when i'm only 30 where is my retirement pakige?)

probably forgetting smth but you get the gist. and, again, not saying that that's ALL i see with the old men posts and art etc (some hcs are wild and i LOVE them), but the majority? yeag, i've been permanently a destiel blogger for 4 years now, i've seen the popular stuff

doesn't all of that remind you of a typical heterosexual family on some conservative cable tv show? if not i'm happy for you, but i can't help but see how the roles are set in stone and i don't find it endearing at all. that's one reason. and also i'm a strong believer that a baby won't fix dean. jack won't fix shit and here's another stick to my pyre - i don't care about him at all and i think that dean especially should focus on himself and his own shit and his shit with cas if they settle together, not be thrown into the baby routine again. the fandom likes to remind everyone how dean raised sam and it's mostly true but don't you think for one goddamn second he would want/need to live for himself and not over obsess about bringing up another kid? sure he loves them, but if every person with dean's baggage were trusted with kids as a cure-al ...well. and again very hetero, 'you should have a child, that'll fix your hysteria!' i'll even say, very real life stuff, just not the one i want to see here.

another reason is this - they are freaks.

they are assholes, freaks, serial killers, undead creatures, bad people...who are very much in love and very soft with each other and their family but they are still freaks. and i don't understand how them getting old will so fundamentally change so many aspects of their characters that they become typical suburban mom and dad combo. maybe i sound like a person who doesn't want them to be happy, or who doesn't get the 'it shows that their life is finally calm and they can pursue Normal Hobbies and Raise Kids and Build a Farm (idk how that is a calm place have you ever been on a farm with animals that you should watch and take care and kill if needed. another talk for another time) and To Love is to be Changed' etc etc etc. believe me i get it all perfectly, just not for them. if it tickles your pickle, by all means. what tickles mine is cas getting the weirdest (and often dangerous) hobbies (and this is why i got him driving a motorcycle, boxing and skydiving in my old men cheating fic) and he's an impatient guy so i don't think he'd love gardening really, he'd be mad at the plants and kill them or grow them as fast as his grace would allow (yes i'm also against human all the way cas, baby we're getting a bingo here). and dean of course should have ties with his community and i've already talked about this but i see how they are out of active hunting, but still help those who are still in it (if the supernatural isn't wiped completely and i don't see why it should be), maybe they always have a place in their home for those who come to regroup or just to chat or smth. and dean is an overprotective and micromanaging asshole so he would want to still have the gist of it all (and cas would want to unwind by killing some things from time to time)...and they still sleep in the same bed, eat the food they cook together, wear matching tatts maybe as a wedding gift to each other, and have dogs, cats and whatnot.

what i want to say - i don't get why the weird and the sweet can't coexist. why should they lose all of their insane bits. they loved each other WITH them (cursed or not remember) why should they change so drastically to fit the 'happily ever after' narrative.

anyway i can probably write a lot more but that's a long ass grumbling as it is.

Second of all, YES! The ending doesn't mean it's all resolved. Not at all. It just means that she's finally ready to be honest with herself, with Joel, and also with Tommy (since he knows now anyway). I guess we'll have to see if Joel makes the right call in the next part and is able to reassure reader somehow that he really is serious about her 😌. What I have planned for sure is to write out the confrontation between Joel and Tommy. I dunno yet if I'll post it separately or within the next part, but it's coming.

I think Tommy sees a lot of himself in reader and that's why he understands her so well. And she is comfortable with him 'cause she really feels like he does understand her without judging her. Plus, he's proven over time that he won't abandon her, and that's also huge for her.

At this point, their relationship is platonic and they both appreciate it for what it is. I'm not gonna tell you if that was always the case or if they had more going on after their first night (or even what happened there exactly). Maybe I will some day, but for now, you're free to imagine whatever you like 😋.

I could imagine that Joel's got his own thoughts/questions about their relationship though hehe. But, as @pattwtf and I discussed, I'm positive that Joel honestly wouldn't care either way.

Sorry for making you wait for a reply! I wanted to get to a point in Izuna's fic that it was obvious what was going to happen before I answered, and then I realized I hadn't thought about how Itachi might meet his alpha. Sometimes we like the fluffy stuff and my brain had jumped right over "first meetings" and the hardships of a forming relationship to "domestic/mated" hc's. Here's what I came up with after a few days of thinking it over:

Itachi

When there is a strong enough tie, there is no single way to meet someone who's fate crosses paths with yours

Itachi meets his alpha twice

The first time, you were students in the academy. He was well admired by most of the other students, including the person who would be come his alpha

Even though he graduated early, the alpha stayed friendly with him and asked him how he knew to solve certain problems so quickly - essentially their admiration and friendship became such that the alpha used Itachi as a baseline of success and strove for a level of success that emulated their perceptions of him

When Itachi kills his clan and leaves the village, the alpha doesn't believe that the rumors are telling the whole truth. Itachi never did anything without a reason.

