Fluffcember Day 18: Of Fircones and other Dangers

I absolutely forgot about putting up those next few Fluffcember One Shots. Sorry, had a busy few days.

Day 18 had the prompt The Smell of Pine.

Seto could not quite hide his disgruntledness. Even two days in their vacation he could not hide how much the idea disturbed him. It almost made Anzu laugh, really, because with all his wealth, all the things at his disposal, Seto Kaiba did not quite understand the concept of a vacation.

She took his hand and just pulled him along the forest path, that was beautifully glittering in the early afternoon sun. “Isn't it beautiful?” she asked, trying to start a conversation.

Seto gave a confused look, as he gazed into the conifer forest.

It was very pretty, really. Up here in Sweden the winters were long and cold and brought an amount of snow that they could only dream of in Domino City. It was a sunny day, though, so those little ice crystals in the thick cover of snow were glittering – at times even in multiple colors.

“I guess,” Seto finally admitted.

“Really, you should get out more,” she chided her husband. “It would give you new inspiration as well.”

“I do not need inspiration,” he muttered. He was pouting, this much was clear. Seto Kaiba tended to pout a lot, whenever she talked him into something. But if neither she nor Mokuba would talk him into things, he would not get out of his office at all. At times happiness had to simple be forced onto him.

The sound of the snow creaking underneath her winter boots was wonderful as well. She simply loved everything about the place. The view, the soundscape, the smells as well. It was a perfect way to spend the few days off she had gotten from the ballet.

Smirking she looked up at her husband. “There are certain kinds of inspiration you are not averse to,” she teased and got him to blush.

“That's… different.”

“How so?”

This got him to hesitate, stopping even in his stride. One thing that Anzu would not have believed if someone had told her just two years ago, was, that Seto Kaiba could be quite shy. Then again it should not be surprising. He was all big on presentation, on showing of his wealth and his skill at Duel Monsters, but he had never been particularly good when it came to interpersonal relationships. Mokuba being the one exception. It was not a big surprise, of course, given about what she now knew about his upbringing. It did mean, though, that at times she had to tease an honest response out of him.

“It's… with you,” he finally muttered.

“This is with me, too.”

He paused, then sighed, looking around, then looking at her. “Touché.” His breath condensed in front of his face and there was a flush on his ears that was quite unusual to see. Finally, he took her hand again and marched on. “I still don't get it, though.”

“What is there to get?”

“Do you find this… relaxing?”

“Yes,” she said.

He thought about this for a moment. “How so?”

It was a question she should've expected but didn't. “There are few people around,” she said. “There is no rustling and bustling. The view is really nice and so is the smell.”

“The smell?”

“The conifer trees,” she replied. “Don't you smell it?”

He sniffed and then nodded. “I guess I do.”

“It is a nice smell, isn't it?”

“It is not offensive.”

She smiled. “You see? And all in all… It is nice to get away from it all from time to time.”

Once more he paused, though he continued walking this time. “It is just… There is so much to do. In summer there will be…”

She pressed his hand. Of course, she knew what he was talking about. He was planning on another Battle City tournament – one that would hopefully not be upstaged by any more Egyptian weirdness. Just a normal tournament, that would bring loads of tourists to Domino City. There would be a carnival as well and all sorts of cultural events happening around the same time, giving people things to do if they were tired of watching duels.

Lately Seto had started to appreciate the arts a bit more. Together with Mokuba's help she had gotten him to just give those things a chance, instead of once again burying himself in more Duel Monsters or otherwise game related stuff. She had taken him along for movie nights, had taken him to the theatre and had – much to Ryuu's glee – gone to a rock concert with him as well.

Through all of it, Seto had mostly kept the same expression, but that was just the way things were. He was not very expressive. At least when it came to anything not Duel Monsters related.

Even right now she could feel him slowly relax, as he started to pay more attention to their surrounding instead of trying to tune everything out. She had decided for this place for a reason. It was away from tourist destinations, so there were not a lot of people around. It was just them – for three days at least, before she would've to return to New York.

After a while, he sighed. “I guess this is nice.”

She chuckled, pressing his hand once again. “I told you so.” Tucking at his hand she got him to bow down far enough that she could press a soft kiss onto his lips. “And tonight…” She did not get any further, as the next moment he twitched, turning around.

“Ouch.”

She frowned. She had heard something hitting the back of his head. Looking around the culprit was quickly found: A fir cone having fallen to the ground.

Rubbing the back of his head he looked at it. “The forest is attacking me.”

She hesitated, before laughing, as she realized that it was in fact a joke. “It is, apparently,” she admitted and bowed down to collect the cone. Once she got up, she handed it to him. “Maybe you should keep this.”

He raised one eyebrow. “Why would I?”

“As a reminder.”

“A reminder?”

“Of this vacation.”

“Ah.” His face relaxed visibly as he understood. And for a moment a soft smile showed on his face. He took the cone and put it in the pocket of his coat. “Yes, maybe I will keep it.”

Content: Yami Yugi/Atem x gn!Reader

Notes: I went with modern Atem this time around. If you want ancient Egyptian Atem, lemme know!

Atem is kinda shy when you both first start dating

Cut the man some slack, he hasn't dated in about 3,000-5,000 years (depending on the dub or sub)

He doesn't particularly like PDA, and doesn't see a need to announce your relationship to his friends. He thinks they should "just know."

