#just realised it looks like schlatts threatening tubbo
Note
for the ask thing: 5, 9, and 16 about c!tubbo
fear, childhood, and appearance!
5: tubbo doesnt have fight or flight, he has fawn. its an obvious remnant of his time under schlatt, but it also means that when hes scared and especially when he's triggered, most people dont notice. tommys never really picked up on it because tubbos never really been scared of tommy before, and even quackity, who was there while it developed, never figured it out until a little into nlm. ranboo put it together eventually, but it was a little hard for him to understand, because when they disagreed tubbo argued until he ran out of breath, and whenever he fought someone he never hesitated to use every weapon in his arsenal -- actual threats to his life were always responded with in kind. but in more personal situations, when he's put back in that mindset he had as a spy, where he thinks theres no way out, he's just going to do his best to please and pray that you dont hurt him. basically, if you pull out a gun, he'll pull out his own, but if you broke a bottle on his head he'd ask where the paper towels were.
9: this one is a little complicated, because it tends to change a lot based on what i'm writing, but i really like the idea of tubbo being from 2b2t. its why he thinks anarchy doesnt work and how he learned what nuclear weapons are. tubbo is hopeful about human nature, although one would not go nearly so far as to call him an optimist. he believes that people are inherently good, and that they do want the best for those around them as a general rule. but he also believes that humans are a product of their environment and that without proper guidance and enforcement of rules from something like a government, they will turn to violence because it's how they have to survive.
16: I HAVE SO MANY GET READY. okay so let's start with clothing/deliberate presentation: he got a shit ton of medals. lots of ones for bravery and good leadership after the battle at the jungle base especially, because in my version of the war that was a really big deal (they got ambushed while doing reconnaissance and tubbo managed to trick the greater smp leaders and got most of his troops out alive). he wore them on his military uniform which was, of course, part of the white house attire, since all their members were some form of military. then schlatt came into power and, since he wasnt military and that made him look less experienced, he wanted to kind of scrub away evidence of it, and no one was allowed to wear their medals or uniforms anymore. tubbo realised pretty early into the administration that the best way to get by was to make sure he wasnt seen as a threat. when he was ordered to get a suit, he made it a little too big -- not enough to be remarked upon, but enough to make him seem smaller, more childish, a little more ineffectual. he messed up his hair in the morning and, when that was called unprofessional, he pushed it up with too much gel, left it a little clumpy and unflattering, enough to imply youth and, crucially, inexperience. speaking of hair: obviously it was in a military buzz cut for lice prevention during the war, but he had grown it out by schlatts administration, so it was about the same as cctubbos. then the festival happened, and quite a bit, especially on one side of his hairline, was burned off, so it was just shaved down for easier access to the burns. after the festival, he realized that his efforts didnt work the way he wanted them to. because, when someone already suspects you, looking weak doesnt mean you look non-threatening -- it just means you look easy to hurt. so he kept his hair short, even though it made him feel insecure about his scars, even after it started going grey at the temples. after tommys reported death, he stopped cutting it regularly, so it was grown out a little by doomsday, and afterwards he gave up entirely for a while. it was only a while after adopting michael that tubbo commented he should probably cut it again. ranboo had frowned, brushed a strand out of his face, and said he thought it looked nice. and tubbo was kind of baffled, because it had been a very very long time since someone had ever said he looked anything close to nice. and he had almost argued that it drew more attention to his uneven, burned hairline, or that it made the grey even more obvious, or that the way it framed the crows feet by his eyes made them more pronounced. but, for reasons he didnt quite know, he didn't say any of that. instead, he'd just set down the scissors, and that was that.

I promised Uncle Techno, I shall deliver >:D (pretty long btw)
----
Fundy was starting to regret coming back to SMP Lands, it wasn’t as bright and joyful as where he was before. There were no daily Imposter Games, there were no slot machines for him to spend prize ‘money’ that they would win from a game, there were no windmills or machinery for him to mess about with.
Dream SMP Lands was as dangerous as ever. And was as drained of joy as ever. The dreadful hole was covered in glass, red icky stuff was covering the streets and buildings. The ice cream shop, he felt a pang when he looked at it, was abandoned.
There was a new small settlement that popped up, Snowchester. And then there was a huge hole that looked like it was the testing ground for some sort of custom explosive.
Returning was such a bad choice, he wanted to go home. He may have just stepped foot back into the Lands, but he already regrets it. There was nothing here to look for, Eret was here yes, but if he did stay in the Lands, it was highly likely he would either only stick with Eret or live by his lonesome, and the latter option was looking better as time passed.
He wandered through the Lands, avoiding interaction with the others, not even Eret could get him to talk to people, he doesn’t care anyway. Sure, he blew up their supplies, but the nation wasn’t surviving anyway. No one cared about what he did, Ranboo just stood there when Tommy.......
No let’s not think about that.
He continued walking past the Mainlands, where the red things were most prominent, and arrived in a tundra far away, but he knew that Tommy’s past exile spot was somewhere in a neighbouring biome. He also recognized this tundra as the same one where Techno lived in.
Ah, it doesn’t matter anyway.
As darkness fell, he settled against a tree in a forest in the tundra, it was a peaceful place, he relaxed as he made his way into a small cave that led to nowhere, but deep enough that it reminded him of his old, first base, the now flooded cave. Thinking about it reminded him of the better and more peaceful times of Lmanburg, and the prank wars with Eret. He knew, however, that it would never come back. Everything changed too much, everyone changed too much.
His new cave base was similarly made to his first one, unintentionally but he was feeling nostalgic. He sat down on a newly made wooden table and starting writing a letter, there was a storm brewing outside and his cave was still accessible since he had no secret door yet. He doubted anyone would come so deep into the forest, especially in the biome that Technoblade lived in.
As he was penning letters to friends he met during his time gone, smiling stupidly at a certain letter he was writing, he remembered that he hadn’t eaten since he stepped foot into the Lands, the nerves were probably overiding his hunger, and now he realised he didn’t have any food. He had to go scavenge in the storm, he was too far from the Mainlands and there was absolutely no way he was knocking on Techno’s door, besides, the storm may be big but he could survive.
When he left, it was coincidence that Techno stumbled upon a lit up cave base in the forest near his house. The pig was of course suspicious, he was here to light up the forest with lanterns, it was really dark and he was sure that the cave wasn’t inhabited the day before.
He discovered a bunch of half-written letters on a small table, the ink was still fresh so the owner must have just left. Another bit of poking around made him realise that there was absolutely no food at all, and he quickly deduced that whoever was living here went out to scavenge for food, in the howling storm.
It was a homely place, and he saw a paragraph on a letter that was addressed to someone named “Crumb”.
’............. it’s actually storming as I’m writing this, I’ll be going out to scavenge for food. No way I’m walking back to the Mainlands! And there’s no way I’m knocking on the door of Philza and Technoblade. Don’t worry, your brother will be just~~~~ fine.‘
It cut off right there, and it made him wonder who was the owner who didn’t want to go to them for help. But no matter, he decided that he’d make a quick stop at his house and pick up a basket filled of freshly baked potatoes. There was no game in the forest, they were in a tundra and it was storming, unless they went to search for seeds and even then, they would need to wait for the seeds to grow into wheat to be harvested.
-
And that was what he did. The minute he went away, Fundy returned, empty-handed and miserable. Again, heavily regretting his decision to return. ‘Five, I wish I was with you....’ He was so tired, and he didn’t care about food or finishing the letters, the second he stepped back into the cave, he fell asleep, collapsed in a ball, curling up just like a fox would, he was too tired to care.
And that was the scene Technoblade returned to, the letters on the table more of a mess, an audible grumbling heard from the floor.
He didn’t even realise that Fundy had returned to the Dream SMP Lands.
The familiar fox hybrid was curled up just like a fox and was asleep, that was where the grumbling came from, he must be starving.
And cold too, he noticed, the storm brought in quite the chill, and it was also a tundra they were in. Fundy was in some strange steampunk outfit, and it looked like it was meant to battle the heat, not battle the cold.
He set down the basket of potatoes and carried the hybrid (he seemed much healthier than the last time he saw him) onto a nearby bed and shrugged off his outer cape, draping it across Fundy. That outfit was so not fit for the tundra.
A gust of wind blew the pieces of paper off of the table and Techno hurriedly collected them before they could get soaked or lost. In doing so, he caught sight of a paragraph on another letter, addressed to someone named, ‘Five’ (he blatantly ignored the ‘my beloved’).
......... I regret coming back here. I wish I could forget it all, of course only Eret acted like I exist but he’s rarely around anyway, everyone here has value some way or another, not me. Everyone has someone, unlike me..... I want to go, I want to leave, I want to leave forever, it was a bad choice for me to come back.... Five, I miss you, I miss the windmills, I miss the Games, I miss Crumb, I miss Crewfu, I miss you......
Techno felt an ache in his chest, looking forlornly at the sleeping hybrid. He could relate on a level, Techno himself was always treated as a weapon, that he is valued only because he has use. It seems Fundy was the exact opposite, but somewhat in the same situation. He was his nephew, Phil’s own grandson, he heard Phil so casually talking to Tubbo again, and it was Tubbo who led the Butcher Army. Quackity the zealous one, both were presidents from what he knew, and Fundy and Ranboo..... they weren’t.... He made up with Ranboo, Phil did too, why couldn’t they do the same for Fundy?
Did he, too, treat Fundy like he was..... worthless?
