Class A field trip around Japan - Day 1

In order to celebrate 100 million copies of the manga, the WSJ promo team initiated an ad campaign in local papers around Japan between 4/4-10/4, featuring the Class A kids in different famous locations. The art is all edited from existing manga panels.

Intro:

Aizawa is explaining that the class will go on a field trip around Japan to express gratitude to the people who support hero activities.

EDIT: In the meantime I saw someone already made translations / posted all of this. Here is their post with translations (can't reblog it, as I think I'm blocked by them). I'll leave my post up anyway because of the higher quality pictures and because I worked hard on it.

Day 1:

Aizawa: Are you guys excited?

Iida, Deku and Ochako are in Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill at the statute of Dr Clark, referring to his famous quote "Boys, be ambitious"

Tokoyami, Tsuyu and Mineta are tasting Aomori's famous apples.

Bakugou, Kaminari, Sero and Hagakure are at the Namahage snow festival. His classmates are teasing Bakugou that he looks like one of the demons.

Shoto and Koda are in Iwate, where Shoto is doing the wanko soba challenge (it's an all you can eat soba tradition).

Shoto: You can eat as many bowls as you want

Endeavor: Shotoooooooooo!!!!

Koda: Todoroki!! Your father wants to eat together with you too!!

Shoto: The check please.

Aizawa, Mina, Shoji and Ojirou are on Tashirojima, an island famous for its cats

Momo, Jirou and Kaminari are in Tateishokuji Temple Yamagata. They refer to the quote of Matsuo Basho - "The silence and the voice of the cicadas that penetrate the rocks."

Kirishima, Sato and Aoyama are in Fukushima, looking at traditional Okiagari Koboshi dolls, which represent perseverance; even if they are knocked over, they stand right back up. There is also a reference to Bakugou's quote to Kirishima about how being able to stand means he's strong.

So the average for an adult in good health is roughly 70-80 in every stat, with the exception of QRK which changes very little from birth without dedicated training and averages around 30-50 for most people. Mutation Quriks especially have a slow rate of QRK growth. I'll show off the QRK stat ranges below. As for Midoriya, I'm not actually sure which class he'd be in, thanks to the very strange nature of his Quirk

If he's looking at someone like AFO or a Noumu, it would list each Quirk individually, but there's only one QRK stat. Someone like Monoma would also show the copied Quirks and how long they have before wearing off. Additionally, Monoma's QRK stat shoots up while he has a copied Quirk before dropping again when they wear off.

Yes, but it's treated like a stockpile, fueled by Monoma's own QRK stat, so if his isn't high enough he won't be able to use as many of its features.

So many of these people do nothing, or have one or two scenes when the author decides to drag them out of irrelevancy. He then promptly stuffs them back onto the bench. Look at Sero and Jiro. They're defined by how they're friends with the popular kids and Momo, respectively. Toru, Koji, Mineta, Sato, all of them barely do anything. Aoyama only matters because of a much later plot point, but almost anyone could retroactively fulfill his role.

Ojiro is easily the worst character in the bunch and I strongly feel he shouldn't have existed. He's garbage. We've got a character whose gimmick is that he's lame and boring, and yet all of Class B has better characters and powers than his. Why does he exist? Why is he here? How weak is the competition in this supposedly elite school that we have someone like him here? Is this really the best Japan has to offer? Obviously Mineta's below even him and offensive to look at, but I think Ojiro is bad too. Then you've got Denki and Shoji. The first guy is mostly pointless and the second gets a fairly important role in the summer camp arc, where he's then benched until he's dragged out to do something in the final arc. This author clearly loved Naruto but he took all the wrong lessons from it. Dude looks at the number of characters and thinks "I can go harder than that!" I think he's also a rare Naruto War Arc enjoyer, since his manga had two war arcs. A nice challenge could be to write a MHA fanfic and cut Class A in half, but then don't mention it at all. I imagine most people would only notice when they don't see someone like Kaminari or Jiro.