Obviously they don't, so Tea still hits on him and you get angry about it. Atem never notices when Tea hits on him and only knows about it when you point it out

He's quick to tell his friends about your relationship then. Joey teasingly asks him to prove it, and he wastes no time kissing you on the lips despite not liking PDA

It takes him a couple months to start getting comfortable with the relationship, and slowly gets more comfortable with PDA

He'll only go so far as hand holding and putting his arm around you, but it is progress

Behind closed doors though, I'd like to think he's a little clingy. If you need to go in another room for something he won't follow, he'll just wait for you. But he'll always want to cuddle or be touching you in some way

He prefers kisses on the cheek instead of the lips

He'd take you on such cute dates. He'd get the ideas either from Yugi, Bakura or social media (Joey and Tristian aren't exactly cute, and he wouldn't ask Tea about this)

He'd take you on picnic dates, take you to local events, he'll win you prizes at Kaiba Corp and go on any rides you want to go on and end the day with a kiss on the ferris wheel.

When you cuddle, he likes being the big spoon. He'll rub your back, scratch your back, whatever you want

He loves watching Tik Tok or Instagram reels or Youtube with you on your phone while you spoon. He'll periodically give you cheek kisses

I feel like Atem would be the first one to say "I love you" and he says it after every goodbye, every goodnight, every good morning, and every hello

If you two are away from each other, he always starts the conversation with a "how are you? how was your day?" text

His first priority is you. He loves you and he wants to make sure you're okay

He's also pretty chill with anything. If you're sick and look terrible, he's still going to want to be intimate. When you ask why, he'll kiss your cheek and give you a poetic sentence about loving you at your worst. Makes you tear up

Atem is also really good at listening to you and comforting you when something is wrong. He wishes he could duel all your problems away :(

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

Oh geez, I love my Joey boy so much, honestly. One thing that I think is really great, and I know I've seen other people mention this before, is just how real he feels. His characters is so multifaceted and goes through so much development, and he just feels like such a real dude.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Just, everything? He has certified golden retriever energy with his deep love and loyalties, and it's one of the best things about him.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

I do get annoyed by some of his more obnoxious behavior, and sometimes he's downright embarrassing, but that comes with the territory of being a teenager.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I do think seeing Joey as a random bystander in a Marvel movie would be a good giggle.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Ship songs aside, the first song I could come up with was Hall of Fame by Gym Class Heroes. Boy knows what wants. Being at the top, right up there with Kaiba and Yugi, is his repeated goal throughout the series.

6. What's something you have in common with this character?

Brooklyn roots, going by the dub. My grandfather was born there, lived most of his life there. The other thing we have in common is being not on speaking terms with our mothers. 🥰

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

The fandom never lets us forget where Joey started: violent, street-tough bully trying to scrape a life together basically on his own. As much as I love cute happy Joey chilling with the scapegoats and his pals, it would be such a disservice to forget where he came from.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I actually can't think of anything? I think the fandom generally treats Joey well.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

That's actually a tough question. Depends on how good he is about cleaning up after himself. I think we could probably with something out though, a deal that involves trading chores for meals.

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

Probably, but I'd probably be at least half as naggy as Tea is with him. The "omg Joey use a napkin boi" kind of nagging, but I think he'd fit right in and we could tease and be goofy.

11. Would you date this character?

I'm married, so the safe answer is no lol

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Boy had to get good at taking care of himself, so he shops deals and coupons and plans his meals around those, even when he's more financially secure. It's an ingrained habit.

13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

90s punk/grunge he could so rock that

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Aw, I can only pick one? If I had to go based off of the Joey ships I've written, it would be Puppyshipping, but I think Puffshipping is crazy precious. And I can't shut up about Polarshipping anytime he and Mai are in a scene together, their chemistry is too good. So those are my top three. There's so many good Joey ships though!!!

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

I don't know that I have one? Not as far as popular ships go. I'm not big into Riskshipping, I can only see it as being unhealthy even with Mokuba aged up. (Irateshipping and Fadeshipping aren't necessarily healthy either, but they're very fascinating.)

17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?

So, on the DM shipping list is Babbleshipping, which is Joey x Kisara, which I just can't imagine working (and I've never seen any fanworks for it either), but I also find the idea of Joey swooping in as Mr. Steal Your Dragon Girlfriend from Kaiba kinda hilarious.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Joey's got a lot of great pals, but I think Tristan is just such a solid bro to him throughout the whole show (except for hitting on Serenity which is still so weird to me cause she's 12). But the advice he was giving him in Season Four regarding Mai was honestly solid advice: "give up on her, man, you're just going to get hurt if you keep going like this." It's just too sweet. Joey doesn't listen to him ofc because this boy never gives up.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

Obviously I wish he had a better relationship with his dad, but it's Yugioh: good dads aren't allowed.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

I think Duke is actually a godd logical, grounding, down to earth presence for Joey to be around. Duke is not afraid to call him on his crap, and I can just see then getting along pretty well, esp once Joey's matured just a little bit more.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

I appreciate when people write him with the accent, even if it's only slightly. It's just a fun detail imo. I appreciate the details people create to fill in his exact background as a fighter and how he lives and stuff. The attention to detail with the roots of who he is as a person.

23. Favorite picture of this character?

The first thing that popped into my mind is a fanart of his previous small smile, but I assume this is asking for canon images, so... Just look how happy and cool he is!!!!! And his Lord of Red appearance is just too heckin cool for me to not include.

24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

I think Ashe Duran from FE3H would be able to relate to him with their roots in poverty and both changing (Joey from a bully and Ashe from a thief) into becoming the best, most noble versions of themselves that they can be. They have the sweetest smiles and would do anything to protect their little siblings.

