╔═════ °• ♔ •° ═════╗
𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞. 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧.
╚═════ °• ♔ •° ═════╝
Hugging the flowers to your chest, you attempted (quite poorly, if you were being honest) to hide your flushed cheeks and pouty lips from the man before you, stuffing the lower half of your face into the petals and taking a deep breath. You couldn't deny the heavenly smell of the blossoms, your vision now slightly obscured by a mesh of various blue hues, the colour that you could only now associate with one person.
Karamatsu couldn't help but to watch you in silence, his dark eyes admiring the way your petite hands clasped themselves around the cut stems, your shoulders and clavicle exposed to the soft light filtering into the small space your dress, though now they were covered in dainty petals as you pressed the bouquet closer to yourself. His mind began to fill with all sorts of ways to describe your elegance and beauty, wanting to remove the white cloth covering his fingers so that he could run his bare fingers over your skin and tresses.
Clearing his throat quietly, he rid his mind of these thoughts as best as he could and licked his slightly dried lips, preparing himself to speak.
"Princess--"
"You--"
The both of you froze, Karamatsu's cheeks darkening at the sound of your voice chiming in alongside his, as did yours, though you were grateful you had the flowers so that he couldn't see this. With a small gesture of his hand, the prince urged you to speak first, to which you shifted uncomfortably in your place, eyes stuck on the flowers bunched in your hands.
"...You didn't need to bring a gift to speak with me, you know," you began quietly, the usual bite behind your words gone as you avoided your original sentence for the time being. "We're not the kind of royals who demand items in exchange for words."
"I am aware," Karamatsu smiled softly, hoping it would encourage you to keep talking with him the way you were doing so now. "Even so, I felt it was necessary if I am to convey these words to you."
"Which are...?" Oddly, your heart began to thud against your chest in anticipation, watching the way his hand moved to run lightly over his coloured streaks of hair before settling it over his chest, looking into your eyes with his rich brown orbs.
"I would like to become closer with you."
The words tumbling from his lips left you in surprise, eyes widening as he continued.
"The same way we did that day we travelled through the forest on horseback, I wish to do that again with you. I must admit, it felt nice to be able to bond with someone after facing so much rejection from other royals I have briefly acquainted..." A quiet huff of laughter left him at that.
"However, I understand that you do not wish to go through with this engagement, and I do not want to force you into yet another unfortunate circumstance," His words became softer, the smile on his lips becoming solemn at its corners as he lowered his gaze, hand pressing firmer against his chest. "So, even if we do not become close as husband and wife, then at the very least, having you as a friend would still warm my heart nonetheless."
Though his heart ached, he knew it would be for the best. Cutting things off earlier into whatever relationship the two of you had begun to form would be much easier, even if it was still painful for Karamatsu to do such a thing. Truthfully, he didn't want to leave, he didn't want to have to give up on you, but if it was something you wanted, he couldn't force anything. Love and friendship are delicate things, preciously moulded by the hands of those who are willing to move forward, and you...
"I don't want you to leave."
Karamatsu's head snapped up, mouth slightly agape as he questioned whether he had heard you correctly, or if he had imagined your words. The crimson staining the tips of your ears and dusting your shoulders told him otherwise. You couldn't meet his eyes, pointing them down towards the few books still laying open and your eyes catching onto the delicately coloured sketch of a baby pink larkspur, the layers bunching together like the skirt of a ball gown.
"I don't... want you to leave," you breathed, squeezing your eyes shut in hopes that it would help you concentrate on what you were saying and not on Karamatsu's twinkling eyes. "I'm sure you've realised this by now, but I'm not used to having such conversations anyone, not even my own parents... Vulnerability has made me weak in the past, and now I believe that becoming hostile towards others is just second nature to me."
A small lull in your voice came and went, ears sensitive to his quiet breaths, and you wondered if he was even breathing at all as he hung onto your every word.
"I know I can't hide away like this forever. I look like more of a coward than anything else, at this point," you sighed. "I know I don't deserve it, but if... if you could..."
This feeling inside of you was so foreign to you. It made you hesitant, made you scared, made you want to back out at the last possible moment, but you knew if you did such a thing you wouldn't get a chance like this ever again - and that thought hurt you more than you thought it would. Swallowing your shallow pride, you forced the words out of your mouth, ignoring that snide voice in the back of your mind telling you to give up already.
"If you could find it in yourself to forgive me for my actions... for what I've said to you... then maybe we could start this over. I want to be patient with you, the same way you have been patient with me."
"... As friends?"
Karamatsu may have been too hopeful, but he wanted to hear it from you nonetheless.
"... Wherever it goes, I don't think I would mind as much." You tried to stay nonchalant about it, though the sudden flush of heat over your skin at the sight of Karamatsu's broad and genuine smile made you fumble, and once you locked eyes, neither of you could bring yourselves to look away. Feeling bold, the prince raised both of his hands and placed them around your own, surrounding them with warmth, the sensation of his gloves brushing against your skin sending a shiver up your spine.
"Thank you, princess." He breathed quietly, the soothing baritone of his voice low for your ears only.
"F-For what?" you responded just the same, the fragrance of hydrangeas now surrounding you both, intoxicatingly sweet.
"For giving me a chance."

asfgshtgrag i’m really nervous to put this out there and it’s kinda more self-indulgence than anything but here’s a Karamatsu/InsecureFemaleReader thingy
It took her a second to realize he was being serious. And when she did indeed come to that realization, she bust out laughing and doubled over.
“Are you for real?!” She was caught in a fit of giggles, bringing her legs up and pressing her face into her knees.
“O-of course I am-! You are a gorgeous young woman and I would have no other-” Well, that didn’t go as planned. Karamatsu hadn’t expected such a reaction once he’d admitted his feelings to her.
He liked her, he really did. Actually, he probably liked that girl more than enough for both of them. And she needed it; he knew that she, unfortunately, didn’t like herself as much as others did. But dammit, he brought her out here where there would be a perfect view of the sunset. It would’ve been romantic as hell, had it gone the way he planned.
Karamatsu had accepted that he couldn’t be Casanova all the time, but he could try. With a small sigh, he laid eyes on the girl as she finally overcame her giggling fit.
“You really thought I was joking, darling?” When he’d asked that, the saddened tone in his voice brought the female’s surprised gaze to meet his.