People like them and would be on the lookout for them. There's other people like Tsuyu who you probably could cut, but she's also tacked onto Uraraka's plot with Toga. It makes her "just there" enough to give her more screen time than most of her peers, even if she doesn't really do much or stand out on her own. She also notably gets a backstory! That's a HELL of a lot more than what most of Class A gets. A reminder that we know more about Mineta than we do Kaminari.

Yeah the problem at the core of class 1a's irrelevancy is that there are too many damn characters.

You'd think that being in the main characters class would mean they'd get developed but no cause not even the author thinks they're interesting.

It's crazy cause you look at a character like sero and realize people only like him cause they made up 90% of his personality and deluded themselves into believing it was his real character, when it very much was not. And they do that with almost every student.

The students are either bland, irrelevant or annoying (looks at mineta) with the only exceptions being the origin trio, ochaco and maybe iida. Even characters that were once relevant like momo and kirishima end up abandoned. So now the mangas stubborn insistance on forcing every student into the spotlight feels disingenuous.

Izuku was distracted.

Today's training session consisted of quirkless sparring, and while Izuku was usually enthused about any kind of hero-related learning, he wasn't in the best headspace. He'd stayed up late, worrying about One for All and the future; his only clean school shirt hadn't dried properly and had stuck to the back of his neck the entire morning; his chair leg snapped when he sat down after lunch - sending him crashing to the floor - and his right hand was stiff and painful.

Suffice to say, he wasn't in the mood.

And now - because everything had accumulated - Izuku was lying on his back, heaving, as Kacchan stood over him, victorious.

'Bakugou wins.' Aizawa called out. 'You'll get your written feedback at the end. Next up is Shoji vs Ashido.'

Izuku allowed a moment to close his eyes and sigh, before getting to his feet. Instinctively, he wanted to commend Kacchan for doing a good job, but thought better of it when fierce crimson eyes shone dangerously. Instead, he found his friends - who flashed him looks of sympathy - and came to a stop next to his boyfriend.

They didn't talk during the remainder of the lesson - they'd been scolded for that enough times in the past - just politely watching their friends. That being said, Izuku could tell that Shoto was spending more time watching him than the fights. It wasn't until everyone got their sheets and were dismissed to the changing rooms that Izuku finally spoke.

'Are you going to look at your feedback?'

'Not right now.' Shoto opened his locker, then slipped the piece of paper into his bag. 'Are you?'

Izuku bit his lip, looking down at the sheet; his eyes teared up before he could even focus on the words.

'Not today.' He whispered, copying his boyfriend and shoving it in his backpack. He sniffed. 'I think I just-'

'Hey, De- Izuku.'

He whipped around to find Kacchan facing him, fists clenched and face contorted into a sneer. His feedback notes were crumpled up on the floor next to him.

'Y-Yes?'

'What the fuck is going on with you, hah?' He replied, curt. 'You wanna be number one with that shit performance? You weren't even paying attention, goddamnit! Quit slacking off and wasting my time!'

Izuku's jaw tensed, but he didn't fight back. After all, Kacchan was right: he hadn't been paying attention, he was slacking; he was shit. He was just as disappointed in himself as everyone else was.

But his lack of response only fuelled the blonde's irritability. 'Got nothing to say for yourself? Pathetic. You're acting just like you used to when-'

'That's enough.' Shoto's voice was firm, carrying through the room, causing several of their classmates to look up. 'I don't care if you think you were cheated out of a chance to prove yourself, call Izuku pathetic again and I promise you, using your hands will be the most challenging part of your day.'

'Woah, Todoroki.' Kaminari raised his hands placatingly, looking between the trio. 'Easy with the threats, yeah? Bakugou's clearly just concerned. We all are.'

'Then he can show his concern like a decent human being for once.' Shoto replied calmly, eyes never leaving Kacchan's. 'Everyone has bad days, so instead of criticising and picking a fight, sit down and shut up.'

