Genuinely thinking of the moment where Ava is “new Ava” and she drops all of her antics - harassing Gregory (genuinely a good change), not preparing, not following rules, etc - but doesn’t stop teasing or honestly going out of her way to turn down and insult Janine and sometimes even tries to make a point that Janine’s ideas won’t work.
Supports my theory that in order to push Janine away, she has to consistently insult her and belittle her like a closeted middle schooler with a lil gay crush.
(And let’s not forget that Janine knew immediately that “Back that Azz Up” would cure Ava.)

okay can i just say that in the church scene when Brenda tells Thomas: "you sort of have this problem where you can't walk away from people. Even when you should".
And even though Brenda hadn't witnessed all that happened in the Glade, Thomas' character story started like that: he couldn't be detached from studying his friends like Teresa was, so he had to erase his memory and try to save them in a Maze and through WCKD. He couldn't let Alby and Minho die in the Maze, so he spent the night in it (and his actions build the plot of the story), nor he wanted to let go of Chuck for the way he felt responsible for him. And let's remember how guilty he felt when Winston died in the Scorch. Even though he was the Greenie who new them the least.
He dies everytime someone sacrifices for him, that's his unspeakable pain. Anyone who knew him would have done the same, devotedly. And his biggest support was from Newt, of course. A broken boy who had given up on life and was already infected by the Flare; but that didn't matter: "didn't think it would make any difference". "You know we can still fix this Newt" Thomas' heart breaks. "No matter what the cost" is Newt's declaration of sacrifice, he'd rather take his last moments to save Minho than to find a cure to save himself. So he stood by Tommy all the time. "You can't give up, I won't let you". "But from that moment you ran into the Maze, I knew I would follow you anywhere. And I have. We all have."
The point is that, the same day Brenda reminded Thomas of his "problem", he acted on her suggestion. He let go. The way he grimaces before he stands up... He let go of Newt, laying on the floor, his friends' eyes astonished. Brenda's say "It's not your fault", she knows. But Thomas' only convey guilt and sorrow, and a huge amount of strength to keep fighting for them, and for Newt. Thomas walked away to finish the mission; just like Newt would've wanted.
well this is just me rambling about the whole point of the movies and Thomas' main character's importance....
But let me know if you have thoughts to add or counter, i'll be happy to follow!!! 🎀

Why is it always "I can't stop thinking about you" and never
"Tere saath mein ho subah  Tu hi sabse pehle ho haan  Raaton mein baatein teri  Naa neend ko de jagah"