“I mean... Why wouldn’t you be? Gorgeous young woman, my ass. You could find someone better.” She shrugged and turned away from him. While it may have seemed nonchalant on the outside, she’d actually done it because she couldn’t bear to look at him like that any longer. She’d upset him, and it made her heart ache.
“Non non, pretty lady-” Kara shook his head and forced a smile, desperately attempting to capture her gaze again.
“It’s not just how you look. While you are a modern belle on the outside, you are an incredible array of attraction on the inside as well. Your compliments are my ray of golden sunshine even in the most stormy of days. Your compassion and sympathy are only matched by your intimate and caring behavior when it is most needed. And let me just say that I particularly enjoy-”
“Karamatsu-” Finally, a finger comes up to his lips and silences that boy’s goddamn cheesy monologue.
“Y-yes, my honey?” Such a lovely part of her, so close to him. Even if it’s just a finger, he still cherishes that finger dearly.
The female lowers her hand, then huffs and crosses her arms. He really cared this much, did he? It almost made her want to bust out laughing again. But... He seemed sincere, and god forbid he try to offer her flowers or candy again. What a nerd.
“If- if I accept your compliments, will it shut you up?” Her puffed-out cheeks held a slight blush, soon becoming more intense as Karamatsu appears to light up almost instantly.
“Of course! Well, I think either way, I could never resist commenting on how lovely you are~” In a sudden bout of confidence, he took her hand and placed a soft kiss on the back of it.
However, while the girl would normally retort and sputter something about how she doesn’t deserve this and he could find someone better, she simply let it happen and hid her reddened face behind her free hand.
It would seem that, perhaps, maybe she really could accept herself for Karamatsu. Just a little bit.

If you'll be my star I'll be your sky You can hide underneath me and come out at night When I turn jet black and you show off your light I live to let you shine I live to let you shine But you can skyrocket away from me And never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by If you'll be my boat I'll be your sea A depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity Ebbing and flowing and pushed by a breeze I live to make you free I live to make you free
You approach the lone stranger, silent, to himself. Normally you see him singing a cheesy G string on his guitar on the roof where his family resides under, repeating it over and over again. Just to impress you, just wanting you to notice him or acknowledge him. But today was different, he didn’t seem very approachable, he was alone, no guitar, no fancy show, nothing else but that cheesy leather jacket and his high heeled auburn dress shoes. The moon merely shining light against his sunglasses. What a joke. Why’s he wearing shades in the dark? That’s stupid. He’s stupid. As you would think if he had his smug expression on his face.
But no, his expression only appeared.. Lonely. As if he wanted companionship, a friend, someone to lean on for these rare occasions. He was humming that soft tune on his lips. Really, you’re use to this pompous show that he parades himself in with his gaudy attire. But no, his song was quiet, to himself. As if he wasn’t expecting anyone to listen to him.
You approach him, this man in the leather jacket with his hand extended as if he was catching something, something symbolic maybe? Nawh. Maybe he was trying to catch fire flies while he was in his daze. The man perked up to look at you, his hand slowly closed as he draped it to his side. Giving that typical smile on his face, like nothing ever happened to him, stopping his soft sounding song that seemed, near natural to him. He slid his hand into his pocket, giving that usual scoff, while pulling down those stupid-in-the-dark sunglasses to wink at you as a greeting. You know there was something up, but he seemed to be unaware of the fact that you acknowledged his feelings.
“GOOD EVENING!” He would greet you in his most eccentric English sounding pronunciation.
....Despite seeming alone, or hurt. He seemed to cover up his emotional wounds easily. As if he’s done this multiple times before, to more than just you.
You can’t help but want to hold him, you can’t help but want to hug him and tell him it’s ok to feel sad. But you didn’t want to pry. You swallow your worries and nod to him as a greeting.
He lets out a laugh “Why the frown? There is nothing for you to feel sad about! Me? Well, I can’t help but enjoy the night air! AHHH! C'est la vie! Such as life! You must relish the simple things!”
You ask the man’s name. You said you’ve seen him around before, despite being worried about him.
He laughed in a light hearted manner“OH! My name? Haha, how rude of me! The name’s MATSUNO KARAMATSU! .... But everyone calls me Karamatsu. Thanks to my multiple brothers. It’ll be easier to call me as such!”
This was how you had your first official meeting, with such a lonely soul. Who seemed more than elated at the fact that someone wanted to drop by, saying hello. Even to the point that you introduced your name to him. He feels honored.
“.... So that’s who you are? I love it! I’ll be sure to remember it every time we meet!”

╔═════ °• ♔ •° ═════╗
𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.
╚═════ °• ♔ •° ═════╝
"What do you think, dear?" Your mother turned to you with a smile. "A horse ride with your future husband sounds quite relaxing, don't you think?"
"It would be quite relaxing, if my future husband actually knew how to ride horses instead of betting on them," you replied flatly, staring right into the man's dark eyes. He met your deadpan look with a smug grin, corners of his mouth curling upwards.
"Touché, my love!" You grit your teeth at the pet name. "Although, I am quite certain you will enjoy the riveting show of horse racing just as much, with my presence by your side!"
"I'm sure she will come to enjoy a few games!" your father agreed. "I myself cannot deny the joy of horse betting."
"Wonderful story, father," you rolled your eyes. Standing up from your seat, you bunched up your skirts as you began making a hasty exit. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have more important matters to worry about," you turned back with a spiteful glare, "such as making sure my kingdom doesn't fall to ruins."
You never liked waiting for responses, and so you left with those final words hanging in the air. Your platter of food had barely been touched, but who could blame you? Your appetite was no longer with you after having to sit at a table with three people who you currently felt nothing but anger towards.
You didn't actually know what you were going to do after leaving the dining hall. If you were being honest, you didn't particularly feel like studying or reading -- you were sure that if you picked up a book, or any object for that matter, it would just end up being hurled at the wall.
Your stomach churned uncomfortably as you stalked down the large, empty hallways. Your footsteps echoed around you, too loud for your tastes. They rang in your ears like high-pitched white noise, never ending, ringing and ringing. It made your chest feel tight. Which you found odd; you were sure you hadn't worn a corset on this particular day.
Everything seemed to be doing a great job at ticking you off, so you took a sharp left instead of a right towards your quarters, heading for the garden. You paused in the glass doorway, eyes scanning over the tall bushes and bunches of flowers decorating the space. The large fountain could just about be seen in the distance, the moon above casting a glinting glow on its running water.
