Love how Anthony would preface his particularly whore-ish behavior with an “I am a gentleman” like ok sir we believe you.

The bunkhouse is silent after a festive night. All the lights out, except for the one on Y/N’s bedside table. Sleep might have come limited the past week, but she isn’t ready to close her eyes just yet. The adventurous trail, combined with the unexpected news about her qualification has her riled up with excitement.
Not sure what to do with this new found energy, she has taken out one of her notebooks, which is filled with scrabbles. She won State Championships with a relatively simple floorplan, not wanting to overshoot, but if she wants to leave an impression with the judges at Congress, she needs to step up her game. Combinations between exercises will push up her degree of difficulty, so she decided to change a few lines. Working on her freestyle tonight wasn’t entirely according to plan, but who knows, maybe the tequila and beer will add some creativity.
She has changed into a comfortable tank top and a pair of shorts, the soft fabric a contrast to the sandy denim she’s been clad in the past days. The temperature is comfortably warm, early October in Arizona much more like summer compared to the autumn days she’s used to in Maine.
Strangely, she hasn’t been homesick for Freeport at all. She misses her mom and dad, her brothers, but after her time living on campus, she’s used to being away from family. Her father travels a lot for work, and Jaime, her older brother by three years, moved to the other side of the country straight out of the Police Academy, fighting crime in Los Angeles these days. Middle kid Jackson bought a house in Boston and is busy with his real estate firm, while her oldest brother, Jeff and his wife are expecting their first child. Y/N wouldn’t say they have grown apart, but now that she and her siblings don’t share a house anymore, things have changed. They’ve spread their wings, built a life for themselves.
She checks her phone when a message from Jaime pops up, sending her a selfie in which he shows off his muscles, holding up a fist. ‘Show them what you’re made of! You’re gonna ace that ride!’ he added in the caption. She closes the text, scrolling down the list of messages from family and friends, until she finds one from Jeffrey, which is a little more lengthy. ‘Mom said I had to wait until Dad reached you, so I hope you got the news by now, otherwise I’m in trouble. Congratulations, Sis. You worked so hard for this. I’m really proud of you, and I know Grandpa will be cheering you on from above. You’re already a champion.’ She smiles at the sweet words; she should really give him a call next week.
Redirecting her attention to the notebook in her lap, she picks up her pen, sketches a new line, crosses it and bites on the pen cap, pondering. Marcel, her trainer at the Freeport Equestrian Center, helped her with the first version. She could get in touch with him tomorrow, she’s sure he will be willing to shed a light on what she has so far. Distance will be an issue, though, and with time being of the essence since it’s only fifteen days before they head towards Columbus, Ohio, where Congress is held, she has to take a different approach.
What if she asks Dean to help her with the freestyle, or even to come with her to the show? He has helped her a couple of times during training and she appreciates his approach. His suggestions and tips paid off; his methods really seemed to work for both her and Meadow. The head wrangler knows Y/N and her horse well enough to offer advice in bringing out their best qualities, she just hopes he’s up for it. After some drinks, Dean didn’t stick around long. When she asked Jo where he went, she said Dean offered to do the final feeding round. Y/N thought about following him, but didn’t want to draw attention from the rest of the crew; them both gone would’ve raised suspicion and she doesn’t want to put him in the spot of having to explain himself.
When Y/N noticed his absence, her stomach made an unpleasant flip. The uneasy sensation remained the rest of the evening, not evident, but brewing nonetheless, and it had nothing to do with the alcohol. She wonders if something has changed, maybe. That coming home to the ranch caused Dean to reconsider. Why else would he distance himself?
Doubtful, she takes a breath, her mind going places she’d rather not be. Still missing a steady foundation for them to start building a relationship on, doubt surfaces again. Deep down she’s scared that the cowboy might back out, which would cause heartbreak she’s not sure she can handle. She cares too much already, she’s too far gone. Y/N is passing the station of just being in love with Dean; it’s growing into something even more.
Before her thoughts can spiral further, there’s a soft knock on the door. The kind that is soft enough to not wake her had she been sleeping, but loud enough for her to hear if she wasn’t. She slides out of bed, rises to her bare feet, careful not to bump her head against the top bunk like she has so many times already, and crosses her room. When she opens the door, she finds the man who has been on her mind on the other side, locking his green eyes on her. She’s pleasantly surprised to see him with it being past 11 PM already; she expected him to be in bed long ago after the exhausting past few days.      “Hey, what are you doing u--”
He doesn’t let her finish and bridges the few feet between them, cupping her face with both hands and pulling her into a kiss. After the initial shock, which only lasts a fraction of a second, he can feel her lashes brush against his skin as she closes her eyes and melts into him, allowing him to deepen the connection. Her response takes away the restlessness that weighed on his chest like a chunk of concrete, ever since the thought of her leaving arose.
They step into her room far enough for Dean to kick the door shut, preventing possible eavesdroppers from tuning in, his mouth never leaving hers. Instinctively, her arms snake around his torso, tracing the lines of his strong back through the fabric of his shirt. There’s a desperation in his touch that’s new to her, the way he longs for this connection is different. Eventually, he breaks the kiss and she studies him when he rests his forehead against hers. His eyes stay closed for a little longer, holding on to the moment while his hands slip from her face.
He didn’t want to steal a few seconds while surrounded by the crew, he didn’t want to get in line to give her a quick hug or a peck on the cheek. No, he needed to be with her, just the two of them without restrictions.
“What was that for?” she wonders.      “Just wanted to congratulate you.” He smiles, trying to mask his concern, and sweetly presses his lips on hers again. “Personally.” And again. “Privately.” And again.      She giggles, triggering him to chuckle as well. He moves his head back to take her in.      “Congratulations, Yankee,” he says, genuine. “You earned it.”      “Thank you,” she smiles, still slightly confused. “Where’d you go earlier?”      “Someone had to feed those poor starving animals,” he jokes. “And since Bobby already had a few whiskies, and Garth is an absolute light weight, I took one for the team.”
He was quick to take the final feeding round, not just because he was the last man standing. Doing one last check, giving the horses their hay for the night, making sure the stables are shut properly, locking up the tackroom and the cafeteria and eventually the large barn doors after switching off the lights; it offers him peace of mind. It’s a daily routine, a recurring series of actions, done so 365 days a year. Ensuring everything is exactly the way it’s supposed to be in the place where he lives and works, grounds him when he’s feeling restless. It gives him a moment alone, the horses his only company, allowing him to think things over and collect himself again. Tonight was no different, because even though he was relieved Y/N’s father wasn’t the bearer of bad news, Dean felt disturbed with his initial response. For a good few minutes, he thought he was going to lose her, and the anxiety it surfaced was much more intense than he anticipated.
Y/N keeps watching him as the cowboy is lost in thought. He’s trying to be funny and cute, but that’s not all there is to it; his eyes tell a different story. He kissed her a little too fierce, pulled her in a little too tight. Something is bothering him, and although she doesn’t want to force him to talk, she needs to know what it is before she loses her mind herself.      “What’s wrong, Dean?” she asks, softly, moving her hands up his chest.      “It’s nothin’,” he assures, shaking his head.
But when the concern remains evident in her expression, he sighs. He doesn’t want her to worry, or think it’s something she’s done. If anything, she’s been absolutely perfect. God, she’s so patient. Even though she needs him, she offers him space. Expressing how he feels might be terrifying, it’s about time he’s fair with the woman who’s willing to wait.      “It’s just that, uh - when your dad called, he… he sounded pretty serious,” Dean admits, looking down. “I thought something might have happened with your folks or somethin’, and that you...”      He pauses, struggling, but Y/N knows enough.      “You thought Dad was going to tell me to come back,” she realizes.
Suddenly his behavior makes so much more sense. His complete change of demeanor when he approached her table in the saloon after receiving the call, him seeming as nervous as she was when she picked up the phone. The sigh of relief when she told him and Jo the great news, his disappearance from the celebration at the saloon. Dean thought he was going to lose her, and apparently it scared him. Y/N is as stunned by the realization, as she is by the confirming nod he gives her.
“Well - I mean - it could’ve been, right?” he says, shrugging his shoulders almost apologetically, like he’s not allowed to be worried about a presumption as such.      “I’m twenty-four, Dean. I’m not going anywhere unless I want to,” she reminds him, hoping to offer him some consolation.      “Glad to hear it,” he responds, his hands moving to her waist as he restores eye contact. “‘cause I’d hate to see you go.”