Well, it was time to change that. For his nephew, for someone who reminded him of himself, for Wilbur......
-
Fundy woke up in his bed, and he remembered that he passed out on the floor, without something covering him and providing warmth, unlike this..... cape? And he knew he wasn’t able to find food, so why did he smell baked potatoes? The smell from Pogtopia, the potatoes.... who was here?
He started to panic, throwing the cape off of him and grabbing the Schlatt Sword (he really became too attached to it, he couldn’t help himself, it reminded him of the time Schlatt was actually somewhat of a decent father to him) and looked around.
The letters were all neatly on the table, there was no storm, puddles that once were on the floor had been wiped dry, everything was normal, and then there was the cape and potatoes...
“Hey kid.”
He whipped around, fear present in his eyes as he recognised the voice immediately, he wanted to smack himself silly for not putting together the dots, potatoes and that cape, of course, Technoblade.
“Techno.” The pig didn’t look threatening at all, especially without that cape and no weapons on his body, and another basket of baked potatoes in his hand, however, this was Technoblade, and he couldn’t be too sure.
“Fundy, why did you not come ask for help?” And Fundy flinched, straight to the point. His grip on the sword weakened a bit as he noted there was genuine concern in those eyes.
“What does it matter to you?” He grouched out, glaring. Techno stayed silent and just set down the basket, confusing the fox. He sat on the table and motioned for Fundy to join him, to which he did with hesitance.
“Here, eat. I’ll bring food over for you, and no you don’t get to refuse.” Techno added after seeing the look in Fundy’s eyes. “I’m not doing it out of pity, just eat, I can see you’re starving.” and Fundy couldn’t deny that. So he just took the potatoes and ate in silence, skillfully ignoring the pig.
“Thank you.” He muttered. “What are you doing here?”
Instead of answering, Techno walked to the mouth of the cave, but making no motion to leave, just staring at the sky that is partly obscured by the trees. The ground was snowy and Techno lied down, just as one would when looking at the clouds. Fundy followed, curious and feeling a bit safer seeing as the pig hybrid wasn’t looking to cause him harm.
He sat down next to Techno, a fair distance away but not too far to make it insulting. Techno simply didn’t speak a word until a few minutes later, and what he said just confused and soothed Fundy.
Techno simply talked about what happened after Doomsday, the bad and the good, no info left omitted, something that was new to him. He spoke about the syndicate, he talked about Niki, he talked about his life out in the tundra, he talked about the bloodvines.
“The sun, a ball of gas, Greeks believed it was Apollo riding his chariot over the sky, providing warmth and energy and hope.” He changed subjects, Greek mythology again, but Fundy always found such things interesting. Unconsciously, he inched a bit closer to the pig, and if Techno noticed it, he didn’t say anything. “The sky, the heavens, ruled by Zeus, king of the gods, brother to god of the sea Poseidon and god of the underworld Hades.”
“Hades?” Fundy asked without thinking, death was a fascinating subject to him, ever since the Ghostbur appearance and especially after his astral projecting experiences, where he could see ghosts of all who have died.
Techno made no outward reaction, though inwardly he felt a strange stirring, Fundy truly was like him. When he was younger, before meeting Phil, blood for the blood god was truly that, and consequently, it was also death to those people, souls for the ruler of death. Death and him go hand in hand.
They sat in comfort as Techno told one of his favourite stories to do with the underworld, the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, because Orpheus always reminded him of Wilbur, just like Theseus and Tommy.
Fundy..... Fundy reminded him not of a greek tale, but of a phrase ‘The cost of genius’. Fundy was a genius, Techno knew, he saw it with his own eyes, he heard about the rumours of a land of windmills, with machinery never seen before, he knew it was Fundy who was behind it, who else could it be?
Wilbur used to boast in his letters about how smart Fundy was, Fundy who picked up the Void Language ever since he gotten his hands on a book about it, Fundy, who was just like a demigod in his own right and who was able to create and manipulate the world in a way that usually, only gods could do. He never did it until recently, the machinery was a testament to what Fundy could do. Fundy, who was a quick learner of long range weapons and was one of their strongest snipers. Fundy, who picked up music faster than Wilbur ever had. Fundy, who just like Tubbo, became adept at redstone and was one of the best redstoners in the Lands.
But what was the ‘Cost’ he had to pay?
A cost he had been paying his entire life, and perhaps even longer, but Techno was determined to end it. Talents came at a cost, especially for the family, Wilbur’s insanity, Techno’s voices, and Fundy’s entire life’s suffering.
It must’ve been a few hours that Techno was just talking before he stopped. A few minutes ticked by before he finally asked. “So, want to talk about it?”
Fundy, at least, didn’t look as frightful or uncomfortable as he did before anymore, but still a bit dejected and depressed. “You all have someone, you know? You and Phil, Wilbur and Friend, Tubbo and Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo even!! Eret doesn’t hang around much, they’re awesome and all, but they’re rarely around so yeah..... yeah you get the point.” The words came spilling out like a dam that had broke, the fox pulled his legs up to him and wrapped his hands around them, head low and tears released.
“I thought I had Ranboo, but I didn’t. I thought I had Dream, but I was lied to! I had WILBUR!! But he went and blew himself up! I have no one! No one in the Lands ever CARED for me! I never mattered!! What I did, never and will never matter!! Because what am I? I’m just a reminder of Wilbur to them! I’m just the fox that went traitor even though no one, NO ONE, heard my side of the story!! RANBOO, left me after I said I wanted to stay with him, called me a coward too! Phil forgave Tubbo, but not me, never me! It’s always like this, a cycle of pain, of suffering, I should NEVER have come back!!” He shouted, pouring out his emotions, his feelings, his thoughts, and completely forgetting who was there with him.
Techno said nothing, only brought the sobbing and screaming fox into a hug, this was Wilbur’s son, this was who he promised a younger Wilbur to protect, to care for, and he failed spectacularly didn’t he? He let the fox scream his heart out, and if anyone were to hear them, well at least they would know how they hurt the misunderstood hybrid.
“SCHLATT was a better father than Wilbur was, even for a short time. Strangers were better family than anyone ever was! Ghosts make for better conversation than ANYONE here!! I was never respected!! Ridiculed, mocked, looked down, hurt by my own fucking uncle that everyone trusted immediately!! Oh of course, it’s just Fundy, he’s nothing, don’t worry about him!! Oh, don’t worry, just stand there and watch as his own uncle harms him!! Oh, don’t worry, you don’t have to think about him when doing anything!!! I hate it here, I HATE IT!!!”
Techno spotted Phil a fair distance away, hidden by the trees, of course, Techno did disappear overnight and the commotion was bound to bring attention to this spot. The man looked conflicted,  he was staring at his grandson with an unreadable expression but Techno shot him a look, telling him to stay there. He allowed the fox to cry his tears out, to scream, as he pulled the fox (he was so young, everyone including him always forgot how young he actually was, younger than Tommy even, he may have aged faster but he still was younger in normal terms) closer.
It was like Wilbur, Wilbur who once had a mental breakdown when they were younger, this time it was Fundy.
The sobbing slowed to hiccups as Fundy grew aware, but didn’t move away, instead relishing in rare comfort from people of the Lands. “Fundy, no don’t speak. I am sorry, I cannot make amends for the fear I put in you because you were an orphan, I cannot make amends for the home I blew up, but from now on, I promise you, I swear to you on the name of the Blood God himself, that I’ll look after you. You’re my nephew, you are family, and it’s time I start acting like an uncle, or at least be a better dad than Wilbur was.”
That drew a fox-like laugh, broken and cracked though, out of Fundy.
He ignored the voices which were telling him he was going soft.
“You’re only saying that.” Fundy mumbled. “You’re only acting like that, you don’t mean it. No one does.... no one ever means it. Not Wil, not Schlatt, not Ranboo,” Techno heard a crack when he said the enderman’s name, he remembered seeing those two together before they..... went and got information from him, they were as close as brothers back then. And Techno wondered why Ranboo would just leave Fundy, especially after that big speech during the festival, when Fundy chose Ranboo, when he chose people, he was let down. No wonder the kid was so bitter. “Not Phil, not Dream, not even NIki. It’s fine though, it’s fine.....”
Techno hesitated for awhile, seeing a far off gaze in his eyes. “Kid, I won’t promise, because you don’t want to hear them, I can tell. I’ll bring potato baskets here everyday if I need to, I’ll tell you stories, tales, myths, even until you’re sick of them and I will tell them again and again. I’m going to prepare a room at my house for you, and no you can’t refuse,” he added seeing Fundy ready to say something. “I’ll shield you from Phil or Ranboo or anyone else. Everything, even the Syndicate, if you want to, you’ll be involved, you’ll have a choice, you matter. You have me, and you’ll always have me.”
“And what if I like my cave?” Fundy softly asked.
“No one said you could only have one home.”
He wasn’t sure it was the right answer, until he saw the fox hybrid relax and smile a bit. He didn’t even register the fact he called him kid.
“Thank you Techno...” the kid must have exhausted himself, because he fell asleep almost instantly. And Techno was once again reminded of exactly how young he was.
He picked up the teen (he finally remembered that though his aging makes him an adult, but in normal terms, he was just a teen. Another child soldier...) and was about to carry him to his bed when he heard footsteps approaching.

Reacting to Your Death
Tumblr media
So obviously I didn’t write all of them, but here’s how I interpret the SMP members that are written would react to you dying.