Taking careful steps down, you sighed heavily as your foot made contact with the gravelled pathway, the crunching stones muffling the sound of your heels greatly. You spotted a few guards patrolling the perimeter, each of them giving you a stiff bow before marching onward, their guns propped against their shoulders. You held your tongue this time as they passed.
It was dark, but not dark enough so that you couldn't see where you were going. A breeze swept by, but it's calming nature was lost on you. You slowed your quick pace down to a gentle walk, eyeing the delicately trimmed hedges that stood tall around you.
In most kingdoms, the hedges would be covered in roses, always deep crimson, and always blooming. You had always wondered if they were even real. You had touched their petals, but they didn't feel like silk; thy felt rough and fabricated. Empty, with no sense of care oozing from their centres. They were just as fake as the smiles others had sent your way, ever since you were young.
You raised a hand, stretching a single finger outward towards the flower. It's bleeding colours were darkened under the night sky. For a moment, you forgot that roses were red. This one looked black. Pure black, a darkened abyss, swirling and writhing, contorting into sneering faces. It swayed in the breeze, laughing and mocking you.
You returned your hand. Turning away, you headed towards the fountain, taking a seat on its marble ring. Your tiara was in your hands again. You could barely make out it's engraved designs. The cut gems had lost their flare. They were dull, now. They were nothing more than stones to you. Nothing special. Nothing unique. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
Amidst the trickling of water from behind you, a pair of footsteps sounded from nearby. You straightened your posture, replacing the tiara above your locks, glancing over to your right. A horrible glare graced your features when you saw who it was.
"Please, wait! Don't leave yet!" Karamatsu spoke first, hastening his walk into a jog to reach you. He looked like a lost puppy, eyes wide and brows upturned as he begged you through his dark orbs to stay.
'Pathetic.'
"Well? What do you want?" you snapped, crossing your arms over your chest as you turned your nose up in spite. The man took a deep breath, whether in relief or to calm his anger, you didn't care.
"Princess, I... Would it be alright if I sat with you here?" He timidly asked, a small smile on his lips. It wasn't the same one as before. You raised a brow.
"That's what you came all the way out here for?" You sighed heavily, standing from your seat. "I don't have to time to waste on the likes of you." You began walking away, annoyance rolling off of you in waves.
"No-- Wait!" He grabbed a hold of your wrist, harshly halting your movements. "I just meant that--"
"Don't you get it?" you whipped around, boring your hardened gaze into his own eyes. He flinched at the look. "You are nothing but a burden to me. I want nothing to do with you, and there is nothing you can do to change my mind!" your voice raised with each word, and you caught yourself before it could get any worse.
Taking a deep breath, you yanked your wrist out of his hand.
"I'm giving you one more warning. Leave by morning, if you know what's good for you." You turned away once more.
"...Do you really hate me that much?"
His voice was soft and gentle. No trace of anger was there in his words. Not even sadness. It was an emotion you couldn't quite identify. You turned to look at him. The moon shone down over him, casting a ghostly glow over his face.
He was smiling. Now you knew what it was. It was understanding.
"...I see," he bowed low to you, the same way he did when he first met you. "I bid you a goodnight, Princess. Sleep well."
You had no words. Nothing left your lips, although they were parted. You stared at him for a moment, then you turned and finally walked away. Reaching the steps back up the castle, you paused, the itching urge to look back one more time biting at you, but you fought against it.
You didn't care. You didn't care. You didn't.
The castle was quiet now. Your footsteps didn't bother you this time. The emptiness didn't disturb you this time. Your stomach was no longer churning. All was still. Was it always this quiet?
Reaching your room, you didn't bother to change out of your dress just yet. Instead, you moved towards you tall window in the dark, moving away the thick curtains. You sank to the ground, your skirts flattening out around you like a withering flower. You stared upwards, towards the moon.
A plain white disc in the sky. Greying in some areas. A soft, dark shadow surrounding its edges. The stars couldn't sparkle as bright as the moon. No matter what. The stars that hung in the night sky could never, ever, shine as bright as the moon.
You sat there, nails digging into your upper arms as you lost yourself in thought. The moon rose higher and higher. So many thoughts, and at the same time, nothing at all.

You did everything you could to avoid meeting the prince when he arrived, but it seemed that your parents were expecting this, and had knights placed around every corner of the castle in order to escort you down to the main gates.
You kept your face a blank slate as you stood between your parents, hands folded neatly in front of you, just as you were always taught. Your eyes were trained on a carriage glinting in the distance, slowly approaching.
"I hope you remember your manners, [Y/N]," your father muttered, barely moving as he addressed you. You suppressed the urge to roll your eyes, replying flatly;
"How could I, father? Especially after that little talk we had yesterday. I know my place."
"Just don't do anything out of order."
"You can trust me, father." You briefly turned to him, flashing a bright smile that didn't quiet reach your eyes — not that he had the chance to notice that. "I may act rash, but have I ever gone against my word?"
He had no chance to respond, either, as the carriage had pulled to a stop in front of you, it's white horses shaking their heads with a huff. The driver of the carriage stepped off his seat, swiftly moving to the door and pulling it open with a bow.
"May I present Prince Karamatsu, of Akatsuka Kingdom."
Out stepped a man with a pale, rounded face and thick brows resting above his large eyes, his dark hair slicked back with a few rare streaks of royal blue running through the sides. His attire also had flashes of azure, fitting nicely against the white fabric. Except for the cape which he had draped over his right shoulder; it was covered in glittering sequins, practically blinding you all as it reflected the sun's light in multiple directions.
You hid your grimace well, though your brow twitched every now and then at his atrocious display. The man, Karamatsu, brought a gloved hand to his chin, eyes sweeping over your small royal family. His lips stretched into a cat-like grin, eyes lidded as he hummed triumphantly.
"It seems that I have arrived at my destination!" He pointed his hand towards the sky, posing dramatically. "Fate has led me down my destined path, yet it still stretches onwards! Where to, next? Our mortal minds will never know!"
His monologue was met with confused silence. You hated how the deep rumble of his voice raised goosebumps across your skin. Your fingers were gripping your palms in a white-knuckled grip, resisting the urge to pull out your hair. You hoped that now, your parents could see what kind of hell they were attempting to put you through.