Heartfelt, the beautiful girl in his arms smiles. She seems to understand the weight of his words, because she crosses her wrists behind his head and urges him to come closer. Dean’s heart swells in his chest when she brushes her lips against his, tentatively at first. His mind calms, the nerves subsiding. Not only is she staying, she also understands what’s going on in his head, and in a strange and unexpected way, it’s kind of liberating. Not having to pretend and put on a mask, not having to convince anyone that everything is fine. He’s gotten so used to telling people he’s okay, the words to express himself prove to be hard to grasp. Who knows, maybe one day he’ll get the hang of it.

Dean’s mind goes blank when she deepens the kiss, swiping her tongue against his bottom lip. Her arms close around his neck a little tighter, holding him so close he can feel the warmth coming from her skin. She smells amazing, the scent of her shampoo still lingering in her hair, a sweet smell of a flower he can’t name. He presses his fingertips into her flesh, carefully shifting them under the hem of her tank top, even though he knows very well that he shouldn’t. It isn’t going to take long before he will not be able to stop himself.
She feels him trace her sides, rolling up the fabric of her top as he does so. Normally she would be self-conscious about it, but when she parts from him when running out of air, all she sees in his eyes is adoration and want. Both seem to be waiting for each other, unsure if they should take this further. Afterall, considering what they agreed on, this would be a poor execution of taking things slow.
Without breaking away from her gaze, his left hand travels down, following the curves of her hips. He adds pressure, gently pulling her against him. What she feels through the denim of his jeans has her eyes grow wide. A delightful tension starts to tangle up in her stomach, sinking deeper. Somewhat surprised that she apparently has this effect on him, she takes in a shuddering breath, gazing deep into his eyes. God, she wants to go there, but is he willing to as well?      “Are you sure?” she checks with him.      Dean doesn’t have to think twice and nods. To hell with it, he’s not going to waste another second.      “I want you,” he breathes, his voice husky.
It’s all she’s ever wanted to hear him say. It might not be the confirmation of their relationship she’s been hoping to get eventually; it’s better. He wants her. He wants her.
Free from restraints, she crashes her lips to his and Dean doesn’t hesitate to return the kiss with the same need. All the question marks, the doubt, the thoughts along the line of ‘what if it goes wrong?’ and ‘maybe we shouldn’t do this’ go right out the window.      It wouldn’t matter if they waited longer, because if that wake up call taught the cowboy anything, it’s that together or not, it would tear him to pieces if she were ever to leave the ranch. If he’s going to spend this time with her, he better make it worth her while, and maybe, just maybe, she’ll stay with him in the end.
Eventually, his mouth leaves hers and begins to descend, his breath tickling her skin as he ghosts down her neck. Willingly, she rolls her head to her shoulder, offering him space to leave marks on her pulse point, then down her collarbone. The hint of delicious pain has her fighting back a moan, which proves to be challenging, especially when his hands roam down to cover her peach-shaped behind. Trying to distract herself and be useful at the same time, she begins to unbutton his plaid shirt, his touch momentarily interrupted until the piece of clothing falls to the floor in a puddle of blue, soon followed by his white undershirt.
Before Dean urges her closer again, he drags the only chair in the room away from the small table by the window, sitting down and pulling her with him. The wood underneath them creaks when she settles in his lap, her bare knees on either side of the cowboy, holding herself up and leaning into his bare chest. The denim of his jeans stretches over his erection, rubbing against her core. The sheer thought of a few layers of fabric being the only barrier between him and her, sends a surge of heat to dampen her panties. Thank God she chose the lace ones earlier after her shower, the ones she can only wear whenever she’s not spending her day in the saddle. She wonders if he can tell how aroused she is already.
Dean can. He can feel the warmth radiating towards him and he can feel himself growing even harder, too. His breath hitches and he stifles a groan when she rolls her hips, burying his face in the crook of her neck. Ho-ly shit. This might not be how he originally imagined their first time, in this tiny room with thin walls, this one chair and a bunk bed, but it feels so good. He has enveloped her in his arms, his hands roam her body, not leaving a square inch unattended. Without tearing the seams, he pulls the strap of her loosely fitted tank top over one shoulder, the material shifting down. His fingers then reposition to cup her breast, all while he presses kisses on top. When he moves his thumb over her stiff nipple, she pulls in an audible gasp.      “Sssh…” he hushes. “Wouldn’t want to wake the neighbors.”
Y/N can’t help it, though. The friction she feels beneath her, combined with the touch of his mouth and his fingertips, is already beginning to build her up. She begins to pant, her lungs pushing out air in quivers. Dean doesn’t stop, however, and continues to knead her breast without hurting her, smothering the sounds she makes with another breathtaking kiss. His other hand has snaked around her waist again, splayed on the small of her back now, spurring her on to move against him. Good God, if he keeps this up, she might come undone without him even actually touching her down there.
The chair creaks louder when she moves against him, triggering Dean to cringe. The old furniture is either going to break or wake everyone in the bunkhouse, and so he pulls Y/N flush against him and stands up. Without missing a beat or breaking the kiss, she folds her legs around his waist as he walks her to the bed. Laying her down and fitting himself on top turns out to be a little more difficult than he thought it would be, the bunk bed limiting his space, but after some shimmying, he manages.
He hovers over the woman he’s about to be intimate with, mesmerized by the sight of her laying underneath him, her chest heaving, her eyes lustful. She’s the definition of gorgeous without even trying. Dude, how the hell did you manage to hold back this long?
The trail of kisses he presses on her stomach has Y/N arching her back, her eyes closed in delight as he travels down. Gently, he opens her legs a little wider, feather light touches electrifying her skin, sending currents towards her center. His hands leave her then, teasingly letting her wait in suspense. She listens, trying to pick up on any sound of him breathing or moving, her senses operating on full capacity. He’s testing her patience like he has done for the past few days. A chill runs down her spine as seconds tick by, but then Dean palms her heat through the fabric of her shorts. She bites her bottom lip at the unexpected connection, her fists clenching the comforter and a moan escaping her throat. This is happening. This is really happening.
Y/N feels him tracing the waistband of her shorts, before hooking his thumbs underneath the hem. He’s about to drag them down and move in, when they hear a door handle being pushed down. Her eyes shoot open in time to see Dean jerk back and sit up startled, hitting his head hard against the top bunk. The collision of his skull with the solid wood creates a loud bang, followed by a strangled groan. He curses through gritted teeth, trying to make as little noise as possible, while outside the room a door shuts. Horrified, they both stare at the other end of the room, not moving a muscle as shuffling footsteps cross the hall, opening another door and closing it again. A toilet seat is lifted up, the person whistling to himself softly. There can be only one person who needs encouragement to relieve himself: Garth.
“For fucks sake,” Dean hisses.      Y/N is unable to stop a snort, sniggering silently, even though she tries not to.      “You okay?” she checks, trying to sound concerned. Not very convincing, apparently, because Dean shoots her a glare, while rubbing the sore spot on his head.      The toilet flushes loudly and obscenely, triggering the woman underneath him to giggle unstoppably. When he shushes her, frantically holding his finger to his lips, it achieves the opposite, causing him to break character as well. Doing their best to keep it down, she clasps her hand over her mouth while Dean presses his lips together, trying to compose himself.      “You need to be quiet,” he whispers.      “I c-can’t”, she hiccups, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Garth heads back to his room, either sleep walking or he’s deaf, because he doesn’t pick up on any of the action happening on the other side of the hall. His door closes, the springs of his bed creak as he gets back in, and silence returns.      “Would you stop?” Dean chuckles, poking Y/N’s side when she fails to control her laughing fit.       “I’m sorry, I’m sorry…” she returns, struggling to keep it down. “How’s your head?”      “It’s alright,” he claims, ignoring the slight bump when he runs his hand through his hair. “Moment’s gone, ain’t it?”
She wipes the tears from her face, breathing in now that she’s capable again. Comforting, she reaches for his hand. As much as she would like to continue, the circumstances aren’t exactly ideal. Their first time together shouldn’t have to be clumsy and uncomfortable, in a bed that’s too small in a room with paper thin walls.       “Rain check?” she proposes.      Dean leans in to leave a kiss on her lips. “Rain check. ‘Sides, wouldn’t wanna have to hold back because you can’t keep it down.”      She pokes him in his stomach now. “Don’t get cocky.”