If the Alpha is nosy enough (which they are), they probably find out enough of the truth to either get in trouble and have to flee for safety or simply decide to go find Itachi on their own just like when they were kids, knowing that there's maybe no way home. The Alpha wants to know if their assessment of the situation is correct (but also... the kind of person who would put Itachi through something like this is no one you want to serve)

Itachi's second first meeting is when they're both different people and the Alpha shows up while he and Kisame are wandering around.

"I know what happened," you say. Landing right in front of two Akatsuki members is not the best idea you've ever had, but you're not as scared as you thought you would be. The Hidden Mist shinobi, notable for how he's almost a head and a half taller than Itachi and looks like a shark, catches sight of you and grins. You tear your gaze away from him. You're probably going to die anyways, doesn't matter if it's going to be him or how he's going to do it. "Do you now?" Itachi's eyes and his voice are colder than you remember. You shrug. You made peace with the ways this could go last night. "As much as anyone ever knows anything, based upon their own assumptions." Itachi huffs, you'd almost call it a laugh with how similar it is to the sound he would make every time the two of you had done this in the past. "And what are you assumptions?" he asks, mocking. "That I couldn't be the one to do it?" "That maybe there weren't any other good options." You cocked your head to the side, the same direction Itachi's partner was standing. "Do you really want to do this on the road?" Itachi's eyes were already activated, and it was between one heartbeat and the next that you and he were standing alone, wind bending the grass along the road. You're not sure when he cast the genjustu. It could have been the moment you showed up, it could have been after you began to speak, but he's made it obvious, which at least means he's listening.

Alpha lays out what they've figured out from studying village history, listening to what is said between villagers and other shinobi, and mostly tracking the village's power plays.

Honestly it's not much, since the reality was made of so many secret pieces. The theory mostly started based on the Alpha's confidence that Itachi didn't have the necessary pride to actually kill everyone except his brother as a skill test.

In this case the lack of publicly available knowledge about the sharingan and how it can be activated and passed down worked out in your favor.

Ultimately, they just want to know if he committed the massacre because of an order or a personal issue, although the extremity of his actions makes them suspect it was an order. Itachi is super exasperated even if his face doesn't do anything. He's supposed to do this alone, not get confronted with the confidence of someone he used to know.

Itachi tries to warn them off, but does admit that the dark side of the village (Danzo) probably has them on a radar by now. Better to let you tag along. At least he can keep an eye on you this way. It wouldn't do for his secrets to get out if you've figure it out. He can always kill you later.

"You aren't getting sentimental on me, are you Itachi?" his companion asks. Itachi blinks, his sharingan fading away. "You can say something when you learn how to cook, Kisame."

Kisame feels offended. There's nothing wrong with raw fish 24/7/365. Does Itachi know how expensive sashimi is when you don't do it yourself?

This new version of Itachi is depressing and depressed. He's not just quiet, he's silent, which is creepy when he sneaks up on you one too many times when you have to move camp further into the woods (you and he are probably 16-17 at this point and the Uchiha have a problem)

He's willing to suffer because he thinks he deserves it and low key makes the first few weeks of camping Worse than necessary to try and get you to leave. But eventually he does let you travel with him, as long as you stay out of sight.

He ends up helping you fake your death (if you didn't already do a good job yourself) after noticing a Root member in a town you've been to with them before and coming up with an excuse for Pain so that Deidara and Hidan the others aren't allowed to kill you on sight.

Itachi falls in love with his Alpha slowly. Honestly the two of them don't realize they've sort of been courting until Kisame points out how much stuff they have in this one sealing scroll and that none of it is his thank you very much.

Which ensures the sort of sibling-like bickering between the Alpha and Kisame that "the scroll doesn't even weigh anything for you, why are you complaining" and he catches himself hiding a smile in his collar and he sort of realizes that he's grown both familiar and comfortable around you.

Not only is he comfortable, he no longer views you as a threat, he feels safe when you're around, there's a reason all the trinkets you've brought one another that aren't edible are in that scroll and it's that he wants them, he wants you around, in a way he hasn't allowed himself to want anything for years.

He likes that you believed in him, he didn't know how much that would mean until he had it.

It makes him feel guilty but also somehow important that this is also an Alpha that, although maybe not intentionally, lost everything looking for him, and is consistently devoted to his comfort and respectful of his boundaries while also somehow drawing him little by little out of the shell he'd built around his heart when he killed almost everyone he was ever told he should love.

