Hey uhm, I’m sorry to bring this up again and I really wish this wasn’t starting to blow up but I feel like I should cover the situation with Luna1920

Me and Connie never stalked them or their friends. Connie told their ex they wanted a break way before me and her got together. We only got together because they had finally left her alone after months of asking. It’s intrusive to make anything about her ex part of your argument. I’m not okay with any talk about Quinn or Lux part of the argument. Quinn was mentally and emotionally abusive towards her, and Lux was overly clingy. I’m not mad at Lux, I’m mad at Quinn.

I’m also upset with Luna1920 and their friend. We didn’t stalk them. We were blocked by Luna1920 and did not try to bother them after that. We tried to ignore other people who shared similar views. It would’ve been extremely irresponsible and immature of us to have even tried to do anything to Luna1920 after what had already happened August 12th. They went after Connie for a ship, they called her the r slur, and they told her to kill herself. I talked to them in dms and they were extremely disrespectful, to the point where even I lost my temper. I greatly apologize for doing so. I try my best to keep a cool head when situations like these occur and I wish I hadn’t lost my temper in that conversation. I’ve shown screenshots of it before, and on my old TikTok account I have a video about what happened August 12th.

If anyone that happens to enjoy me, Connie, or Kris’s content is going after them please know that we do not condone this behavior. At the same time, we also do not condone the behavior of Luna1920 or their friends. We didn’t want any drama to start, and if we “stole ideas,” then that is more of a point of view if anything. All the ideas for Qftim-c come from me, Kris, or Connie. We didn’t even know Luna1920 existed until they went to her to insult BlueInk. We don’t care about ships, but an insult to Connie as a person is unforgivable. She’s the sweetest person I’ve ever known, and quite possibly the only thing keeping me alive right now. So I usually start out my workout session with a good long walk on the treadmill. I use noice cancelling earphones and sometimes I close my eyes (sometimes to avoid people, sometimes because it just feels nice).

On this particular occasion, my eyes were indeed closed.

This person then comes to talk to me, for how long, I'm not sure because, as I've mentioned, my eyes were closed. Thus I can't hear nor see this person. He then proceeds to touch me, for some reason that is beyond me, on the ribs. I let out a a screech worthy of being considered for a horror soundtrack and, of course, twist my body in such a way that I go rocketing of the treadmill.

But nonono "if you'd just give attention to me" that wouldn't have happened.

I have some problems with this. There’s my own experiences of being told I can’t be aroace because “love is what makes us human.” Romantic and sexual attraction are put on too high a pedestal. I hate to say it (lol no I don’t) but love isn’t what makes anyone human.

Being human is what makes us human. We’re all so different and complex, there really aren’t many generalizations that every single person fits into.

Not to mention psychopaths—who don’t love—are never given the same treatment.

The Hazbin Hotel fandom’s issue with accepting aromanticism and asexuality

Now that it is officially Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, I want to talk about this!

I find that, as an aroace myself, I am constantly grasping at good representation and coming up empty— it usually ends up in one of two ways.

One: the character is portrayed as emotionless, cold, and robotic in nature. It’s the question aromantic and/or asexual people are often asked: “Are you heartless?” The answer is no, of course, but general media makes it out to be the opposite.

Or two: Their lack of attraction is seen as something to “fix” because they “haven’t found the right one yet”, and they end up with a partner as a “happy ending”.

It frustrates me greatly because of how little people actually see aromanticism or asexuality as a true part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

So when I watched Hazbin Hotel, and I found out about Alastor being aroace, I was over the moon. I was on cloud nine. I also saw how his voice actor has looked up the term as an attempt to learn about aroaces, which makes me OVERJOYED?? Amir is truly a blessing, and I love that he’s proud to embody a character that’s part of our community. It’s so beautiful to finally have a proper character, a fan favorite at that, who just so happens to be aroace— and that’s another thing I love about this.

It’s never explicitly stated in the show (though it is stated in interviews), but it’s rather clear when you’re watching, isn’t it? Alastor’s aversion to any sort of sexual advancement, coupled with Rosie’s blatant “I know you’re an ace in the hole” comment sort of spell out his asexuality pretty clearly, as well as what side of the spectrum he falls upon. In addition, his Valentine’s day card was strictly platonic, which caters to his aromantic side. It feels so validating to finally be represented, to finally have a character in media who shares the same lack of interest in romance and sex as I do.