Izuku covered his face in his hands, and waited - he couldn't bear to look. However, nothing more was said, and the silence was soon replaced by the others shuffling around the locker room; beside him, Shoto remained steadfast, unmoving, until eventually, Kacchan's brash footsteps slammed on the tiled floor as he retreated.

After that, things seemed to settle down, and by the time he removed his hands - adjusting to the brightness - most of his peers were dressed and ready to leave. Only Shoto was still in his gym uniform, watching him patiently.

'Hey.'

'Hey.' Shoto murmured quietly, bumping their shoulders together as he fiddled with his zip. 'How're you feeling?'

Izuku wasn't sure how to even respond to that, so he just said what was on his mind.

'I should've done better.' He hung his head. 'Everyone's worried, and Kacchan thinks I let him win.'

'That's not what I asked.' Despite his words, Shoto didn't sound exasperated, just concerned. 'I asked how you were feeling. It's obvious that you're not going to perform at your best if you're not taking care of yourself, because that's the real issue here.'

As Izuku turned to look at him inquisitively, he was met with a bottle of water. 'Drink, you've hardly had any water today.'

Izuku knew better than to protest, and took the bottle - quickly transferring it to his left hand - before downing more than half of it; he couldn't stop. How had he not realised how thirsty he was?

As he lowered the drink, a warm hand snaked down his right arm and intertwined their hands. 'It's hurting again isn't it?'

He didn’t need ask what Shoto meant by that - his boyfriend was scarily perceptive when it came to his body and how he was feeling - and instead, nodded once, feeling resigned.

‘Just flaring up, but it’s kinda added to my already shit day.'

Shoto hummed in response, activating his quirk and heating up their hands. Immediately, the pain lessened - retreating into more of a dull ache - and he felt his shoulders slump. ‘Thanks, Shoto-kun.'

‘I’ll give it a proper massage when we get back to the dorms.' He replied, matter-of-factly; it wasn’t a suggestion. 'But for now...'

He released their hands, and instead wrapped him in a hug, so Izuku's cheek was pressed against his chest. Shoto's heart thudded against his ear, and Izuku felt his resolve finally crack, as streams of tears escaped his eyes. It was just what he needed, and he clung tightly to his boyfriend like there was no one else around.

Today started off bad, but he didn't have to deal with it alone.

Ok randomized the teams for the Total Drama AU except for two. Mineta and Sero. After randomizing everyone else I put Mineta on the loosing team for the first challenge and Sero on the winning one.

Team One wins the first part of the challenge due to only Mineta chickening out but both Toru and Denki chickening out for Team Two. However due to Todoroki being on the team they even out the fact they lost the carts arriving only slightly behind Team 1.

Momo flat out just replaces the parts they need that they didn't get meanwhile Team 1 is being slightly dysfunctional due to Bakugo not listening to people and arguing resulting in them wasting time and needing to rush.

Team 2's is perfect while Team 1's looks a bit worse for wear but still functions meaning Team 1 made the worse Hot tub and is up for an elimination.

Team 1 votes out Mineta. Vote goes 2 Bakugo (Iida & Mineta) 1 Midoriya (Bakugo) and everyone else votes for Mineta

Fuckin rip Mineta.

Also Katsuki honey PLEASE learn some cooperation quick!!

BNHA Rewrite 1A: The Minor Characters

And finally, the background characters.

Mashiro Ojiro - Lion Dance

First off, his Quirk is called Lion Tail, a combo of his mother’s Leomorph Quirk and his father’s Monkey Tail.

Beyond the tail, he has claws, sharp teeth, and longer toes that afford him better grip.

Prefers Wado-Ryu Karate & Monkey Style Kung Fu.

Slightly more aggressive, always up for a challenge.

Grew up in a dojo, son of two martial artists. Skilled poet, Tokoyami is jealous.

While his tail tuft is blonde, his hair is actually black and dyed to match.

Sparring partners and friends with Uraraka, alongside Kirishima, Sato, & Hagakure.