It didn't take long for his luggage to be taken into the palace, a surge of maids carrying uncountable amounts of cases to his new sleeping quarters. Your parents showed him through to the main hall, having a pleasantly one-sided conversation with the prince whilst you followed silently from behind. Your father cleared his throat after a moment, plastering a polite smile on his face.
"Well, Queen Koume and I must get back to our royal duties. I can assure you that our servants and knights around the palace are more than able to aid you should you need anything, Prince Karamatsu," he bowed his head lightly. Glancing at you, he added, "Our daughter is also quite the intelligent child. I'm sure she will be more than happy to assist her fiancé in any way she can." He pressed the last few words as he stared hard at you, lips thinning into a flat line as no response was given from you, not even a twitch of facial expression.
Your mother tugged gently on his arm, a warning look subtly sent his way as she smiled at her guest. "We shall see you at dinner later tonight, dear." With that, she led her husband away, disappearing round a corner and leaving the two of you alone. Instantly, the Prince was bowing low in front of you, almost comically so.
"I am truly blessed from the heavens above to be given such an opportunity to wed the most exquisite of flowers!" He took a gentle hold of your hand, bringing the back of your hand to his lips and placing a chaste kiss against your skin. You merely watched on with a slightly raised brow.
"Princess, I look forward to our future together!"
A moment of silence passed before you smiled softly.
"How sweet! I most certainly do not look forward to our time spent together, unfortunately!"
"Hm! As expected, my Princess is as kind as she appears! Soft and kind-hearted, you— ..I'm sorry, what was it that you said?" His tone fell from confident to unsure in a heartbeat. You slowly allowed you smile to fall away into a scornful glare, the man's lips now pulled into a timid smile, sweat beginning to accumulate on his temple.
"It seems that you can actually listen to something other than your own voice," you sneered, crossing your arms over your chest. He tilted his head, confused and slight hurt flashing through his eyes. "This whole set up for our marriage is one of the worst things my parents could ever do."
You took a few steps forward, standing chest to chest with him and pushing a finger against him.
"Let me make this clear, your highness," you spat, "I, just like many other princesses across the region, don't want anything to do with you and your kingdom. If you had any sense with you, then I would expect you to be gone by dinner today, and to call off this god forsaken wedding the minute you arrive back."
You turned on your heel, snapping your fingers as you walked away, a grin spreading across your lips. The look of disbelief on his face was enough to assure you that he would definitely be taking your kind token of advice.
Behind you, a servant you had summoned was busy trying to coax a frozen Karamatsu to his room, his eyes locked onto your back as you grew further and further away from him, eventually disappearing from his view.
You spent the rest of the hours till evening reading in the library, making use of your secret corner hidden atop the bookshelves to catch up on the handful of novels you had picked up. Your mind had stopped thinking of the so-called guest that had entered your home while you were distracted, only to be reminded of his existence when your butler came to fetch you for dinner.
"Tanuki? Where is the Prince?" You asked innocently as you were led to the dining room. Your butler hummed thoughtfully.
"I am sorry, your highness. I haven't seen him since his arrival this morning. As far as I'm aware, he should be joining us for dinner this evening."
'Oh, I'm sure he won't be,' you thought giddily.
A set of tall doors were pushed open for you, the long table filled with food beckoning for you to take a seat. Only, you were stuck where you stood. Your eye twitched dangerously at the sight before you, your lips trembling as you struggled to keep them shut so as not to scream in frustration.
He was sat there, happily chatting away with your mother as your father laughed at something he had said. His eyes locked into yours, the air stilling for a moment before his smile widened, gesturing for you to come take a seat.
"Good evening, Princess! I'm sure that the food will taste ten times better now that we have been graced with your presence!"
He winked at you from across the table as your chair was pushed in. The grip on your utensils tightened considerably. A voice in the back of your mind was becoming louder and louder, drowning out the talk around you.
You had underestimated him, it seems.
'No matter.'
You pierced a morsel of food harshly with your fork.
'This just means I can resort to harsher methods.'

╔═════ °• ♔ •° ═════╗ 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 ╚═════ °• ♔ •° ═════╝
The letter crumpled between your fingers, your grasp becoming too tight for the fragile thing. Your angered steps echoed through the empty hallways as you made your way to the main throne room, bursting through the door despite your butler's worried cries.
"What is the meaning of this?!" you seethed, waving the pale paper towards the two lone figures in the room. A heavy sigh resonated from your father as he pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger.
"[Y/N], you are of age to be married. Of course we had to choose a suitable groom for you--"
"I know that!" you cut him off. "But that isn't what I'm talking about. Out of all the kingdoms we have alliances with, you picked this one?!"
"They made us an offer, [Y/N]. You know that we must do what we can to protect out kingdom!" your mother spoke next, furrowing her brows in worry. She glanced at her husband, who's lips were set in a firm, solemn line.
"And you must know that each of those six princes are utterly useless when it comes to ruling a kingdom! Why do you think none of them have been married off yet?"
"[Y/N], that's enough." your father stood from his throne, straightening his regal robes as he offered his wife a hand, carrying her down the set of high steps and heading for the door you had entered through, sweeping past you. You spluttered, the letter forgotten in your palm as you hardened your hold.
"But father--!"
"There is nothing else to discuss!"
The annoyed tone of your father's words hung in the air dangerously, like icicles waiting to drop.
"By now, one of the Matsuno sextuplets will have been chosen and is being sent here for twelve months. You will behave yourself and treat him as your future husband, and that, is, it. There is nothing you can do to change anyone's minds."
He turned to you, eyes full of stern resolution, locking onto your horrified glare.
"Am I understood?"
He didn't move an inch as you stayed silent, lowering your head as you spat out the words through gritted teeth.
"...Yes, father."
You burned holes through the ground as your parents walked away, the final closing of the doors telling you that you were completely and utterly alone. You grasped the letter between both hands, ripping it apart in a fit of bubbling anger, the fragmented remains scattering across the marble floors.
Storming away to your room, skirts raised above the ground so they wouldn't slow you down any further, thought after thought trickled to your mind, only serving to fuel the fire growing in the pit of your stomach.
Akatsuka Kingdom. Known for its power, as well as the rare phenomena that was the six princes, all identical sextuplets who were born into the royal family. Many thought they would assist the kingdom in growing stronger, using their princely wits and charms to raise their power.
Instead, they all became well known for their immense stupidity and lack of interest in becoming King and inheriting the throne from their parents, let alone marrying into a wealthy royal family, such as your own.