Rock from Nanbaka is a little similar I guess, but Rock comes from money and has a much more refined palette when it comes to food. Rock was still a gang member though, just like Joey, and they both think with their stomachs and are still brawlers. Also literally delinquents.

If I had to compare him to someone in UtaPri, I'd say he's got the same mischief vibes as Reiji, but the better match is the happy sunshine child Otoya Ittoki who's been through a lot and had a rough childhood but won't let it get him down. The future is full of opportunity for these boys.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

Oh geez, let me think back to twelve year old me... I really can't recall. I remember one of my first impressions in fandom was rejecting puppyshipping, partly just because it was popular, and then the more I learned about the characters separately, the more it compelled me, but that's another story.

My impression of him now? I love this man, he is a beacon of love and loyalty and getting better, which is a good example that all of us need sometimes honestly.

26. FREEBIE QUESTION!!

GUYS I KNOW SEASON FOUR HAD ISSUES BUT IT DID GOOD STUFF FOR JOEY. IT GAVE US HERMOS. IT GAVE US ATLANTIS JOEY. JOEY IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS YUGI AND KAIBA IN A METAPHYSICAL SENSE. HE'S JUST AS MUCH OF A HERO THAT SAVED THE WORLD. HE'S NOT "JUST JOEY." HE IS JOEY FUCKING WHEELER, AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT.

Seriously though, imagine how validated that made Joey feel? Surrounded by shadow magic and "chosen ones" and all this talk of reincarnation and destiny, and he thinks he's just along for the ride until wham! No bitch, you're special too! That's gotta warm his heart and make him smile, even after bad days working shitty jobs, or getting second place at a tournament. He's a legendary knight, his soul is tied to the Spirit World just as strongly as Yugi and Kaiba. He'll never lose his confidence ever again as long as he remembers that.

Also, I love the idea of him having all daughters. He's going to spoil them and be so crazy protective of them. He will never let them think they're anything less than gorgeous. He will sit down to tea parties with the frilly princessy one and give fighting tips to the butch one and adore all of them and very publicly threaten their partners with bodily harm if you ever dare hurt his girls. Dad Joey makes me happy. ❤️

Sexuality Headcanon: I actually greatly go against the fandom on this one in that I actually think he's mostly straight. Like a 1-2 on the Kinsey scale. About the only mxm ship I've considered is for Bakura x Yugi, and that's less about sexuality and more that only Yugi can really understand what he's gone through.

Gender Headcanon: Again, cis.

A ship I have with said character: HOSTSHIPPING!!!!! Check out Broadway is Dark Tonight, which will someday be updated again!!! It's been a really hectic....nine months for both Ink and myself.

I could also totally see Bakura x Isis/Ishizu. I actually came to the conclusion the other night those two would be perfect in the EOSWOM verse.

A BROTP I have with said character: Again, Bakura and Kaiba, I know it in my soul.

A NOTP I have with said character: So, to me, a NOTP has to give me a gut squick reaction. I wouldn't say I have one of those like I do with Kaiba, but yeah, the more popular ships for him aren't my cup of tea. I am neutral-positive on puffshipping, though.

A random headcanon: The "dead family" thing was such a hamfisted retcon I completely ignore it. I have a very solid family backstory in my head, and honestly, it's gospel. Japanese Dad meets English Mom studying antiquities/archaeology in Oxford, but while Mom is a Good Museum Scientist, Dad gets into selling antiquities for private collectors in a bid to make money for the family, and slowly gets into more black-market choices. Leads to divorce, Ryou goes with dad, Amane stays with mom, which is pretty common in Japanese families. You get a lot of this in "Broadway is Dark Tonight," actually.

Oh gawd, talking about bad retcons, what they did to Bakura's dad in DSOD (honestly, a lot of bad retconning on top of retconning in DSOD). I go with that one tiny glimpse we get of him in DM.

General Opinion over said character: Deserves so much more attention and so much less whumping. Please stop making him a sopping wet kitten, he's so much more interesting than that. I'm a firm believer that the Yamis reflect their hosts a la Persona, and boy do I miss the more active, witty Bakura we see in Duelist Kingdom.

Truthfully, Keith didn't know a damn thing about CapMon. Some kinda chess game but with monsters- not exactly his cup of tea, when it came to that game of war he preferred to the original- but the shiny allure of "Limited Edition" anything was too hard to ignore. Keep it mint condition, bring it home, there was bound to be a collector or few willing to pay a pretty penny for it, and that was worth the wait in line with annoying college kids and also just regular kids- damn, he was really out of his demographic here, huh?

As he made his way to the box, his box, the final one, his reward for tolerating screaming children for what seemed like eternity, there was one of those brats looking to swipe it out from under him. No time to teach good manners, and with his bulk, just stepping closer with a little force to it was enough to knock the little punk away so Keith could swipe it first.

He looked back at the indignant kid shouting at him now, and quickly recognized the second-best Kaiba brother- a little less zombified than he last saw of him back in Duelist Kingdom (hey, that made one of them), and back to what Keith could only assume was his usual spoiled brat self. Well, if he wasn't gonna give the box away before, he definitely wasn't gonna give it back now.

With great exaggeration, he turned the box over in his hands, closely examining every face, edge, and corner.

"Your box?" He asked, with mock incredibility. "Funny. I don't see your name anywhere."