Best martial artist in 1A, neck in neck with Nirengeki for best in First Year.

Tooru Hagakure - Transluminescent

Her costume is made from her hair (like Mirio’s).

Pink & blue crystalline bodysuit and pocket skirt.

Trans rights.

Much better handle on her light refraction abilities, and buff as hell.

Got through the Entrance Exam by blinding a drone, ripping off a leg and going to town.

Helps out Todoroki during USJ by luring villains into the woods, away from him.

Rikido Sato - Sugarman

Sugar Rush increases muscle 'output’ instead of just strength.

This includes fast twitch muscles, (granting him limited superspeed) and the brain (Though, combined with the drawback it usually ends up a net neutral)

Looks up to O’Clock. Midoriya’s convinced he could mimic O’Clock’s powers.

Best friends w/ Ojiro & Kirishima.

Koji Koda - Anivoice

His Quirk is named Nature’s Call.

Borders between talking and and command.

Selectively mute, but has trouble with JSL due to his face hampering traditional facial expressions. Still, JSL buddies with Jirou, Bakugo & Shinso.

Still growing the ‘Antennae’ that would allow him to use his Quirk telepathically.

Gets along surprisingly well with Kaminari & Shinso.

Has a crush on Jirou.

Mezo Shoji - Tentacole

Abandoned by parents at birth.

Semi-Illiterate, has a tutor.

Tokoyami’s best friend, also friends with Shoji & Mina.

Country boy, has an accent but shy about it. Uraraka starts speaking more in her accent for solidarity and to make him more comfortable.

Has a crush on Kendo.

Mineta Minoru -

Drops out following the USJ.

What if Netflix MCU-ifies the hero suits ☹

That's something I'm afraid of.

Now, forgetting about writing and directing aside, let's think about visuals.

Off bat, I do not think BNHA is something that be live adapted. Why? Because visually, that's going to be a challenge.

Look, some of the fandom already make complaints about some of the animation in the anime. The live action will be given no mercy if they mess up on anything.

BNHA in the sense of character design is too spontaneous.

How will SHOJI look in live action? ASHIDO? TOKOYAMI?

Midoriya may be a breeze, but come on.

Let's be real now.

What kills me about live adaptations is relying on too much CGI when sometimes it's not needed. There are cosplayers who can pull off a lot of the costumes because they took the time to do so.

If a cosplayer can make Bakugou's gauntlets, then CGI would not be needed to make them for a movie unless for like an action scene. But hell, practically effects exist.

I get it, time and money.

Cosplayers have less.

Hell, the easiest costumes they should get off the bat are Aizawa, Kaminari and Jiro's.

In addition, it's also the vibes.

BNHA is a story that was just meant to be animated. It was meant to be read in a manga. It's a story about superheroes and villains and typically, where would one turn to for content like that?

Comic books.

A detail I love the sixth season has done is adding the comic book sound effects. I love that so much because it ties in so well with the genre.

The flashcards and titles? YES!!

Will they add those kind of effects in the live action film? Who is to say? But it would be amazing if they have the chance to.

So many films rely on CGI for everything (omg, I know CGI folks have to be tired) that movies might as well just be animated. There should be a balance of good costume design, CGI and practical effects to make a movie like this work. Just relying on CGI 85% or the time and then the rest is 15% is unbalanced.

My Hero Academia 6x02

In this episode Mirko surprised me, like i expected her to bust in, encounter a couple of nomus and be killed in a couple of hits. But she smashed a bunch of them in glass tanks and destroyed 2 important ones in a couple of minutes. The black goo warp one and another that had been implanted Twice clon quirk, So Garaki and the "still getting ready" Shigaraki don't have a way out. And Mirko isn't the only hero that turns to be over-powered this episode.