Warnings: Spoilers for Tommy’s latest stream (Literally like one offhand), obviously death, lots of angst, violence mentions, Schlatt for anyone who doesn’t like him I suppose
Theme: angst, obviously it’s just them and how they deal with your death.
Characters; all the ones with (p) are strictly platonic but the others are up to personal interpretation: Dream, George, Sapnap, Wilbur, Techno, Schlatt, Tubbo (p), Ranboo (p), Tommy (p), Awesamdude, Niki, Karl, Quackity, Minx, Badboyhalo, Phil, DreamXD, Skeppy, Fundy.
DREAM:
- The first few days and nights, all he could do was sit inside all day.
- No matter who visited to comfort him, he felt a horribly large part of his heart had been ripped away when you died.
- He thought about the day when you finally told him that a dirt shack wouldn’t do for a house, so you two spent days building an actual house.
- After those first few days, he decided he would bring you back.
- The revive book had worked for Tommy and Wilbur, so it had to work for you.
- He swore he would bring you back. So he did.
GEORGE:
- He didn’t know how to feel at first. He would get terribly depressed, then angry, and then numb, over and over.
- After a week of this, he then could hardly stop crying. What was he going to do without you? The realisation that he was without you hit him like a truck.
- Whenever he would go out with friends, he made it a habit to pick one of your favourite flowers each day.
SAPNAP:
- He was crushed. He acted out more and more often out of anger to avoid his sadness and hurt, but when he was alone all he did was try so, so hard not to cry.
- Bruised and bloodied knuckles were his most worn accessory.
- Often slept in your house, as a way to feel closer to you. He spends a lot more time in your house than his.
- Always remembered your birthday, but every birthday just made him more sad.
- Eventually he would go to Dream about the revive book too.
WILBUR:
- You had been the only one to see past his flaws in a wary way, and he was heartbroken when you died.
- He often sat on your porch and sang songs he had once sang to you, as well as songs he knew you’d loved, and songs he’d written for you.
- He was the one to make your grave, and had promised to be kinder.
- Though he loved being alive, he didn’t like that you couldn’t also have a second chance at life as well and felt it unfair.
- Probably resorted to a little bit of violence once he got to the anger stage of grieving.
TECHNOBLADE:
- He was always a pretty quiet guy, but when you died he went silent for weeks aside from when he was alone.
- When he was alone, he went into his library. He found all of your favourite books, worn and bent on pages from you reading them over and over, and he would read them aloud.
- He hoped you could hear him from wherever you were as he read the books you had loved.
- He spent a lot of time awake as he did this, oftentimes getting very invested in what you had loved.
- If he wasn’t reading, usually he was in bed, wondering about how he couldn’t save you.
SCHLATT:
- Of course, in public he looked composed as he usually was, as if it wasn’t eating him up inside that you were gone.
- “Who was that again?”
- When alone, he falls apart immediately.
- People assume that when he’s waking up at near to noon it’s because he’s drinking, but it’s really because your death kept him up all night every night.
- He hardly even drank now, because of the secret promise he’d made to you.
- Though you were dead now, he still wanted to keep his promise, just in case.
TUBBO:
- Was the one who made everyone promise to get along when Wilbur made the funeral.
- Was entrusted with the love and care of your stuffed animals or anything from your childhood.
- Has your old childhood photos framed along with his own, so others often stop by to look at the photos to remember you by.
- Probably has your old horse as well, and takes really good care of them.
RANBOO:
- You two had been really close friends before you died. You were such good friends that he didn’t even need his book to remember you were friends, so of course he was absolutely crushed.
- Though he tried his best to stay stable to avoid certain things, he was upset.
- He definitely gave a speech at your funeral.
- He often sits in your room, talking aloud as if you were still with him.
- He would often repeat old jokes you used to tell each other, laughing softly and trying his best to not get too upset.
- If he wasn’t in your room, he was in your old garden tending to your flowers.
TOMMY:
- He’s also more aggressive like Sapnap, except moreso verbally.
- He blames himself heavily for what happened to you, and he mentally beats himself up about it all the time.
- “It was my fault Y/N’s dead, I get it!”
- He’s not much of a cryer.
AWESAMDUDE:
- All of his pain and sadness get put aside with work. He works harder, he makes it so he hardly has time to think about it.
- When he does think about it, he just feels so heavy the rest of the day, like thinking about your death has sucked the rest of the day’s energy from him.
- Sometimes he’s teased for suddenly being so sluggish and unlike himself, but he can’t even muster the energy to explain that he was thinking about you and how he missed you so badly that it hurt him deeply.
- To say the least, he felt like he had believed too much in you having more time. He should have known not to trust in fate.
NIKI:
- She for sure has any other pets you had. She takes extra good care of them.
- There’s a little spot in her garden dedicated to you.
- She had shut down for a good while after your funeral, where she hardly spoke to anyone and often lay in bed all day to try and remember you.
- Although as time went on, she decided you would have hated seeing her in bed all day like that and started doing her normal routines.
KARL:
- He knew he should have seen it coming, but… somehow, he didn’t.
- He felt a little guilty about this thought, and it often kept him from doing any normal tasks.
- He misses the days when one of you felt bad so the other would do everything in their power to make them feel better.
- Needless to say, he started writing letters to you, even if it was just to keep himself a little busy.
QUACKITY:
- Laughing Through the Pain™
- He spends a lot more time making sure people aren’t worried, by making really bad jokes as usual.
- The only times he cries are when he thinks too much about you, regardless of if he’s alone or not. Sometimes it makes encounters awkward.
- He’s just sobbing one time while in the midst of a conversation with someone and he’s just like “sorry man I was thinking about Y/N” and they are just like “...oh”
MINX:
- Aggressive but make it threatening and nothing more.
- “If you don’t fucking shut up about Y/N I’ll knock yer teeth in”
- She just wants to be alone sometimes. She just wants to be alone so maybe the pain will stop being so bad.
- Also not much of a cryer unless it’s late at night.
BADBOYHALO:
- “You little muffin… I told you not to get yourself into danger..”
- He loves to talk about you whenever people bring an old interest up.
- “I remember how much Y/N loved these…” He’s staring at the flowers nearby. He’s smiling sadly.
- Often shares good memories of you with others to help them cope a little.
- He’s sad, but he knows it would do him no good to be so miserable that he can’t do anything. And he knows how much you would scold him if he stopped being himself completely.
PHIL:
- He names a parrot after you, naturally.
- He’s not gone as often now because he likes to stop by your grave and just talk.
- He collects things that remind him of you and puts them in a special chest marked with your name. Sometimes it’s things you said were cool, other times it’s just things that he associates with you.
- Drinks your favourite teas.
DREAMXD:
- Would absolutely just go “lmao” in the chat and then leave again
- That’s it, that’s him.
SKEPPY:
- No more silly pranks with him :( no more memeing on others…
- It hits him hard
- Like Quackity, he makes a lot of jokes to mask how upset he is.
- Of course, he has Bad, but damn was it still difficult to deal with your passing.
FUNDY:
- :(
- He’s so sad that he doesn’t even want to do anything or go anywhere.
- It feels like his whole world just stopped and that nothing could hurt worse than this, and he doesn’t even want to face this sadness.
- He often goes out into the woods to climb trees like the two of you used to do.

The one who stayed AU
-Wilbur and Techno are twins, with Techno being 2 minutes older. Wilbur is Phil’s favourite. Wilbur and Phil often leave for long periods of time, leaving Techno to raise Tommy.
-This leaves Tommy with very anarchist views. He’s also able to work for himself instead of stealing, and good with swords. He’s also terrible at being alone.
-One day, Philza and Wilbur leave to create a nation, they call it L’manberg. In this nation, is Wilbur, Philza, Tubbo, Niki, Jack Manifold, Eret, and a boy that Wilbur adopted named Fundy. The country is a Communist Dictatorship, Wilbur being the President, and Philza being the Vice-President. [This idea is credited to @beeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaans ]
-They fight for the independence of this nation, and get taken to a small room, where Eret says she has things to help. At this time, everyone other than Phil has 3 lives. Phil is at one.
-Eret betrays them, all losing a cannon life, other than Phil, who is ushered out by Wilbur so he can live.
-Upon seeing this Massacre, Phil grows tired. He duels Dream one on one for independence. They use bows, the first to kill the other wins. Phil wins this duel, taking Dream down to two cannon lives. L’manberg gains independence.
-They live happily for a while, but after a few years, Wilbur confides in Phil  saying he feels that no one listens to him anymore. Phil suggests that it’s because he was not democratically elected, and suggests they hold an election. Wilbur agrees with this idea, and they start a party called POG2020. This stands for the Politicians of Gaming.
-Upon hearing that Phil and Wilbur plan on rigging the election by being the only running party, Quackity runs for president, with his running mate, Georgenotfound. They create a party called SWAG2020. George figures Philza and Wilbur will win, as they’re beloved by the nation, and sleeps through any and all important events. This includes when Endorsements occur, and both Schlatt2020 and Coconut2020 become parties.
-Quackity, desperate for power, and seeing that Phil and Wilbur are most likely to win, forms a coalition party with Schlatt2020. This Coalition government wins the election by 1%. Phil and Wilbur are exiled from L’manberg. They form a commune called Pogtopia. Worried about Schlatt and Quackity’s government, they call Techno and Tommy for help.
-While being exhiled, Wilbur loses a second cannon life. He and Phil both only have two.