You slammed your bedroom doors shut, breathing heavily. Now, somehow, you were destined to marry one of them? Was this fate's cruel way of messing up your future? Slowly, you reached a hand up to the tiara resting haphazardly on your head, removing it and holding it to your eyes. The jewels encrusted into the gold linings reflected your scowl back at you, distorted and warped hideously.
From a young age, your mind had matured a lot quicker than your body. You were more interested in learning about how to be a perfect ruler than the other snobby royals and lords you had met over the years. You had always longed to find someone of the same mindset, in hopes that they would aid you in strengthening your own kingdom.
But now, everything was falling apart right in front of you, and you apparently had no say in the matter.
The tiara fell from your fingers, rolling across the ground with a clatter. You didn't care where it was. You slid down against the door, head cradled in your hands.
What would you do now? What now? What now? What. Now?
The answer seemed obvious, too obvious at first.
You raised your head, glaring at empty air, barely registering how dark the room had become. The setting sun glinted dangerously through your windows, lighting up your eyes in a raging fire that had suddenly exploded from withing you.
You couldn't cancel the wedding. But no one ever said that they couldn't. All you had to do was keep pushing, and pushing, and pushing, all the way to their breaking point. Then they would leave, and you would be at peace. You would have him gone no sooner than he arrives.
A malicious grin crossed your lips as you carefully stood up, picking up your tiara off of the ground. You twirled the headpiece between your fingers, the dark shadows in the dimly lit room casting a sinister aura over your form.
You huffed a silent chuckle. It was ironic, really. Your kingdom was known for its everlasting beauty, filled to the brim with flowers and greenery that attracted others like a bee to its nectar. However, it's as the old saying goes...
"Every rose has its thorns."

𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀
You write to me about roses, About roses opening as roses die. Always, you say, there are roses, So that people get used to them And cease to wonder. Now I am on a hilltop, Bare, with a few pine trees Twisted by an inexhaustible wind, By a wind that is never tired, A wind that passes and passes and is never gone. I cannot think what it would be like for the pine trees If there were no wind.
——
Your roses would not be happy on my hilltop. They would be scornful of my huckleberry bush With their plain, blue fruit.
——
They would not care for the white meadow-sweet That leans against a rock. Roses must have rich soil, And careful pruning. They must be sheltered from the wind and cold And have stakes to lean upon. They do not stand alone like the flames of vervain On my windy hilltop.
——
Roses are gifts for lovers. Lovers have always had much to say about roses. When you sent me a rose Folded in a letter, Did you know I would open it on a hilltop Where the wind searches me As it does the pine trees And my skirts are brushing The fine flame of the vervain?

We need more angry sunshine and blue berry soo.. Angry sex with jyushi and kara? (Separate of course
Just a heads up, guys, I'm gonna tag the naughty ones as n/s/f/w
Jyushi
You wouldn't think it, but Jyushi seems to like angry sex quite a bit. Things are more chaotic and heated. So much so that it allows him to let loose a little more.
After the first jarring moment of you screaming at him and then suddenly on top of him and pawing at his clothes, demanding that you both release your frustrations, he is more than willing to oblige. It seems that his (y/n) also had a more chaotic darker side to them.
If you are topping, he instantly goes into bratty sub mode. Teasing you and poking fun, purposfully getting under your skin more and more so you'll quicken your pace or ride him harder.
If he's topping, good luck walking the next day.
This man will relentlessly pound into you till you are mush.
He'll tell you to beg or poke fun at how much you're enjoying this just to fluster you. He'll make a game out of it and see who can last the longest before one of you gives up.
He doesnt mind you getting physically rough with him (ie. Clawing, pulling hair, ect.) But will not do so to you at the risk of hurting you.
Kara
Very rarely does Karamatsu get so frustrated at you that it instantly evolves into fucking. When you're upset, he's upset and will do whatever it takes to absolve the situation.
However there are those rare moments after he gets so worked up and doesnt know where to expel his anger that he just pins you to the wall and starts kissing you out of passion.
Seeing your furrowed brow, your intense eye contact, and flustered cheeks just did too much to him.
He prefers to take things orally at first, raising you up, wrapping your legs around his head, and just burying his face between your legs, unleashing his wrath on the center of your body.
He gets you to the point where you are practically begging for mercy, piercing you with that intense stare the whole time. Making you too physically weak to take control.
Once he's done with you that way, he turns you around and starts railing you.
And all of this happens without a single word from him, completely different from his normal endless rambling during love making. That's how you know he's mad.
Dont be afraid of teasing him about it. Despite how mad he might seem, he secretly likes it~

The call of the sea (1/2)
You loved being by the seaside.
As long as you could remember you always tried to make an effort to visit the ocean any chance you got. Your home was just barely a 20 minute walk away so it wasn't too out of the way. Many hours would be spent walking along the shore, picking up seashells and feeling the waves splash gently against your legs. Subconsciously humming a soothing tune you knew from a long time ago, almost out of habit. The sun glistened beautifully off the light blue of the water. The sweet ocean breeze blew all your worries away, if only for a little while. This was the place you came to escape from the busy life awaiting you back on land. This was your haven.
You would stay at least till sundown, when it was that dreadful time to leave. Though, you didn't despair too much. Your bedroom had a wonderful view of the ocean. Though not as beautiful as it is up close, it was like always seeing an old friend or lover off in the distance. Reminding you that they are never truly gone and that they are with you always. Still, your heart longed for it and wished you could be so much closer.
At night you would dream of the sea. You would lay in bed with your window open and listen to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore till you fell asleep. There you would return to the ocean.
Walking along it as you normally would. The waves splashing against your legs. The sand soft beneath your feet. And the cool breeze blowing around you.
But you were never alone.
You always felt it. A warm presence walking beside you. And a peaceful hymn played around you. A deep, gentle voice sang to you in a language you didn't understand but it felt so familiar. This was the song you'd hum whenever you visited the sea. Try as you might, you could never sing the words right. You would reach the end of the shore and the presence would leave you. This is where the dream would usually end.
Tonight, however, the strangest thing happened...
When you reached the end of the shore, the presence stayed beside you. The sky grew darker and the sea stilled. But the presence kept singing. You looked out at the ocean, now a vast endless sea of black. And the waves started pooling around your ankles as though the water was rising, beckoned you to walk further into the sea. A gentle hand laid on your shoulder and seemed to start leading you into the oily blackness.