Blue Eyes White Serpent ((Naga!Kaiba X Reader))

((Heyo, peeps and peepettes! Princess Tina here to present y'all a very special fanfic I may have wrote something short or not ((😅)), but still a great treat for all the Kaiba fangirls out there. 😊 So, I had an idea in my head for a late Year Of The Dragon event where the multibillionaire genius CEO becomes a tyrannical half hybrid draconic naga known as the Blue Eyes White Serpent, the most powerful specimen as well as deadliest predator in the forest. Now then, hope ya enjoy the story 😄))

Upon this tranquil paradisic environment of a polluted free scenery that is the emerald wilderness underneath the purified orb of morning light like a sunshine pouring its gentle glistening brightness onto the cleansing meadows teeming with harmless naturistic creatures both enormous as well as miniature combined in once, you, a beautiful ordinary young woman who lived alone into the residential abode protectively surrounded by fences other than only several lonesome vegetative trees, are lounging quietly onto the comfort sofa within a decent living room with your legs firmly crossed instead of spreading them wide for an unreasonable purpose whatsoever.

He demands no wretched equal, disgusting friendship or measly tag alongs. Most importantly of all, nothing in this circle shaped ball decorated of sea as well as ground will ever measure upward to the glorified predatory emperor of power. For every single goal shall always descend into his claws, never forgetting about taking anything he desires by force.

This time, an unknown noise have chosen a better victim, one who poses as a helpless little damsel foolishly lost her way inside the center of a jungle.

"Hmm.... What do we have here.....? A defenceless little bitch with no proper sense of direction whatsoever? How utterly curious...." The darkly voice mutter inaudibly, spying on you without notice as it soaks its lips by the long tongue slowly rotating.

Lastly, without any additional volunteers present, including other differential females to appear as well as come up here to bravely obtain the rap, that defenseless young damsel....is you. Having no plentiful time to ponder about retaliation nor attempting to seek for a safe spot to hide, you decided to run away from the unstoppable threat immediately deserting behind a bucket of cool water afar of the bayou earlier without looking back.

A shocking gasp flows right out of your mouth due to an easy apprehension, your body has been sealed by a beastly grasp of a coil as you inaugurately tried to struggle yourself free out of this predicament. Afterwards, a devious chuckle is now magnifyingly heard towards you, belonging to none other than the legendary tyrannical dragon naga himself.

"Well well.... Look what I have caught in my tail.... A naughty little treassser who ignorantly filched something that doesn't belong to her... Just my luck..." Spoke the cockingly handsome brunette, slowly revealing his extraordinary self with a carving smirk on his boned face while restraining your every move to scram safely.

Gulping in infinite silence with a side of an undoubtable petrified look into your eyes as you first witnessed your merciless captor in the flesh, Kaiba can actually sense your unfleeing fear too clearly. Slithering toward your helplessness then extending his hand to cup your soft cheeks, he coyly tsks.

"Foolish little tramp... Haven't your idiot parents ever told you not to steal someone's important possessions without consent? For example, my luxurious bathing pond?"

Now that you really thought about it, since the early day where you went onward at a pond to grab some water before this incident had occurred, you have infiltrated his most restricted but also secretly rare kingdom, it all come back to your senses.

Your pupils redirected from the ground to his, bowing your head an apologetic matter for infiltrating his formal property. Although that the all mighty remorseless half snake such as him would always turn down as well as refuse to accept anyone's blabbering apologies for wasting his flawless time, which he never does, he had some occasional ideas on what to do with you instead.

"Fine then. I'll accept your little apology for now. But on one condition..."

Your head once again starts to nod as you would listen to him very closely, doing your best to not get on his nerves, waste his competent time, or piss him off quickly.

Thirdly, you had no choice but to offer him a covenant nod of your head complying to his utter whim without resistance. His smirk grew slightly wider at your response.

"Good. At least you learn your lesson by now, little bird. Never invade my personal territory again or I will have the pleasure of devouring your slutty body whole myself. So you had better remember that and do as I command. That's your first order from now on." He demanded coolly, having you to reply at his command simultaneously.

"Mmm... That's better. You're beginning to behave yourself like a good little tweetling for once. Grinned Kaiba, still holding your damageless face in one hand yanking it closer to his.

"As of right now, you will address me as "superior master". Meaning that I alone will dominate everything in my path by force. That includes you too, birdie~ Just so long as you don't disappoint me any further like the repulsive lot~, that is...."

Casting aside a now forgetful misunderstanding accident to the breeze, Kaiba initiated his seductive personality into complete secrecy just for you, reaching his face over to yours before impaling your lips deeply with his. Traditionally, presenting a slightly painful nibble unto your soft thin neck first. A whimpering moan hurls afar of your lovely maw as he then bit into it. Symbolizing you as his personal irreplaceable slave for eternity.

Lastly, the moment of truth now arises from its slumber as the draconical genius directs his attention from the bitten neckcollar, aiming it toward as well as laying dual clawed hands on your heavenly puff cheeks to gladly consider your apology with acceptance of a kiss.

"And as for your apology, I will declare this....acceptable. In other words, you'll forevermore belong to me, my troublesome little bird~...."

