Seasons Come, Seasons Go

This is the start of my own Legend of Zelda/ Linked Universe story. It starts one year after the end of Minish Cap, and novelizes Four's journey through Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures before getting tossed through a portal to meet with eight other Links!

Zeffa

When Link was a child, he saved Hyrule from the evil Minish Vaati with the help of a very special friend.

Years later, he realizes that friend is a lot more special than he knew.

Zeffa is a little one-shot set in my Seasons!AU but after the Chain has already been traveling together for a while.

...so my queue is at 1000 posts and that's apparently the most you can queue at a time. I've already upped my queue to like 25 posts a day. There's just so much good art!!! And posts!!! I can't help it.

Also, because some of these posts that are about to be going up were probably queued months ago, feel free to shoot me a message if anything is out of date, or by a known TERF, or something else that I probably am not aware of.

Also, if I need to tag things with a trigger warning, please let me know. I use the fast-queue button most of the time, so very few things are actually tagged; but if I get a request to tag things for triggers I do not mind at all.

Seven Sentence Sunday Oooh I got tagged by various people over the last week or so for WIP meme-y goodness! @poetikat @dancingwiththefae @katwritesthings.

I have so many wips and a few WIPs "on deck" to tackle next. This Ciri post-game canon thing is one of three WIPs I'm hoping to circle back to this month. I shared another snippet of this story in July.

Ciri has spent years learning how to move through her melancholy like it was a portal, navigating through the fog to survive. It’s always present, artfully compartmentalized in spite of her successes in retaking Cintra. No matter how long she spends ensuring the reconstruction is going to plan, keeping an eye on everything that could and would go wrong and mitigating risk to her people, the sadness is—as Dandelion might put it—in the marrow of her bones. She is Queen Cirilla The Icy Flame of Cintra, but sometimes the grief seeps into the rest of her body, slowing her mind and heart.

She feels nothing like a queen.

After another long day of meetings that ran well into the night, Ciri makes her way to a particular balcony overlooking the city, grateful for the brisk air on her cheeks. She forgoes the responsibility of decent sleep and instead watches the city of Cintra from afar.

The Witcher Comment Crawl Guide to Crawling

How it works 

The Witcher Comment Crawl will provide you with:

An event post with a list of fanworks.

A designated window of time (7-10 days) in which to read, review and comment on the fanworks. (The goal here is to center the community around the same thing at the same time!)

Daily recommendation posts of each fanwork during the event window that contain talking points and ideas for how to start your comment. 

A form for you to submit comments for fanworks where you don't have a social media account or wish to comment anonymously.

Optional achievement badges! You can claim and share your badges wherever you want. Leave a comment on a fanwork, claim a theme-participant badge! Follow a new creator you discover from the Crawl? Claim a badge!

An optional spreadsheet with links and details of all the fanworks. Tumblr feeds go by really quickly and we don’t want you to miss anything! 

An optional spreadsheet to keep track of the number of comments you leave every event, which you can use to claim more achievement badges!

If you don’t have the time or ability to comment during the official event window, that’s okay! Please leave comments even if it’s been a day, a week, or a month after the event has concluded. 

Our ultimate goal is to provide you a list of amazing fanworks so you can leave feedback for the creators and have fun. Read! Review! Comment! Share the love! 💬❤️

Code of Conduct 

We understand that not every canon, character, ship, or characterization and trope will be to everybody's tastes. 

Be respectful and courteous in your comments.

If there is a canon or character or pairing that you don’t like, you are not obligated to read it or look at it. DO NOT leave them a negative comment.

Do not leave unsolicited constructive criticism or critiques.    

Do not leave racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. remarks in your comment.

Do not leave comments along the lines of ‘I hate this ship but like the art.’

Do not ask the creator for sequels or give the creator unsolicited prompts. We are focusing on the individual fanworks only. If you are interested in more fanworks, look at the creator’s feeds and bookmarks to discover more of what they like and make. 

If the mods discover you have left a hateful or character/ship-bashing comment you will be blocked from viewing the community’s posts. 

Creators are not obligated to reply to comments.

They have already gifted us with their fanwork. They may have any number of reasons why they can’t or won’t respond to comments.

Some creators might not know how to respond to comments and will be too shy to engage. That’s their prerogative. 

Other creators may be thrilled and might even answer any questions you have about their work. You never know what you might learn! Always be respectful when you ask questions in your comments.

Okay, so before the fragments, I thought I'd have some cathartic confession of half finished stuff in my writing folder.

And now, in no particular order...

1. Witcher

The first time Geralt caught Jaskier in a back alley, on his knees and wiping his mouth, it was just after they'd first met.

The brooding witcher stared at him while the man Jaskier had finished servicing dropped coins on the ground.

Jaskier ignored the man patting him on the shoulder and walking away. All he could feel was the unbearable weight of Geralt's stare. It felt like a physical blow to his skull.

"Are you just going to gawk or do you want something, dear witcher?" Jaskier asked, looking up as he pocketed the coins from the dirt.

2. Loki

The glitching only started after he spoke to not-his-Mobius. When the agent had stared blankly at him and asked who he was.

It was a question that hurt, not only because this Mobius didn't know him, but because Loki had often asked himself the same thing.