Dean scoffs, sliding from the bed without hitting his head this time. Grinning mischievously, he turns around, pulling her to her feet as well. The cowboy takes a second to really look at her again, glad to notice the lack of insecurity in her composure. Her hair is messy, strands escaping the loose bun at the base of her neck, ready for bed in her pajama shorts and a comfortable top. She could have felt self-conscious in this situation, especially since their moment together came to an abrupt and slightly awkward end. But she isn’t, she feels at ease when she’s with him. A small smile forms on the cowboy’s lips.
“You should get some sleep. We’ll skip the afternoon siestas, now that the temperatures are droppin’, so we’ll start an hour and a half later tomorrow. I figured you might wanna train Meadow first thing in the morning?” he suggests, picking up his shirts from the floor.      Y/N agrees, glad that she’s being given the space to focus on Congress. “Dean, about that…”      He glances back, patiently waiting for the follow up.      “I was wondering if you could maybe help me out with my freestyle?” she asks, a little shy.      “Yeah, of course,” the head wrangler responds without hesitation.       “Great,” she breathes, relieved. “And there’s this other thing.”      Dean steps closer, laying his shirt and flannel over his shoulder so that he has his hands free and can lace his fingers with hers. “What is it?”      “I was hoping you could coach me,” she says, looking up at him. “Not just at home, but when I have to compete in Columbus, too.”
Humbled, he gazes back, the corners of his mouth curving up. Coaching such a skilled rider as Y/N would be an absolute privilege, and with the trainers he knows she’s had, he’s surprised she’s asking him. Sure, the connection they have personally is there on a much more professional level as well, but they are talking Congress here, the biggest show of the year, and possibly the most important one of her career. Apparently, she has as much faith in his abilities to guide her as he has faith in her talent.        “It’ll be my pleasure,” he states.      “Really?” Y/N responds, thrilled.       “Hell, yeah,” Dean says, excited. “I’ll have to check with management if I can get time off for Congress, but I have plenty of days left. Plus, I think Ellen is kinda rooting for us.”      She chuckles, but then does a double take. “Wait, what? Ellen knows we’re together? I - I mean, not together together, I get that we’re not an item--”      “-Ellen knows,” he grins, squeezing her hand when he interrupts her nervous train of words. “I think basically everyone knows by now, except Garth and Bobby.”
A little uneasy Y/N glances from their hands up into his eyes. Wait… Is she reading too much into his words? He didn’t correct her when she used the term ‘together’. Why didn’t he? Is he worried he might upset her again? If anything, she doesn’t want to push him to oblige to something he’s not ready for.      “Dean, I know we just… I didn’t mean--” She pauzes, collects herself and starts over. “I know you’re not ready for a relationship and that’s fine, we had that conversation already. I’m not trying to rush you.”      “You’re not rushin’ me,” he assures, calmly. “I just needed a wake up call in order to pull my head out of my ass.”      The woman before him hesitates, “W-what do you mean?”
The wrangler wets his lips, taking a second to choose his words carefully.       “When your old man called, for a minute I thought you were about to hop on a plane and that I was never gonna see you again,” he admits. “And - uh, it kinda freaked me out, to be honest.”      He huffs, barely able to believe what he’s about to say.      “I’m not gonna keep you waitin’ any longer, Yankee. I know I said I want you, earlier, but truth is…”
Y/N watches him glance down at their hands again, running his thumb over her knuckles. Nerves close off her throat, because she has a hunch that he’s about to break it to her; he doesn’t want the commitment.
Tears begin to prick in her eyes, but not from laughter this time. She knew it was going to be difficult to get close to him. Dean keeps to himself, probably because he cared too much in the past and learned his lesson the hard way. The possibility of her leaving spooked him today, and now he’s done. He doesn’t want to risk that kind of heartbreak, he doesn’t want to rely on anyone. Dean Winchester would rather fill his world with a hundred shallow and meaningless flings than with one solid partner, and this is him setting her free, before things get out of --      “I wanna be with you.”
Her racing mind, which was breaking the speed limit, hits a brick wall. Shocked, she pulls her eyes away from their entwined fingers, gazing at him almost dumbfoundedly. Did he just say he wants to be with me?      “W-what?” she stammers.      “I mean, if you’ll still have me,” Dean adds, a little unsettled by her response. “Look, I know I’m not exactly an open book and that I behave like a dick sometimes when you try to get through to me. I’m stubborn as hell and my communication skills need some work—”
Now it’s Y/N who cuts him off for a change, closing the gap and kissing him passionately. He eases into her, smiling against her lips and leaves a peck on her hair when she embraces him and buries her face under his chin. Relieved, he allows the breath he was holding to leave his lungs.      “So, what do you say?” he asks, cocking his head back slightly to be able to look her in the eye again. “Up for a challenge?”      “Are we talking about us training together for Congress, or us as a couple?” she checks, regaining her footing again.      Dean frowns and chuckles at that. “Both.”      She doesn’t need time to think. She knew the answer to this question long before Dean was ready to ask.      “Yes,” she beams. “Hell, yes.”

Anons wanted an explanation for the placements I had on my previous tier list, but upon going back and looking it over, I realized that I wanted to move a few characters around, so I ended up getting a new template and remaking it.
I wrote little bits about each character [yes, each one] below the cut, but be warned, it’s long.
SS
“I love you so much that I would sell my soul to make sure you’re happy”
Lee Everett: Lee is a goddamn legend. He deserves to be at the very top. He’s one of the best protagonists I’ve ever played as in a game, his backstory is incredibly interesting, and his relationship with and dedication to protecting  Clementine never felt forced and is one of the highlights of S1. Even now, having replayed S1 a million times, seeing him get bit and slowly become weaker and weaker as he refuses to give up on Clementine still breaks my salt encased heart. Watching him die in the end never fails to put that lump in my throat. I love him.
AJ: I love this kid. I was so worried that they wouldn’t do him justice when the game was announced and I saw the trailer, but I was floored by just how much I grew to love him. He feels like my kid, my responsibility and I want him to grow up strong and smart, but also human. His voice acting is terrific, and I think he’s one of the best child characters we’ve ever been given in video games. His relationship with Clementine rivals Lee and Clem’s relationship and that’s what I wanted. This kid earned his place at the top.
S4 Clementine: This Clementine is my absolute favorite. While I love all the Clementine’s across the four seasons, I feel like she truly hit her peak in S4. I fucking love her, I’m proud of who she grew up to be, and seeing her journey to this point only solidifies that she’s my favorite. She’s strong and stern, but she has her softer moments with AJ and Louis/Violet, and what else is there really to say? She’s Clementine.
Louis: ....Do I really need to explain this? I mean, c’mon. If you’ve been following me for a long time- shit, if you’ve only been following me for a few minutes, then y’all know how much I love Louis. I can say with 100% certainty that Louis is my favorite non-playable character across all four games. I’ve made numerous posts, answered over a hundred asks, written thousands of words about him. Everything about him from his character design, his personality, his traumas, his voice acting, his expressions, his relationship with Clementine and AJ and Violet and Marlon and everyone- He’s the best. I love him.
Rosie: Rosie is the bestest girl in the world. ‘nuff said.
S
“I fucking love everything about you.”
S1 Clementine: Alright, before y’all come at me with the whole “Why isn’t little baby Clem SS tier you monster??” let me explain: I adore S1 Clementine. She’s still in S tier, after all. However, after playing through these games several times over again, I realize that this really is just the beginning of Clementine’s character and her growth. She’s lovable, she’s cute, and I want to protect her, but she’s not... a compelling character? She doesn’t fully come into herself and develop a stronger personality until S2. Like I said, I still love her and I can’t deny the impact that she had on the characters and us players, but she’s not my favorite Clementine of the bunch.
S2 Clementine: I fucking love S2 Clementine. I’d actually say that she’s my 2nd favorite Clementine. I give S2 a lot of well-deserved shit, but she is the high point of it all. Something about her character is compelling to me, like how she’s stuck with a bunch of adults who underestimate her yet want her to do everything for them and she just... is so done with it hahaha. But her growth is what it really does it for me. We went from little baby Clementine who whimpered at a small cut on her finger to a Clementine who fucking sews her own arm up, covers herself in walker guts with barely a flinch, can shoot a gun with great accuracy and take down walkers like they ain’t shit, and can survive and make her own decisions. Also, her instant connection with AJ is great. Love it. Love her.
