Kalanchoe marnieriana

Kalanchoe is a large genus in the Crassulaceae (the Stonecrop Family), with many species found in Madagascar. This one is Kalanchoe marnieriana, from northeastern Madagascar. It looks a lot like its relative Kalanchow fedtschenkoi, but that species has more purple-tinged leaves with scalloped edges. Both have beautiful tubular flowers in pastel shades.

A cultivar of the slow growing succulent Kalanchoe beharensis ‘Fang’ (stalactite plant, elephant’s ears kalanchoe, velvet leaf, felt bush) has velvety silver leaves where the margins and underside are covered in small tubercles, or ‘fangs’.

I recently posted photos of this Kalanchoe from northeastern Madagascar, but it is having its most splendid flowering ever, so I am following up with a photo to show just how glorious it is. Kalanchoe is a genus in the Stonecrop Family, Crassulaceae.

honestly im not even going to start listing any. cos then I'll be there doing them all night lol. if anyone wants to know any specific one i can tell you but yeah im not going to list or tag these past the general family.

but! this is the majority of my bedroom plants. :) variety of sedum, echeveria, crassula, aloe, kalanchoe, a couple of pachyphytum, curio and mesembs

(someone knocked over my echeveria black knight last night and nobody told me and that really really upset me earlier too. lmao. he was fully rooted in his pot and when i found him there was gravel every where and it was almost falling out of the pot. the remaining flower stalk, currently blooming, was damaged also. but i hit the image limit)

The cacti and succulent window display at Stamford Botanics, Lincolnshire, UK, included Kalanchoe humilis 'Desert Surprise' (flaming Katy). This tender succulent is easy to grow developing large light green paddle shaped leaves with distinct maroon stripes and having long lasting flowers.

Sorry about posting this Kalanchoe. If you leave this on your screen for long, it's likely you'll burn out all the red pixels and be unable to view red robins, red barns, red roses, red apples, red ribbons, red snow, red Cardinal uniforms, red rubies, red blood (but blue blood will be okay), and red bell peppers.
