Gin is a Dick in Every Sense of the Word
I've fallen headfirst into Ginzura and I didn't have time to make a new account on A03 but I wrote two fics in two days which is nothing short of amazing. I'm putting this here.
Gin is a Dick, in Every Sense of the Word
Explicit, no warnings. Some angst and pining and slight Katsumatsu (Is that the term? With the ramen shop girl) Takes place during the second movie.
Katsura doesn't trust the new leader of the Yorozuya and deicides to take matters into his own hands. Originally it was just "Katsura figures out Gin is Gin and misses him enough he fucks the ugly penis man", but I let him have some real Gin as a treat.
They had been searching for hours with no clues, and even Gin was beginning to get disheartened. It was hard not to, there was no end to the filthy alleyways and trash festering in the dark corners of the city. He’d almost sworn he’d been down this specific alleyway when he felt a presence behind his back. Someone with some skill, he hadn’t heard them approach. Hand on his bokuto, he whirled around, and found a familiar silhouette.
“Zura?”
The other man glared through his one good eye. (Was the other eye really bad? He’d known Katsura and his costumes long enough that it wouldn’t surprise him if the bandages were just for show. Zura was nothing if not committed to the bit. “It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura.” It had more bite to it than his usual retort. “And I still haven’t accepted you, you know.”
“Then it’s good that I don’t care, Zura.” he turned back around.
“It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura,” he repeated, “and I still haven’t figured out your motives. Leader has become a beautiful woman, but she can protect herself better than I could. Emotionally, though, I fear she’s vulnerable, as is Shinpachi-kun.” he continued to glare. “You’re sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. Back off.”
“You do a lot of protecting from inside a prison cell, Runaway Kotarou?” he muttered back. “It’s not like you to let something like prison bars get in your way.”
Katsura edged closer. “They said you’re Gintoki’s sworn brother. I’ve known him as long as he’s known himself. He’s never had any sworn brothers, and definitely not an amanto.”
“So you’ve known him all that time?” Gintoki growled. “Never off doing your own thing? Playing tag with the Shinsengumi? Get over yourself, Zura. He had his own life.”
He was surprised when a katana embedded itself into the building behind him. “I knew him better than anyone! He wouldn’t have kept such a thing from me. “ His eye hardened. “Don’t think the clothes mean anything. He left his clothes everywhere. I have a set at home. And the bokuto is mail order. He’s had dozens of them.”
Gin pushed the sword out of the way. “He told me all about you, Zura. He said you’re a busybody who can’t keep his nose out on Gin-san’s business. Don’t you have a ramen lady to not seduce?”
“It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura, and she’s lying next to her husband, as she would have wanted.” Katsura replied. “Another failing on my part. Don’t change the subject.”
That hit him. When Zura fell, he fell hard. He’d probably never so much as touched her hand without paying for his soba, but it was obvious he had been smitten. The future was not kind to Katsura. “I’m sorry.”
“I don’t need your sympathy.”
Gintoki turned and really looked at him. “Did you really lose an eye?” he asked, his voice wavering.
“I may not look it, but I was the top rebel in this city. I had information that the Shinsengumi would kill for. An eye or two was a small price to pay for their safety.” He reached up and touched the bandage. “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
So he still had his ideals. “But seriously, you’re Runaway Kotaro. You escape. You want me to believe you spent five years rotting in a jail cell?”
“What does it matter to you?” Katsura replied archly. “I seem to remember you coming for my head personally.”
Gin gulped. “That was, you know… I panicked.”
Katsura crossed his arms, folding them into his sleeves. “Panicked?” he repeated. “I haven’t forgotten you brought Leader and Shinpachi-kun to the execution. That was dangerous.”
“Dangerous?!” Gin returned. “You almost got beheaded! Why didn’t you fight?”
Katsura sighed, closing his eyes. “I had reason to believe I would be rescued. Why did it matter so much to you?”
“Mattered to me?! What about you?! You think I don’t know you could have taken out all those guards yourself if you wanted to? What were you doing, letting it just happen? ‘It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura’. “That’s what was important?”
“My name is Katsura.” he replied. “I don’t remember giving any Amanto permission to call me by any nickname.”
“So it’s because I’m an Amanto? You didn’t let Gin-san call you that.”
“It never stopped him.” Katsura’s eye was still closed. “You know, you sound like him.”
“Do I?” shit, Zura of all people wasn’t observant enough to see past the disguise was he? He was an idiot, but he could be smarter than anyone if the mood hit him. “We were a lot alike.”
