A short list of the in-world languages my characters speak because I keep forgetting.

Argus: Fluent in Escan. Used to be fluent in Oskyi but his skills have degraded from years of non-use. He can still write/read letters in Oskyi with minimal help. 

Leo: Fluent in Oskyi & Letrossi. Speaks Escan well but with some minor difficulty. Knows enough to get by in Geg, Ardunese, and Highlander Geg.

Mel: Fluent in Letrossi. Conversational in Escan. Knows a little Oskyi.  

Hartanti: Fluent in Escan, Yenesh, Oskyi, Sau, & Ardunese. Knows enough to get by in Kellish, Geg, Highlander Geg, and a handful of the Karric and Riemthai languages. 

Zurina: Fluent in Escan. Knows enough to get by in Oskyi, Ardunese, & Ceoye. 

#I stuck with the pov characters #tss trilogy #I always wonder if Argus is not so much of an asshole that he would speak to Leo in Oskyi instead #because even the Escan Leo speaks is the Tadrune-dialect and there are some differences from how it's spoken in Graza/the court language #Hartanti spoke Yenesh and Sau in her teen years #She learned Escan while leaving in Theassau/when the Escana influence first became relevant #and then learned the other major languages for the demands of her job #Just like Escan is now spoken in a lot of western countries as well as in the Rhine and in colonies #Oskyi is spoken almost everywhere in the East #and Ardunese is helpful for religious matters #she also learned the Karric and Riemthai languages (vaguely) from being around those girls when she was younger #so Hartanti speaks the most languages #good for her #I did not include languages they know a handful of words in #Because Leo at least knows curse words and how to introduce himself in a ton #there are too many goddamn languages in my world #This is also why I never write about Mel being in Graza #no one speaks his language!

Jedi Knight Tobirama verse: Part 1 of 2 of Meeting the Families: Meet the Siblings

Izuna glanced at his brother as Madara swore, pressing his back to the rock they were using as cover.

“Where the kriff is our backup?” the elder demanded.

Izuna glanced around the battlefield as Akira looked grim.

“I saw Ric go down, but I didn’t see Karric. I don’t know if anything even got sent out,” Izuna’s younger brother told him.

Izuna’s gaze landed on a spot in the distance, a speeder rushing towards them. He zoomed in on the form astride it and gave a fierce grin at the pale from.

His brothers noticed his gaze.

“Kriff, not more of them,” Akiko swore, pointing her blaster.

Izuna pushed the blaster down, “that’s our reinforcement.”

The speeder came to a stop by them and the recently knighted Tobirama Vel swung off.

“Honestly Izuna,” Tobirama said, faux irritated, “You don’t have to get in a firefight to see me.”

“Vod'ika, you know I only get you the best,” Izuna greeted him by gripping his forearm, “What are you even doing on this Sith Hell of a planet?”

“Family reunion. Dad decided the best thing to do was a planet where we’d definitely have to fight,” Tobirama said, glancing at the other four Mandalorians, 

“Who’re your friends?”

“My siblings. The one in red is Madara, Hoshi’s in black. The twins are in orange, but Akira is edged in green is Akira and gold is Akiko.”

Tobirama nodded, pulling back and bowing, “A pleasure to meet you all.”

Izuna grinned as he realized that Tobirama’s overtunic matched Izuna’s blue.

“Izuna, Tion'cuy? (Who’s that?)” Madara demanded.

“Udesii! (Calm down! Take it easy!),” Izuna tossed his head, “He’s my vod'ika, jetii (Jedi) Tobirama Vel. We’ve known each other for years, he’s dral verd (strong warrior).”

Tobirama dipped his head in acknowledgement.

Izuna turned back to the Jedi, “You said your family was here? Should we worry?”

Tobirama leveled a look at him, “Father is Butsuma Senju.”

“Right, silly question.”

Izuna’s siblings stared at that.

