Sure! romance recs trash edition:

Cinderella trilogy by K. Webster: He's a billionaire and she's his inept office cleaner and he ends up becoming her sugar daddy and offering her stupid amounts of money to do a bunch of humiliating stuff ranging from miming a blowjob on a breadstick to getting off in public. She's a brat, he's kind of a bitch, and both the humor and sex stuff is on point with this one.

Act Your Age by Eve Dangerfield: Daddy kink but make it even more perverted and Australian; Kate accidentally sleeps with her boss Tyler during a work trip and realizes they're wildly compatible in that they like to do a lot of sleazy stepdaddy roleplay together. It's super dirty but also gets really emotional as time goes on and I came to sympathize a lot with both main characters.

Just One More Night by Caitlin Crews: I'm still unsure what the actual plot of this book is but that's okay because the vibes are IMMACULATE: Indy met Stefan a near ago in a shady alleyway somewhere in Europe when she was held at gunpoint. He ends up executing the guy and they have sex and when she observes they didn't use a condom he utters the immortal lines "you American girls are always on the pill". Anyway it turns out Stefan is (was?) an assassin and he needed a year to get his shit cleaned up and now they're meeting again and the rest of the book is sex and psychoanalyzing Indy's commitment issues.

Wicked trilogy by M. James: He's a Russian mobster who's stalking her because she killed her dad when he wanted to do it himself and now he's all butthurt about it for some reason. It takes like 1.5 books for him to confirm it is her because she's stripping under an assumed identity, and she spends most of book 2 chained to a bed before turning the tables on him.

Heart2Heart: A Charity Anthology - Vol. 5 - Edited by Leslie Copeland

My Thoughts

I've seen a few of these floating around my suggestions on Kindle, and have been intrigued for a while. As such, you would think I would start with the first volume. But of course I didn't - I had to be contrary! So here we are, beginning this short story anthology adventure with volume 5!

With short story anthologies, there's always a risk of disliking some stories over the others. With this one, I can honestly say this was not the case for me! I really did enjoy them all! These stories ran me through every emotion - it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, though the happy endings were very heavily implied, and appreciated.

It was lovely to see glimpses into various stories, characters, and places. Each story took the Never Have I Ever challenge and spun it into its own beautiful little world. Honestly, I wanted more! I wanted to see these stories for farther, see where they could go beyond the constraints of the anthology. A few of the stories had very open-ended endings which could lend to this, but I am also perfectly happy imaging them all on my own!

Overall, I am truly pleased I picked up this anthology. I got so many wonderful stories, and now have a whole list of authors to check out for further reading! I will absolutely be checking out the other Heart2Heart anthologies, as well! How can I not?

It was about ten in the morning, and I was drunk already, because we were leaving Saalfelden for Kaprun, where we would start training in earnest. "Always in a rush," I muttered. "We have to finish the gin before we go. Here, have a drink."

He shook his head. "Second squad's outside already."

"Piss on the second squad."

"You're drunk," Winn said, slapping my back. "day and night." He laughed. One of the first athletes returned from Zell, he had helped mix and consume a pitcher of iced tea and gin while we prepared to move out. "That's the kind of squad leader I like." He lifted a tumbler and drank it down.

"Have a drink, Chris," I said. I poured the mixture into another glass until it spilled over onto the frayed reed rug. "I don't drink myself," I remarked as I lifted the pitcher, put its side lip against my mouth, and wet my face. "but I like to see other people having a good time."

Are there any sugar daddy or sugar mama books?

You know, I've yet to come across a sugar mama romance (there have been a few books I've read where the hero had a sugar mama in the past but they... were never really framed as healthy relationships which I feel is kind of telling).

There are a lot of historical romances with wealthy heroes and not-so-wealthy heroines (and he'll inevitably buy stuff for her) but I can only think of two heroes who actually have sugar daddy vibes, and both of them unsurprisingly are Lisa Kleypas heroes. Secrets of a Summer Night's hero Simon Hunt is the og; he wants to make Annabelle his mistress and is fully like "tell me your price" and "you could do with a bit of spoiling", and backs it up by buying her really nice boots (the first pair of shoes in a long line of extravagant shoe purchases), and there's a very sugar daddy-esque scene where he buys her jewels and the second they're home, she all but pounces him to thank him. Marrying Winterborne's hero Rhys Winterborne has a similar energy where he thinks plying a gal with gifts is the best way to court her (and plying her with a piano or a greenhouse is the best way to get her to sleep with him which.... does work tbh), and Helen actually has to teach him to curb some of his more extravagant impulses.

Moving onto contemporary recs:

No Ordinary Love by Ann Christopher is similar to Marrying Winterborne in that the hero has only ever had transactional relationships before, so that's all he knows. So this man, Baptiste (he's French) hooks up with Samira ONCE and pays off 11k in credit card debt. She's understandably shocked and tries to make him take it back and as the story goes on, she teaches him that affection ≠ money.

So Sweet by Rebekah Weatherspoon: A classic modern sugar relationship; Kayla signs up for a sugar website but ends up hitting it off with the website owner/Internet billionaire Michael at a mixer and they begin a sugar relationship that morphs into something more pretty quickly. I also appreciate how it dealt with a pretty common misconception about the kind of person who has success attracting sugar daddies (skinny, white).

Skyscraper Cinderella series by K. Webster: Kind of a bonkers sugar relationship; Winston propositions Ash, the maid who's cleaning his office, and then financially incentivizes every sex act (and non-sexual acts) that Ash performs. There's a good amount of degradation involved. That being said, their relationship is actually really hot and pretty damn hysterical.

Highest Bidder by Sara Cate: Fairly run of the mill as far as sugar daddy/baby romances go, but it fits the bill; obscenely rich older man, financially unstable younger woman, he likes to be called daddy in bed, he takes her to Paris at some point.

The Master by Kresley Cole: So Cat is a substitute escort and it's supposed to be a one-night thing, except it isn't, and then he freaks out about her baby-trapping him and holds her as prisoner in his penthouse so she buys a lot of stuff on his card out of spite (or as she calls it "retaliatory consumerism"). That's the sugar aspect, but honestly the highlight is the prisoner bit.

Preferential Treatment by Heather Guerre: Mikhail offers Kate money to get her our of debt in exchange for domming him. There is also a huge financial domination component that takes a WILD turn when she has him donating money to Super PACs to (ironically) overturn Citizens United.
