Lockdown Day 21 04/13/2020 Chaos. That's it. Send tumblr. When I set out to do this, it was about finding the silver lining in these pandemic times. But after 21 days, we're still locked down (for good reason) and this project has only gotten tedious and, dare I say it, monotonous. Lord knows we all need a little less monotony, now more than ever. So even though we haven't been delivered from this nightmarish hell, I'm not going to be drawing the same picture of my dog EVERY DAY. Maybe every other day, maybe twice a week, idk I'm just trying to stay sane now.

Day 14: Lemon

I thought yesterday's chili/lemon talisman was quite clever, so I made it, but since I'm pressed for fruit (only been able to identify 83), I decided lemon deserves its own day (also I loVE lemons).

This one is like lemon meets ice cream meets mistletoe. Issa vibe.

Day 13: Mirchi (special appearance by nimbu)

aka chili (ikr unbelievable, but according to the umbrella definition of fruit, chili is one).

The number 13 is considered inauspicious in many cultures. So much so that in India, building contractors tend to skip 13 when numbering floors, so the floors just jump from 12 to 14.

Indians also commonly hang talismans, made with 7 chilies and 3 lemons, around places of work, on new vehicles, etc. to ward off bad luck.

Day 11: Orange

The first of many many MANY orange citrus fruits. This is a 100 day thing, I have no choice but to draw oranges, mandarins, satsumas, blood oranges, kinnows, bitter oranges, musambis, tangerines and clementines.

I haven't even started on the lemon family. Yeesh.

Day 6: Peach

This was inspired by one of my favorite pieces of art, 'The Treachery of Images'. Realistic style again, funny because Magritte is a surrealist but this was so much more fun to do than I expected.

Lockdown Day 20 04/12/2020 I had planned to do this Toon Me thing on the last day of the lockdown (which was supposed to be tomorrow) but fuCK THAT, they've extended it for what looks like the foreseeable future. Look, I'm a reasonable person, so it makes sense that we remain social distanced and quarantined for longer, obviously, but I'd really rather stick pins in my eyes at this point. Happy fucken Easter or whatever.