A chameleon. A trickster. A shapeshifter. These were all things Loki did, but who was he?

3. Our Flag Means Death

Stede let out a long breath as the altar boy fiddled with the drawer in the vestry. He really ought to get someone to build the church a new set because at some point they weren't going to be able to open it any longer and would have to smash the thing to get everything out.

He could see the boy sweating and Stede tried not to watch him too closely, distracting himself with ensuring the cords were on the right pages of the Bible. Honestly, he had heard the boy cuss before and didn't want to openly hear it again. He'd rather avoid the conflict.

4. Stranger Things

Steve stood by the bed, his hands twisting the edge of his shirt. He looked so small, all 5 foot 11 inches of him standing there and radiating nerves.

"Tell me what you want, sweetheart," Eddie crooned from the bedroom door. His hands clutched around the open door frame, allowing him to swing nonchalantly.

"I, um-" Steve stammered, opening and shutting his mouth while he tried to think of how to say the words floating around his head. He bit his lip again, making it red and swollen.

5. Midnight Mass

Riley leaned against the doorframe, looking at John standing on his path with his hands in his pockets.

"It's chilly tonight," he said, noting John's lack of a jacket despite it being almost winter.

John shrugged, walking up to the door, then stopped. He looked past Riley into the house, an eager look passing over his eyes.

"Can I come in?"

Hippolytus: Tell an experience you will never forget. Ohhh there are so many. I think my favourite one is actually one of the smaller ones, but changed my life in the biggest way possible. For reference: I don't drive. I was training the new girl at work (I was 18? I think, she was 17?) and we had gone to school together but ran in different circles (I thought she was a kind of a dick :/) but when she started working with me, I discovered I was wrong. One day (I think) in the summer, it was hot and I lived 45 minutes uphill so I went up to her and asked her if, hypothetically, she would drive me home in exchange for freezies. That night we watched AVPM and planned a trip to Florida together and she's been my best friend ever since 💖

:D As a huge fate fan, i can't recommend the series as a whole to everyone. There is an overwhelming amount of content. That being said Astolfo is great and F/A is a good standalone story. You don't have to understand the universe to get it. Other than that I would highly recommend Extra on psp. Nero is best Saber. Stay Night the VN is okay, but not everyone can devote the time or energy to it.

I think F/A is the most accessible/least dependent part of the series, other than the original VN. I like knowing how it ties in to everything else, but if you don't care about the rest of Fate/whatever you can just treat F/A as its own Holy Grail War without losing anything.

Well, that’s actually great news! I was anticipating confusion, but if it’s alright to go into F/A with no context, then I’m sure I’ll end up having a good time. Thank you both for that info!

My Name is Danny

My name is Danny Fenton. I am was STILL human.

I got an internship for the Guys In White. It was a bad idea, but my parents were proud of me. I couldn't let them down again. It started out small. I held it together for as long as I could, but they trapped me. It was stupid. Ghost nip. It tipped them off that there was something different about me. Usually I can resist the stuff as a human. This must have been stronger.

They thought I was possessed. At first. They told my parents that I was spending the night to be observed after an experiment backfired. I was trapped in a ghost shield and locked into a small room. It reminded me of the interrogation rooms from cop dramas Dad liked to watch sometimes.

It wasn't a normal ghost shield. Not like one of Mom and Dads. It… blocked all ectoplasm from entering and leaving. It disrupted the ambient energy that Amity Park naturally had. It blocked off my source of food.

My name is Danny Phantom. I am half ghost.

And the Guys in White captured me. It wasn't hard for them. They locked me in a room and waited. I was hungry. They put a few blob ghosts in there after a couple weeks days MONTHS. I was hungry. I couldn't resist for long. I needed ectoplasm or my body (bodies) would shut down.

Then came the experiments. I was forced to transform. They wanted to know how I worked. They started looking. They stopped calling me by name.

My name is Ecto Entity 13.

I am the strongest ghost they ever captured. I kept breaking things (I'm sorry. sorry. SORRY) I hurt them.

But they hurt me first.

I needed out. I needed to eat. I needed to protect.

My name is Phantom, King of All Ghosts.

Lord Clockwork found me (too late too late TOOLATE) and brought me to the castle. It felt wrong. It looked wrong.

Why should it look like a town?

It needed to be bigger.

There should be people there.

If there is no one there yet, I shall bring them to me. Whether they want to come or not.

Guilt.

There's something about guilt. Something vague and non-specific that gnaws at your insides. When you know you've done something wrong yet you rebel against the idea that you should feel bad for it.

Because "wrong" is so subjective. When you love someone, for example, but you love them at the wrong time. When you want something you shouldn't, and then you get it. When that thing costs somebody else something, you know you should feel bad.

And if you're like me, you do. You feel bad not just because you're a good person (which I know I am), but also because you understand that loss better than anyone. You understand that heartbreak and that pain.

But where does it end? When should you limit what you'll do to ease that guilt? Where do you draw the line between accommodation and living your life? 

I want to be respectful, here. I want to lay everything on the table and, if I could, I would tell you the story from beginning to end. Whatever it took. Because I am so very sorry.

But not forever.