-While Techno and Tommy aren’t the biggest fans of the two, they give them a chance. I mean, they want to destroy the government, right? What could possibly go wrong?
-They grind, Techno and Tommy provide the revolt with supplies.
-This is where Tommy meets Tubbo! Tubbo is an undercover spy for Pogtopia. After Wilbur and Phil were exhiled, Schlatt welcomed Tubbo into his cabinet, hoping to influence his young mind into being like him.
-When Tubbo and Tommy meet, it’s great! I mean, a friend their age? Fuck yeah! Technoblade is the only one who notices their friendship. Wilbur is busy going insane and Philza really couldn’t care less about Tommy. [Talk abt a shit parent amirite] [Idea from @strawberrylemonz ]
-Tubbo, instead of picking up Schlatt’s ideologies, picks up Tommy’s! He feels bad about having to help reinstate the previous government, however. Tommy and Tubbo are really close!
-Tommy teaches Tubbo about his spy towers! They’re well built, hidden towers, that are hard to recognise unless you know exactly where you’re looking, So far, only Technoblade can recognise them, however Tubbo slowly begins to recognise them too.
-Wilbur is slowly losing his sanity, threatening to blow up lmanburg as more and more people join pogtopia. It gets to the point where the only people on Schlatt’s side are everyone on his side in cannon.
-The day comes, and Techno and Tommy bring the group to a vault. There is enougn supplies for everyone to be fully stacked.
-They go to war, Schlatt fuckin dies of a heart attack, you know how it goes.
-Phil goes to make a speech of how he’s proud of everyone, but especially Wilbur. He doesn’t even mention Tommy and Techno. This makes them slightly angry, but it’s nothing they aren’t used to by now.
-Wilbur comes up on stage, and he hands the presidency to the son whom he is so proud of, Fundy. Wait, another presidency? What the fuck? Didn’t they just overthrow the president? Are they fucking dumb? They just saw what power does to people.
-Fundy makes Niki his vice, renaming POG2020 to Coconut2020.
-Wilbur leaves, and Fundy gets on stage to make a speech. Tubbo silently mutters apologies to Tommy, and promises he will be on their side no matter what, and that he isn’t happy about the government either.
-Phil notices Wilbur’s departure, and follows him. He finds him in the button room, about to press the button. Phil attempts to convince him not to. Think of all they’ve built together. Wilbur laughs, and asks Phil if he ever notices his other children.
-Techno and Tommy rage. How dare they build a government in front of us? Everything they just fought against? Did they not see how much effort the two had put into helping their revolution. Had their own family just used them as tools? Lackeys to do the dirty work? What the hell? They begin to build a wither. Fundy and Niki attempt to convince them not to.
-Wilbur presses the button, blowing up L’manberg.
-This makes Tommy and Techno overjoyed, once again proving that power corrupts. They release the withers, forcefully take the items they grinded for, and leave. Tommy offers to take Tubbo with him. Tubbo declines, saying he knows they’ll rebuild, and it’s best to have a spy on the inside, just in case. Tommy agrees, and they part ways.
-Wilbur begs Phil to kill him. It’s what everyone wants, right? He just blew up their home. Phil, in tears, obliges, taking his final life.
-Tommy and Techno retire to the antartic, creating the antartic commune. They decide that until necessary, they’ll retire. They build a cabin together, and Tommy builds another spy tower in the hill. Techno builds his wither skull vault, in case of emergencies.
-In rebuilt L’manburg, there are wanted posters of Techno and Tommy. No one seems to have noticed Tommy and Tubbo’s friendship.
-Dream starts to put input into L’manburg. Hey Fundy, why is Phil still here? He killed Wilbur. Exhile him, or I build this wall higher and higher.
-Phil gets exhiled. He realises that Dream had him exhiled because he just never seems to die, and he’s pretty strong, isn’t he? Phil uses this time to debate on him killing Wilbur. He sees that he should have killed him anyways, and that he could not be helped. Phil works on mindless tasks, and Dream visits him daily, secretly blocking other visitors.
-Phil collects supplies to fight back to Dream. Ghostbur joins him, providing some angsty moments ;]
-Quackity, Fundy, Ranboo and Niki form the Butcher Army. They can’t have Tommy and Techno interfering with their country. They just had it blown up.
-The Butcher Army track Dream’s footprints as he travels to give the Antarctic Commune a map to a woodland mansion. They get 2 totems each.
-Tommy and Techno now owe Dream a favour.
-The Butcher Army attack the Antarctic Commune, using Carl and a moth called Clemintine? Huh? How’d he get a moth? As leverage to get them to cooperate. [THE DISCS DO NOT EXIST IN THIS AU.] The two come peacefully. Tommy takes note of how Ranboo seems to not want to help the Butcher army.
-The Butcher Army give Carl and Clemintine to Tubbo, he seems as if he would be good with animals. Dream, who is one of the only people to recognise Tommy and Tubbo’s friendship, asks Tubbo to help him get Techno and Tommy out of L’manburg safely. Tubbo agrees, on the grounds that he is not caught, and his identity remains a secret. Dream agrees to these terms, and when questioned later, Tubbo tells the Butcher Army that Dream threatened him when taking the pets.
-The Butcher army attempt to execute Techno first, as they see him as the stronger one. He uses a totem, and Dream helps the two escape. Quackity gets angry, and the Antarctic Duo fight him, taking a cannon life. They leave for the Antarctic Commune, bitter about the loss of tools and armour, swearing to get it back. They are full of rage about being dragged out of retirement.
-Tubbo talks to Ranboo, and confirms that he did not wish to be in the Butcher Army. They both visit the Antarctic duo, and Techno gives them both back their armour. The Antarctic duo offer to allow Ranboo and Tubbo to stay. Tubbo agrees, joining the Antarctic Commune. Ranboo does not stay, leaving to go back to L’manberg, and apologising for helping the Butcher Army.
-Dream finds Phil’s secret supplies, and destroys it all. He says that as a punishment, he will be visiting less. Phil takes this as his time to escape Logstedshire.
-Phil turns up on the Antarctic Trio’s doorstep, apologising for being a horrible father. He asks for their help and for their forgiveness. The siblings agree to help them.
-Phil helps Tommy and Techno get their things back. Eventually, Ranboo tells them about a festival.
-Dream blames Phil for blowing up the community house. He attempts to defend himself, and explains that Dream was watching him because he knew he held power. He says that L’manburg is his home, and that he built it with his son. He would not leave, even if his son was dead. Techno explains that in re-joining L’manburg, he will be betraying his two living sons. Tommy states that Ghostbur told him that he confronted Phil about his blatant favouritism in his final moments, and that if even Wilbur, in his final moments, while insane, can understand that Phil is a poor parent, then he should know this too.
-Phil is adamant on joining his Grandson in L’manburg. Fundy is happy, Tommy and Techno are NOT. They rage, explaining that if he would not understand that he was abandoning his children for this, then he will not get his home. Queue Techno screaming “I’M A PERSON” at Phil. Dream asks the Antarctic Trio if they would like to destroy L’manberg with him. The trio agree.
-Doomsday comes, and L’manburg is destroyed. Niki an Eret join this destruction. [I’m not involving Fundy in this, as his character motivation is getting people to pay attention to him. Phil is paying attention to him] Fundy feels devastated about the betrayal.
-Ranboo is invited to join the Antartic Commune once again. He accepts.
-Tommy and Techno relax, knowing that L’manburg is not coming back any time soon. They settle back into retirement.
-Fundy creates a town named Snowchester with Phil. They are a commune, and wish to declare independence.
-Tubbo starts making nuclear weapons, to provide the antartic commune with even more power. Ranboo seems worried, and his memory is deteriorating.
-Dream threatens Fundy and Phil, saying that he will hurt everyone they care about if they don’t fight him. They start grinding.
-Dream wins the fight, showing he isn’t even trying. He shows that hes always had the upper hand
-Dream takes all of their supplies. Phil reassures Fundy that they’ll be okay, and that he won’t let any harm come to him.
-Dream shows them the Vault. He explains that Phil brought L’manburg, and that L’manburg brought attachments, whether those be between people or items. He explains how he was going to use
-Phil explains that Dream has made a fatal mistake in trusting a mercenary. Punz comes through the portal, with the server. They take Dream’s belongings and Sam takes him to the prison.
-Wilbur tells Fundy how proud of him that he is, and that Phil is still a horrible father, and emphasises how much he has hurt them. This makes Phil realise his actions, finally. He tells Fundy that his siblings are planning on resurrecting him, using how Wilbur also brought attachments to the server to convince Dream to resurrect him. He tells Fundy to join the Antarctic Commune, and that they will forgive him.
-Ghostbur dissapears, as making Fundy happy and standing up to his father was his unfinished buisness.

The more I think about it, the more I see how c!Dream is using a child's tactic to gain control over c!Tommy again. (Warning: extremely messy analysis post)
Lemme put it into a perspective. When you were a kid, you'd get in trouble often, then get punished for it. It's supposed to teach you a lesson, and sometimes you weren't aware that what you did was wrong and, from that punishment, you learned that it was wrong and know not to do it again.
But other times, you're fully aware of what you did, and you're fully aware that it was wrong, and all that punishment taught you was to not to get caught next time.
But for adults, it can be difficult to differentiate between the two mindsets.
Because both times, you'd say "sorry".
You'd say you won't do it again.