You couldn't resist. You couldn't move. The voice was so soothing. So calm. The presence held you in such a loving embrace...
"C̷̝̣̼̩̥̿̍̂̀̈́̕ ò̵͎̫̬͐̂̈͝ṁ̶̧͖͖̘͙͈̬̬̻͓͇̗̥̾̒͑͗̀͌͘̚͝ e̷͙͛̃͐̿̒͝͠ ̶̛̹̏̓̐̈́́ẇ̵̡̧̧̛̯͉̜̲͓̜̳͓̠̆̐̃̽́͒̓́̈̊͊͝͝ͅì̴̛̛͇͈̃̔̉͜͜t̶̖͖̝̼̤͓̋̌̿͐̈̆̔̈́̆͐͝h̵̬͕̩͇̘̪̗͚̹̍͐̆͑̓̃͝ ̷̧̻̣̯̣̭̬̰̭͕̺̹͓̉̆̃ͅm̵̦͙̝̹͌́̽́̏̌̈̈́͐̆̕͝͝ ẽ̸̡̞̤͔̂̔̈́͠͝~"
You opened your mouth to speak.
"S̸̡͖̥̬͚͔̪̅͂̀̃̆͒͘̚̕ţ̵̘̭͉̞̘̰̲͚̪̖̖̅͊͑̂̏͝ą̷̛̺̜̐̃̈̈̚ y̸̳͓̜̟̞͇̘͍̤̗̲̍͑̊̾̀͒̀̔̽͝ ̸̨̱̩͈̭̜̻̩̊̀̿͘ͅh̷͈̬̽̈́̈́͑͘͝ ȩ̵̪͕̺̣̰̲̙̪̞̦̘̞͔̈́̂̉r̷̛͎̊̍̈́̒̏̋̅̎͂̃̈̔͝͝ȅ̴̢̛̬̥̽̈̍̀͋̚͝ ̵̡̛͚̟͎̟͔̰̤̤̼̝̳̃͂̈́͜͝͠ͅͅw̴̨̧̛͎̘͖̪̱̭̹̠̺͆͌͆̿͛̍͐͋͗͗̍̓͘͘ͅi̵͈̝̞̖̜͊̇̒ţ̸̹͚̗̗͈̹͔̊͌̔̔̓̎h̷̲͚̺̰͚͂̌̾̿̈́̉̀͒͐͋͝ ̴̧̧̥̝͖͍͔̍͂͑̃̔͛̇̅͂̀̆͌͝͠ m̸̢̧̧̡̮̲̲͓̝̗̪͖̬̾̓͌̂̑̏͛̊͒̓̕̚͠ ȩ̴̡̯͎͔͙̭̗̟͙͍̻̝̭̖͑͑̊̈́͋̈́͒̀́̎̔̃̇"
The black water filled your mouth. You couldn’t say anything. then...
“C̷̨̝͉̩̠̬͙̩̘͚̀́͌́̃̈͐̈́͌o̷̢͉̜͊͌̀̊͌̎̿̓́̇͛̔̕ m̷̢̤̤̹͈̜̠͎̺̰̬̲͕͖͗̒͋̀́̃̚͝ͅe̴̞͕̜͖̩̗̭̯͑͆̈́̓̂͂̃̂͋̂̕̕ ̸̢̖͙͈̠͔̖͉̤́͒͋̈́͗͘͘ḫ̷̞̤͇̲̪͍̀͊̐͒͛̓̏͑̒̋͋ o̷̱̭̠̫͔̮̞̪̗̭̠̰̱͋̔͊͐͝m̵͕̎͛̋̕̕ë̷͔̻̄̏͆͌̃͝”
Nothing.
You awoke with a deep gasp. Shooting up in your bed in a cold sweat. You ran your hands over your arms. You could still feel the black water surrounding you. The feeling of your legs being swept out from under you. And that... thing. The source of the singing that stood behind you. Holding you like a lover. whispering its sweet song in your ear and leading you... somewhere familiar.
The sound of your window clattering against the side of the house shook you from your thoughts. Getting up, you rushed over to the window and closed it. you looked out at the ocean and you felt your heart fall to your stomach. it wasn't raging as it usually did. It was still and black. Just as it was in your dream.
Ever since then, your visits to the ocean had been a bit sparse, at least during the night. You knew it was just a dream but it just seemed so vivid. So clear. The presence felt so real.
So familiar...
The nights that followed, the sea remained still. You no longer heard the sound of the waves crashing against the shore as you usually did. It was an eerie calm. Unsettling.
Your dreams were nothing like that night. Instead, now you were surrounded by blackness, feeling like you were floating. And that singing... The source of which was holding you again, as it always did. It was warm and protective. You know you felt this before. This embrace. It’s... arms(?) seemed to wrap around you, holding you tightly as it sang that song ever so sweetly to you. You yearned to turn your head and look at who... or what it was. But you would always wake just before you could catch a glimpse.
Today it was so warm and sunny as you looked out at the vast ocean. The breeze blew your hair away from your face and filled your lungs. The waves splashed against your legs and rolled back into the ocean. The seagulls chirped happily above you. It was like any normal day.
But tonight you knew you weren’t going to dream of the sea.
Instead, you were going to come back to it. Once the sun falls and the sea stills. You were going to come back and sing to the ocean.
And you were going to see an old friend.

Every night, ever since you started your study of the wildlife in this jungle, you have found different trinkets and gifts that seem to have been left for you around your camp.
It seemed like every morning you would find several pieces of jewelry outside of your tent, a shiny crystal left in your cooking pan, a flower crown made from the most exotic and beautiful looking flowers you've ever seen.
It was odd. Where were these 'gifts' coming from? You were by yourself out here and the closest people were in a town about a three days' walk from here, and in your time here you've yet to see any of the wild life take any interest in such things. So to say you were a tad uneasy about these suddenly appearing in your camp was a bit of an understatement.
Nevertheless, you couldn't help but smile and thought it a bit cute. Just the idea of someone going out of their way to leave you such lavishing gifts was very adorable and gave you a sense of company in a weird way. You felt a little less alone out here.
This morning you woke to a beautiful gold necklace with a blue gemstone. A warm smile came to your lips and you picked up the gift, wiping the dirt from it and taking it over to your workstation to fully clean it as you did with the others. As you washed it, What you noticed too was how the crystals and the gems in the jewelry would typically be blue. Who ever was leaving you these must've favored the color. Youd have to remember that if you were ever given the opportunity to give s gift yourself to this mystery admirer. And they certainly had an eye for beautiful things.