His cold thin line lips has been granted an honor to jammed them into your sweet warm ones so deeply and with enough white energy inside his hybrid anatomy, extra hungrily to only absorb an ever living breath thoroughly from your lungs. Let´s talk about Silentshipping

Silentshipping is a shipping from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Fandom and describes the pair Seto Kaiba x Serenity Wheeler/Shizuka Kawaii. It is one of my favorite shippings, then and now. So I was rely pissed when I went looking for stuff about the couple and found People hateing around. ~*~

Serenity is too weak and too stupid to duel: Yes. Tea and Mai make a much stronger impression and are better equipped to duel. But if you look closely at the scenes, you can clearly see that Serenity is still a beginner. Insinuating that she's too stupid to duel when she's just learning the game... And yes. She's not particularly strong. But does she have to be that way to get together with Kaiba? And does she have to be good at dueling to have a relationship with Kaiba? However, she saved her brother from drowning and ultimately won the three-way duel against Nezbitt. So she's not just weak. Seto and Serenity only have one interaction in the anime and none in the manga: Yes. They only had one interaction together, where they actually talked to each other. But I prioritize quality over quantity. if we set this convo in contrast with the most popular shipping in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Fandom, Puppyshipping Seto x Joey, they acted respectfully to each other. He didn't devalue her, wasn't annoyed by her, nor did he react to her negatively in any way. Seto and Serenity fulfill the cliché of a sweet innocent girl that melts the cold bad boy's heart aka SasuHina vibes: I think it's funny. That most people celebrate ships like Seto X Joey, which for me is the most toxic ship ever, and badmouth Seto x Serenity, because it´s to clicheé. lol Do you know which yaoi ships are always the most popular in every fandom? The hot-blooded, temperamental, goofy guy with the cold-blooded, calculating, emotionally dead guy. Basically, half of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Fandom ships the biggest cliché of all. But there is a heteroshipping that is at least as SasuHina-cliche and is also one of the most popular ships with Seto. Bluesshipping Seto x Kisara. Kisara is just as weak as Serenity, but just like her, she has her strong moments. She's just as shy, reserved and sweet as Serenity and fulfills the chichee spirit just as much. Kisara shows that a relationship between Seto and Serenity can definitely work. ~*~ Serenity is pink and sweet, which very few people like. And I won't deny that their relationship fulfills that good girl x bad boy chlichee. You can like it or not. But the ship is not alone on this track. For a beginner, Serenity did well and she may be weak, but she definitely showed strength as well. It may have been just one interaction, but it didn't have a negative impact on their relationship. It looked more like Kaiba had only called the medical team, because of Serenity's request. Which has a positive effect on their relationship. In any case, I don't understand the hate that this shipping has, because for me there are much worse pairings.

The Start Of Something New 2

EDITED- It's finally here, the day you interview Seto. Fighting how he makes you feel, you try your best not to embarrass yourself.

Pairing Seto Kaiba X Reader--------- Timeline is after Duelist Kingdom and Before Battle City.

You had already tried on at least five outfits or that's what you told yourself while you ignored the growing pile on the bed. Pairing a black cami with high-waisted jeans, you looked over your body, making sure you approved before leaving for KaibaCorp. Making sure to mask any sign of circles under your eyes, after staying up late researching and listing questions. Your heart was racing the whole way there, once you arrived you could have sworn you felt it stop. Deep breath, deep breath. He's just a guy, a really good-looking guy…. While waiting you noticed two businessmen, they were standing close by. They were talking about a project, KaibaLand, quickly making a note of the name, you continued to listen in. “Didn’t you know? Mr Kaiba is putting everything into this KaibaLand.” He grumbled. “Can you imagine? A theme park about all things Duel monsters?” His voice was laced with sarcasm. Odd… Doesn’t sound like they're on board. “Eh, doesn’t matter what we think.” The receptionist called your name, brushing off the comments that were overheard, you quickly made your way into his office, finding him once again sitting behind the large desk. “Morning” He didn’t seem amused, in fact, he looked like he was in need of a Redbull or something. “Do you intend to waste my time with useless formalities?”

Jerk. Maybe something stronger than a Redbull is needed.

“Thought I was being polite but if you rather we skip that then fine.” You shrugged, taking the empty seat he had prepared for you. You watched as his smirk grew, clearly, something managed to amuse him. “Mm, look at that. At least you aren’t completely useless… Now you’re getting it.”

Smug arsehole.

You placed a recording device on his desk, turning it on “Mind if I record? It’s easier for writing this up later.” He nodded “So, you became CEO at a young age, how did you prepare for it?” The interview went as smoothly as you had expected, it was nearing the end when you looked down at your list of questions

"Are you sing-... I'm so sorry, ignore that." Failing to hide the spreading blush that was consuming your face, you didn't look up until you heard him laugh.

I'm going to murder Tea.

Seeing how flustered you got amused him "I am."

Looking back down you saw the quick scribble from the earlier conversion. “What’s KaibaLand?” Your question caught him off guard, his eyes darted to the recording device, narrowing into a frown. Knowing you had struck a cord, leaning forward and turning it off “It doesn’t have to be on the record…” The silence seemed to last far longer than it had.

He finally spoke. “How did you even know that name?” Feeling suddenly flustered you tried remaining cool “I overheard it in the lobby” he continued to stare you down “While I was waiting.” You admitted truthfully, passing the recorder over to him, he looked taken aback “Here, check it yourself.” He held onto it, not giving any of his emotions away. He turned the device off “Hmm… It’s still in the early stages.” You nodded in understanding “Well, I’m sure with you behind it, it will be amazing.” He seemed happy with that, you started to pack away your things but you could feel his eyes were still on you. “Thank you.” You caught him off guard, summarising it’s not something he hears too often. Seto looked away, avoiding your gaze “Pfft, It was in exchange for the duel.” You smiled “Still, I appreciate it.” He quickly made his way, standing in front of you, he held out your recorder and feeling the warmth from his fingers you could feel a light blush spreading over you. “I, umm, I enjoyed today…”

Stupid! Just go live under a rock.

“Only because you don’t work for me, take my word for it.” He chuckled. You smirked “Bet I could take whatever you threw at me.” He seemed amused by your confidence “Eh, now that would be interesting.”