And, from the adult's perspective, you don't do it again.
Either because you actually don't, or you do, and it's just behind their backs.
And all the time, you hang your head, maybe cry, and you appear genuinely apologetic.
People who've watched Tommy's exile streams know first-hand how well Dream can convey false emotions.
Most prominently, a false sense of security for a kid who's lost everything, to ensure the kid is dependent on him and only him.
Now, with the assistance of Dream looking vulnerable and powerless locked away in a barren room in a max-security prison with only empty books and a clock to distract him, it's easy for him to appear inferior to Tommy, and thus make his apology seem genuine.
But again, he's giving Tommy a false sense of security, in that he's leading Tommy to believe that the tables have turned in Tommy's favour. Now Tommy's the one who can go where he wants, while Dream's locked away from everyone and everything. In fact, the situation should be worse for Dream, because at least Tommy had ways of keeping his mind occupied in exile so he didn't succumb to insanity.
But what Tommy doesn't realise is that by deciding to return to see Dream on the 24th, he's catering to Dream's desires. Dream has made it clear that all he cares about on this server is holding hostage all items, animals and people that are of sentimental value to others in the server, and keeping people around who make the server fun for him, such as Tommy. There also seems to be a third thing which Dream refused to tell Tommy, and it's clear why Dream refused. In any case, because in his current situation he has no need for his museum, that leaves one other thing that Dream cares about. And he got it the moment he joined a call with Tommy, secured it after he apologised to Tommy, confirmed by Tommy telling him he'd come back again.
In exile, Tommy may have convinced himself for the most part that he had nothing left to lose, but a part of him still didn't give up hope. That was fueled by Ranboo writing him secret letters. That was fueled by the potential of a beach party with all his friends invited. That was fueled by Dream promising Tommy he could visit L'Manberg on Christmas. That was fueled by the compass that led Tommy to Tubbo. And Dream constantly had the power to take these things away from Tommy while never revealing it was his doing (a prime example being no one showing up to Tommy's beach party as a result of Dream stealing the invitations), and thus keeping Tommy under his control under the guise of being his only friend.
In prison, Dream has nothing to lose other than Tommy, no matter what he claims about feeling "sad" about losing his friends and items. He isolated himself from everyone even before he went away to build his base. His only weakness is something unknown to Tommy, and there's nothing that Tommy can threaten any longer that will force an answer out of Dream and give Tommy leverage. Tommy can't even threaten to kill Dream, because he needs him for Schlatt's book. The only thing he could do now is leave Dream to himself, not show up on the 24th, or at all. All that's going to do is give Dream what he wants: a distraction.
And not only that.
Going back to the whole punished child metaphor, let's take a more specific example.
A destructive child who enjoys breaking their toys -- from simply tearing off their limbs or wheels, to setting them on fire or taping them to a rocket firework and setting said firework off. Yes, exactly like Sid from Toy Story. Except this child has a specific toy that they enjoy breaking the most, either because these toy isn't easy to break so it becomes a challenge, or because the toy's responses to being broken are more entertaining (or both). At some point, the child's parents may take this toy away as punishment for the child's behaviour, which they fear could lead to the child growing up and becoming "wronguns" (for want of a better word). The child then may try and get the toy back. They finally get their grubby hands on it, and it has tape all over it in a hasty effort to mend it. The child is in the process of tearing off all this tape when the parents catch the child in the act. The child is then put in time-out for several minutes. But before time-out is over, and before they are prompted to, the child tells their parents they're sorry for what they did to the toy. This softens the parents up, as unprompted apologies to them seem more genuine than prompted.
But the child isn't sorry for breaking the toy.
Dream is sorry for getting caught breaking Tommy.
And now all he has to do is find a way to break him in a more subtle way.
And with the help of the illusion of reverse power imbalance to what was before, I don't think this will be very hard for him.

Okay, so you know one scene I absolutely adored in the Doomsday stream? Tommy giving Sapnap Mars the fish back. It’s such a lovely scene!
It was preceded by Tommy swimming in the middle of the ocean looking for a fish that had been released 2 months prior and I admit I had little faith in Tommy finding Mars again. But then he did! (Ahh that must have been such a contrast from other characters who were about to head into war. There’s Tommy swimming in the sea looking for something someone cared about. It really reveals his priorities, I feel.)
Anyway, Mars the fish has a ton of history.
-It was one of the first pets on the server, created so George’s fish Beckerson could have a friend well before Tommy joined the server.
-Mars and Beckerson lived in the Community house for a long time until Sapnap decided to rescue them seeing as how they’d been abandoned and nearly forgotten for so long.
-One day, Tommy stole Mars from Sapnap’s house after he killed Niki’s pet fox, Fungi, (and also threatened Tommy’s cow Henry) in order to demand an apology for Niki from him. Dream logged on and traded Mars and Beckerson back in return for Mellohi, Tommy’s disc.
-Then, after Sapnap killed Henry, Dream gave Mars to Tommy to help him have some leverage over Sapnap after what he’d done.
-Later on, Sapnap kidnapped Tommy’s horse, Juorse, and tried to negotiate Mars in return for the horse back. When Tommy refused, distrusting Sapnap, he killed Tommy’s horse. Tommy then challenged Sapnap to a fight, which he lost badly and he decided that things needed to end. This war was just leading to their pets dying.
-He and Sapnap went to the ocean and Tommy gave back Mars but convinced Sapnap to release Mars to put an end to the Pet Wars once and for all in a touching scene.
So Tommy bringing Mars back is a really good sign of reconciliation. Tommy had come to the conclusion that just because someone hurt you, didn’t make hurting them back right and it was mean to insist Sapnap release Mars, something he loved, just to make things right. This moment is something of a culmination of all that had come before it in Tommy and Sapnap’s reconciliation.
This scene’s also an interesting contrast to Dream. Sapnap had initially told Tommy he wouldn’t fight with him on Doomsday, because he didn’t want to be against Dream, his old friend. But it’s Tommy who asked to speak with Sapnap further while Dream hadn’t spoken to Sapnap in weeks.
Again and again, Sapnap had remained on Dream’s side because they were friends but Dream never seemed to reciprocate. Dream gave Sapnap’s fish to Tommy and helped Tommy fight Sapnap! And again, after Sapnap killed Tommy’s horse, Dream logged on to support Tommy - even though it was the day before a massive war where Dream was allied with Schlatt.
There’s other events too. Sapnap was very hurt when he heard about Dream’s speech about caring about nothing anymore save Tommy’s discs. He asked Tommy about it in a sad little scene before tagging along for the rest of Tommy’s stream where they named a pet bat together named Batthew and Sapnap helped Tommy make a present for Tubbo, helping to reassure him while Tommy was so clearly terrified of being exiled again. Their dynamic was nice for instance Tommy ran into Technoblade and they yelled a bit and afterwards Tommy noticed Sapnap had been quiet and encouraged him to speak up, realising that he was actually pretty shy. Sapnap confronted Dream only to see him removing George’s kingship and giving it back to Eret and it seemed like again he wasn’t respecting them enough as Sapnap and George decided to join Quackity and contest Dream’s decision.
And so on Doomsday, Sapnap’s loyalty is finally wavering and its Tommy who decides to talk to him, where Dream does not. I think that if Dream had so much as made the time to talk to his oldest friend, Sapnap would have stayed by him. But Dream didn’t - he’d cut out all his attachments and only saw them as weapons to control others.
So not only does Sapnap side with Tommy on Doomsday, Sapnap also comes to help Tommy and Tubbo out in the disc war finale, directly going against Dream. When he finally met Dream in prison, in his eerily silent state, Sapnap was nice yet he didn’t entertain for a moment helping Dream get out. He said that he’d hunt down and kill Dream himself.

Burning Flags, Burning Bridges
So...I may have been inspired by chatting with friends and decided to write a short fundy-centric fic centering around what Philza said to him after the house arrest. Will I write more like this in future? Probably! Will it probably be angsty? Most likely! I hope you enjoy!
I’m gonna put the first page in this and the rest under a read-more so I don’t clog up timelines!
2313 Words/10k Characters Characters Involved : Fundy, Ghostbur, Philza.
"What the fuck are you doing here?"
It was a cold, wet day In Lmanburg; the rain came down heavily, thick sheets that crashed down onto the wooden floors of the city and the deep pools of water beneath and around the city proper; creating a drumming, echoing ambience that seemed to isolate the two of them as they stood; the Fox, soaked through with hat and coat, damp fur and wetter clothes; though for all of the cold that the weather bestowed, it couldn’t compare to the ice that seemed to have bloomed in his chest.
The words cut through Fundy like a knife as his gaze met that of the figure standing in the doorway, one hand resting on the frame. A steel monitor was wrapped around one ankle, and they both knew that if he took another step forward it'd go off and he'd be in trouble. Philza was the one who was trapped, so why was it that Fundy felt like he couldn't move, trapped in the cold embrace of the man in the doorway, a gaze leagues apart from the warmth behind his eyes that he remembered from their days fishing and hanging out. That cold seemed to spread from his chest until it wrapped around his bones, keeping him locked in place.
The words brought back bad memories; often said in joke or incredulities by his friends, he’d only heard this kind of inflection once before – after his appearance in Pogtopia. He still remembered it vividly; the way Wilbur had cast his eyes towards him, looking down at him with contempt, with pain written across his face and spitting the words towards him, accusatory and harsh. He’d explained himself then and Wilbur’s face had softened, a laugh breaking across his features as he turned excitedly back towards Tommy and Quackity, but the eyes that met his whenever Wilbur turned back towards him were as cold as ever. It was those same eyes that were fixed on Fundy now; like father, like son. The kind of gaze that made him feel small, made him feel weak, no matter how many weapons hung by his side or how much armour he had in his inventory.
