what did loki mean by "the sun will shine on us again"? was that a reference to something he had said in the past?

I mean, it would’ve been foreshadowing, if Loki had come back, but the closest reference to something he’s said in the past would be referring to himself as being in the “shadow” of Thor’s greatness, which is why I have decided to interpret it as Loki accepting that he's at least equal in worth to Thor, which is a... a pretty great concession considering where he started

#just me trying to fit a bunch of cryptic last words into his character arc #since apparently marvel was too busy trying to get rid of the character to do it themselves #maybe he did actually have a plan and was making sure Thor knew and Thor figured it out and THAT'S why he never mentioned loki #he was like ''i think he's actually dead this time'' and settled on ''he's not dead'' which made the 5 year gap worse #maYBE thor thinks his speech on 'going our separate ways' wasn't meant to be taken literally and now thor blames himself for driving him off #or maybe that isn't the case and thor is just so deep in denial he can't face that loki might actually have died #whatever the case is I'm 80% sure marvel doesn't know what Loki meant either #has anyone asked the Russos about this yet? I want to know what they think Loki meant #no really #:) #i'm curious #did they put any thought into it or
