Sometimes it feels better, lighter even, but that feeling never lasts. Nothing ever lasts. Everything is like a flower and the moment I dare to let my gaze linger a little too long atop its petals, the flower wilts into nothing more than ash in the wind, gone and never to return, and I am left alone again with only the echoing of ghostly silent thoughts and hauntingly transparent memories of flickering lights and shadows and coldness. There’s not too much in life I regret. It’s not like I had passed up some grand opportunity to become something, someone, but it’s more like a devastating regret of not being able to connect to people like I can other things; no one truly knows who I am and what I do when the noises in my head become too loud or too silent. No one realizes that I am just a ticking time bomb, ready to collapse into myself like a dying star or burst at my seams, no one wants to realize that I will become another lost cause; I know I will be the cause of my own funeral, and yes I have already accepted that fact, but point being this - I am in pain.