He loves that you invent your own little missions in every town they stop in (they're silly things sometimes, other times more complicated and have to do with you finding more ways to protect yourself so Itachi doesn't have to worry about you when you travel)

He thinks it's sweet that the crows he sends to travel with you all end up with a name (... it's the same name, you just call them karasu because "you should call something what it is and it's a crow, Itachi") and sit in the hood of your cloak

When it doesn't annoy him (because you're right) he likes that you say things the way they are, the bluntness is refreshing and different from the way Kisame likes to play with metaphors and thinly veiled hints

Izuna

Izuna meets his Alpha the day they get married

The warring states period is dangerous and messy and people die from things other than war. Izuna was engaged to his Alpha's elder sister (who was a beta) since before he presented as part of a main clan to branch-clan marriage. When she died, her younger sibling, who was an Alpha and who he had never seen before in person or in paintings, is put forth as her replacement.

The ceremony was already scheduled, the dowries (in this case the gifts the mates give each other for they and their families to use) were both prepared, even the clothing was all ready, so the temples just redid Izuna and the Alpha's birth charts and chose the next date that was close to the original

He's nervous during the ceremony because he doesn't know this alpha. Alphas fight in the war, and every amab child is also trained to fight on a battlefield (as opposed to afab kids who are also taught to fight, but more so they have some means of self defense and this has to do with how male omegas can't be identified until they present in adolescence) but there's still stereotypes around how alphas treat omegas

He's one of the Uchiha's best fighters, war is stressful, the Uchiha (of which he is one) are stressful, the daimyo is stressful and annoying. Izuna is very stressed. And he's getting mated and married before Madara does, so he's stressed about doing something before brother in the way that younger siblings get about that sort of thing (smug and also nervous)

But the ceremony is nice, normal, he sneaks glances at you throughout and is at least glad you comport yourself well

Izuna falls in love with his alpha's respect. They don't ask anything of him the first night, or any of the nights they are traveling back to the main compound. They leave that first step to him

In my naruto omegaverse, there's a potential benefit to alpha-omega pairings (beta-omega and beta-alpha pairs might also get this benefit but it's one-sided in favor of the beta and still isn't a guaranteed part of the bond), which is that upon consensually submitting to the mating mark, the alpha-omega pair have a better sense of one anothers' location and have better coordination with one another over all because of it. For battle-pairs this could provide an incredible edge.

Because no one except his brother and Tobirama have ever been able to keep up with him in a fight, Izuna is a little more interested in a second effect, which is that alpha-omega pairs who are well bonded (usually has to include emotionally aligned) have a slight but documented increase in base power level. For Uchiha for whom love (and fear of loss/hate after loss) is sort of the thing that fuels them, this is a little bit more than average. (There's a whole thing about how the organ associated with fire in eastern medicine is the heart and how fire is the Uchiha element etc etc)

So not gonna lie, he's a little in love with the power that mating gets him, but he's also a little proud that he and his mate have the kind of bond that does that.

But he also loves how they care for the clan. His Alpha was trained in chakra control and has taken on roles as a field medic in the past. They also have natural sensory abilities that were honed in the years before they joined the battlefield. They use these skills to look out for the clan in a way that Izuna can't, or cover for place he can't be, which makes him very happy.

They also try to keep up with him regarding field skills, which he finds and endearing and encourages. He loves that his Alpha wants to stand by his side. By the time he and his Alpha have been mated for about two years, they're able to take most missions together. The only thing he will not permit is for his Alpha to be on the front lines with him when they are fighting the Senju, because inevitably when Hashirama or Tobirama are there, the other is not far, and he and Madara must go together in order to meet them.

He also loves how they understand how being an Omega complicates his life as a key fighter for the clan. If there is a "moment" when he realizes how much he could come to love this Alpha, it's when they help him end his heat early using a safe herbal tincture so that he can go to battle without the handicap of needing to ignore it, rather than pushing for him to spend it with them.

Izuna and his Alpha's relationship is largely built on the two of them listening to one anothers' needs and figuring out how to meet them.

hello! i'm a returning anon (i didnt believe i could love xyz, but ended up experiencing the true love/bliss anyway). i'm just here to update on my progress hehe. i'll mark myself as 🦇 in case i wanna update again!

i've started questioning where seeing/hearing "starts and ends" which has really helped my understanding of no seperation (impossible to put the exercise into words tbh), which has helped me put far less inherent value in the things i observe. at the same time though, i'm more aware of how reflective things are; i'm noticing how my dreams and experiences reflect my internal awareness and beliefs!

i also have found that identifying the root of an issue and letting go of it has done wonders for me. i used to experience intense hunger nausea, and get headaches when cold air blew in my face, and i don't anymore! and all i had to do was "remember" where i got that idea, and then say "no" to it. IT'S SO EASY!!

also "my" memory is SOOOO bad now LOL but it's really freeing because living in the present is infinitely more rewarding than trying to hold on to the past.

im having a wonderful time and i cant wait to continue Being :) 🦇