1. Which episode is your favorite? Why? ohhh man how can i pick just one? basically anything to do with the briarwoods/percy’s arc, specifically the initial attack on whitestone and the isle of glintshore. i’ve said it before but percy’s arc is just so narratively satisfying. 

another favorite is the dungeon crawl to get to raishan, bc it’s fuckin creepy. episodes with grog’s fights are always great, specifically round two with kern and the fight with grun.

also episode two or three or whichever it is where vox machina fails at being dwarves, between tibs’ johnny kraghammer and keyleth’s ohh hellloooo

2. Which episode is your least favorite? Why? hmmmmm not an episode in particular but i wasn’t fond of either pike or tary’s little arcs we got not too long ago. mostly i just felt like they were interludes that weren’t explored well? i mean i know that’s what they were and i get why they were done that way but still. 

3. Who is your favorite main player character? keyleth and vex. i’ve loved kiki since day one but man vex has grown on me. (…obviously)

4. Who is your favorite guest player character? all of them? zahra’s great for so many reasons, and tbh i rly actually like karric (or however you spell his name). i do think patrick rothfuss brings too much backstory and extra character stuff with him, but i actually rly like karric

honorable mention for matt’s kash impression bc it’s so spot on that i fucking lose it every single time

5. What storyline do you wish they’d explore more? …..i’m going to tentatively say tary, bc without getting into all the controversy surrounding his arc i think it could’ve been better if it were more fleshed out. if we maybe could’ve seen the resolution to tary’s arc rather than being told “oh i’m off to wildmount to finish Growing As A Person” which again, i get it but still.

Party after the Conclave

`Twas a week post the Conclave, when all through Whitestone, Every person was stirring, save those made only of bone. The decorations were hung, festivities felt by all. Meanwhile our heroes to gather in the great hall. The ladies spent ten hours in totum to prepare, Having awkward conversation about their men who’d be there. Vex’ahlia and Keyleth ‘tween chatter and preening, Cleared the air, no need for Allura intervening. Where they’d set to meet, the men tirelessly waited Even though using this cliché feels quite dated. Percy ascotted, receiving daggers from Vax, Aware of the deity with whom he’d made a pact. Grog, in tapestry, stood there for Pike, An excuse from Scanlan, who she doesn’t like. The last of them Gilmore, for Allura he waited, As her love, Kima, was thoroughly wasted. The pairings thus made, headed for the Great Hall For come eleven, started the ball. Cassandra greets them, Kynan close at her side, Seeing her, the crowd began to divide. The band soon struck up, with a livening sound The cheer, already present, grew quickly abound. Band led by the Shorthalts, combatting floutists. Post his mortum she ranted; he got the gist. Vex drags Percy center of the dance floor Whilst he longingly looks to the door. Grog joins, tossing Pike in the air. Like a father with a baby, sans mother’s glare. Vax’ildan spins round one young druid Her skirt dancing on air not fluid. Shaun and Allura pass by jumping around. On the dais stands Cass, currently crowned. She looks on, approving of all. Then one barbarian discovers the alcohol. Karric mentions a need to shake in the flavor, Then drinks deep, with fellow dragon slayers. The celebration now in full swing. No worry of what `morrows to bring. Jarret enters, seeking one gnome bard, Sneaking in suude, thus very on guard. He signals the small wannabe addict, The member of Vox Machina most hard to predict. Scanlan sees, then looks to his daughter, Thinking, “I’ve just helped four dragons to slaughter.” He excuses himself; Dr. Dra just grinning Sure, in some way, Scanlan was sinning. Jarret meets Scanlan, away in an empty chamber. The former not wanting to do another favor. Elsewhere in the castle, a black sphere spins, Watching and waiting, while they celebrate a win. Next time god slayers, I’m willing to bet, Sure as the DM ends, “Is it Thursday yet?” Piece background: I love this show because there is nothing else out there like it. Some of the things mentioned I want to happen, mainly that a certain someone lives. This was written after the episode when they finished off Raishan. To be clear about shipping, I don't ship Gilmore and Allura, but I don't see Kima doing formalwear again. I view Grog in this as something like a friend being dragged into it. Finally, I totaly ship Kynan and Cass: they're the same age, both have done shitty things for shitty people, and they try to put on a brave face when everything in the world is bringing them down.
