Oh boy do I have updates... I really should be packing lol but I guess I’m doing this instead. Don’t even know where to start. I had a really beautiful end to the block even though this whole situation with Boy felt so confusing and unresolved. Sexuality has been so on my mind lately (and on everyone else’s too). Over the weekend I had some amazing conversations with Ale about intimacy and expectations and vulnerability and anxiety, and I also got to catch up with Malone, and then I went to go to the goodbye party for the cornerstone space and I couldn’t find it and it was so cold and snowy and I was alone so I almost gave up and went home but I ran into Cole and Brandon, both of whom I used to be close with but am not anymore, and we went into the space together and it was so fun and sensorally exciting just like Meow Wolf, I was so impressed at what the students could do with the space, there was all this colored smoke and cool secret rooms and interactive displays and a fire, and then we went to this big structure you could climb on and I saw Kat and Yumiko on top of it, and I went with them to this room with tire swings and glow in the dark Tide and I swung from the tire swing from one end of the room to another, I felt amazing because swinging is my favorite sensation in the world, and a band was playing that Kat’s parter was singing in, and little Harry was there in his long overcoat, and I felt so free and nostalgic (I live for spaces like these, I want them in my life always). I was reminded why I love this school. Sometimes I worry that I come off as floaty and rude, when I’m at parties or social events I rarely stay with the people I come with especially now that I feel confident enough to be solo, I just drift towards whoever feels right, I crave floating around and being with all different kinds of people. Opening on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at Spoke Art Gallery’s San Francisco, California location is the exciting “Miyazaki Art Show” group exhibition (Costumes are encouraged for opening night!!).

A whimsical showcase of over fifty artists from around the world, “Miyazaki Art Show” celebrates the films of Japanese film-maker and animator Hayao Miyazaki. Taking inspiration from the Studio Ghibli director’s classic films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Ponyo to his lesser known work like The Wind Rises and Mr. Dough and the Egg Princess, each artist has created unique works inspired by Miyazaki’s imaginative universe.

Isa ang Filipino sa mga asignaturang paborito ko noon pa lamang. Siguro ay dahil mahilig akong magbasa at nagsusulat din ako ng mga tula kaya noong nalaman ko na mayroon kaming asignatura na “Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang Pilipino” ay labis akong natuwa dahil ang sakop ng mga aralin ay tungkol sa wikang Filipino at panitikan. Noong pinag-aralan namin ang kasaysayan ng wika at iba’t ibang teorya na iminungkahi ng mga lingguwistiko tungkol sa tungkulin at paggamit ng wika, roon ko lamang napagtanto na “Ah! Malalim rin pala talaga ang pag-aaral tungkol sa wika.” Hindi lamang ito isinasalita at ginagamit sa pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay. Bagkus, isa itong identidad natin bilang mamamayan ng isang bansa. Na isa itong simbolo ng kasaysayan at proseso ng wika nating nahubog dahil sa mga tao na ipinaglaban ang kahalagahan nito.

Kung pag-uusapan lang din ang wika at komunikasyon, naging masaya at kawili-wili ang bawat klase namin sa nasabing asignatura. Mayroong mga palaro at pa-premyo. Kung paano nakikipag-interak ang aming guro ay masigla at nakakahawa ang kaniyang ngiti. Nag-aaral kami at nagkakatuwaan din kaya ayos lang kahit na hindi pa ako nananalo sa isa sa mga palaro ni Miss Kat. Mahigit isang oras lamang nagtatagal ang klase namin at madalang pa na synchronous kami, ngunit sa maiikling oras na ‘yon kahit papaano ay nakakatanggal ng pagod at nakakalimutan ko na mayroon akong pino-problema. Dahil sa totoo lang, hindi talaga madali ang mag-aral sa isang learning set-up na hindi mo nakasanayan. Minsan pakiramdam ko ay nag-iisa ako at ang tanging naiisip ko na lamang ay ang pagpapasa ng mga gawain. Patapos pa lamang ang unang semestre ngunit pakiramdam ko ay sobrang dami na ang nangyari at mahabang panahon na ang nakalilipas.

Kung mayroon man akong napagtanto, iyon ay dapat mas gawin nating makabuluhan ang bawat araw na dumaraan. Naisip ko na marami tayong oras para sa problema kaya maglaan din tayo ng oras para sa paghihinga. Magbasa, magsulat, matuto, makinig ng mga kanta, makipag-usap sa mga mahal sa buhay, at magpasalamat sa bawat araw na ipinagkaloob sa atin. Gawin mo ang mga bagay na sa tingin mo ay makakatulong para sa iyong pisikal na kalusugan at mental health dahil kailangan mo ring huminga upang makapagpatuloy. Pahalagahan natin ang mga maliliit na bagay, mga ngiti at tawang natatanggap at naibibigay, mga pagsubok na nalagpasan, at ang ating mga sarili na patuloy na lumalaban. Ito ang magsisilbing buwan at mga bituin sa ating gabi na akala natin ay wala nang katapusan. Hindi ko na masyadong pinalungkot ang blog ko dahil gusto ko mabigyan kayo ng motibasyon kahit papaano. Hindi rin ako marunong magpatawa kaya dito ko na tatapusin.