Javier Garcia: Yo, I love this beautiful man. This man is honestly the best part of ANF, and without him it would’ve been such a shitty game. I found his backstory as an ex-professional baseball player booted from the league for gambling a cool concept. He’s hilarious and charming, too. Honestly, he deserved a better game with better, y’know? The only reason he’s not SS tier is because of the writing and his nonsense with Kate when you don’t want to romance her. It makes it seem like he led her on and then was like “Wait nevermind lol” which is annoying, but other than that, he’s great. Love his relationships with most of the characters, and the ending he got was pretty good.
James: I don’t talk about him as much as I should because I find James fucking fascinating. If they ever made a DLC or a mini-game for twdg, I want it to be about James and his journey in finding and joining the whisperers, his relationship with Charlie, and how he escaped them. His views on walkers, his survival and killing skills, his past traumas haunting his every moment for fear that he’ll revert back to what he was, his extreme pacifism that ironically turns violent- just what a cool fucking character. And while he has his wild moments [cave scene, anyone? “Oh ouch!” hahahahahaa] he’s still one of my favorites.
Violet: Oh, Violet. She’s amazing. I love her so damn much. If there’s ever been a character that I see a lot of myself in, it’s her.... which is why I tend to be a little harsh with her sometimes, but I can’t deny that she’s one of the most well-written characters across the whole series. She’s not perfect [both she and Louis do have their tiny inconsistencies that I blame the writing for] but that’s a good thing. And while I don’t ship her and Clementine, I 100% get why a lot of people do. Their relationship is adorable and way more compelling than her previous relationship with Minerva.
A
“I love you <3″
Carley: My beautiful girlfriend... you were taken away far too soon. Carley’s one of my favorite characters from S1. I wish we could’ve had more time to explore a relationship between her and Lee, but what we did get is enjoyable. She’s a badass, and I will always love the moment she tells Lilly off for being a little bitch, even though it results in her death. Not a day goes by where I’m not salty about that one.
Molly: Molly’s a goddamn badass. She scales buildings like it’s nothing, she named her weapon Helga, and her backstory with Crawford and her sister is terrific. Also, she’s funny and I love her. That’s that.
Omid: This dude was literally a light in S1. He brought us some humor when we needed it [ “...You broke that dude’s face.” ] and his relationship with Christa was so sweet. Also, him and Lee bonding over being history nerds? Yes, please. It’s bullshit that he was killed off two seconds into S2 but hey... S2 had a lot of bullshit in it so...  Justice for Omid 2k19.
Luke: *deeeeeeeep inhale* Big Brother Luke did not deserve that bullshit. Literally one of the best characters in S2 and y’all just.... did him dirty like that. And for what? To make room for Kenny and Jane? Bull. Shit. Luke was so damn good, and the only reason he’s not higher is because of what they did to him after ep3. He starts out so kind and supportive and seriously like a big brother character then SUDDENLY he’s stupid and “makes it” with Jane while walkers are trying to eat us and then he gets himself shot and then fucking dies and akjsjdlkjasdkjaslkjasdklerwedascasads-
S3 Clementine: ...So, here’s where y’all will probably get pissed. S3 Clementine is my least favorite of the bunch. Don’t get me wrong, I still love her and she is still in A tier, but... how do I explain it? She’s in her 13-year-old, emo/angsty phase and it’s hilarious when it shouldn’t be. There are moments where I do become emotional for her, like when David takes AJ away and Javi hugs her, or when Gabe dies and she’s saying goodbye, or when she gets her first period, y’know moments like that! BUT... then we have moments where Javi goes to talk to her and she’s all “HAVING PEOPLE IS GREAT AT FIRST BUT EVENTUALLY EVERYONE DIES” or when she straight up shoots that guy who gave her faulty bullets OR WHEN SHE’S LIKE “IMMA KILL ME A LINGARD” AND.......... it’s too much for me! I can’t take her seriously when she’s this angsty, even when I understand why she is the way she is. Again, to reiterate, I still love her but in ranking all four Clementines, she comes in last for me.... and I can already hear the shit that’s gonna be thrown my way haha
Conrad: The most underappreciated character in S3 and it’s nonsense. Don’t come for me, but this dude is my favorite npc in S3. I love Conrad, and I wish we got more of him. He does have his own little arch if you keep him alive through the end. His grief over Francine is heartbreaking and his downward spiral that leads him to act out and threaten Javi, Clem, and Gabe so that he can get his revenge is wonderful. And btw, he does apologize for pulling the gun on them and makes up for it in the future. And y’know what moves him up into A tier? The moment you let him kill Badger. One of the best kills of the game. I prefer it over beating the shit out of Badger myself.
Aasim: This boy is my son, and I’m sorry, but he’s really fucking cool. You’ve got this kid who was sent to Ericson for being a pyromaniac [according to Kent, it’s not actually mentioned in game] and grew into this guy who documents everything so that they’ll have a form of history to look back on and help not repeat mistakes. His banter with Louis is funny, and even though he gets fed up with Louis for not taking anything seriously, he still cares deeply about him given how he reacts when Louis loses his tongue. His crush on Ruby is adorable, too. I just love him, he’s great.
Marlon: Now, originally I put Marlon in a lower tier [the “I like your role in the story” type of tier] but upon reflection I actually find Marlon to be a compelling character. He’s high on the list because of how well he’s portrayed. Marlon has some of the best voice acting across all the games. There isn’t a single moment where I don’t believe what he’s saying, which says something. There are moments where Clementine will say something and I go, “Really? That’s the take they went with? Okay...” but not with Marlon. For only being in ep1, he played his part really fucking well. I won’t defend any of the shit he pulled because it’s awful, but I understand everything he did. He is a coward, a sheep hiding in a wolf’s coat, pretending that he’s got everything under control and putting all the pressure of a leader onto himself and it eventually breaks him. I know they killed him off to further the plot and show how ruthless AJ can be as a child growing up in the world, but I wish he survived past ep1 so that we could really get into the meat of his character. I’ll say it: I love him as fake-friend-to-full-on-antagonistic-character and his role within the story.
Mitch: I fucking love Mitch and the only reason he isn’t in SS tier is because of how goddamn dirty the writers did him. You give me this boy- this butterknife wielding, foul-mouthed, angry, hilarious, bomb-making boy and make me fall in love with him and THEN YOU KILL HIM OFF IN THE STUPIDEST WAY POSSIBLE. “Oh, lemme just run at the crazy lady with a knife and- OOF! It appears I’ve been throat stabbed bleh-”  I’ve complained about this since ep2, but lemme say it again: Mitch had so much potential to be an amazing character but never got the chance to because we had to add to the death count and make us more afraid of Lilly even though it didn’t do shit because it was a reaction kill rather than one made out of malice.
Tenn: Tenn is such a tragic character for me. In my personal canon ending, he dies because he was “messing up again” and AJ shot him. This poor kid was so full of hope that the walkers would go away one day, he’s so genuine and never wants to hurt anyone, even if they’re trying to hurt him, and he’s so fucked up from seeing Minerva that he stops thinking and tries to go to her even as she’s being devoured right in front of him. Tenn is like this game’s Sarah, but done right. He deserved better, but he was a well-written character and I love him. His friendship with AJ was so sweet which makes it even more heartbreaking when he dies. Yet another terrific child character.
B
“I like you and/or your role within the story”
S1 Kenny: This dude is such a chaotic topic. I feel like 90% of the fandom has an incredibly strong opinion on him, and of that 90%, 45% of people absolutely love him and if you say anything negative you’ll get a boat to the head while the other 45% loathe him. Then you’ve got the 10% who don’t have such strong opinions, and that’s where I fall. I like Kenny, and I like S1 Kenny more than his S2 counterpart. He has a great arch throughout the season regardless if you’re his best pal or not. He has some funny lines, some emotional scenes. I’ll never forget the first time I played the scene where Kenny’s crying over Katjaa’s dead body while Duck is laying against the tree on the brink of death. And I definitely will never forget the part where he finds the boy in the attic. Overall, I like him and what he brought to S1.