He swallowed for a moment, before forcing a smile across his face, gesturing towards Philza once more "W-Well, I figured that we could hang out! I know you're stuck at home because of the…” He gestured vaguely towards the bracelet before continuing “so maybe we could... Play some board games, or you could show me some of the old photos you have of Wilbur and Tommy, or we could work on the basement or-!"
 "No."
The word felt like a punch to the gut and Fundy's voice died in his throat, his lips going dry as he opened his mouth to talk, going to say something before Philza's voice cut into him once more, stealing the voice from his throat "How dare you. You broke into my home and demanded that I give up my oldest and most trusted friend, then when I told you I wouldn’t, you threatened me, ransacked my house, imprisoned me in my own home and then mocked me. You stood outside of my home, mocking me, before running off with the Compass that Techno trusted me with, to hunt him down.” Philza’s grip tightened on the doorframe and Fundy could swear that he could hear the wood beginning to crack beneath the grip of the man; the cold in his eyes was gone now, replaced with a fire that crackled in his throat and lit every word that he spat towards the fox. “And then- AND THEN. You drag him from his home, where he’d been living in peaceful retirement, under the pretence of a trial, only to try and execute him in front of me, when I couldn’t do anything but watch.” Fundy could feel his fur standing on end, even as damp as it was, but he couldn’t move an inch away from the man who’d locked him in place much like they’d trapped Techno days before. All he could do was stand there as Phil continued. “Allow me to be very clear with you, Fundy. If Techno had died in that cage, none of you would have lived to regret it.” His wings flare up behind him, obscuring the light coming from the house behind him before folding behind his back once more as he turns around, glancing back towards the rain-drenched fox standing out on the wooden platform “The last thing I want to do is kill another son of mine, but It seems like this city hasn’t given me a choice.” He turns, back facing him, pulling his hat down low “Because you’re already dead to me.”
The sound of the door slamming shut echoed out around the city, leaving Fundy alone, clutching at his jacket, gaze turned down towards the ground, eyes squeezed shut and teeth clenched tightly as the rain helped to mask the fresh dampness on his face. After a moment, he turns, walking away from the house, every step echoing out on the wooden floor; it was only after he was far enough away from the house that he broke into a sprint, running along the wooden path leading away from the city, then away from the path itself, kicking up damp leaves behind him as he goes sprinting into the woods until his legs give out and he collapses back against a tree, pulling his knees to his chest and curling up into a ball. Once more, his mind turns back to the man who’d just slammed a door in his face; his grandfather, who’d been so kind and gentle with him; who’d taught him how to fish, who’d taken him in when he lost his home, who’d been there when nobody else was – and what had he done? He’d done the same thing he always did – he went along with the orders of someone in power and ended up pushing away his family because of it. Before it was Wilbur and Schlatt – pushing away his father and burning down the flag under Schlatt’s orders, and now it was Philza – following Tubbo’s orders and burning the bridge he had with his grandfather too. If there was one thing he was good at it was lighting fires, but those same flames, he found, always came back to turn the things he cared about to ash.
“Oh, hello Fundy! Are you alright?” He’s jolted out of his thoughts by the sound of a voice, echoing and faint – he knows who it belongs to even before he raises his eyes to meet the empty, white eyes of the ghost hovering in front of him, a smile on his face as he tilts his head to the side and floats down into a sitting position beside Fundy, looking out at the rain still coming down in sheets as he sighs “I was coming to see L’manburg, but the rain started coming down before I could get there, so I had to run to this forest so I didn’t melt! What’re you doing here?” He turns to the fox, but Fundy turns away from the figure who used to be his father, staying silent as Ghostbur’s smile turns into a frown and he floats around till he’s in front of the Fox once more, lightly hovering in the air “Oh no! You seem upset, Fundy – here, have some blue, it’ll help suck away the sadness!” he smiles, rummaging about in his pocket and throwing some of that strange blue ectoplasm out towards Fundy, who let it land in his lap.
There’s a pause for a moment as ghostbur floats, looking around nervously before Fundy sighs, taking the blue and looking at it, letting it stain his paws before clenching his fists around it and throwing it into the forest, causing the spectre to gasp “Oh no! If you do that, it won’t-“
“Forget it!” Fundy snapped, catching the ghost off-guard, who seemed to recoil for a second from the outburst; he watches as Fundy uncurls, letting the back of his head hit the tree and looking up into the branches of the tree, drops of rain making their way through to drip down onto his face. He sighs heavily, closing his eyes before lowering his head once more to meet that empty gaze “Of course, you would show up now.” He laughs, sharp and devoid of humour, hitting the tree lightly “Wilbur was never around when I needed him, and yet, and yet YOU somehow seem to ALWAYS know when to show up!” the laughing continues, as Fundy’s voice cracks and breaks until he’s sobbing audibly, face buried in his arms so he can’t see the ghost reaching out towards him for a moment before pulling back. “Why? Why can’t I stop fucking up like this? It feels like everyone I try and get close to, I end up either pushing away or losing entirely! All I ever wanted to do was…” His voice drops, turning and looking up at the ghost with tears running down his face and drawing in a shaky breath “All I ever wanted to do was make him proud, y’know? I wanted to hear him say, just once, that he was proud of me.”
So engrossed is Fundy in his own sorrow that he doesn’t notice the effect that his words have on Ghostbur; how every mention of Wilbur makes him flinch and recoil somewhat, and how the mention of wanting to make him proud causes the ghost to bring a hand to the wound in his chest, slowly trailing over it as he looks away and Fundy squeezes his eyes shut to try and stop the tears running down his face.
So deep is the fox in his bittersweet grief, that he doesn’t realise that he’s been pulled into Ghostbur’s lap until it’s already happened, his hat removed and set to the side as the spectral figure rests his chin between the fox’s ears, atop his head, arms wrapped around him and brought together in front of him; it’s a moment before he speaks, looking out into the woods “Alivebur…sounds like he was a terrible father. Everything that I’ve heard of him sounds like he was a terrible person, so I can’t imagine he was a good dad, either. But…if that’s the case, why do I have good memories as your dad?” the question hangs in the air, and he continues “Does that mean I wasn’t always an awful dad?”
The only sound that follows is the impact of rain coming down on the leaves and the rustling of the wind rushing through the forest, before Fundy breaks the silence “…You didn’t used to be bad. I still have…good memories, of growing up with you, in L’manburg, it’s just…things went wrong somewhere along the way” he turns his gaze up, looking at the dark grey sky above through the leaves “Sometime – I wonder, y’know? How things could be if you were still around. If Tubbo wasn’t president, if Tommy wasn’t exiled. If you- if Alivebur…had been here when I needed him most instead of just leaving me to deal with everything by myself.” Wilbur rubs his arm sheepishly, looking up too “I…don’t know. People didn’t seem to like Alivebur much, but…everyone still followed him. It seems like all people have to talk about is how much he ruined everything, but If he was really that bad…how come I have good memories at all?” When there’s no answer the spectral figure sighs, running a paw through Fundy’s fur absentmindedly, a slow, steady brush, a gesture that brings them both immediately back to a simpler time – a time when the two of them could sit in the forests surrounding Lmanburg, before they were destroyed, looking out over their home, just a father and his son. Ghostbur wasn’t sure when Fundy fell asleep, he just knew that the next time he looked down, he saw his – Alivebur’s – son, laying against his chest, eyes closed and breathing steadily. A smile crosses faintly across his face as he gazes down at the sleeping fox, brushing through his fur again gently “My little champion…you’ve been so brave, and so strong…” He shifts, looking down at his faintly see-through hands and then at the fox still resting against him, rummaging about in his pocket for something he’d stolen from Philza; a single golden Idol, emerald eyes set into it’s face that seemed to be looking back at him. It felt cold to the touch, even for him, as he tossed it from hand to hand slowly, thinking. It seemed, to him, that as much as everyone liked Ghostbur… …People Needed Alivebur. People needed Wilbur. Tommy needed a brother. Philza needed a son, L’manburg needed a president, and Fundy…Fundy needed a dad.
As he slept, Fundy dreamed. He dreamed of years back, wandering through the forest with Wilbur, walking around L’manburg together, that warm, friendly voice calling him ‘His little champion’ as he stands, side by side in uniform with his father. He dreams of the revolution, of fighting together – of growing up and into the clothes that he wore today; before those dreams turn sour, and he can hear the laughing bleating in his ears from the long-dead tyrant, snapping awake with a gasp. A soft bleat fills his ears as he wakes up, glancing up to see the fluffy blue wool of friend surrounding him, being happily used as a makeshift pillow as they munch casually on some grass. Ghostbur is nowhere to be seen, the sun shining down faintly as the fox rests in the grass underneath the tree.
In his lap rests a damp, well-worn, entirely solid black beanie, slowly drying in the warmth of the midday sun.

httyd au: character plans
TommyInnit:
A funny and charismatic kid, tommy can always bring a shy dragon or person out of their shell.
