This isn't part of a larger story or anything, it just popped into my head so I wrote it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The cries of an unhappy infant echoed through the small office, and Kara resisted the urge to bang her head on her desk. "Shh, sweetheart, please," she begged, running a finger down her son's teary cheek. "Mama needs to get some work done..."

She'd tried everything, fed him, burped him, changed him even though his diaper had already been clean, but nothing worked. It seemed her son didn't like his mother's attention being on anything but him.

Kara sighed and gave up, closing her laptop. She reached over and grasped the edge of the baby carrier, gently rocking it back and forth. "How about I tell you a story? Would you like that?"

His crying slowed and he looked up at her with wide tearful eyes, a tiny lip trembling in a devastating pout. Kara chuckled.

"Once upon a time," she began softly, "there was a little hero who fell in love with a prince from a faraway land." A small smile curved her lips as memories trickled through her mind. "And he loved her, too, and for a while they were very happy.

"But then one day," Kara's tone grew somber, "evil forces struck, and took the little hero's prince away from her. When he finally found his way back, it was too late, and there were people who needed his help, so he couldn't stay."

The baby let out a sad little whimper, sensing his mother's melancholy.

"But," Kara continued, infusing some cheerfulness back into her voice, "even though the little hero was sad and missed her prince, she knew that everything would be okay. Because she had the sweetest little boy," she lifted him up and into her arms with a contented sigh, "in the world, to keep her company." Kara giggled as her son reached up with his little hands to play with her hair, tugging at it. "The end."

Not really, though, because we all know Mon would be back eventually :)

P.S: I DO still love karamel but outside of the CW show I've also always loved KaraDox. I'm a MULTISHIPPER. I can enjoy both from the different medias they're featured in.
