I get what you mean about having no thoughts about characters and just wanting them to kiss. I have a lot of ships that I have that are more about "I just think it'd be neat if they kissed" it's fun!

i think sometimes you just gotta recognise when your brain is at maximum occupancy and there is simply no more room for more complicated relationship dynamics that revolve in your head for hours. sometimes it is enough to just want two characters to kiss

it's so wild how nier's opening monologue defines him for the rest of the game. "I have a feeling we'll be alright. We have to be. There's no other choice."

There is no other choice. That attitude is why he so desperately clings to saving yonah, be it from disease or the shadowlord. if they don't turn out okay, what then? they'll just die? It's not something he can accept. Moving on, living without her, isn't something he can allow himself to even conceptualize.

The opening already gives us a crystal clear snapshot of who nier is. Even when he's starving and freezing and his only weapon is an iron pipe, he'll do anything to protect yonah.

They'll be alright. They have to be. There's no other choice.

the way nier and kaine deal with losing emil is honestly everything to me… absolutely no words spoken nier just breaks down crying and then kaine beats the shit out of him because she doesn’t know how else to deal with her emotions. and nier doesn’t even fight back or get mad at her he’s just like yeah i get it. and then she’s like let’s go and then they move on. incredible