Best friends with Tubbo, Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Snotlout
I mean like him and tubbo are pretty much polar opposites but they met when they were really young and help eachother out tons
Tubbo will help tommy with dragon studies and tommy will defend tubbo from anyone wanting to hurt him or fishlegs
Snotlout and tommy grew up as rivals, always trying to gain the attention of the village, but as they grew older they realised how much more enjoyable their competitions would be if they were close friends
Tommy has a red and grey deadly nadder called nox. he's an energetic dragon with a playful side, however he ca get aggressive if someone threatens tommy.
Tommy will often just sit on a bench with nox, staring out at the sunset as he hummed the delicate tune of his two favourite songs, mellohi and cat
He hummed the tunes so much that Nox as even started to copy him, recently Nox has started humming the tunes to calm Tommy down if he ever upset or angry
Tubbo:
Tubbo is a shy yet chaotic kid that's an expert in all things dragon
He's best friends with Fishlegs, Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Tommy, he looke up to them both, craving Fishlegs' knowledge and Tommy's confidence
He has a proud and friendly Razorwhip called Silver. Silver is literally Tubbo's biggest supporter, she's so proud of how far he's come
He has also trained a pack of Night Terrors that have all vowed to protect Berk. The large pack of Night Terrors stumbled upon Berk by complete chance, they were seeking sanctuary for their injured leader and lucky enough for them, Tubbo was willing to help!
So he nutured the leader back to full health, allowing the pack to stay on the island while their leader recovered, and they haven't left since, even know their leader is good as new.
Silver has also memorized the tunes of Tommy's favourite songs because Nox taught her, she understood that tyey also calmed Tubbo down, so she used them for both dragon riders if they got upset or stressed
Technoblade:
Pretty much an urban myth among the residents of Berk, very few have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with him.
Despite what the stories say, Techno is most definitely not a cold hearted killer or a cruel tyrant, he's just an awkward dragon expert with a thirst for victory
Techno has grey Titan Wing Triple Stryke, with rose gold tail spikes, called Spike. Spike is a fearless dragon destined for greatness and victory, with a hunger for success and strength, he and Techno are the perfect duo.
Spike was being hunted down by dragon hunters, but once Techno stumbled into the currently vulnerable dragon's path, he sensed the strength and potential that radiated from it.
The two are very protective of eachother, especially as they're usually the only other sign of life that they see. Techno and Spike live alone on a small island. Techno has a small farm there and he'll occasionally fly to Berk to trade for supplies
Jschlatt:
Schlatt is a misunderstood rebel, haunted by his past and love for chaos. One of the only people in Berkian history that has been forcefully exhiled, rumours of his unhinged behaviour and heartless actions were soread by the village elders, tainting his reputation.
Schlatt has a protective and wary Skrill named Spark, or affectionately dubbed Sparky. Spark is pretty much the only friend that Schlatt can rely on, so naturally Spark is protective and loyal to Schlatt.
Before he was exhiled, he requested that Phil and Hiccup, one of the village blacksmiths and the greatest dragon trainer, also son of the chief, could make him a body suit that would make him immune to Soarky's lightning bolt abilities.
Back on Berk, he was best friends with Quackity and Fundy, but those friendships collapsed when they went behind his back and spread false rumours, detailing Schlatt's appailling acts against the law of Berk
In the four years that he's been exhiled, he's only spoken to a few people. Among those few are Tommy and Tubbo.
He first met Tommy and Tubbo when they were trying to rescue Nox from a dragon trap. Schlatt knew the traps, he and Spark had destroyed many of them before, so he offered his help and a cautious, yet desperate Tommy accepted it. He freed Nox with ease, earning both dragon trainer's gratitude.
Philza:
Basically everyone's most treasured member of the village. He's the village blacksmith and everyone's support beacon, somehow becoming everyone's second father
He'll run his errands around Berk, whistling as he basks in the morning sun. Everytime he sees a familiar face, he'll double check on them, asking if they've hydrated, asking if they've eaten well and asking how they're doing mentally
He's always there to talk if something's wrong. Like i'm talking he'll drop all of his errands and take you to his and Kristin's house and sit you infront of the fire with a cup of steaming hot tea
He's best friends with Wilbur, Techno and Gobber
His dragon is a Stormcutter called Skye. She's a loyal, caring dragon, often motherly to young dragons that seek shelter on Berk.
If you can't find him on Berk, he's probably soaring through the clouds as the sunsets, with Kristin, on their dragon's backs
He's also pretty famous for his building and invention blue prints, his expertise is greatly sort after due to the aesthetically element of them
Recently, he found out that Tubbo adores bees and Tommy adores cows so, to make his sons happy, he's started learning how to make lil bee and cow figures and somehow incorporate them into his designs
From one corner or the archipelago to the other it's pretty much accepted that he's the most talented dragon tanner, even being anle to tame a titan wing if given the chance
Nihachu:
AKA Niki, she's pretty much the big sister of the village, a soft-spoken and kind dragon trainer that's always there to talk if someone needs her
She's pretty famous for being a dragon carer, she'll look after dragons that are injured or orphaned, raising them to full health so they can live life to the fullest
Niki has a shy, peaceful Lightfury, named Luna. She has pastel purple eyes and glimmering white scales. A timid, peaceful dragon without a care in the world, until Niki is threatened or hurt.
Pretty much the perfect team, Luna and Niki have the closest bond out of anyone on the dragon trainer team
She's best friends with Wilbur, Techno, Fundy and Tommy
As the story progresses, she becomes a mentor for Hiccup, helping him heal Toothless and develop the bond between them
Even as the story develops to httyd 3, she's still his mentor. Basically like sibling figures to eachother, Niki helps him learn how to approach the wild Lightfury without scaring her off

okay im just gonna type bullshit and throw it under a cut so no one has to look at it if they dont want to. its just gonna be rambling and probably wont be very coherent but. thoughts on tommys role in this arc.
Like I said in the tags of that reblog, Tommy is not selfish. That is not one of his traits. However, in this arc, he is choosing to be selfish. That’s the key difference in his character right now; Tommy has stood by Wilbur repeatedly, stood by L’Manburg til the end, he continually put everything else over himself and the discs (although he has still been selfish in more minor things), but now his Best Friend is in charge. He trusts his best friend. Which means he shouldn’t have to dedicate everything to L’Manbug, because that’s Tubbo’s job. This is finally his time to get the discs back -- but it’s being taken away from him. He’s sick of being selfless! He’s sick of it! He wants his fucking discs and that’s OKAY!
Tommy didn’t choose vice presidency. He turned down FULL presidency because he wanted to chase the discs. He wanted Wilbur to be President so it wouldn’t be his business. Then it went to Tubbo, which is still good, but then Tommy got dragged in as Vice. He said himself that the discs were his top priority and no one listened.
Tommy should not have been the Vice President. This is not the time for him. Quackity should have been Vice. Or, maybe, Fundy. But it shouldn’t have been Tommy.
The biggest change here is that Tubbo can’t just follow Tommy anymore, he can’t stand by him no matter what. He Needs to put L’Manburg first. Tommy is still putting his friendship with Tubbo first; he hasn’t processed the change. He hasn’t accepted that Tubbo is no longer just a civilian. He sees Tubbo putting L’Manburg over him, and sees betrayal. He’s been betrayed (or thinks he has) so many times that trust issues were fucking inevitable. Wilbur's absolute descent into madness and blowing up L’Manburg, Techno “betraying” Pogtopia (he wasn’t a traitor in the slightest, he told them EXACTLY what he was planning), and before that just the entire election, L’Manburg as a concept turning on him and being kicked out... And now he might be kicked out again. This time by his best friend. His best friend, who was never kicked out, who spent time with Schlatt, who was right up there in the cabinet. It’s very reasonable for him to think that Tubbo’s going the same way as Schlatt - but he isn’t. Not even close.
But he doesn’t see how close he’s getting to Wilbur’s behaviour. The way he treats Tubbo is inching closer and closer to how Wilbur treated him. The constant guilt tripping, the slight manipulation in almost every conversation, Tubbo’s responsibilites never factoring into his decisions. He doesn’t think he’s losing his mind the way Wilbur did, because he fails to realise that Wilbur didn’t think he was losing his mind either.
Wilbur lost it over his obsession with power, with L’Manburg, with control. Tommy is going through the same thing with the discs. They both got intensely paranoid, started to believe that everyone is turning on them. Tommy, at least, has a solid basis for his paranoia. WIlbur’s came from much less. Tommy can follow his own thought process perfectly, but he’s still making excuses for Wilbur. He can’t see that he’s on the same path, because he can’t see what path Wilbur was actually on.
He can’t see what path Tubbo is on. Because he refuses to process the change in responsibilities, he can’t understand Tubbo’s thought process, he can’t figure out his real motivations, he has let the rift between them grow into a chasm. Tubbo is trying to take care of everyone, including Tommy, but that means not playing favourites. That means cleaning up messes and not letting things slide. Tubbo has never held Tommy accountable like this, and Tommy doesn’t understand it. He just sees his best friend threatening to exile him.
Until he processes the new situation, Tommy cannot fix this. And I don’t think he’ll be able to understand it unless he gets exiled.
The two options here are exile, and Tommy may eventually figure out why, or not exiling him, and he continues to not process anything, because Tubbo will once again be bending everything around Tommy. If he exiles him, things between them will get a LOT worse before they get better, but if he keeps him in then nothing will actually be solved. They’ll just be ignoring the problem.
yeah this is a fucking mess but im too tired to clear it up, maybe i’ll make a better version of this later

Return (Good End)
(Well, I said Return was a two parter. Consider this me extending the olive branch for what I’ve done)
About a week ago, Phil had gotten a letter postmarked from the land his sons had journeyed to. For the first time, though, the letter wasn’t from any of his sons. In fact, it was from Tubbo, who, at this point might as well be one of his own.