After you finished cleaning the jewelry, you took it over to a small box you left the gifts in and put it inside, smiling down at it one last time before stowing it away.
You hoped to be able to meet this person to thank them. Or, at the very least, you hoped they were well, and knew that you appreciated the thought.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°
Karamatsu watched from the trees as you gently and methodically ran your hands over the small shiny jewel beneath the water. He leaned as forward as he could so he could watch you, doing well not to snap any branches or make any noise that would startle you. He watched with awe as you cleaned it and returned the trinket to its former glory. He would have to remember to do that the next time he brought you something.
When you finished, he watched with hopeful eyes as you lifted the jewel up so that the sun would reflect off of it. Making it shine brilliantly in the glow. He caught the sparkle in your beautiful eyes and he practically swooned.
Never before had he encountered such a creature as you who had him both completely entranced and smitten. You were not a Naga like him or his brothers. You were bipedal, but you had the same torso and upper body like him. It was odd... but in you he felt a deep attraction that he couldn't get rid of. A need to court you he thought he felt only towards his kind...
But to approach you was another story. He had no idea how you would react. Did you speak the same language? Were you hostile? Did you already have a mate? You were alone so he wanted to assume not but at the same time he didn't want to risk getting into a scuffle.
All these questions hung heavy in his mind and he did the first thing his mind came to. Gifts. It was all he knew to do without being too direct with his courting. If you accepted the gifts then it would be a success.
However.. you didn't seem to be accepting any of the gifts he was leaving you. You would pick them up, clean them, and put them in a box that you would tuck away. Never touched again. It saddened him everytime. And when you did the same thing this time, his heart fell and he looked practically defeated. What was he doing wrong? Did you not like the jewelry? The flowers? Did you prefer cloth or silk? Karamatsu clutched the tree tightly as he looked down at the ground, dejected. Perhaps, it was all futile. You had clearly no interest in his favor and maybe he should just move on.
Until he heard that beautiful hum of yours. The same melodic tune you would sing to yourself whenever to started to cook with your strange metal devices. It was like angel-song to his ears... no, he couldn't give up now. He would continue to do whatever it took to gain your approval. Whether he had to fight off another potential suitor or move an entire mountain for you. He would do it.
However, mating season was fast approaching. So this next attempt might have to be a little more direct than the others...

_____
It was a quarter till one in the morning when your tired eyes fluttered open. An anxious flutter in your stomach rousing you from your sleep for what seemed like the millionth time.
You moved your hand over the bed space next to you where your husband should be laying. But it was empty. A sad sigh left your lips. Of course. You sat up in bed and glanced at the clock. Karamatsu would be home soon. But still, you hated these nights when he patrolled so late. You couldn’t be prouder of your husband. He kept the streets safe and helped people when they needed it. But after years of sleeping in his arms every night, getting used to sleeping alone again seemed nearly impossible at times. Some nights you could just bare it. Finding ways to drift off to sleep undisturbed through tea or reading, only to find yourself in karamatsu’s arms in the morning. And then there were nights like this, where you just couldn’t keep your eyes shut and your stomach unknotted. Your body simply wouldnt give you any peace until it was wrapped in your lover’s arms.
You gave a frustrated groan and got out of bed to go get some chamomile tea from the kitchen and to grab a book from the bookshelf. Hoping maybe that would help you get some rest. Otherwise, you were going to be in for a long night.
You got your kettle ready and started rummaging around for your containers of tea.You didn’t even hear the front door open and close. Nor did you know that your very beloved was watching you clumsily fish through the cabinets. You gave a startled gasp when you were suddenly grabbed from behind and pulled against a warm body. Arms wrapping around your middle.Your head whipped around. Karamatsu looked back at you with a smirk. Though you couldn’t see his eyes behind his dark aviators, you just knew there was a mischievous glint in them. A sigh of relief and happiness left your lips and you turned in his arms to return his embrace.Lovingly, he nuzzled his face into your neck which made you shiver.
“Exscuse me, my dear, I’m afraid I must take you into custody. You see,“ He breathed against your skin and trailed his finger tips up your sides, over your bare arms, to your shoulders where he placed a chaste kiss. “You’ve stolen my heart. I must ask that you return it to me at once.”
Your breath hitched and you turned your head which, unknowingly to you, would give him better access to your neck. Access he gladly took the opportunity to seize with his lips. “It’s late, sweetheart.” You said breathlessly. “You should go to bed.”
He tsked softly in your ear. “Hmm… you’re not being very compliant, my dear. It seems I’ll have to use excessive force.”
Karamatsu hoisted you up and set you on the counter to take you into a passionate kiss you were not expecting. Nevertheless, you happily returned it. You wrapped your legs around his middle and clutched his shoulders. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close. You let yourself practically melt into the kiss and his strong embrace.
It didnt take too long for the the two of you to start becoming more fervent with your kiss. You had missed him so bad you wanted to meld your lips into his. And it didn’t help that he looked so damn good in his uniform. His hands soon found themselves at the hem of your sleeping gown. A warm hand sliding up your thigh to touch the center of your body. You moaned against his lips the second his fingers brushed your sex. A hum of interest lulled in Karamatsu’s throat as he noted the lack of clothing and slipped a finger inside you before you could reply. A blissful gasp and your grip on his shoulders tightened. Oh, how you missed his touch…
“My love,” he said against your lips, slowly curling and swirling his finger around your walls as he spoke in a husky baritone. There was a mix of sadness and desire behind it. “I’m so sorry for leaving you wanting and alone… let me make it up to you.”
You didnt protest as he unbuckled his belt, dropping his black pants to the ground with a thunk! Due to all of his equipment and pushed your panties aside. You waiting in giddy anticipation as he prepared to enter you. And once he did, You both simultaneously moaned at the union. Taking hold of your hips, he started to move against you as if savoring every inch. Just feeling your body on his and relishing in the pleasure both of you were recieving. You wrapped your hands around his neck and he began at a steady pace.
He kissed you passionately. His tongue danced with yours. His moans taking on a higher tone as he slowly lost composure over himself because of you. He pulled away from your lips so he could bury his lips into your neck, kissing the sensitive skin just below your ear and whispering words of praise and apology for leaving you alone for so long.
