a marionette waltz ~
[fluff] umiri yahata (timoris) x mutsumi wakaba (mortis)
(i'll be using their stage names in this, since it takes place during a stage performance.)
the dimly lit room was quiet, just as mortis liked it. she sat in one of the velvet chairs by the window, reading a book. a horror novel that oblivionis has given to her, it wasn't something she expected she'd enjoy. but, she can't pull herself away from it.
that, until, she hears a voice call her name. she looked up, it was timoris. "timoris.." she said as she closed the book and set it beside her.
"do you.. need something?." she asked quietly, as her head tilts to the side slightly.
timoris took a few steps forward, "i wanted to come check on you, since you were nowhere to be seen." mortis let out a soft hum as her eyes casted downwards. "i see." she stood up after a few seconds, her eyes gazing up at timoris'.
mortis held out one of her gloved hands, "would you.. like to dance with me?." her voice was calm and quiet as she spoke. timoris hummed softly and gently took mortis' hand in hers. "yes, i would love to."
a small smile played on mortis' lips as her hand rested on the others shoulder, and timoris' free hand went to her lower back.
the two of them were at ease and peace as they waltzed, basking in the comfort of one another. though, mortis was quite surprised when timoris dipped her towards the end.
they both caught their breaths, as they looked at eachother. their eyes not tearing away from eachother for a moment.
"thank you.. that was surprisingly refreshing.." timoris said quietly.
mortis nodded in agreement, "it was.. we should do it again some other time.." she whispered, a slight blush dusted her cheeks as she spoke. it was barely noticeable because of her mask. timoris was blushing as well, though she hid it quickly.
the two of them decided to stay together longer, since the both of them seemed to enjoy the other's company.