Katjaa: She was really sweet and her death broke my heart. I don’t have too much to say about her, but I liked her a lot. She loved her family and met a tragic end.
Ben: Fucking Ben, man. This poor kid. Another character with wasted potential. I’ve mentioned this plenty of times before, but I wish we could get an alternative ending where Ben was the only one who survived and became Clementine’s new caretaker. There was so much room for growth. He just wanted to help out but kept screwing up and it’s just.... sad.
Christa: I’ll be honest, the first time I ever played S1, I didn’t like Christa. Something about her rubbed me the wrong way and I didn’t care about her as much as I did Omid. However, the more times I replayed it, the more I grew to love her. She’s strong but sweet, and you can’t deny how much she loves Omid. And while I wish we did get to know what happened to her in S2, I can live with it remaining unknown.
Chuck: As much as I like our guitar playing hobo friend who deserved so much more, I would probably put him a tier lower if it weren’t for the advice that he gives Lee on the train. Because of him, Lee stopped treating Clementine entirely like a little girl in need of protection and cut her hair, taught her to use a gun, and furthered their communication by building a plan together. Without Chuck and his wise hobo words, Lee might’ve fucked both of them over. Also, Chuck’s pretty badass with that shovel, he got a lot of chuckles out of me, but his death was off screen and disappointing.
Andy St John: Okay. Okay okay okay. Andy. He is so high here [and so much higher than his mom and brother] because to me, he’s the scariest of the St John’s. Why? Because he’s the most normal-appearing of the three. He acts and talks like any normal guy would. He’s someone that I could see myself running into in real life. He’s so good at hiding how fucked up he is from everyone, unlike his brother who you can just look at and go “hahahahaha no thanks” and his mother who’s character design is just awful. I find him to be the strongest of the three, the smartest and the most dangerous. And the final fight between him and Lee is amazing. I love how you can be so furious with him that you keep punching him even after the prompt goes away and then his face goes all purple and swollen. Easily the greatest antagonist in S1.
Eddie: This dude is the best character to come out of the 400 Days dlc. End of story.
Alvin: He gave me a juice box and that automatically puts him here. Real great guy but we didn’t get too into his character. Wish we could’ve, though.
Rebecca: She grew on me tbh. Didn’t like her in ep1 when she was being all pissy and all, but for the most part, she’s pretty good.
Mike: I will forever wish the writers went through with the concept of Mike being one of the guys who attacked Christa because then he could’ve had a better character backstory. Regardless, I still like him. He’s pretty funny.
Nick: Nick? Oh, you mean PURE WASTED POTENTIAL. I mean, they really did give us this super flawed but sympathetic and interesting character and kill him off-screen. They really did that. Honestly, S2 really pisses me off sometimes for the way they treated these characters. It all goes downhill once everyone escapes. Yeah, yeah, blah blah not everyone gets a meaningful death blah blah but y’know what? You can do better than that. I loved Nick and I was so excited to see what they’d do with him in the end but NOPE! Justice 4 Nick 2k19
Pete: What a good dude. He stuck by Clementine’s side even when everyone thought she was bit. Love him. Wish we saw more of him.
Sarah: Ha. Ha. PURE WASTED POTENTIAL 2.0. What else needs to be said? This girl had the foundation for a great character but again, NOPE! I really liked Sarah! I wanted to teach her to use a gun to protect herself! The loss of her father fucking broke her and it was hard to watch but I wanted more and just ahaklsdjlaskjdlkakjaskjsaadkljas ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh-
Ava: Yo. Ava’s a fucking gorgeous badass. Really liked her and how she was sweet on Clementine. Also, it’s interesting that she stuck by David’s side like that.
David: I have a lot of mixed feelings about David. On one hand, the complicated relationship between him and Javier is good, even if it’s a little bullshit at times. On the other hand, David’s an asshole.  But he’s a great antagonistic character. I do love that about him. The shit with him and Kate was a little annoying, but only because they didn’t ever elaborate on anything. On what level was the marriage fucked? Was it straight-up abusive? What happened to David’s first wife? Why did Kate and David get married in the first place? I got questions! But, like Javier, I think David deserved a better game with better writing.
Jesus: This dude parkour kills walkers. Pretty fucking badass.
Tripp: I feel like I don’t like Tripp as much as some people. I like him fine, but I know a lot of folks gush about him. I think he’s a good dude, a little pushy with Eleanor, but he’s loyal and strong.
S2 Lilly: I fucking hate Lilly. I hate her so goddamn much. She pushes every wrong button with her bullshit “Where's our new recruits?? Lee would be so disappointed knowing he taught you all the wrong things! You’re one of my people now, Clementine” AND THE GODDAMN “Yes, Ma’am” SHIT. Nothing irks me more than every time someone from the delta acts like Lilly’s the baddest bitch and call her “Ma’am” I HATE IT AND I HATE HER. SHE KILLED MITCH. SHE KIDNAPPED MY CHILDREN. SHE DARES TO TRY AND HURT LOUIS LIKE HE’S NOTHING. AND I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT HER....... That being said, y’all are probably thinking “wtf if you hate her so much why isn’t she in F tier???” and that’s because no other antagonist in these games has ever gotten this strong of a reaction out of me. Lilly is a damn good antagonist. She’s not perfect, and there are definitely things I would change or add, but she does her job and makes me absolutely livid [yeah yeah I know ha ha ha ha] every time she’s on screen doing her bullshit. I hate her and that counts for something. She’s easily the best “villain” in the entire series.
Ruby: I love my funny little hot-headed medic. Ruby’s amazing and I love her.
Willy: This kid really grew on me. I thought he was weird and creepy at the beginning but I adore him now. His brotherly relationship with Mitch should’ve been explored more, and at times his voice acting is kind of jarring, but I still love him.
C
“You’re fine, I guess...”
Duck: He’s fine. I like Duck. I like the “what if” scenarios we’ve come up with surrounding his character, and his death always puts a lump in my throat, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to say I love him, y’know?
Doug: Again, he’s fine. He has some funny moments when you save him, and he’s got a cool little panda bear on his sweater but... yeah. He’s okay.
Mark: Oh hai Mark. He’s cool, and the reason he’s not lower is because the iconic moment of finding him in the hidden room with his legs chopped off choking out the words “Don’t... eat... dinner” forever haunts my nightmares.
Russell: I’m not a big fan of most of the playable 400 Days characters, but I think if I had to pick a favorite, it’s Russell. His backstory of being with the group that believed in the power of 7′s [I think it was 7 I dunno going off of memory here] was cool and his weird thing with Nate was fun and disturbing. He’s a pretty cool character.
Carlos: I’ve made posts about Carlos before and how I think he had a lot of potential, but looking strictly at his role in the game and I’m left underwhelmed. I did get a lot of shit for where I placed him in my previous tier because he was [and still is] above S2 Kenny but I’m not going to lie and say I like Kenny more than him because... I don’t. I just think Carlos should’ve been given more development.
Carver: A cool antagonist who was defeated waaaaaay too early in the game. They were doing a fantastic job at making me hate him with his treatment of Clementine, beating the shit out of Kenny, murdering Alvin and pulling all that shit with Rebecca, but killing him off so quickly didn’t make it feel as satisfying. Again, underwhelming.
Sam: This pup betrayed me and he ain’t no Rosie, but we played frisbee so he gets a C I guess
Gabe: Y’know, Gabe could’ve been so good. But every time I play through ANF, he ends up annoying me more than Ben. What does that tell you? He’s fine, but he could’ve been a lot better.
Mariana: I’m not so much “meh” on Mari because I think she’s sweet and likable! The problem is I don’t want to put her any higher because really? What did she do? She died horribly because Badger’s a piece of shit.
Abel: Meh this guy’s garbage. I only put him up a little higher because the scene with him in the basement is really good.
Brody: Brody is like the Mariana of S4 for me, just a bit better. I do like her. She had some development but her whole purpose was to die by Marlon’s hand and get the plot going. Would’ve loved to learn more about her, but I couldn’t give her anything higher than a C.
Minerva: Controversial opinion but........ I don’t like Minerva as much as a lot of people do. If I could be brutally honest, if I were ranking these characters solely on how I feel about them without looking at their roles in the games and character development, Minerva would be in E tier at the highest. However, I can’t deny how tragic and complex her character and backstory is. It’s similar to how I feel about Lilly, but different. I think she’s just so fucked up from the delta that she’s become a husk of who she was and it results in her constantly pissing me off with all her shit. Also, the bridge scene alone bumps her up. That shit was crazy in a good yet tragic way.