“Not just the sound of your voice.” Katsura clarified, voice wary. “The way you speak is just like him. When did you meet him?”
“You don’t believe me.”
“I might, if you give me a proper explanation.”
“You know, after the war.”
“But before you met Leader and Shinpachi-kun?”
Shit, no, he knew too much about them to have met before he met them. “We first met before them, but we kept in touch. We spoke often.”
There was a long pause. “And he really told you I was a busybody who stuck his nose where it didn’t belong?” Katsura’s good eye was hidden behind his bangs, but he looked like he was about to cry.
“Well, that was, you know…” Gin backtracked. “You two knew each other during the war. Before that, even. You were friends. As much brothers as we were.” Was that what Zura wanted?
“Brothers?” Katsura snorted. “Is Gintoki the kind of man that fucks his brothers?”
Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit. “He, you know…” Back then, during the war, it had happened. Not a lot, but it had definitely happened. He never thought Zura would speak of it, least of all to a complete stranger. “He didn’t fuck me, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“You didn’t ask. I apologize.” Katsura replied. His voice was unreadable.
“Are you okay?” Gin lifted a hand to rest on Katsura’s shoulder, then thought better of it. “You know, Gin-san could be a real jerk sometimes, but he wasn’t a monster. I’m sure he cared about you.”
“I was convenient.” Katsura said. His shoulders shook slightly. “I don’t know why I’m telling you this.”
“Wait, if Gin-san wanted convenient, there were other places to go. He wouldn’t risk a friendship over convenience.” Shit shit shit. Katsura fell hard. What had he been thinking? That it was good to be alive after a battle you were sure to die in? That Katsura was the most beautiful fucking thing at camp? The breathy way he accepted Gin’s advances, the way he arched into him? It hadn’t really been love, but it hadn’t been just sex either, not with Zura. Not with his best friend.
Zura had never mentioned it afterwards, never shown any inclination to continue what they had started. But Zura was the king of pining, and when he fell, it was like a dam breaking. “Listen. Is that why you were so messed up? Because of Gin-san? He wouldn’t want you to be feeling down about him. He’d want you to be fucking MILFS like nobody’s business. He’d want you to be a stud.”
“What do you know?!” Zura’s voice cracked, and his shoulders shook roughly. “What the fuck would you know?!”
Gin faltered. “I know he wouldn’t want to hurt you.” he finally offered. “And if he knew he’d cocked up everything royally, he’d feel terrible.” There was no response. “Come on. Hit me. It won’t make it better, but it’ll help. Call me an asshole, tell me I solve all my problems with my dick. You’re too good to waste away pining after a jerk like Gin-san.”
Katsura was definitely crying, tears trailing from his one good eye. “What would you know?” he asked again, voice shaking.
This time Gin finally put his hand on the other man’s shoulder. “You’re right. I don’t know anything. I’m an asshole, Zura, I break things I care about.” He was startled but not really surprised when Zura threw himself into his arms. “If it helps, cry. You don’t need to hold it in.”
“He didn’t trust me.” Katsura sobbed. “He came to talk about the past. He must have known I’d go anywhere with him. All he had to do was speak the word, but instead…”
“He trusted you with his life.” Gin replied weakly. “I’m sure he didn’t want you to get involved.”
“I was convenient.” Katsura repeated tearfully. That night, just like back at the wars…”
Shit.
“I knew he wasn’t serious, anymore than he was back then, but we were talking, and then his hands were on me, and then…” Katsura choked. “He was gone when I woke up. He always was. I never saw him again. That was the last time I saw him, he was holding me and telling me I was beautiful, just like the old days, and I let him. I let him use me, and then I let him go.”
Shit. If he could have gotten alone with his past self, he would have kicked the shit out of him. Zura was sensitive, Zura was lonely. Zura wasn’t some sort of fucking toy to play with. “I’m so sorry.”
“You smell like him.”
“Does it bother you? I can let go.”
“No, no.” Katsura sniffled. “It’s nice.”
What on earth had he been thinking back then? Faced with the destruction of the world, he had possibly sought the one safe haven he knew of, Zura, who was always there for him, who never complained, never turned him away. He’d taken the easy route and given into his most basic urges.
And he’d torn Zura’s heart out.
Zura’s breath was coming more evenly now, his face buried in Gin’s shirt. He was still beautiful in this era, a little thinner and weaker, probably from the long prison stay. Even the bandage, which should have reminded him of Takasugi, just emphasized the lines of his face.
