I just started The Gilded Age for Bertha and George and probably watch for them and gowns, beautiful gowns. Anyways any book rec where MC is obsessed with FC ? ( Like also my good boy Anthony B).

Yup! Like Anthony steals Kate's caps in the book and insistently sniffs her whenever she's around in the show, here are some obsessed hero recs.

Historical Recs:

The following Lisa Kleypas heroes:

Derek Craven from Dreaming of You: Immediate obsession, he steals Sara's glasses to keep as a token, has sex with a prostitute who he pretends is her even after he told her to leave him (the self-loathing with this one is real).

Kev Merripen from Seduce Me at Sunrise: Kev's one love/obsession since he was a boy was always Win, but he stayed away "for her own good" because he feels like his love would destroy her (both metaphorically and literally. as in his dick would.). It's hypothesized he'd poison himself if Win died during one of her childhood illnesses. He also has this insane(ly gorgeous) speech that he delivers very grimly(!) about his love for her.

McKenna from Again the Magic: He haaaaates that he's obsessed with Aline after everything that went down when they were separated, but literally the whole plot is that he hasn't gotten over her to the point where he wants *revenge* like a decade later, and that revenge mostly consists of him debauching her at various locations in Stony Cross Park.

Westcliff from It Happened One Autumn: He'd probably hate that he's included on this list because he prides himself on being a *rational* man, but when a rational man jumps his love interest multiple times even as he's apologizing for whatever's come over him, hea obsessed in my books.

Crispin from Duke of Depravity by Scarlett Scott: Man spends much of the book chasing after Jacinda, his sisters' governess, like a DOG, falls asleep on her tits after calling them "the finest bubbies in christendom", and repeatedly steals her fichus and smells them while jacking off.

Harrison from The Truth About Cads and Dukes by Elisa Braden: The obsession takes a little longer to develop but once Harrison is gone, he's GONE. He has a fixation with her hands to the point where her flipping pages of a book makes him hard and he warns his friend off looking at her hands.

Dain from Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase: Another hero who hates how gone he is for the heroine but he literally can't get Jessica out of his mind to the point where he's shoving her against a lamp post (?) on a street and making out with her because he literally cannot control himself. I'm pretty sure he also has ptsd Eton hazing flashbacks solely because of her voice.

Lockwood from The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe: So Lockwood is a little more quietly obsessed with Nellie but what's notable is that the obsession on his end carries over three books before he finally makes his move. He's also very much the instigator of their affair.

Contemporary Recs:

Salvatore from The Don by Katrina Jackson: I remember Salvatore being literally so obsessed with Shay and it deffo gets more intense because she's pregnant with his child and there's a mafia plot going on.

Maxim from the All the King's Men duology by Kennedy Ryan: Obsessed, GONE for Lennix right off the bat, and you don't super expect the level of possessiveness (at least I didn't because he's a liberal and all enlightened and whatnot lolol) but it's there and it's honestly very hot. Listen, that tracker he secretly hid in her bracelet (?) paid off, ok.

Mateo from Lush Money by Angelina M. Lopez: Another hero who hates how obsessed he is from Roxanne especially since he's using her for money and she's using him for a baby but it's there and it's great.

Fausto from Mafia Mistress by Mila Finelli: Obsessed with Frankie to the point where he abandons the original plan of getting her engaged to his son and sleeps with her instead. Will also gift body parts of enemies as grovel gifts.

Enzo from Mafia Madman by Mila Finelli: I just think mafia romances in general are a great vehicle for writing super obsessed, mildly crazy heroes and Enzo is such a great example of that because he wants to break Gia at first (the way Fausto did to him) by kidnapping her and putting her in his yacht cage, but instead man's like, fully chasing her across his yacht and jumping her at every opportunity.

Sevastyan from The Professional by Kresley Cole: This one has a bit of a forbidden obsession aspect; Sevastyan is supposed to deliver Natalie to her mafiya dad in Russia, who is also his boss, but literally watches her masturbate (yes he was stalking her but it was the job) before kidnapping her out of a bathtub, chases her in a Nebraskan cornfield, and has sex with her even before their plane touches down.

Andrew from Sink or Swim by Tessa Bailey: Obsessed with Jiya since they were kids and his fantasies took on a particular flavor, he stays celibate for a number of years because he can't get it up with anyone but her after a certain point. He's also a service top so her wish is literally his command.

James from Rough Rhythm by Tessa Bailey: Shocking that Tessa Bailey uses to write shit like this buuuut James is Lita's band manager and after an initial (rough) sexual encounter when she was homeless and 18, she became a part of the band and James was the one who got her on birth control and kept all guys away from her (to the point of beating up a few??) until they finally have sex again a few years later.

In the last few weeks, I read two working romances in a row and I knew I had to make a post about this trope.

Currently, I'm looking for more historicals in which the heroine is a working girl. I don't think I've read many of them, but one of my absolute favorites is Miracle on Ladies' Mile by Joanna Shupe, so if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it!