Uhm, hello! I’m here to ask a request! (For yami yugi from YUGIOH! ^^)

Can you do a yami yugi / atem x reader when the reader is a powerful witch in a long line of famous witches, then marik and bakura (non-yami) set him up on a date with us at the fall festival?

Here’s what I kinda want to go down.

We, the reader. Are a powerful witch from (insert country here. Your choice really.) which means that anyone who pisses us off is relatively dead. Depends what our mood was before.

However, despite almost everyone except our friends fearing us. Yami / Atem is basically simping for us for everything about us. From our style, to our magic, to our family history. (Yugi is too, but I’ll save that for another request.)

So, marik and bakura get an idea. They decide to set the two of us up on a date at the fall festival, not knowing that we, the reader, were performing that night.

Once we perform though, everyone is dancing and we even dance with atem while we perform! :D and so far everything was a good night!

Tw: blood and gore-

That is, until the festival is shut down. A dead body was found near the site. The cause of death was seemingly a very personal homocide. Because her body was MUTILATED, I’m talking about organs cut out and everything. (if desired! :D) and turns out it was the same girl who tried to ruin our life: manipulated all our ex friends/lovers, was being narcissistic and ableist to others, and even tried to get with yami/atem when he was spiked at a party.

We ended up drinking lavender honey tea on the balcony when yami/atem ends up confessing his love to us while he was under the influence of rose scented incense and the lavender honey tea. And the kiss was helluva romantic!

Eventually, the group connects the dots. And yami bakiura gains a new respect for us, while yami/atem is like:

“Well, looks like I’m yours now.”

And we’re like: “yes you are, my dear! ^^”

(Again, that last bit is what I desire, but if you don’t want to do that, that’s fine. And the murder ‘victim’ can be any gender. I’m sorry if it’s too long!)

"Autumn Festival" (Yami x Witch Female Reader)

Warning: Mature Content due to the blood and violent content. Reader is "chaotic neutral": abandons rules and pursues their own desires, freedom first (A.K.A. antihero, vigilante morals), so there is mentions of death, mutilation, and murder.

Tonight on the night of October twenty-third an autumn festival is set at the city of Domino in the park. Such an evet is to last until the night of Halloween. Tons of visitors and tourists arrived due to the dueling events curtesy of Kaiba corp and the creator of duel monsters himself. The guests who were most interested are some famous duelists and their friends. Many of them been finalists in various tournaments popular in the dueling community. The most famous of them being Yugi Muto the king of games.

The "king" himself unbeknownst to most, he wasn't hosting his body tonight. His other self, Yami is taking over for a special occasion. His beloved crush was set up on a date with him. A big favor from his friends Yami would never forget. He had been pining for the witch for months on end. Though many fear her aside from her friends, Yami was the one to fall deeply in love with her. He saw more to her than her scary atmosphere or intimidating aura. She was a witch with style, powerful magic, and a mysterious background that caught his attention.

Yami and her closest friends knew of her history. She is a powerful witch in a long line of famous historical witches. From a country she herself didn't want to reveal furthering her mysterious background. Though she did disclose the ancestry in her bloodline for her friends when asked.

Yami did everything and anything to catch her attention but it proved to be difficult since he himself still hadn't much experience in relationships. His dear friends Marik Ishtar and Ryou Bakura helped him by setting him up on a date with her to the festival. Tonight is finally the night he could truly display his feelings and try impressing her. He wore a casual but nice gothic attire and brought her a bouquet of black and purple roses. Some of her favored colors seeing as she incorporated them into her wardrobe many times.

At the fall festival you were excited for tonight. Vengeance and a wonderful date you looked forward to. Your vengeance wasn't directed towards your date, no. You adored Yami and admired his dorky kindness. Though you didn't know he was only like this around you. It was as plain as day he admired you what with the compliments and endless acts of service for you. He did about anything for you. You couldn't say many did so for you. Almost everyone seems to be afraid of you, as they should be if they get on your bad side.

Such as your ex friend/lover who got on your bad side. Their actions simply couldn't go without consequence. They hadn't any idea they messed with the wrong witch. You hold power unimaginable to humans. Which means anyone who pisses you off is relatively dead. Depends on your mood and how the perpetrator affected you.

The ex in question had done much to earn your vendetta against them. They tried to ruin our life: manipulated all your ex friends/lovers, was being narcissistic and ablest to others, and even tried to get with Yami when he was spiked at a party. The last straw being they tried to take Yami from you. You're very fond of him and your friends were nice enough to set you both up on a date to the Autumn festival. The date was set up way before the time the your ex tried taking Yami from you. They knew you had feelings for Yami from how you both interacted at the Halloween party together. He looked so dashing dressed as a vampire. Nearly had your wicked heart melting at the sight.

You knew the disgusting creature would be at the Autumn festival from their constant bragging about being a participant in the Autumn festivals show. There would be a stage set of musicians and various performances for the show. If there was one thing you were good at it was getting under their skin by being better than them in all the ways they care about. You needn't get your hands dirty when you can do to them what they did you to. Piss you off. From asking out their crush the baseball star of the school to the Sadie Hawkins dance, getting the same exact outfit for prom as them but wearing it better, purchasing yourself the designer bag they oh so wanted, and even challenging them to a duel then defeating them in front of Yami. Yes, you would ignore your horrid ex and do what you could to make yourself happy without using your powers on them. Tonight was different, after years of dealing with their nonsense enough was enough. They tried spreading lies and drama in the friend group you had in Yugi and the others. You're thankful none of them believed the malicious lies.

