“I’m just a little confused. When I think about it more carefully, none of it makes sense. This guy could have just magically made his wife ... with that weird trick he uses to change his face, too.”

“That would be possible,” he admitted. “But if he died, his ability would dissolve and his wife would get nothing because no one would recognise her. And I think it would raise questions if the child they share doesn’t look at least somewhat like the mother.”

He was right. And he knew of her target’s wishes. If he were to change the child’s appearance as well, and his magic power actually disappeared after death, then he wouldn’t even have an heir because no one would know who this child was. Of course, at this point, a genetic test would help, but the trouble and poor light it would cast on him definitely didn’t match his arrogance. Everything had to be perfect.

And perhaps, between all the fakes, he also longed for something real.

Zoldyck Family Theory Ramblings!

White hair in the Zoldyck family symbolizes power, raw talent, and the once in the generation kind of genius extra special-ness sort of thing. And those with white hair become heirs.

Across the generations who are these white haired prodigies being compared to, but more so, how did that comparison come into being? To the point, it is a fact rather than an unsupported belief about having white hair. Before Killua and his siblings generation, all we see is Silva (presumably an only child), then Zeno (presumably an only child), Maha Zoldyck (little is known about him, but only child let's say), and then Zigg Zoldyck (very little is known, but he has white hair). There are no uncles, aunts, great uncles, great aunts, or cousins in the Zoldyck Family (that we are aware of). No one beyond Killua's generation has anything other than white hair, so by saying white haired Zoldycks become heirs than they have to be compared with Zoldycks with non-white hair. Right? There needs to be proof to support the claim that white haired Zoldycks are prodigies. Therefore, there were Zoldycks, in the previous generations, with non-white hair and didn't have the same raw talent as compared to white haired Zoldycks. So, that begs the question, who are these other members of the family that aren't being shown? Because they are there, regardless if they are or aren't still around.

What happened to them? Did they end up like Alluka, trapped in their own home? Leave the family of their own volition like Killua? (perhaps that is what Zigg Zoldyck did) or were they seen as weak/inferior that they were..... y'know......removed from the family.

Kikyo states that, in regards to Killua, he is the one child she will not give up on. I guess there is a lot to unpack from that, BUT! Were kids from the previous generations given up on? (Implying that they failed to live up to their parents expectations or the assassin life just wasn't for them so they yeeted themselves out of that abusive household.)

They even have a rule which states that 'family doesn't kill family.' That is so sus even for the Zoldyck family. Yes, they are assassins and deranged, but it is still sus. It should be a given, but the fact that it is needed to be said and is an actual rule speaks volumes. Something that should be obvious apparently isn't, and i'm theorizing that there may have been trouble and murderous intentions amongst the older generations of the Zoldyck Family and that rule was made to maintain order within subsequent generations. Why there was hypothetical turmoil among the older generation? I don't know, but if Togashi ever dives deep into the Zoldyck family then i'd love to read about it.