It hadn’t been love back then because Gin hadn’t let it be. His heart was too guarded, he was too broken. He’d felt feelings for Zura he couldn’t define, that he’d refused to define. Even with the whole world crumbling, if he could go back, it would be not to the past of five years ago but to the distant past of the joi wars, to the nights he’d first gone seeking for Zura’s warmth, and stayed. Ran his hair through the beautiful long hair, kissed the parched and broken lips, let himself wake up next to the man he’d cared so deeply about.
What would his life be like now, if he had done that?
Katsura shifted. At first Gin thought he was losing consciousness, but he slipped through Gin’s fingers and fell lightly to his knees. Gin was still processing the action when he felt fingers reaching for his pants.
Shit. Shit shit shit.
“No, you don’t want to do this. You’re sad, and you’re lonely, and, and…”
“Shut up.” Katsura replied. “I’m here, and you’re here, and I’m convenient. Let me be useful.”
“No, no no. This is wrong, Zura, no, Katsura-san-”
“It’s Zura.” Katsura hissed. His mouth was dangerously close to Gin’s crotch.
“Zura, then. You don’t really want to-”
“Shut up!” Katsura snapped. “Don’t think I haven’t spent the last five years thinking of what I would do if I met you again. You owe me this.” He shifted, pinning Gin against the wall. His hands finished opening the pants and reached inside. Regrettably, Gin’s dick was already half hard and firming up by the second. Katsura freed it from the strawberry boxers and stared at it for a second like he was making a decision.
“Zura, please don’t do this.”
“You don’t want it?” Katsura hissed roughly. “You don’t want me?”
“God, Zura, I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anyone in my life. Not just your mouth, everything. But this isn’t right.”
“It’s right.” Zura insisted. Before Gin could say another word, Zura’s mouth closed over his cock and the world shuddered.
“Fuck, Zura.”
Katsura pulled off for a second. “That’s the general idea, yes.” He put his mouth back on Gin. His mouth was soft and hot, he was perfect and pliant, he was everything Zura always was. But it was wrong. He had no right to feel this good, he had no right to touch Zura after all the crap he’d pulled. But Zura took him in deeper, caving in his cheeks, putting everything into it. His deep voice was coming in soft grunts, his fingers were gently cradling Gin’s balls.
“Fuck, shit.” he clenched his teeth. “Fuck, Zura.” his mind was blown free of thoughts, but he happened to glance down and saw Zura, cock disappearing into his perfect mouth, tears still wet on his good eye. It made his knees go weak. “Zura, wait.”
Zura pulled off again. “You’re breaking my concentration. Shut up.” He moved to take Gin’s cock again but he was stopped. “Don’t do this now, Gintoki.”
“Listen, let me do this right. Let me fuck you. Please, let me fuck you.”
Katsura smiled without opening his eyes. “Do you have any idea what you look like? Don’t make me look at you.”
“Against the wall, then. Please, you have no idea how much I want this…”
“One hole or another, then. Whatever you like.” Katsura replied. With a slight grunt he rose to his feet.
“You’re not a fucking hole, Zura.” Gin hissed. He pulled the other man in for a rough kiss.
Katsura slapped him playfully. “Seriously, you look like a giant penis. Don’t touch me with that face.” He lifted his yukata and tucked it into his obi. “No lube, I assume.”
“I won’t hurt you, Zura.” He stuck two fingers into Zura’s mouth and his dick twitched when he felt a soft tongue play along his fingers. He waited until they were thick with saliva and then pulled out, parting Katsura gently. He took one finger easily, two a little more slowly. The noises were amazing, whimpers and gasps and deep needy whines barely muffled by a hand. Gin tried to focus on his task. He’d fucked up everything so badly, he couldn’t fuck this up. He cupped Zura’s face to pull him in for a kiss and was pushed away. “Okay, fine, you win, Zura.” he pulled the wart off and stuck it to the wall. “I don’t even know if it’ll work again if I take it off, but there! Now you’ll touch me, right?”
Katsura’s eyes watered. “Look at you, Gintoki. You haven’t changed a bit.” He turned so his back was against the alley wall, lifting his hips to give Gin the best possible access.
“Shut up, just shut up and kiss me you idiot.” He spat on his fingers and went for a second round of slickening. Katsura bucked, burying his head in Gin’s shoulder with a needy cry. Their lips met and their tongues roamed hungrily. Gin wanted to do everything at once, he let his fingers leave Zura’s ass and grabbed his legs, hoisting them around his waist. They met for another bruising kiss. “You ready?” he spit on his palm and used it for a last little bit of lubrication.