Before your performance you would take care of your ex but for now you must go on your date with Yami. He was waiting for you by the caramel apple stand. He is excited seeing you from the expression across his face. His red eyes light up and he is smiling warmly. You'd never tire of his smile.

"Good evening. You look nice." He greets you.

"Thanks, Yami. You do too."

He offers you his arm and takes you to the pumpkin patch to chat with you while you both look at jack-o-lanterns together. He didn't participate in duels since he was with you but you did notice Joey and Marik participate. Duke and Bakura participated in a couple duels with their friends too. Tristan and Tea watched nearby as always.

"Perhaps you would enjoy carnival games?" Yami offered as you two passed the duels at the far end of the park.

"I think it's a good idea. Afterwards it should be time for my performance."

"A performance?" He smiled at the reveal.

"Yes I'll be singing. You will be at the front row, won't you?"

"Yes anything for you dear."

He knows how to make your heart melt. You adore his little pet names for you. He grabs your hand as you two head over to the carnival games. He asks a bit more about your performance but you mention its a surprise. As you hold his hand you look over to the bouquet in your other hand. He's so thoughtful buying you flowers. Even though you're a witch he treats you no different. He cares for you and displays acts of love for you in so many ways. It's no wonder you grew to admire him in return. He see's you for who you are.

Yami went on to win all the difficult, possibly rigged carnival games. He enjoyed all the games from the look of it. You couldn't help giggling at his excitement. Afterwards he walked you to the stage where he gave you a good luck kiss to the back of your hand. You couldn't help the smirk on your face when your ex saw the display. There would be a half hour necessity for all participants to get ready. You would use this time to get ready.

You entered the make shift dressing room in the tent behind the large stage. You would use this time to tell your ex what your performance is. They huffed in annoyance as you told them then practiced your singing. Something you knew they couldn't do. You smiled to yourself before inviting them to follow you deeper into the park surrounded by tree's where no one was in sight to see your powers on display..

Your performance was to begin after a couple groups were finished with their show. When it was your time to shine you held onto a decorated mic wearing a beautifully dark dress, curtesy of your magic. You smile to the crowd with a pleased expression. You blew a kiss to Yami who blushed at the gesture but gave you a handsome smile in return. Your first song you would sing is titled, under a violet moon. The crowd starts singing along with you and you gesture Yami to get on stage with you. He eventually does and you have him dance with you as you're singing.

The next song titled, "Lorely" would be the second to the last song. You would look forward to the final song. As you danced with Yami you noticed others dancing. Before you started singing again you noticed the gang in the crowd. They were all dancing except Yugi who gave you a bashful but supportive smile. They others looked to be drinking cider or hot cocoa. You smile back at him before returning to your performance.

You bowed to the crowd along with Yami at your side. Roses were thrown on the stage for you to gather and collect to remember this night. Though it wouldn't be the only reason it would be so memorable for you. Applause and praise was sent your way. Backstage Yami and the others rewarded you with compliments. It would be decided all of you head to the mini haunted maze the autumn festival offered.

The plans didn't fall through due to an immediate evacuation. Police kicked out all visitors and plenty of cop cars surrounded the entire park. Caution tape, detectives, and plenty of others in law enforcement arrived to the scene. You and the others were on the sidewalk of the city's streets not too far from the park. Word spread like wildfire of the dead body of a girl. Your friends hadn't any idea until they called over to Kaiba who answered their questions seeing as he had the info from being a sponsor.

Everyone was shocked of the terrible news. The worst reaction being towards the death of the girl. Her body was found mutilated with her organs spread everywhere at the scene. She was found by a group of young adults who immediately called the authorities. One huge clue to the death was it being clear it was a murder. Kaiba looked to the ground unsure of how to feel, his blue eyes reveal sorrow for the family even if he didn't care for the girl. When asked who died he gave the group a name before excusing himself to find Mokuba who is currently surrounded by body guards.

Only a handful of the group recognized her name since all of you went to school with her. You said nothing as the others discussed it. Atem held your hand protectively also staying quiet. He didn't have the words. The others agree to continue the night at someone's home. Yugi offered since his home is always welcomed to others.

You sit by the balcony to the Muto home looking out the window. You drink lavender honey tea while the others are downstairs dueling. Yami soon found he didn't see you among his group of friends so he went looking for you. His eyes soften when he see's you again, admiring the outfit you wear. You never looked more beautiful as you sat under the moonlight. Your lips looked so kissable. The thought alone causing his heart to beat rapidly.

Yami decides its now or never to finally confess to you. He's waited long enough. He's spent years loving you from afar and now he's finding he can no longer wait a second more. He does hope you return his feelings. The date was fun despite why it had to be canceled by the end of the night. He walks over to you grabbing a hold of your hand laying on your lap.

"Yami?"

He smiled your direction with loving eyes. He felt himself blushing anticipating your reaction but he let his heart guide him. You must know how he feels about you.

"My dear I've loved you for so long now. I couldn't wait a second more so here I am. You're ever so beautiful and your friendship is what I deeply cherish but in doing so I realize I want more than friendship from you. I adore you with all my heart."

As he spoke he made a step closer to you so he could look you in the eyes as he confessed his love to you. You felt your heart race at his gentle words and touch to your hand. It was all so comforting and loving.

"I love you too Yami." You squeeze his hand.

Unbeknownst to Yami he was under the influence of rose scented incense and the lavender honey tea you're drinking. He felt a bit hazy in the head but it didn't matter to him since he's too busy admiring you. The moment you returned his love he immediately kissed you. Pulling you in his grasp in a passionate kiss. His lips tasted of caramel and apple cider, no doubt his treats from the autumn festival. It was almost as his lips melted against yours. To Yami your kiss was relaxing and gentle a contrast to his kiss. You tasted of honey and lavender. He didn't want the kiss to end and neither did you.