Omar: At one point, I forgot Omar existed until he got shot in the leg...... but he’s also God so y’know. I like him but I also had to make up my own little backstory for him so...
D
“Meh”
S1 Lilly: I don’t care about S1 Lilly in the slightest, she’s awful. They made her way more compelling in S4. And she killed my girlfriend which is bullshit on it’s own.
Jolene: If I could rewrite S1, I would’ve thrown out the Stranger and had Jolene be the kidnapper. As Danny said, “What a waste.”
Bonnie: She’s pretty disappointing, tbh. I didn’t like how the game help pushing her onto Clem and overall she’s pretty forgettable.
Vince: He’s okay, I guess. He killed a dude one time. And shot a guy’s foot off.
Wyatt: “Meh” hahaha Eddie was a cooler character than he was
Jane: I wish Jane had been the Molly of S2 and stayed gone after she left the first time. I like that she taught Clementine some useful survival tactics and that’s what puts her on this tier, but I think we all know how I feel about the whole Jane vs. Kenny thing by now so...
S2 Kenny: This Kenny actually moved up a tier because I fully took in everything he’s been through thus far and.... “Meh.” I don’t think he’s good for Clementine, I think she and AJ need a group like Wellington. I recognize that he’s a lot of people’s favorite, but like I said above in his S1 counterpart, I’m the 10% that doesn’t have that strong of an opinion on him. I’d much rather discuss other characters over him.
Sarita: Forgettable, really. Except for when you get the chance to cut her hand off. That fucking scream of hers is anything but forgettable, yeesh.
Walter: Again, mostly forgettable. His death was sad, and I do think he’s a good example of what happens when you’re too trusting in this world, but overall he doesn’t stand out to me.
Kate: I probably would’ve liked Kate more if her romance wasn’t so damn forced. She has some funny lines, but she’s also pretty selfish and fickle when it comes to a lot of things. And I will forever be annoyed at her inability to keep her mouth shut about her and Javi’s relationship [or lack of] in front of David.
E
“I don’t like you but you’re not the absolute worst, I guess...”
Danny St John and Brenda St John: I put these two together because they have the same issue: They’re fucking creepy. Where Andy was normal and deceiving, these two look like they want to cut my legs off and eat them. I think they’re much weaker in character than Andy was, even with Danny’s weird sexual fixation of his gun and Brenda talking about her husband.
Vernon: He’s not the absolute worst because I do feel a little sympathy for him losing his daughter, but everything else just makes me not like him.
Shel and Becca: Easily my two least favorite characters in 400 Days. I had no real interest in either of them.
Arvo: This guy. I didn’t put him in as the absolute worst because of all the unnecessary shit Kenny put him through. No wonder he wanted to get the hell outta there.
Clint: I literally couldn’t give a single shit about this dude or what happens to him.
Eleanor: I don’t like Eleanor. I found her annoying. Her one good quality is her want to help people, but that want didn’t do much to help Tripp now did it, Eleanor.
F
“The absolute worst”
Larry: Did you expect anything else? Fuck this guy.
Stranger: Worst final antagonist ever. You’re telling me I have to fight this Mister Roger’s tootsie pop? I’ll bet you $1 I can do it with one hand. Fuck this guy.
Troy: Fuck Troy. All he does is smack Clementine around and then get shot in the dick.
Joan: This lady is a laughably bad antagonist. The worst fucking “villian” jfc...
---
There ya have it. Do you agree, disagree? Maybe a character I found boring you really liked! Maybe you want to tell me why Kenny is the best/worst again!  We can discuss it.
I’m always open to talking about these characters!

I Can’t Wait to Tell This Story to My Grandchildren
A few months had passed, and it was now Katy’s fifteenth birthday. After celebrating at home and telling her mom she’d be going to sleep, she really traveled to the fictional world to spend the rest of the evening and wee hours of the morning with her friends there.
"So... What the hell is this, Katy?" Sam Winchester asked, standing in front of some sort of futuristic archway in the middle of one of the courtyards with guards watching it 24/7. His wife Kate stood next to him, curious about the archway in front of her. The portal was on a platform, all made of metal. A control panel stood on the right-hand side. Sam stood with his arms crossed, a confused look on his face as he glanced down at the excited and confident women to his left.
Katy had apparently been busy for the past month, finishing up the tests on her portal. She wanted to take extra time to run tests after that last mishap before moving it and showing it to Sam and Kate. Sam hadn't seen her the entire time, but after speaking to her assistant, it seems she hadn't left the base. Not once. Her face was brightened by her confidence.
"It's a portal, you idiot," she teased, pushing him playfully. "With this, anyone who knows the codes can go to different places. Within reason, of course."
Katy walked up to the platform and typed in a code. After she did, the inside of the archway started to spiral with different shades of blues and purples. A few minutes passed before the light at the top stopped flashing red and switched to a solid green.
"Where the hell do you think you're taking me?" Sam stepped back, refusing to let any fear show on his face, knowing the woman wouldn't let him live it down.
Kate chuckled, pushing her husband forward a little. “Come on, honey! Let's see where she takes us!” she exclaimed, a huge smile on her face. “I think it looks awesome Katy. where are we going?” The woman had a death grip on her husband's arm, the man groaning a bit. It was obvious he didn’t want to go.
Katy smiled, chuckling at the pair. Oh, was she glad that the ship sailed. “Thank you for asking, Kate. And the answer to both of your questions, even though they’re the same, is Thedas. Now, are you coming or not? I want you to meet everyone." She smiled, standing a bit off to the side with her arm out, offering for them to go first. A slight breeze blowing her hair as she waited patiently for them. "Unless the big bad monster hunter is afraid, Sam?" she teased, chuckling slightly.
Sam scoffed, brushing off the comment. He took Kate’s hand tightly, then Katy’s, and drug them through the portal. When they reached the other side, they stood on a cliffside overlooking the Hinterlands.
Sam had let go of the women’s hands at this point and crossed his arms, a smug look on his face, "See? I told you I wasn't afraid." And yet the man spoke too soon.
A large gust of wind went over them and their ears filled with the sound of a dragon screech from above. As soon as Sam noticed it, he shrieked almost as high pitched as the dragon, throwing himself on the ground and looking up at it with wide eyes.
"What the hell Katy?" he exclaimed, his heart racing as he looked to the two women laughing at his reaction.
"I thought you said you weren't afraid?" Kate asked, crossing her arms. The dragon’s screech certainly surprised her, but with Hestia being full-grown now, it didn’t necessarily scare her.
"You never said there would be dragons!" the man exclaimed, jumping back on his feet and away from the cliff, his breathing shallow and quick.
"You didn't ask," Katy laughed, shaking her head a bit. "Now come on. Let's get you a change of pants."
Sam groaned at his wife’s laughter, but he obviously loved it when she laughed. “So now that I can actually breathe, why are we here exactly?” Katy was in the front, leading the two down the steep makeshift walkway.
“Oh! It’s my birthday today, so I wanted to come and celebrate it with the group here, and bring you two with me.” Katy flashed a smile to them, hopping down a little cliff and helping the other two.
“Katy, you never told us about your birthday before…” Kate furrowed her eyes a little bit, crossing her arms once she was down the cliff. “How come you never told us before?” she was a little hurt that Kay hadn’t told them. She’s known them for years, so why not tell them?
Katy shrugged as they made it to the horses, Katy hopping on the paint. “Honestly, there isn’t a reason. I’m just always so busy here that I didn’t really find time to celebrate with y’all.” The other two followed Katy down the road on their horses. The couple looked to one another and shrugged, that was the end of their conversation.
After about five minutes of actually riding, they went from this countryside town to a snowy bridge in the mountains with a castle close in front of them, both Kate and Sam gasping a bit from the sudden change in temperature. “Sorry, this will should help.” Katy chuckled at their reactions, snapping her fingers and changing all of their clothes to a more renaissance look with fur pelts to keep them warm.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
As they approached, two guards stood at the front of the gate, both gripping the hilt of their blades. The taller, and more than likely older guard, was the one to speak up. “State your business, strangers!”