“You have no idea, Gintoki.”
He was slow, slow as he possibly could be, he was already fucking things up literally and metaphorically, the last thing he wanted to do was hurt Zura in some filthy alleyway in the middle of a doomed future, but Zura sunk down on him inch by inch until their hips were connected and his vision went dark for a second. “God you’re tight, Zura, is it okay, does it hurt? Can I move?”
Zura hissed and sunk his face into the hollow of Gin’s shoulder. He mumbled something.
“What’s that?”
“Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me now, Gintoki!” he yelled into bare skin.
“Can do.” He thrust, and Zura slid on him, and there was a delicious gasp, and there was nothing in this world anymore but him and Zura and a few feet of wall that supported him. He fucked hard and deep, a pace that might have been to much for a woman, but Zura rose and fell against him in perfect synchronicity. He hissed out words like a chant, “You’re perfect, Zura, God, I’m almost there already, you’re so tight, so perfect, you’re doing so well, just like that, keep going-”
Zura’s arms were clamped on his shoulders but kept his legs loose enough to give Gin room to move. His voice was high, and loud, verging on sobs as he swore, begged and gasped against the pleasure. It was too much, it was too good, there wasn’t a lot he could do that wouldn’t risk dropping the other man but he managed to wind his fingers around Zura’s cock to stroke him off. Hopefully it wouldn’t be long, he couldn’t last much longer like this, but then he heard a choked sob and felt Zura release into his hand as his body clenched involuntarily around Gin. That was it, he buried deep and released his seed and fell slowly to his knees, spent in every sense of the term. Zura was in his lap now, still twitching and gasping and making the most delightful noises, riding off the afterglow, and more than anything Gin wished they had a nice futon so they could just get comfortable. He buried his face in Zura’s long hair and sighed. “Was it good for you?”
“Give me a minute.” Zura mumbled.
“Better than a blow job?”
“Would you shut up?” Zura spat. “I’m trying to make a memory. You’ll be leaving soon, won’t you?”
Gin sighed into Zura’s shoulder. “I shouldn’t be in this world. I’m here to help. I don’t know what will happen when I find what I’m looking for.”
“I… see.” Zura said quietly.
Gin sighed again. “I’m not the Gin of your world, I don’t know him. I don’t know what he was thinking when he went to you that night before he left. But I know me, and I know you, and I know it wasn’t just some convenient hole that beckoned to him. It was you, Zura, it was all you.”
There was a long pause, and then Zura slid off his cock. “I see. Thank you.”
“Are you going to be okay?” Gin asked with genuine sincerity. “Do I need to carry you somewhere?”
“I’ll be fine.” Zura answered. He pulled his hair back and Gin noticed that his bandage had drooped, and there was a considerable scar on his bad eyelid.
“They really did a number on you.” He reached out and stroked the scar gently with his thumb.
“I’ve had worse.” Zura replied simply. He stood on unsteady legs and began to straighten his clothes.
“Oi, Zura, are you okay?” Gin asked. “Give yourself some time.”
“I’ve been fucked up the ass before, Gintoki. I’ll be fine.”
“But are you really?”
“I promise.” He stretched his back and smiled down at Gin. “I’m glad I followed you.” He pulled something off the wall and stuck it to Gin’s forehead. “Let’s see if your penis man disguise still works.”
“I’m really just a huge penis, then?”
“Yep.” Katsura smiled. “It’s awful. You should find a mirror or something.”
“No wonder Kagura treated me like that.”
“Leader is Leader. She does what she wants.” Zura offered. “You should go to them. They’ve missed you terribly. Everyone has.” His voice wavered slightly. “You mean a lot to so many people, Gintoki. Never forget that.”
Gin finally stood up, zipping his pants closed and adjusting his kimono so it looked a little less like he’d been getting busy in an alleyway. It was bad enough he was making the kids walk around with a giant penis, he didn’t need them knowing the disgusting thing was having sex. “Hey, Zura? One more kiss?”
“You’re a dick.” Zura was carding his long hair back into place.
Gin grabbed him by the hip. “Then close your eyes and make a memory, eh?” He wouldn’t, not if Zura didn’t want to, but after a hesitant second Zura closed his eye and tipped up his head. Despite everything, Gin felt his mouth go a little dry. Romantic wasn’t his thing, but for Zura… he dipped his head down and awkwardly pressed his lips to the other man’s. Not rough like earlier, none of the frenzied passion, just affection. Zura whimpered softly, leaning into him. His hands left Zura’s hips and raised to cup his face. Zura’s arms wrapped around his shoulders. They’d just finished having sex, but Gin felt his heart churn in a different way, that confusing, lost way he’d always felt back in the day. It wasn’t so bad after all. Their lips parted.