Fun Fact: The Hating Game (a classic) is one of my faves and I think it was the book that started my love for this trope

Queen Diana and Prince Gerhard Host a Garden Party in Emperor Napoléon V's Honor at Willington Palace Garden

After a busy first day in SimDonia, the Francesim State Visit winds down with a soiree in the Palace Gardens. The beautiful space was the perfest setting for the occasion. Special details in the decor featured flower flown in from Francesim.

The Palace Gardens always make a perfect spot for parties especially considering Willington Palace serving as a stunning backdrop. Desserts, a light lunch, and tea was served to the guests in attendance. Guests included were SimDonia Nobles, philanthropic donors, reknowned artists and more.

Special guests of the Queen and Prince were expecting parents, TRH Grand Duke and Duchess of Cypress representing the Dukedom and Lord Jackson Brooks of Ophelia with his wife, Grand Countess Karen representing Parliament.

The Emperor along with Prince Gerhard, Lord Jonathan and the Queen spent some time talking near the harpists before posing for a photo. Prince Gerhard wore a white suit with a pink tie and vest while the Emperor wore darker colors as he's in mourning. The Queen wore a pastel purple dress and fascinator.

The party certainly looked like a great time had by all!

I brainstormed some epithets for my PCs I can finally be like the cool people who have titles for theirs.

I thought of some myself already:

Naarael the Beacon - Also maybe "the Hopeful", "the Innocent", "the Holy" or "the Pure", idk which I'll go with, they're all pretty basic but effective in description for her.

Mari the Forsaken - Feels a little too edgy but this is my everything is terrible save so maybe it all works out lol. Also thought of "the Tainted", "the Hunted", "the Outcast", "the Shattered", or "the Broken". Ngl, these all sound like Creepypasta OCs I would have made in like 2014.

Onyx the Depraved - I really like this one because he kind of sounds like an RPG villain. Some of the in-game things are pretty fun too like "the Needle" or the "Allfather".

Oasis the Freed - This one is a play of the whole free bird saying, I don't have any alts for this one.

Jackson the Alpha - Stolen from Black Wolf, just like in the actual game! >:]

Katrina the Diamond - Based on the idea that loads of pressure and polishing make diamonds. Also thought of "the Resolute", "the illustrious", "the Untouchable". I'm not entirely sure what exact vibe I want her to give off but these are all pretty much the same.

Rafael the Shady - I like this one but I like "the Shifty" slightly more, also have "the Spiteful" but it's really only towards Remy so maybe not the most apt description for him but it sounds nice at least.

So with any prophesy we know we can't exactly trust it but just imagine if at camp half blood a prophesy got out along the lines of

A child of the vine, will bring about a time of, restlessness and peace.

And everyone thinks it's a child of Demeter or Dionysus and so those kids start trying to bring the camp together only for the camp to start getting restless.

Then some new campers come in one week and one is a child of hermes and he somehow gets everyone to rest and be peaceful

The child of hermes is actually the "hurrican Katrina more like hurrican tortilla" kids

When the kids in camp who know what vine are find out they realise and possibly try and fight Apollo for the terrible pun and terrible haikyu

I just realized something about how I write the DOLverse.

Under cut because I doubt many want to read a small fuckton about a couple DOL OCs lol. Ramble incoming:

So first and foremost, I write all my PCs as existing at the same time in one "save" and that leads to this revelation.

Mari's life fuckin' sucks in the friend group because they're practically surrounded by their abusers, AKA their friends' partners/conquests.

Onyx isn't romantically involved with Leighton but is still HEAVILY INVOLVED with him, I mean, they already can't avoid the bastard at school but now they constantly have to hear about how Onyx dominated and absolutely babygirled that man because there's no way in Hell the incubus wouldn't brag about it. This coupled with the photoshoots and detentions is definitely not good for that poor fox's mental state. Yikes.

Katrina is Avery's new sugarbabe after Mari "dismissed" him AKA Avery just fucks off and finds some other trophy (y'all already know how I feel about that event), so Mari just sees Katrina get into that expensive car every morning and just panics. Katrina seems fine so Avery's probably treating her much better than he treated them but still, seeing their friend sneaking out in formal wear every Saturday does still make them feel ill.

Oh ho ho, but I saved the definite worst for last.

I accidentally created a goldmine of angst and probably the greatest potential fallout between OCs ever in my years of character creation.

Jackson and motherfuckin' Whitney, the bully who not only torments Mari at every turn but also MADE THEM FALL. The worst thing to ever happen to Mari was having their purity ripped from them and subsequently falling because of it. Jackson knows Whit is a total weasel bastard pos of a person, it'd be hard not to know, but MAN. The fact that Whitney can just, like, hang out the orphanage and the alleyways next to them is probably nightmare-inducing to poor Mari. They probably rush past the park on rainy days because seeing one of their friend cuddled up with that monster would be hard to stomach.