The letter had detailed everything that had gone on since the boys stopped writing, and had confirmed Phil’s worries. He had spent the past week getting his affairs in order and then went off to solve the problem.
Tubbo and Niki had let him in, but the boys were nowhere to be seen. However, as soon as Phil made it to the true subterranean base, he could hear them quarrelling in the distance. Loudest of them all was Wilbur’s voice. Phil followed the sound and came upon his three sons in a secluded corner, arguing. The fight was mostly just Tommy and Wilbur, however.
Techno, being the least invested in the fight, noticed first, but said nothing.
Wilbur caught Techno staring and looked over to see. As soon as his eyes met his father’s, he dropped every bit of malice, and pulled his face into an empty yet charming grin. “Dad!” He exclaimed, already making his way to Phil, arms outstretched.
Against all instinct, Phil strode past Wilbur and went straight to Tommy. He pulled the boy close to him as well as he could based on their heights. A wing extended between him and Techno, who had also made a move for Tommy. “You’re doing the wrong thing,” Phil said, staring Wilbur down.
Wilbur chuckled incredulously. “What? Did Tommy call for you or something? I’m doing the only thing we can.”
Phil scoffed. This wasn’t his son. It couldn’t be. Wilbur was smarter than this. The man in front of him had nothing behind his eyes. He smiled, but it meant nothing. He could tell. He was facing a completely deranged man. “Wilbur, what’s gotten into you?” He asked, feeling nothing but shock and horror.
“What?” Wilbur replied. “Nothing’s gotten into me. I’m still your son! The revolutionary! The visionary! Nothing’s changed!” He said, still smiling the same empty smile.
“The man I raised wouldn’t hurt his brother so purposely and seriously. Look at him. He’s afraid of you.”
Tommy still clung to his father like a scared little boy. Silently, he was crying.
An angry glint flashed in Wilbur’s eye as he sneered. “He’s not afraid of me. He’s afraid of my power. Tommy’s nothing more than a bratty little child who wants his way and has to get his dad to solve problems for him. He’s petulant! He’s weak.”
Phil tried his best not to flinch as Tommy clenched his hands at the last word, fingers digging into skin. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.
“I was the one who called for him.” Tubbo had stepped in from spectating, and stared Wilbur down, and made his way beside Phil and Tommy. “Tommy... he’s my best friend. I couldn’t stand to see him fighting you all the time when we have a bigger enemy. Schlatt wants all of us dead and we can’t agree on how to take him down. And you know what else? I HATE how you use me as a weapon against Tommy. You use our relationship. Wilbur, you’ve used me just as much as Schlatt did.”
Wilbur’s grin broke. “Now, now, that’s a little harsh, don’t you think? I’m not the one who had you publicly executed.”
Tubbo scowled, trying his best to intimidate without looking childish. “That’s not the point, Wilbur. The point is you’re hurting the people who are supposed to help you. Think about it. The only person you haven’t pushed away is Techno and even he just sides with you for chaos. You can’t even lie that you care about anyone anymore. You admitted that you were going to blow up Manburg even as it had people we cared about in it. You were going to kill your friends for a statement. Niki was waiting for you to tell her it was safe to leave, and you never did until the disaster and we all had to leave. She’s been one of the strongest fighters against Schlatt, and you would have let her die.”
Wilbur looked at Niki. She was trying not to cry, and standing in solidarity with the others. “I know there’s some good in you, Wilbur,” she said. “I saw it at the festival when Schlatt was threatening me. I want to support you Wil, I really do. I want to see the fall of Schlatt, but... not like this. We won’t be able to win if we do it like this.”
“I DON’T WANT TO WIN ANYMORE!” Wilbur roared. “I just want it GONE! I want Schlatt to lose like I have! I want it to hurt! Leaving anything of what he did standing would be an act of mercy and he doesn’t DESERVE mercy!”
Before Wilbur could continue his tirade, Tommy broke from Phil’s arms and punched him in the jaw. He stepped back towards his friends and family, and glared at Wil. “You just want to get back at him. Can’t you see that’s lowering yourself to his level?”
Scanning the room, it hit him. Everyone was against him. He was at a loss for words. He stammered desperately, but failed to come up with anything to say. The realisation was almost visceral.
“Think about what you really want, son.” Said Phil.
Wilbur hung his head. “I dunno... revenge? To take down Schlatt, at any cost.”
“That’s what we all want. To take down a tyrant,” said Tommy.
Phil looked at Wilbur softly. “I think you and the others all have a common goal. Maybe you should try to level with them rather than fighting.”
The look in his father’s eyes broke Wilbur’s heart. He had been acting downright deplorable but Phil held no malice. No anger or disappointment. Why was he offering him a second chance? Wilbur wiped a tear from his eye with the back of his hand. Maybe he could reconcile. “Heh. Maybe I should.”
“Then come here,” Phil said, immediately welcoming Wilbur into a warm embrace. “Welcome back.”
A sense of relief filled the room as the two separated. Wilbur smiled again. A real smile. “Well,” he said, looking around. “I suppose the best time to make up for all my shit is now. Come on, let’s get this all figured out.”

This was a submission, I received:
———————————————
(Is it ok if I go ?meta? on you. I need to talk to someone about this.)
(DSMP)Why does the New L’Manburg/L’Manburg nation always have to face the consequences of the actions made by the people?
Dream didn’t like it when Tommy played a prank on George’s house, causing a fire that could’ve be easily fixed? So he threatens to turn the whole nation into a prison with obsidian walls because of that one prank. And wouldn’t budge unless Tommy was exiled.
Dream also blamed Tommy for the destruction of the community house? Well time to go blow up the nation again. Not even going to give you a fair fight cause I’ll be blowing it up at 3 pm the next day. (He didn’t even stick to that!)
Phil was placed under house arrest by the Government (3 people, plus Ranboo but he didn’t really do anything) of New L’Manburg and watched his friend get executed. Along with seeing some become almost corrupted because of it? Time to help Dream and Techno blow up the entire nation. With the builds, the lanterns, his house, Ghostbur’s sewers and books, Friend and people’s homes just to send a message specifically about how it’s wrong to create a government.
Techno was hunted down by the government (3 people) and executed without being given a trial?(not that it would’ve done anything) Alright, time for the whole nation to be completely decimated by all these withers. Because apparently, just because the government is somehow corrupted, the whole nation is too now.
Fundy was screwed over by the people he cared for in his life. Even though Wilbur didn’t like Fundy in Pogtopia because Fundy only told Wilbur near the end of Wilbur’s life that he was a spy and that burning the flag, tearing the walls, disowning Wilbur was to help keep a cover (Guys just to be clear this isn’t a Fundy hate post or anything. He did what he had to do to get close to Schlatt, I understand that. I just wished more people realized this or I wish Fundy had told Wilbur he was a spy earlier) Well time to sabotage New L’Manburg’s supplies so they cannot fight equally and time to just watch as my friends go fight for a nation while I do nothing because they need to be taught a lesson.
Niki doesn’t like Tommy and is being ignored by the people? Time to burn down the L’mantree and not really help them defend their nation (she even said that this was her home) because of a dislike towards one person in particular. Even though Tommy isn’t the only one part of New L’Manburg? That doesn’t matter, because if Tommy is part of the nation, then the whole nation and everyone needs to suffer because of past actions. This is teaching a lesson apparently.
———————————-
Hey. Yeah, it’s frustrating. Tommy’s actions did not justify anything close to the level of punishment - Dream wasn’t looking for justice, he was always looking to hurt Tommy as badly as possible. Dream is scary because he has no morals and no restraint - he blew up L’Manburg specifically to spite Tommy. (maybe there’s other motives too but I really thinking Tommy was a key motivator.
Techno has a dogmatic worldview and its dangerous too, because he always thinks what he does is entirely justified, when in fact he’s lost his vision of fixing a country and is instead his thoughts are clouded with revenge and destruction. Likewise, Philza supports Techno and is unwilling to see his faults. He’s convinced himself that blowing up a country is entirely fair because he dislikes a few actions from the Govt.
Fundy is struggling, he was a citizen of L’Manburg from the start and he’s never got what he wanted from it, he’s always felt lost. It’s not about teaching them a lesson really, Fundy’s lashing out and realising he doesn’t really have ties to the country that let him down any more. We should be sympathetic, even if he’s become so disillusioned. I wish it were Fundy who had destroyed L’Manburg - he had far more of a right to do it than Technoblade ever did, tragic as the story is.
Niki too, she’s blaming Tommy but that’s not the source of her real hurt. It’s Wilbur. It’s easy to blame Tommy but L’Manburg failed her a long time ago and she no longer really welcome there. Burning the tree is a statement, of how she’s given up hope. She’s moving on from L’Manburg and lashing out at others in the meantime. Her story is tragic too.
L’Manburg as a country didn’t deserve to fall. It was Dream who orchestrated this, with Technoblade as the weapon of Destruction. They don’t see the country, they see something to be destroyed and care little for the history or why it exists. These are not good people. They’re twisted people, and they’re broken people.
L’Manburg is gone but Tommy and Tubbo and Quackity will remember this.