“K-Kara-!” You squeaked out as Karamatsu took you faster now. His desire for you mounting and his body demanding more of you. He was nearing the end of his rope and so were you.
“Huff… I-I love you, (y/n)… G-Gods how I love you..” He whimpered into your neck as he quickened his pace. Striking you deep and desperately. There was nothing you could do but just let karamatsu take control as you started to feel your climax nearing.
Karamatsu held you tightly against him as you finally reached your paradise. Your now sensitive body shook against his as he too sought out release. His arms tightened around you and his lips found yours. He hummed deep and low against your lips as his orgasm claimed him.
The two of you stayed there in each other’s arms for a good while. Just relishing in the warmth of one another. Small kisses being littered across cheeks and lips. A handsome smile graced his face and he stroked your cheek with his gloved thumb. His eyes gazing at you lovingly.
“Shall I escort my prisoner to her bed?” He asked.
You smiled and nodded, wrapping your arms around him, allowing him to pick you up bridal style.
“however, once we get into bed, then you’ll be my prisoner.” You said as you nuzzled into his chest.
He lifted a brow. “Oh? How’s that?”
“Because I’m going to hold onto you so tight you’ll never be able to leave me again.”
He chuckled and placed a kiss on your head. “Then I don’t think I’d mind being under your custody, my love.”

~Pride and joy~
A Dad!Karamatsu fic
Lil bit o’ angst below the cut.
“Daddy, are you crying?”
Karamatsu snapped his head up from his hands to look at the living room entry way where the small voice came from. There stood his young daughter, clutching her teddy bear to her small form as she looked at her father with a look of worry on her face. Karamatsu quickly wiped at the tears in his eyes and smiled as if everything was okay. However, the redness in his eyes and sniffling nose told her otherwise.
“Ah! what are you doing out of bed, princess? Did you have a bad dream?” He asked.
She shook her head and looked down at the floor as she twiddled her fingers nervously. She moved to stand by her fathers side, placing a small hand on his arm. Gently petting him sympathetically.
“Are you crying because mommy left?” She asked.
Karamatsu swallowed the lump in his throat. Oh boy, he was afraid of this. She heard your guys’ argument after dinner just as he came back from putting her to bed. She got up to use the potty. But as she was walking back towards her bedroom, she heard angry voices from the kitchen. Being the curious child she was, she poked her head around the corner.
It all started with a simple question: ’how did the job hunt go?’ Karamatsu still felt the shame that swept over him when he had to admit to you that it, once again, ended in failure. You broke down. The stress of having three mouths to feed, having to go to work practically every day to pay your bills, and also having to take on the role of a young parent all came crashing down on you. Karamatsu could do nothing to assuage your sorrow, which slowly turned into anger. He knew you were upset and didn’t want to make it worse… but when you accused him of not being committed to this family, he snapped back. Eventually, it devolved into a pathetic shouting match until you retreated Into the bedroom. After taking a moment to calm down, Karamatsu joined you. There, you both calmly agreed that maybe it would be best to take some time apart. No more than a week. Karamatsu wasn’t crazy about it… but you deserved a break. The second you closed the door behind you, Karamatsu planted himself on the couch, head in hands, and unable to stop his tears from finally flowing. Failure and shame enveloping his heart.
To make matters worse, he never wanted his own daughter to see him like this. She was his princess and he was supposed to be her strong, brave king who would always be there to dry her tears and protect her from the harsh reality that you two had to deal with. And here she was trying to dry his tears and make him feel better. Karamatsu picked her up to sit her on his lap and he held her close.
“Yes, angel.” He sighed, gently rocking her as he laid his cheek on her head. “I miss her dearly.”
She pressed her face closer to her bear and kept her voice at a whisper as if she were about to admit a crime.
“Daddy? Did I make mommy leave?”
He looked contrite. He pulled back to look into her eyes. “Heavens no, sweetheart! Why on earth would you think that?”
Her bottom lip quivered as her tears started falling over her cheeks. Karamatsu felt his heart break in two. He hated seeing her cry.
“B-Because I was really bad today.” She clutched her teddy bear tighter as she started shaking in his arms. “I-I didn’t clean my room like mommy told me to… a-and I cried about not getting dessert…”
Karamatsu gave a sad sigh and rocked his innocent child back and forth as she gently wept into her teddy bear. Soothing her with kisses atop her head as he ran a hand through her hair. The fact that she blamed herself for this made him feel nine kinds of awful. How was he supposed to make this better? He couldn’t exactly go into all the details of the argument. He couldn’t tell her about the finances, bills, and his never ending struggle to find a job. She had no concept of adult responsibility. It would all go right over her little head. When she finally started to calm down, he pulled back to look at her again.
“Sweet pea, you didn’t do anything wrong.” He reassured her as he wiped her eyes with his thumb. “Mommy… She does so much for us doesn’t she?” He earned a little nod. “Well, mommy is only one person. And she has to take care of three people all by herself. As amazing as mommy is, that’s a lot of work for one person to do. So, she’s just taking a well-deserved vacation for a little while.”
Your daughter sniffled and nodded as she seemed to understand. “S-So, she’s not going away forever?”
He smiled at her as he smoothed her hair down. “Of course not, sweet pea.”
“Do you still love mommy even though she yelled at you?” She asked.
He gave a soft chuckle. “Yes I do. And nothing will ever change that.” He smiled at her. “And you know mommy and daddy love you more than anything in the world, right?”
Her smile matched his. “Yes, daddy.”
Karamatsu kissed her forehead and carried her to her bedroom where he laid her down on the bed and tucked her in.
“How about we go see mommy at work tomorrow and we can all go out for lunch?” He asked as he turned her lights down. “It’ll be our treat to her.”
She smiled up at him sleepily. “Can we get her some of her favorite flowers too?”
He nodded with a chuckle. She seems to have picked up his habit of solving every problem under the sun with flowers. She was his daughter, after all. “I think she’d really like that, princess.”
He placed a kiss atop her head and started to leave, turning back to look at his daughter as she rested peacefully In her bed. It was hard for the two of you. You, with all of the responsibility of taking care of the family and him, trying desperately to find a job to help take that weight off you. But, even on days like this where he feels like a total failure, just looking at his little angel, his pride and joy… it filled him with the confidence to keep going. He swore to himself that by week’s end, neither of you would want for anything ever again.
He intended to give his angels the world and stars and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t keep trying.