Katy groaned, stepping off her horse and leading it towards the guards without a sense of intimidation. The younger guard, feeling a little nervous, drew his blade and pointed it at her throat, only a couple inches away.
“Ka-” Kate began to get off her horse and Sam gently grabbed her arm, shaking his head at her. They didn’t know these people, so they needed to trust Katy’s judgment and let her handle the situation.
Katy glared at the young guard who practically trembled in front of her. Even though he had the upper hand, he was afraid of her. “Iro,” was all she stated, the elder’s eyes widening.
“Boy! Stand down! This woman is one of the goddesses!” the elder guard snapped, pushing down the younger’s blade. “I do apologize for our ignorance, your grace.” He signaled the guard manning the gate to open up and let them in. “Send someone to inform the Inquisitor immediately! Tell her Iro has arrived.” Another guard replied with the typical ‘yes sir!’ and did as he was told.
“Hop down, you two. We’ll lead our horses the rest of the way.” Katy smiled back to her friends and then looked back to the guard as the two got off. “Lead the way, kind sir.” And that he did.
As they walked through the short tunnel, they looked around to see multiple sets of stairs on their left. One lead up and underneath another set of stairs that presumably lead up to the throne or dining hall, judging by the size and flags on either side of the double doors. On their right and above their two o’clock, there was a little bridge leading from the main building to a smaller one on the battlements. More eye level, there was a beaten up barn and some merchant tables.
“Ma’am? May we take your horses from you please?” a young female soldier asked with a kind smile on her face. There was another standing close behind her, but they seemed to be new and a bit shy.
Katy returned the kind smile, all three passing off their horses to the two. “Yes, that would be much appreciated.”
“Ma’am? You’ve been here before, I assume?” the elder guard leading them questioned, holding his helmet in his hands.
“You’d be correct. I can find the Inquisitor from here, thank you,” Katy responded, motioned for Sam and Kate to follow her up the set of stairs under an archway.
As they stepped up, a woman with shoulder-length red hair, tan pants, and a royal blue shirt came walking down the stairs above them from the main building. Beside her, a man with golden hair, armor, and a red and black tinted fur resting across his shoulders followed.
When Katy’s group reached the end of the stairs, in front of them was a two, maybe three, story building with dummies outside; the armory. On the right of that, behind a tall tree, was a door that led down to the dungeon. On their left, was a wooden building that was also three stories. It must have been the tavern, judging by the chatter and music.
“Katy! Oh, it’s been too long!” The red-haired woman’s wonderful British accent, at least that was the only way Katy could describe it, came from their seven.
When Katy turned to greet her friend, she was surprised by the hug she received from the woman. When she pulled away, Kate and Sam could see the woman’s piercing golden-yellow eyes.
“Good to see you too, Gwen,” Katy chuckled, a small smile on her face as she gave the man in armor a playful wink. “I’d like to introduce you to my King and Queen.” Katy stepped aside, ‘presenting’ Sam and Kate. “This is Kate and Sam Winchester, rulers of Othos. You guys, this is Guinevere Trevelyan, the Inquisitor, and Cullen Rutherford, the commander of her forces.”
The four shook hands after introductions before being interrupted by another couple coming down the stairs. The new pair, dressed in royal clothing, were the King and Queen of this land, which was Ferelden. Both were part of an order called the Gray Wardens a few years ago and ended up saving the realm from a dragon, but that’s another story. Their names are Alistair and Arwen Theirin, and they are probably the goofiest couple, and rulers, you’ll ever meet.
“So, Katy, what brings you here today?” Guinevere, or Gwen asked, clasping her hands in front of her during the conversation.
Katy blushed a little, the smile still on her face. “Well, I was hoping to celebrate my birthday here with you all… if you have the time, that is.”
Gwen’s face instantly lit up and she giggled like a child on Christmas morning. “Oh Maker’s breath,” Cullen mumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose. He knew this reaction all too well.
Gwen quickly grabbed the horn she used to get everyone’s attention, blowing as hard as she could. Almost instantly, everyone stopped their daily chores and gave their attention to their leader. Soldiers and guests in the tavern even stopped to walk out and see what she had to say. As everyone gathered, she ran up the stairs to the small platform halfway up, skipping a few stairs with each step.
“I need everyone’s attention please!” She called, taking an excited hero pose. “Today is the Goddess Iro’s birthday, and we need to make it the best one Ferelden has ever seen! It needs to top the royal family’s parties! The Free Marches need to hear the music from across the ocean! We need to run out of all the wine we have in stock! We need to make it big enough that the Maker and his bride, Andraste hear us from the heavens!”
Everyone around cheered, taking Gwen’s words to heart. “Oh heavens,” Katy groaned, covering her face with her hands. Why must she always be over the top?
“Now get that woman in the tavern and drinking! And start a round of wicked grace!” Gwen cheered again, skipping down the stairs to meet her party.
Alistair, who is the weirdest of them all, threw Katy over his shoulder, which made her scream. As he ran towards the tavern in a cheer, Katy begged for help from her friends, but to no avail. Arwen sighed at her husband's actions, but this was normal for him.
“Come now, friends, lighten up a bit and enjoy the party.” Arwen smiled, leading Sam and Kate to the tavern.
“This is going to be interesting,” Sam mumbled.
“No kidding,” Kate agreed, letting a smile slip onto her face.

Hours had passed and the main party was already hammered, Katy most of all. Drinks had been served up immediately to the guests of honor.
“Katy? What the -" he hiccuped, "- hell are you doing?” Sam mumbled, taking another sip of his ale as Katy stood on the bar for a musical number. “Hey! Goddess Iro is gonna sing for us!” Sam cheered, now realizing why she was up there. Everyone now cheered as Katy prepared to sing.
“I am flesh and I am bone,
Rise up, ting ting, like glitter and gold,
I’ve got fire in my soul,
Rise up, ting ting, like glitter!”
The room started humming and lightly stomping their feet, causing a more quiet melody as she continued.
“Like glitter and gold.”
The beat continued before switching slightly to the stomping without the hum.
“Do you walk in the valley of kings?
Do you walk in the shadow of men who sold their lives to a dream?”
The stomping was louder, now joined by their mugs on the table.
“Do you ponder the manner of things,
In the dark?
The dark, the dark, the dark!”
The hum was now reintroduced to the beat as she continued.
“I am flesh and I am bone,
Arise, ting ting, like glitter and gold,
I’ve got fire in my soul
Rise up, ting ting, like glitter!
Like glitter and gold,
Like glitter!”
The humming stopped and silence reigned supreme. Until her voice shattered the glass.
“Do you walk in the meadow of spring?
Do you talk to the animals? Do you hold their lives from a string?
Do you ponder the manner of things?
In the dark?
The dark, the dark, the dark!
Humming.
“I am flesh and I am bone,
Arise, ting ting, like glitter and gold,
I’ve got fire in my soul,
Rise up, ting ting, like glitter!
I am flesh and I am bone,
Arise, ting ting, like glitter and gold,
I’ve got fire in my soul,
Rise up, ting ting, like glitter!”
The humming stopped and the pounding got quiet, the sound of people making a gasping sound to the beat replaced it.
“‘Cause everybody in the backroom’s spinnin’ out,
Don’t remember what you’re askin’ for?
And everybody in the front room’s trippin’ out,
You left your bottle at the door,”
Everyone joined in to repeat the four lines, finishing the song. There was more to it, but Katy felt it would be a good place to end. When she did, everyone cheered as she gave a small bow.
“Another round of drinks for the next song!” she cheered, thrusting her mug into the air in a cheer. She sang one more, ‘The Trooper and The Maid’, a song she'd learned from Assassin’s Creed, with Kate, Gwen, and Arwen joining her on top of the bar to do a little dance together.
The group danced and partied the night away, laughing and giggling with the alcohol in their systems.  Somehow, the main party wasn’t out cold when the moon's time ticked by to signal the arrival of two in the morning. With everyone else gone except for them, they decided to play a few rounds of Wicked Grace, a favorite in Ferelden.
“Katy! Why don’t you tell us a story? I’m sure a goddess like you has a lot of stories to tell,” Alistair giggled, practically laying the top half of his body on the table.
Katy grinned and matched the man’s laugh. “Alright, Alistair. If you insist.” As the game persisted, Katy went on to tell a story about how she pranked another god but if she named the person he would probably smite her from the other universe. It was Zeus. Still, she never named the man.