“Gintoki…” Zura sighed, long and shaky. “Thank you.” he finally said again.
“Stop thanking me. It’s not something I’m doing because I owe you.” Zura had his back turned again, and he looked like he was on the verge of tears again. “Hey, Zura,” Gin said lightly. “If your Gin is still in this world and I find him, I’ll kick his ass for breaking your heart. Send him back to you to patch him up. You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”
Zura turned back, a sad smile on his lips. “Yeah, I’d like that.” Gin hesitated. “Go. You have things you need to do, Gintoki. I’ll be on standby if you need me.” he paused. “I’m no general. I have no troops, no honor or bushido. But for all I’ve lost, I missed being your Zura most.” The smile on his lips was heavenly.
Gin gritted his teeth. “I’ll be seeing you then, Zura.” He realized as he was saying it that it probably wasn’t true, but Zura didn’t call him out on it. He wouldn’t. With one last look, Gin ran down the alleyway. There were still things he needed to do.
—
A lot went through Gin’s head when he met himself, broken and covered in strange runes. But even as he learned about the dark secrets of this ruined world, he couldn’t help himself. “You broke Zura’s heart.” he said accusingly. “I said I’d bring him back to you.”
“Then it’s a good thing you’re used to lying to Zura.” the other Gin said.
Gin felt the anger in his throat. “What were you thinking? You know how he is. Why would you-”
“Why would you?” the other Gin countered. “I can smell him on you. You used him too, didn’t you? You’re leaving him. You’re no different than me.”
Gin snarled. “Tell me he was convenient. Go ahead, tell me he was available. You wanted one last hurrah before you lost control of your dick. Tell me he didn’t mean anything. I’ll kill you again, you ugly bastard.”
The other Gin sighed. “What do you think? Why did we ever go to Zura? Because he was Zura, and we were Gin-san, and there was something there we couldn’t ignore. He wasn’t a convenience. I don’t know what he was, any more than you do.” He coughed up more blood. “He’ll be okay. He’s strong.”
Gin wavered. “He wasn’t supposed to be strong. We were supposed to be there to support him.” He had a thousand things to say, about Zura and whether or not he’d be okay in this dead world, but the other Gin’s words had struck him, and he felt filthy. He’d used Zura again.
The other Gin smiled weakly. “You’re about to break his heart again. Go on, hero, save the day.”
Gin swore and ran off to the roof. His cowardice followed him.
—
The world was normal again, like nothing had ever happened. The Yorozuya was doing well, and things were going perfectly.
“Hey, Zura.”
“It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura.”
“Yeah, I know.” Gin smiled. He’s missed the retort. “Listen, if you want to get with the ramen shop girl, I’ll do anything in my power to help.”
Zura blushed fiercely. “Don’t be obscene, Gintoki! I’ve told you, it’s not about her, it’s about the soba!”
“Yeah, yeah. Sure.” Gin chuckled. “But listen, you’re selling yourself short. You’ve got a lot to offer. Stop worrying about whether or not you’re good enough.”
“You’re disgusting. Don’t talk to me.” Zura huffed, pulling his straw hat down to cover the blush.
Gin watched him for a second. “Hey, Zura?”
“It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura.”
“Sure, sure.” Gin laughed again. “Before that, can we talk?”
“I told you not to talk to me.” Zura huffed.
“Not about that. About the old days.”
Zura glanced at him. “How unusual for you, Gintoki. Did something happen?”
“No, nothing like that. It’s just, there’s some things that I think should have been addressed a long time ago.”
Zura pulled back. “What happened, Gintoki? This isn’t like you.”
“Yeah, I know. Gin-san’s trying something different. The kids will be staying at Shinpachi’s house for the night, you can come over any time. A few drinks, a little chat. Nothing’s changing, I promise.”
For a second, Gin swore the blush was back. Zura averted his eyes. “You know I don’t drink.”
“Yeah, I know. I’ll do the drinking. You just be there.” Not too much drinking, whatever happened, he wanted to be present for it. He had to be.
Zura stared at him, judging his actions. Finally he spoke again. “Tonight, then, Gintoki. I’ll be there.”
“Good man, Zura.”
“It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura.”
