Ah yes, the "doll" who had been given "life" fell in love with a different man... (If I am reading too much into Fakir and Ahiru's relationship to begin with it's going to make me look like even more of a fool)

"Ah, Ahiru, it looks like your prince has changed!" SO, I was thinking that it's the subs that could be used to interpret this as Ahiru's prince changing from Mythos to Fakir, and wanted to use my knowledge of the Japanese language to see if this was just me reading too deep into the subs. WELL. The verb "kaeru" means "to change" - it can also be used to mean "to come, to return", but that depends on the kanji being used and the context (so of course, in this case, we're using 'change'. And there's two different kanji used for 'kaeru' in the context of change - 変 is the most common, in the sense of "to alter, to transform, etc.". And 換 is used when change is in the sense of "to replace, to exchange, to substitute/swap", etc. I guess it would depend on if the Japanese subs used kanji to differentiate, but REALLY MAKES YOU THINK