You two stop the kiss to look at each other. Soon you both over hear the gang down stairs. They bring up what happened back at the festival to figure how who was possibly behind the murder. Brainstorming begins and Yugi is first to make the biggest question leading to the killer.

"They would need to have some sort of vendetta against the girl. She would've done a really awful deed in order to receive such a death. Judging by her death its possible she was beaten or some sort of weapon was used."

"Yami Bakura is also suspecting magic." Ryou says.

"Magic..?" Joeys eyes widen.

"Revenge.. An awful deed to receive such a death." Tea said.

The others think to you since your ex was always horrible to you since day one. She did everything in her power to make your life miserable. Big or small she would try ruining your life. They knew of her lies and two faced persona. Of course you never held back against an opponent after your friends lives either. You only used your magic on those deserving of it. Your friends knew your ex was after you constantly so they understood you've had enough. They all stayed silent with surprised expressions.

"It seems your friend is more of a witch than I thought. She's earned my respect and if you ask me good riddance." Yami Bakura spoke from the millennium ring for all to hear.

Yami too connected the dots and had the same thoughts as your friends. You weren't entirely sure how everyone took it but you have no regrets. Even smirking at Yami Bakura's comment. You look to Yami who is still holding you in his arms. You knew he wouldn't care either seeing as he's always taken care of his opponents in the past.

“It appears I’m yours now.” Is all Yami could say to you.

“Yes you are, my dear!" You smiled nervously at being caught so quickly. You should've known they'd figure it out but all is well that ends well for you this dark cloudy autumn night.

I got inspired by a certain season to request this. Can I request headcanons of Yugi, Yami and Kaiba reacting to their S/O joining an evil organization and challenging them to a duel please? (Whether it's their own volition or their being brainwash, is up to you~)

I love battle city so I went with Marik controlling them for this! Lets go boys and ghouls hehehehehe

Notes: Sorry this took so long! I couldn't decide what to do for Yugi's part for a very long time!

❥Yugi

He pushed the pharaoh away from this duel. He wanted to save you, just as he saved Joey.

He may even tune out his friends to save you, or split off from them completely. He loves his friends, but he loves you more.

He demands Marik release you, and when he doesn't, he goes through with the duel.

He wins, expectedly, and when he sees a saw heading straight for your neck he wails out in terror.

"Y/N! NO!" He rushes forward and tugs you onto the floor just before the saw rips past.

In your confusion, you blink open your eyes and look up at Yugi. "Yu...Yugi...?"

"I'm here, I'm here. You're safe now." His tears streamed down his face as he slowly lifted you up.

He put a hand on your cheek and went in for a long kiss. The cries of his friends interruped him, making both of you turn and look at Joey, Tristan and Tea. Joey spoke first. "Y/n! Yugi! You okay?!"

"We're fine!" Yugi yelled from across the arena, then turned back to you. "I'll make sure nothing like that happens to you again."

"What...even happened?" You asked.

"I'll explain when we leave. I'm just so happy you're safe." He wiped his own tears away, then took you by the hand and led you out of there.

❥Yami Yugi

You mean so much to him, so much that he didn't allow Yugi to take over for this duel. He would rescue you himself, and then tear Marik apart.

Yami cursed Marik as he took over your every move and forced you to duel in a death trap.

He knew he had to beat you in order to have Marik relinquish control over you. As soon as he summoned Dark Magician, the duel was over.

The trap Marik had you in forced you under water, but in a tank. Not open water like Joey's.

Yami dove into the tank after you plunged. Marik released control of your mind, making you try to gasp for breath. In your confusion, you swallowed a lot of water.

Yami swam as fast as he could to you, hooked his hands under your arms and began trying to pull you up. His own strength could only take him so far, but before he knew it, Joey and Tristan had jumped in to help. Together, the three men pulled you out of the tank.

You coughed up some water after being turned on your side so you wouldn't choke. Yami held you close as you did, shaking and holding in tears.

"I thought I lost you forever..." He whispered.

"I'm here, I'm here..." You spoke reassuringly to both Yami and yourself.

"And you're not going anywhere without me." Yami tightened his hold just a little bit.

❥Seto Kaiba

He hates this. This is just like Mokuba being kidnapped, but you're right there.

You're right there but he can't reach you.

He doesn't know whether to beat you or let you win so you can be spared. It brings him back to his own antics towards Yugi during Duelist Kingdom.

Except you're not doing this of your own volition, he knows you aren't. He doesn't normally believe in supernatural things, but this is different.

He decides to beat you. While the duel goes on, he has a plan in his mind to free you from the trap as well as himself.

When he beats you, Marik laughs in your mind as he lets go of your mind control, thinking you're about to die. Seto however, springs into action, freeing you from getting a limb chopped off.

You have no idea what's going on, and honestly you feel really dizzy and your vision is blurry. Seto holds you close, calming down slowly knowing you're alive in his arms.

"S...Seto?" You asked, looking up at him.

Your vision was slowly coming back to you, and you recognized his white jacket. He didn't say anything for a moment, just continued to hold you. Then he spoke.

"It's okay, I have you now. Let's get out of here." Seto stands with you in his arms, leaving the building.

"What...happened?"

Seto begins to tell you the events leading up to the duel, how Marik had somehow possessed you and forced you to duel to the death with him, but he had managed to free both you and him. He then informed you that you were not to leave his side for the rest of his tournament.