When I entered the fandom to look for more content, I kind of expected to see the same respect for Alastor’s orientation there too. But that… wasn’t the case? I am fully aware that aromanticism and asexuality are both spectrums— of course, aromantic and/or asexual people can enter those kinds of relationships. I’m not denying that and they belong in the community as much as anyone else on the spectrum.

But, the more I see the same line again and again and again, the more it feels like an excuse to just ship what you want.

Usually I don’t mind shipping? I’m often a firm believer in people shipping what they like as long as it’s harmless and they don’t go crazy over it. I also know for a fact that Viv doesn’t have a problem with people shipping her characters. They are fictional, after all.

But in this case, people are ignoring the very thing that makes Alastor a part of the aroace community! People are ignoring his lack of romantic or sexual attraction!

Is this not the same as changing a gay character’s orientation to suit a straight ship? If not, how so? I’m told that we are a part of this community, so why aren’t we being treated like it? Why is it so hard to accept the people on the end of the spectrum who aren’t interested?

Something I’ve been noticing throughout my life is that society has not exactly progressed very much on the idea of accepting asexual or aromantic identities. Maybe we have, a little, since the old days— but hell, people in “the old days”, which in truth wasn’t very long ago, believed that asexuality was a medical condition to be “fixed” by taking the right medication or having sex. That’s a pretty low bar to clear. And on the romance side, you’re seen as a “late bloomer” or “boring” if you don’t express interest. These days, being friends with someone is treated like a gateway to them possibly becoming a lover. Not getting married, not going on dates, not wanting a partner— it’s all treated like a crime when it’s not.

Maybe I’m selfish, or sensitive, or I’m butthurt over nothing, or I’m making it all about me. Maybe I’m gatekeeping or whatever the term is. But please, please, please, I just want an aroace character like me who simply is not interested in sex or romance.

And I want fandom to respect that. I admire the creations that fans make— the art, the animatics, the writing and the character analysis. And I want people to keep creating because creation is indeed a beautiful thing.

But I really would like people to treat aroace identities like they’re important. Like it’s more than just a spectrum to get wiggle room to wrangle in another ship.

Young Justice is always a little...concerned. With Phantom's living situation. Now they're outright afraid for him, and Bart has decided it's time to Ask An Adult.

It was the little quips. The tiny little things. Stuff that didn't seem to matter to Phantom at all, or appeared to be normal for him, that he didn't realize weren't normal at all.

"Oh, better not hope my mom catches me." "Doing what, staying out past bedtime?" "Nah, using my powers; she'd vivisect me!"

"Another stab wound. Great." "Don't worry Phantom, I've got the med kit-" "Oh, I'm not a baby or anything, I can handle it just fine. Just gimme a sec to take it out."

"My dad has better aim than that." "...Like, when he's hunting, right?" "...At what other times would he be shooting at me?"

"Huh. Not as bad as my parents place. Look; they have a decontamination shower!" "Phantom, this lab has been vandalized to the point of needing a hazmat suit." "Did I stutter?"

Finding out each others identities did nothing to soothe the worry. Tim quietly told the others that every time he tried to run facial recognition, he kept hitting a government firewall he couldn't breach. Phantom never told them his last name, just his first, and 'Danny' is super common.

The thing that really did it though, the thing that made Bart snap and run off to ask Max, was when Danny had a nightmare.

He was talking in his sleep.

"No. Don't-stop. Stoooop. I need...my skin. Mom, no. You can't...peel off...my skin..."

Bart didn't even wait for them to wake Danny up before he was standing in front of Max, talking a mile a minute as he tried to figure out what to do, with Wally staring in horror over a plate of waffles as he computed everything that Bart was saying.

Danny had a dream about his mom and Skulker arguing about how to skin him. He wouldn't really call it a nightmare, because it was just Skulker, but the scariest thing was Skulker insisting to his mom that it was possible to skin him with a potato peeler. Dream mom was arguing that it was not, and that from a scientific standpoint that was a really piss poor way to preserve a specimen.

He hadn't been begging them to stop hurting him, he'd been whining at them to knock it off.

But when he wakes up, it's to a room full of worried friends and an old man who calls himself Max.

"Kid, I think we need to talk."
