The Sims 4 Revamp: Roomies Household

Questions to answer:

Who owns the house? Zoe, Mitchell, J, or Gavin?

What are their relationships to each other?

How did the four of them come to own a house together?

Why is Mitchell in the wrong career?

Let's start with Question 4. Mitchell Kalani is in the wrong career for his Aspiration, which is the comedy one. He's a dishwasher, but why? Maybe it was a stand-in for a high school job before the game had part time jobs that adult sims could take, but I prefer to think that it's something his parents pressured him into. "Take the restaurant job, Mitchell," they said. "It'll be steady money," they said. Or perhaps he works for them, at a family restaurant.

So, if his parents gave him that advice, that means we need to make them!

His dad Iokua Kalani moved to Oasis Springs from Sulani when he married Mitchell's mother, Evelyn. Iokua wanted to open a Sulanian (Sulani-ese?) cuisine restaurant, and he hoped his son would follow in his footsteps. Mitchell couldn't bring himself to quit until after his father died, so Iokua went to his grave (after too much WooHooing) content with the knowledge that his son had started establishing himself in the culinary world.

Evelyn is a professional bodybuilder and is deeply disappointed that her son turned out Lazy. She's been rather horrid to him his entire life because he was a chubby youth, and the shame she made him feel just made him feel even worse about how much he hated getting sweaty and exercising. She still lives a frugal life in Oasis Springs, across from Johnny Zest. Having seen how much Zest struggles in the entertainment career, she very much hopes her only son will not do anything rash like change jobs.

I originally built this home as a starter for my old Poe legacy (which is still on here, lol, and I, um, lost interest), but it works great for the "frugal family home."

Their kitchen is a little upgraded with career rewards from the culinary track.

Basic bedroom, cheap computer.

Mitchell's room back home is just as he left it. It's been ages since Evelyn peeked in or she'd have noticed the microphone stashed in the corner where he used to quietly practice his stand-up routines. She uses the other bedroom for her exercise equipment, and Iokua had some ingredient overflow storage in there as well.

Having some deep feelings with Rook lately. One campaign I was playing her in that she managed to bring back her newborn daughter, Kalani and I wanted to capture that moment. Rook lost Kalani early in her life and between losing her daughter and then her husband that drove her down a dark path. She went most of her life being dead inside and out, never really getting over losing her daughter and her motherly instincts still strong.

Second doodle is Rook and Nizana, her younger sister who tried so hard to help her sister and only for that to go horribly wrong (Rook stabbed her to death in a moment of a mental breakdown). In the campaign I play on Sundays with Rook she reunited with her sister she was looking for…but now is a black Dragonborn after she double crossed deals for her sister’s life back. That conversation is going to be heavy already because of Rook recently getting poisoned and wanting to die. 🥲

Before I answer this, yes! My Overwatch OC absolutely counts; literally any of my OCs in existence (if I ever mention them here or somewhere else) count honestly HAHA, so you can do this ask meme with anyone! Also, normally I would accompany answers with doodles, but I can't do that atm since I'm so burnt out from studying a while ago LMAO. Hope you don't mind anon!

TW: Light mentions of family death! Not anything graphic at all, but it's just flatly mentioned. Putting one here for your + any other readers' safety, though! ^^

Sione: So his main family consists of himself of course. Then there's his father, Makoa, who works as a tattoo artist within their district. Along with his father are his two younger siblings named Wena (middle daughter) and Ikaia (youngest brother). They're very tight knit, and I imagine it gets really energetic in their household. Not a surprise when you have siblings around.

Makoa is a single father because Sione's mother, Oliana, passed away sometime prior to the main story. I haven't fleshed out the details surrounding that exactly, but that's pretty much the base explanation as to why their mother isn't around. Cherishing family and close ties are big values with Sione, and I imagine that value grew stronger following his mom's passing. It was painful, and the healing process beyond it was undeniably tough for the entire family, but they found strength along the way and held onto it. On a side note, Sione does have a bunch of extended family living around Elysian Prime!

Amani: Amani is the only child in her family, though that didn't stop the fact that she received so much love, support, and attention from her mothers! So yes, Amani's also really close with her own parents as well. Her first mother, Jamila, teaches at a local school located in the district of Gloss. Her second mother, Eshe, works as a nurse in one of the HaloMed branches (unsure which district yet).

Both her moms are just... *chefs kiss* very supportive of her. They cheered on her desire to be in the music industry since her first beginnings, not even trying to suppress their daughter's musical creativity. When Amani got a little older, she eventually moved in with her girlfriend, Shefali. However, the two still pay visits to each other's families often--so there's already strong implication that there's good vibes just circulating with their families!
