Please don’t make these “oh my god nobody is reblogging polls just REBLOG you horrible people, it’s a statistic that shows what people aren’t doing their DUTY” posts, they make blogging stuff like bug race feel less like a friendly game and more like a moral quandary. Obviously people scrolling through many polls very fast don’t mean any harm, and it’s possible to say “hey things would be more fun if you showed the thing to other people” and /or “it makes me sad no one is showing my thing” without acting like these people have burned down half of Chicago.
You feeling unpleasant does not mean all of society is being harmed, and you aren’t entitled to angrily guilting people whenever you don’t like something. If you really need to go on a rant for emotional release, don’t tag it? I just think it’s crazy I see people talking about not reblogging things enough the same way they talk about stuff like transphobia.

Hi I just wanted to say that as someone who made about a dozen or so gifs before I decided it just wasn't for me, some of the stuff you've posted looks like actual magic to me. (I literally gasped out loud when I realized that the Ed in the kitty basket was moving!!) Thank you so much for all the effort you put into creating things for this fandom <3
🥹🥹🥹 thank you so much!!
it is definitely time-consuming and i am always looking to try new techniques and improve my skills (only recently learned rotoscoping which is what i used for kitty basket Ed and it required me to learn a whole different software skdjfhdjsk) it means so much to have all the effort appreciated!! 💗💗💗

there is this idea that crime is caused by poverty. it's so popular that people state it as fact. and i think there might be some truth to it. but honestly, i think it's overstated and the relationship between crime and poverty is a lot more complex than people think.
just anecdotally speaking, it never sat well with me because my personal experience has been that criminals tend to be opportunistic predators not people acting out of desperation. i knew lots of people who shoplifted or robbed people and almost none of them were so desperately impoverished that they needed to resort to crime.
they chose crime because it was easy money. there was nothing preventing them from getting a job. they just didn't want to work a 9 to 5. the bandit lifestyle was just a lot more convenient. let those other suckers work their asses off and then you can just rob them. i knew people who were living comfortable middle class lifestyles from boosting and drug dealing.
and the irony is, this sort of behavior actually impoverished our community in a lot of ways. it seemed to me like the crime came first. when my parents group here this area was really nice. then in the 90s and 00s crime became rampant and the entire community went to shit for a variety of reasons (luckily things have turned around in recent years thanks to some tough-on-crime policies). my own family (which was below the poverty line for most of my childhood) has been stolen from multiple times (including our car one time which really fucked us over). these people weren't robin hoods stealing from the rich and giving to the poor and they also weren't impoverished victims just trying to survive. these people were just straight up predators without a conscience.

cannot stress enough how much I hate "aging user base" humor. your 20s and 30s are not old. Hell, your 40s are not old. You don't feel like shit because you're not a teen anymore, you feel like shit because an induced lifestyle of having to sit down and be still everyday for school and work for decades of the most formative years for your bones has taken a toll on your very existence. Because watching horror after horror rapidly unfold in the world has degraded your soul.
You're not "old", you're not that lucky yet.
You're just tired and in pain.

Neopronoun user culture is constantly feeling the need to explain that neopronouns date back to the 1700's, even though you tell others that they don't need to justify their pronouns to transphobes

Friendly reminders to new users!
Make your likes and following tabs private
Reblogging is the best (and really only) way to improve a post's visibility on the site. If you like a post, reblogging is the best way to show that
Replace the default profile pic! It doesn't have to be a photo of real you (and probably shouldn't be, tbh), just something to prove you're not a bot. You will get blocked by ppl you follow if they think you're a bot.
Report bots that follow you as spam, not inappropriate content. This helps them get removed rather than put behind an 18+ restriction.
You can mute tumblr live for 7 days in your settings under the "content you see" section (this helps prevent tumblr from tracking your location through the tumblr live feature). Here, you can also filter out any tags and content you don't like. This is much more effective than posting dnis or asking ppl not to post things. (Also, most ppl are chill with tagging content if you ask them, but if they aren't, that doesn't make them a bad person)
If you don't like someone's stuff, you can block them at any time for any reason! Same with unfollowing. Curate your experience!
You can follow tags, but make sure to follow blogs, too. You'll have a much better experience this way.
Whether or not a person reblogs a post is not an indicator of moral quality. Don't feel pressured to reblog a post that claims that ppl who don't reblog are bad ppl. That's just not true.