I liked to see Mirko kick nomus as much as i've come to like her. A girl in anime in a bunny costume could be very easily be use as eye candy, but Mirko has this tough girl attitude that makes you appreciate her skills. Her big challenge was going against 5 High-End Nomus, and she managed to kill one. The thing with Nomu fights, is that it's hard to get into them. They do have unique desings and seem to do cool stuff like twist Mirko's arm as if it was made of rubber or grow an exo-skeleton but when you don't know what to expect, the moves seem random action unlike the Nomu fight in season 1 where we were told the quirks and thus the heroes had to use their brain a bit.

That said, Garaki manages to escape and seems to be trying to speed up Shigaraki's process, we also se Crust: the shild hero offer some backup. We see that Deku, Uraraka, IIda, Todoroki and Bakugo are evacuating as part of the Hospital team support.

On the raid side of things, we get to see Shoji, Mina,Ojiro,Momo, Aoyama, Sato, Kirishima and Kyoka worry about Kaminari and Tokoyami in the front team. This episode finally confirms that Kaminari and Kyoka like eachother and it isn't just a friedly tease. Midnight does very well at talking his nerves while going to fight by saying " if you need motivation, think about the most important person for you"

We get a quick glimpse of the Paranormal liberation front when they sense the heroes are coming and Skeptic, one of Re-destro's crew that was keeping an eye on Hawks seems to think Twice is to blame for this, cuz he is nowhere to be found. And the heroes do a great entrance thanks to Cementos, he shows how OP he really is by manipulating the building all the bad guys are in, and literally make the walls split open. A dude that seems somewhat in charge gets ready to use some massive electric attack to stop the heroes and the episode ends with Kaminari being a lightning rod with everyone else behind him.

Certainly a surprising episode that gave the spotlight to some new and some unexpected characters. With so many heroes, i wonder if this double raid will go on the entire season and when Deku will be the main character again.

Class 1-A having a classmate with the same personality and talent as 𝐶𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑎 𝐿𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑏𝑢𝑟𝑔

I got the impression from @thatonegaytheaterkid

However instead of Genshin Impact characters, I wanted to do this with Danganronpa characters

You stood out from the rest of your classmates by your looks alone. You didn’t wear the school uniform and no matter how many times Iida scolded you, you never did. Same goes for tracksuits Aizawa gave you. You wore a black tracksuit that covered your arms and had pockets. You said your skin was delicate so you got permission to wear it.

When it comes to academics, you are well above average and probably amongst the top performers

When it comes to battle you are very strategic and try to not get yourself too dirty. However when you’re angered you become very scary and quiet frightening. Even if your quirk requires luck you are still a formidable foe. You even told them you were born with good luck, and with how well you perform it shows.

To keep your skills intact you bet and gamble with other students which has almost gotten you into trouble. You use loopholes which keep you safe, but when you do go out for actual gambling you have to make sure you’re not being followed.

This is because Iida constantly insist on reminding you how gambling is illegal and how you shouldn’t rely on luck. He challenges you often in games like uno or shoji, but you always win and he is forced to bring you snacks for lunch and be your personal butler.

Your classmates were eager to find out what your real name is. They tried bring in Shinso, but you saw right through their plan

Because of how little they knew about you some rumors started to show up. Some will be about you being Aizawa’s secret love child or you being some vampire. However as you started to get more attached and interacted with you class more they began to cease.

You’re very close to Momo and Todoroki as you find them more refined and consider them high class. You’ll invite them to tea parties and have a good time

Tokoyami and you both appreciate each other’s aesthetic. You two are goth buddies

You never get along with Bakugo. Never. He will make sure to challenge you to some kind of game every month to try and beat you. He never does and it pisses him off.

You and Kaminari are secretly friends. He had a new volume of a gambling manga you wanted to read and after you read together you two were kinda close. He even introduced you to other genres of anime and manga and you both have a good time. You told him your real name before anyone else.

While it took awhile for you to open up, everyone sees you as a their treasured classmate. Some will even go out of their way to tease you so you can enjoy in on the fun (Mostly Mina, Kaminari, and Hagakure.)