“Wait, you actually ended up stripping him and putting a goat in bed with him while he slept?” Gwen questioned, earning a head nod from her friend. That was all she needed to bust out laughing at the story. “Maker’s breath! That’s priceless!”
The stories and games continued, and they all eventually ended up blacking out in the tavern. Katy was the first one to wake up groaning from her throbbing head. This was the last time she’d drink like that for a long time. Her back was cold from sleeping on the wooden floor in the nude, and when she noticed she almost screeched. Luckily, a certain Inquisition Commander had draped his cloak on her and used a potato sack for his own blanket. The others were sprawled out in various places around the table, but Katy and Cullen were the only ones naked.
“Sam, wake up!” she called, kicking him a little. He didn’t hear her call, but when she kicked him he jumped up, attention on her.
“What? What’s wrong?”
“Why the hell are Cullen and I naked!” she whispered, clinging to the cloak around her and shivering at the breeze.
Sam chuckled before groaning and pinching the bridge of his nose. He hadn’t been this hungover for years, and it wasn’t something he was super happy happened again. “You don’t remember?”
“No! Obviously, that’s why I’m asking.”
“Well, you lost a round of Wicked Grace to Alistair and Cullen had given you his cloak before anything could be seen. Then he lost the last round to Arwen and the same thing happened to him.”
“Why our clothes, though? We were gambling.”
Sam shrugged, yawning as he spoke. “All I know is that you lost and your clothes are on the bar.”
She looked over to the bar to see a couple soldiers passed out still and her clothes on the other end of the table, right next to Cullen’s armor. She sighed and snapped her fingers, making both of their clothes go back onto the owners. The sound of the snap throbbed and echoed through her ears. Not only was she currently sensitive to light, but apparently sound too.

Katy, Sam, and Kate had all stayed at Skyhold until after dinner. Alistair and Arwen were the ones to leave soon after waking up, only because they had a long journey ahead of them. Katy’s group ended up taking a tour of Skyhold even though Katy already knew it like the back of her hand, and got to know the main members of the Inquisition and how Katy came into play.
“It was great meeting the two of you.” Gwen smiled as the three got on their horses. “Come back again to visit us soon, okay? And Katy, don’t be a stranger, we’ve missed you.” The woman chuckled, patting Katy’s horse as she spoke.
“Don’t worry, I’ll see you again soon. Stay safe!” Katy waved before kicking her horse into a gallop, Kate and Sam just behind her. Once again, they went from the Skyhold bridge to the Hinterlands where the portal was. Once they were back through the portal, they all gave a soft sigh.
“Welcome back,” the guard currently on duty bowed, smiling a little. He could tell they had been drinking. Not just by their appearance, but they reeked of alcohol. “I trust your trip was well spent?”
Katy laughed, snapping her fingers and changing the three of them back into their normal attire. “We will not be speaking of the events from last night. But yes, it was well spent, I think.”
“Both of you better not tell Dean.” Sam pointed at both Kate and Katy with a warning look in his eye, lighthearted but serious.
“Oh honey, I wouldn’t dream of doing that to you!” Kate replied, a hand on her chest. She was being a sarcastic little ass, something she, sadly for Sam, must have learned from Katy or Dean.
Sam narrowed his eyes, groaning at the response. If it was going to happen, it would happen and sam would never live it down. Dean would probably put in his will that Sam’s headstone would tell the events of the night prior. When he thought about it, it was honestly a little funny to picture.
“So, Katy. What are you gonna do now? Go back home for a bit?” Kate questioned.
“Yeah, probably.”
She nodded in response but stayed quiet. “Sam? Would you go check on Castiel, please? I’m sure Mary is ready for a break.”
He nodded and gave Katy a hug goodbye before leaving, the two women walking alongside each other as they headed for the exit.
“Did you have something you wanted to talk about?” Katy asked, looking over at her friend who wore seriousness.
“I’d like you to consider taking over as queen for me.”
Katy stopped in her tracks, Kate stopping a couple of steps in front of her. “What did you just ask me?”
“I’d like you to consider-”
“I heard you. Why? I made this for you, do you not want it anymore?”  Katy seemed a little hurt by the question.
Kate froze in alarm for a split-second and then shook her head quickly. “No! I love it, Katy. The only thing is that I don’t feel like a good queen. I would be better suited as Sergeant Major, not the queen of a country.”
“So you want to switch?”
“Precisely.” Katy sighed, looking away for a moment. Some time went by in silence so Kate spoke up again. “It’s just something I’d like you to consider. I don’t need an answer right away.”
Katy nodded, turning back to Kate with a forced smile. “Of course, Kate. If it’ll make you happy, I’ll think about it.”
Kate’s face brightened and she gave Katy a bear hug, thanking her profusely. “Enjoy your time at home!” With that, the two women parted ways and Katy headed home. She had something important to think about and knew it wouldn’t be a quick decision.

Catherine: Full Body Controversy...According to Kori
Disclaimer: Catherine is one of the few ATLUS games I didn’t particularly care about during it’s time under the sun, so there might be some information I get wrong. That being said, spoilers abound.
I’m just gonna preface this by asking why the fuck does people still care about Laura Kate Dale? Asides from joining the likes of Liam Robinson of the “Completely Discredited Leakers” club, and TotalBiscuit and Jesse Cox of the “TRAPS ARE TRANSPHOBIC REEEEEEEEEEEEEE” club, LKD is just one of those people that really, really needs to have most of their opinions disregarded. They are the sort that shouts their first thought, no matter how controversial and  outright wrong it may be. And instead of just admitting it was a knee-jerk reaction, they will double-down on their opinions.
So onto Catherine and the new girl, I do think she’s probably pre-op trans, since Vincent tends to mirror the situations his buddies goes through, such as a fake pregnancy scare, date rape, and the whole Nightmare dimension that tries to kill him and his fellow men thanks to their commitment issues. I say mirror, cause one of the game’s side quests lets you hook up a post-op transexual with Vincent’s unknowing buddy, and I’m pretty sure ATULS finds it amusing enough to let the insomniac man child Vincent is to go through the same situation and see where they can go with it.
I ain’t got no problem with that. Neither should you, considering that if Rin is a trans woman (or even just a trap), she gets the full package regarding her 3rd girl status (err...pun not intended). Multiple endings most likely with Vincent hooking up with her or ditching his silly ass, risqué art, her own path, she is going to be one of the most catered to trans women in gaming, in a JAPANESE game with already a positive and nuanced depiction of a transexual. You should be applauding ATLUS, kissing the ground they waltz on. You are getting that oh-so-bittersweet representation y’all are claiming you want, but of course you harpies are never satisfied.
What I DO have a problem with is Catherine, a game about a love triangle that spirals out of control and threaten to ruin one man’s life --or even end it outright, now making a “love square”. Ever since Persona 4 Golden and the Etrian Odyssey Untold remakes, I have absolutely no hope in the quality of the writing of these new scenarios they always add in these rereleases. Fuck, terrible additional content goes all the way back to PERSONA 3 FES, with The Answer. And this is one of the most invasive additions yet! Catherine was already a tightly-knit narrative, a damn good one with that. It’s one of the few games I honestly think is legit “smart” and had me thinking about my own views of marriage, infidelity, and love, and I am FAR AWAY from those circumstances. Fuck, it ruins the twist that Vincent technically never cheated in the first place, especially if Rin is actually real (I expect if she isn’t trans, she will be an angel, possibly both considering how angels are depicted in some Biblical texts). She’s an unnecessarily addition, and it won’t help the writing or story.
I don’t think it will be a “bad” remake by normal stances. It adds online play, upscales the resolution, make it run beautifully now that it’s away from the jank mess of a system architecture that is the PS3/XBOX 360. Hell, there could even be some option that turns off the new content, as cowardly that would be. But it will be another game ATLUS fucked up for no reason other than “because they can”. Because they want your money. I’m just as tired of ATLUS doing this shit just as I am tired of the usual suspects getting up-in-arms and riling themselves and everyone else because they can’t put .02 cents in the critical thinking machine.
Stop letting ATLUS fuck up their great stories, stop being an irrational jackass that sniffs out the latest controversy for the hell of it, stop listening to motherfucking Laura Kate Dale, just stop.
Peace out, I’m going to go play BINGO.
