Sand Sibs Headcanon
Temari excels at tessenjutsu (metal fan techniques)
She hides it inside her obi (belt)
There's a time when she has to put away her usual big fan as a sign of trust during diplomatic visit
But when there's a sudden attack during the meeting (or betrayal)..
They didn't know that she's NEVER unarmed.
Do you think WHY she always wear an obi?? To keep her tessen.
I'm certain she wear it when she's asleep. She wear it at home.. anywhere.. anytime.. even her wedding dress has obi with it.
Of course kimono will use obi. What I meant.. since I don't know what she wore in her wedding, and if she wore the modern dress instead of traditional one, I BET THERE MUST BE AN OBI WITH IT BECAUSE THAT'S HOW TEMARI WORKS
Kankuro can play "The Seven Roles"
Suna scores 2/5 on population, isn't it? So I think they don't just rely at combat approach, they also rely at disguises for infiltration.
It just happened that Kank is good at this thing
So at first, Kank's puppet disguised as him, but what if the roles swapped? Kank disguised as a puppet instead?
And then he expands it to another different roles, depending on the country
He always use his facepaint during the mission as a shinobi, so nobody knows what his real face actually look like
People there just like: Oh, this guy is just.. a guy. I don't really care anyway.
The reason he's barely doing that is either because: "Puppet is love, puppet is life" or the preparation is such a hassle + it really takes time, he needs his siblings' help to make it faster
But when you ask if he can do that? Yes, yes he can :)
Gaara understanding crabs..
(especially coconut crab like in the way some people refers them as terrifying, monstrous, etc.)
Observing their stoic appearance and behavior, studying them, understanding them, liking them, hyperfixates on them.
Then when he got back from the mission and seeing his cacti collection again, he'll be m.. nostalgic like oh it's been so long, remember when my past self obsessed with them? *proceeds to hyperfixates on cacti again*
I personally like the idea of gaar trying to be friends with the crab. Maybe also with slime molds. Or with any "expressionless" living being.
LIKE PLANTS!! Right!
Oh.. so that's why. That's makes sense actually.
The reason he can get along with plants instead of other kind of animals might be because of Shukaku's chakra. Like the way his chakra scared akamaru the dog. Animals can runaway, but cacti can't. I don't understand how his cacti felt around gaar, but I'm sure they're still alive because gaar taking care of them.
And I still have no idea how the animals would act around him after shukaku's extraction. I want him to be friends with the crabs so much

🇯🇵 Elliott's Japan Trivia Corner 🇯🇵
Fun fact: Japan is soon going to contain one (1) very excited Elliott, with an unreasonable amount of money to spend on souvenirs and niche af cultural visits!
I'm honestly not sure how much I'll be able to be online for the next two weeks (probably not very much); I'll still be available on Discord, and I might log into Tumblr every now and then to infodump about Shinto shrines.
I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA!!!! 😁

I think it's funny that all Cranky villagers act like they're ancient and decrepit even though some of them are clearly not old. Kabuki is a tired 80-year-old Japanese man but Bruce is just rolling into college in his early 20s and still hasn't entirely grown out of his high school tough guy persona. Only one of them should be complaining about creaky joints, you feel me

had a realization earlier. this big betrayal plotline is probably just manufactured drama on deep cut's part
consider that big man is their producer and lyricist, so he basically made his own disstrack. it wouldn't surprise me if marie set the whole scandal up as a publicity stunt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

🇯🇵Elliott's Japan Trivia Corner🇯🇵
is back baby!
On the topic of kabuki theater (see also: male actors in female roles, the result of a shogun's ill advised attempt at limiting prostitution)
There's this dude called Ichikawa Danjuro VII, whom I find absolutely ✨fantastic✨.
👑The guy was very popular, a trend-setter, highly admired among the people of Edo, and apparently the greatest actor of his century. He was also 💖BFFs💖 with the most popular ukio-e (woodblock prints) artist of the time, and was portrayed on hundreds of ukio-e (they were kinda like celebrity magazines or collectible cards at the time).
👘Ichikawa was well known (among other things) for his signature kimono, that he wore onstage. It was embroidered with sickles, circles, and the character ぬ (nu), which put together read "kawamanu" : "I don't give a shit".
He was eventually banished from Edo for... -drumroll- dressing too fancy.
(Edo-era Japan had strict castes, with specific dress codes enforced by sumptuary laws; which the lower classes found new creative ways to circumvent every time the shogun passed a new one 😎)
