Today’s the day. Valentine’s Day and day 3 of the Valentine’s Week Self Ship Event conducted by @cherry-bomb-ships. And seeing as today is a very special day dedicated to romantic f/os, I would like to make a very special announcement.

It has been a long and lovely 4 years since I fell in love with this particular f/o. He has done so much for me and considering we recently had our fourth anniversary earlier this month, I figured I would make today a celebration of this charming chef who owns my entire heart…

A Jynx x Teruteru Valentine’s Special:

A short and sweet drabble for my beloved Teruteru and all the love he has made me feel throughout these past few years. Enjoy! 💝

Just don’t talk too much and give it to him. Don’t back out, just give it to him.

Jynx paced back and forth through the kitchen, fidgeting with butterflies in their stomach. They were currently getting ready to give Teruteru the gift they had worked on so diligently. Problem was they were far too anxious to just confidently hand it over. And as much as they were entranced by their own overthinking, that would have to be cut short as the familiar sound of a chef’s voice entered the room.

Teruteru: Helllooo, honeypot! I thought I’d find ya in here.

As the kitchen door opened wide, Jynx squeaked and stuff their gift behind their back as quickly as possible before turning to face their beloved boyfriend.

Jynx: A-ah! Teru, hey there! What brings you here at this time of day?

Teruteru: Oh, I don’ know, just swingin’ by to spend Valentine’s Day with mah super cute and gorgeous girlfriend.

Jynx: I see! Well, y-you’re in luck ‘cause I was just about to go find my handsome li’l boyfriend to spend Valentine’s Day with him. I was about to wrap up in here actually, w-which is takin’ me a while ‘cause I’m doin’ somethin’ very… specific.

Teruteru: Jynx, hun, I can tell your holdin’ something behind your back.

Jynx: O-oh… Y-y-yeah, I almost forgot about that.

He knows. Don’t back out now. Give it to him.

Jynx: Ehehe, well don’t worry about it. It’s just something I was holding randomly that I meant to put away and then you walked in, so, uh…

Teruteru: If tha’s the case then why don’t ya put it away? It ain’t like I’m gonna stop ya. Unless that is… that’s my Valentine’s Day gift ya got in your hands!

He knows. There’s no going back now. Just give him the goddamn gift.

And they tried. They tried their hardest to move, but their arms wouldn’t budge at all. In a fit of nervousness they looked to the ground with a flushed face, embarrassed at how poorly this gift exchange was going.

Jynx: Hahahaa, well ya got me. This is your gift behind my back. A-and I would love to give to ya, I really would! B-but, y’know…

Teruteru: Hey, wha’s that thing on the counter over there?

He pointed past them and at the actually clear counter which didn’t stop Jynx from turning their attention to it. And with their attention turned, so was their back, giving Teruteru the chance to swiftly snatch the object from their now uncovered hands. Jynx yelped and attempted to grab it back, but it was no use.

Teruteru: Got it! Now, let’s see what ya have here for… me.

His expression changed into one of surprise when he saw the stuffed animal in his hands. It was a cutesy looking dog stitched together with many bold shades of red. A single glance at it’s floppy ears, sparkling eyes, and heart-shaped nose made his heart melt instantly. Jynx on the other hand stood there with their face buried in their hands, blush just managing to tint the tops of their ears.

Jynx: I-I-I can explain! Y’see, I did consider making you a drink, but I thought to myself, “Nah, that’s too easy, it’ll be super low effort and he’ll probably think I don’t care!” S-so after a few long nights of labor, I ended up making you a li’l plush dog, but I got super afraid to give it to you because honestly it’s a mediocre dog and hell you’ve probably outgrown plushies at this point and-

Teruteru: I love it.

Jynx: Y-you what?

Teruteru: I love it!!

He tackle-hugged them tightly before reaching up to pepper their faces with kisses, giggling happily under his breath. Every insecurity Jynx had before was immediately vaporized and they joyfully began kissing him back.

Teruteru: Oh, thank you, suga’! This is so thoughtful of you, goin’ through all that trouble to make me a whole plushie. I didn’t even know you could sew!

Jynx: Y-yeah, well, I’ve had plenty of experience sewin’ stuff together. And even if I didn’t know how to sew, I would’ve gladly learned how to do it just for you, sweets.

Teruteru: Aww, I love ya so, Jujubee. I couldn’ imagine spendin’ this day without you.

Jynx: I love you, too, Starlight. I love ya so much.

Teruteru: Ahhaha. Honestly, this makes my gift feel a li’l bit inferior now.

Jynx: Whaddaya mean? I’m sure whatever ya got me will be like, the bestest and awesomest thing ever, dude.

Teruteru: Hmhmmhmm! A’right, if ya say so, suga’.

He momentarily stepped out of the kitchen, returning with what appeared to be a large basket decorated with a lovely pink, plaid cloth.

Teruteru: H-here. I spent a good few hours fillin’ this thing up for a nice ‘n’ romantic meal. ‘n’ wha’s more romantic than a picnic on Valentine’s Day?

Jynx: Bro, holy shit! You made all that for a picnic? With me?! Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you!

They ran up to him and scooped him up into their arms, only to put him down right after in fear of running to well-prepared food.

Jynx: Whoops, s-sorry! Don’t want ya droopin’ that basket or anythin’, haha. You okay-

Teruteru: God damn do I love you, dumplin’. Maybe after our picnic we can have an even more romantic night-in, hmm? Scented candles ‘n’ rose petals on the bed ‘n’ all that.~

Jynx: O-oh my god, Teru… If ya keep talkin’ like that I won’t even make it to the picnic.

Teruteru: Hehe, I know. Just one of the many reasons you're so adorable, pumpkin.

The two exchanged goofy, lovestruck expressions, sharing just a few more kisses between their soft laughter.
