‘Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake’ Renewed for Season 2 at Max

Max has renewed “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake” for a second season.

A spinoff of “Adventure Time,” which ran on Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2018, the series follows Fionna (Madeleine Martin) and her sidekick, Cake (Roz Ryan), who find themselves in the crosshairs of a powerful new foe, leaving them with no choice but to seek the help of Simon Petrikov, the former Ice King (Tom Kenny). Other characters from from the original series featured in “Fionna and Cake” include Marshall Lee (Donald Glover), Marceline the Vampire Queen (Olivia Olson), Princess Bubblegum (Hynden Walch) and Finn the Human (Jeremy Shada). The cast also includes Andrew Rannells as Gary Prince, Sean Rohani as Prismo and Kayleigh McKee as the Scarab.

The news comes two months after showrunner Adam Muto told Variety he was unsure whether the show would continue, saying, “It’s in discussion. But the person who greenlit the first season is no longer at Max.”

“My hope is that this series did well enough that they feel like they can invest in future seasons,” he added. “What shape that takes, if that’s a ‘Fionna and Cake’ Season 2 or it’s more of an anthology kind of approach and we focus on another character, is still kind of up in the air … There’s a running list of what we think could work as a series, what we think could work as a miniseries or a special.”

Muto executive produces “Fionna and Cake” with Fred Seibert and Sam Register in partnership with Cartoon Network Studios.

“To know that the show will continue into a second season feels both wonderful and frankly surreal,” Muto said in a statement upon the renewal. “Thanks to ‘Adventure Time’s’ creator Pendleton Ward, the team at Max, the talented cast & crew and the passionate audience who made this possible.”

“As proud stewards of the beloved ‘Adventure Time’ brand, we have been delighted to dig deeper into the world through the ‘Fionna and Cake’ lens,” said Suzanna Makkos, executive vice president of original comedy and adult animation at Max and Adult Swim. “We look forward to following them on the next chapter of their journey!”

We know that most of the wrestlers here will be faces or heels, but I want them as the baddest bosses while the good guys are gonna be portrayed as sixteen newcomers who's shorter.

McEnany: How Is Leaked Trump Audio to CNN Not ‘Violative of the Process?’

  The recording of former President Donald Trump discussing sensitive information that was released is another evidence of the federal government’s lack of credibility, said former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

   During an interview on Fox News, McEnany and host Sean Hannity discussed the recent audio obtained by CNN that involves former President Donald Trump, who can be heard on the tape ruffling papers and discussing a Department of Defense plan concerning Iran.

   “That’s been violated by somebody. I don’t know, why do I assume that a leak to a liberal outlet likely didn’t come from some conservative but maybe somebody close to that special counsel? Just a guess. I don’t know. What do you think, Kayleigh?” Hannity asked.

   “Yeah, you know, Sean, that is a key point. I sit here and I see these things, these details of the case in a court of law by a special counsel come in, and they’re aired on CNN. We get a transcript of the tape. We get an audio recording of the tape. How does that happen? How was that not violative of the process? And at the time when — I saw today an NBC poll, in the 30 percentile is the approval rating of the DoJ and FBI, we need confidence in our government, in our institutions, and this doesn’t instill much when this is getting leaked to the likes of CNN,” McEnany said.

   “I’m sorry, whataboutism is called equal justice and equal application of our laws. And considering they didn’t raid any of the four locations Joe Biden had top-secret classified documents and they certainly let Hillary off the hook and our enemies had access to a lot of that information and she deleted another 33,000 subpoenaed emails and she got away with that, too, and she got away with the dirty dossier that ended up being used for FISA application, none of which were true, I’m standing by my original monologue that said we have a corrupt government and we have a weaponized DoJ and a weaponized FBI and the American people, I think, are seeing it more and more. It’s becoming more transparent every day,” Hannity added.

   The Department of Justice’s indictment of Trump makes mention of the audio tape and alleges that the persons Trump is speaking with do not have the required security clearance for the papers.

   Trump criticized CNN for promoting what he has called the “witch hunt” by the Department of Justice, the FBI, and special counsel Jack Smith after the cable news network aired the recording that had been released.

   Trump handily won the state in 2020, and that could work to his advantage when it comes to his federal trial for allegedly mishandling classified documents.

   As Newsmax reported on Friday, the jury pool will come primarily from counties that Trump easily won in 2016 and 2020, and that could work to his advantage when the case comes to trial.

   In addition, the federal judge hearing the case is Aileen Cannon, whom Trump appointed. And on Friday, she signaled that the trial would take place in Fort Pierce, the federal courthouse where she usually sits, at the northern end of the Southern District of Florida.

   “I’m not convinced this case is going to go in Fort Pierce,” Dave Aronberg, an outgoing Florida state attorney in Palm Beach County, told the Times. He went on to predict that the case could be moved to West Palm Beach, where Trump lives and where the classified documents were found.

   But for now, if the case remains in Fort Pierce, that will bode well for Trump when it comes time to select a jury.

   Newsmax adds:

   Trump won Okeechobee County, a rural county where just more than 16,000 people voted in the 2020 election, with 71.5% of the vote, according to the county’s election tally. He took Highlands County with 66.8% in 2020. That county is a rural area where more than 52,000 people voted.

   In Martin County, where more than 98,000 people voted, Trump won with 61.8%. In Indian River County, where more than 97,000 voted, the then-president won with 60.2% of the vote.

   The swing county of St. Lucie County was one in which Trump won narrowly in both 2016 and 2020. He got 50.4% of the vote in 2020 to defeat President Joe Biden.

   Fort Myers is situated along Florida’s Atlantic coast, about 100 miles north of Miami. Cannon has set the trial date for Aug. 14 “or as soon after that as the case may be called.”

STILL MARILLION – ORN MOR 7 APRIL 2023

Marillion were the first band that genuinely got me excited about music. They were my first music obsession when I was 14 and regardless of the direction my musical taste has gone since, they are always there and always will be. Just to be clear, it is Fish era Marillion we are talking about, the version that ended in 1988, not long after I had turned 15 and yes, I never saw them live.

Jump forward 30ish years and I become aware of a band called StillMarillion who were getting rave reviews as a Fish-era Marillion tribute band. I was very dismissive of tribute bands at first but glad to have found them as they are fantastic.

Tonight’s gig was to celebrate the last album release by Marillion with Fish on lead vocals - ‘Clutching At Straws and StillMarillion’s 15th anniversary. This is a favourite album of mine largely as it was the only one of their 4 studio albums that was released when I was a fan and following their every move in Kerrang magazine. I can still remember cycling to Woolworths in Coatbridge Main Street to buy it on tape the day it came out.

The band are hugely talented, led by the wonderful Martin Jakubski on lead vocals and what a voice. It takes a special person to fill ‘Fish’ sized shoes and Martin does a fantastic job in his tartan trousers. The rest of the band are great musicians and it’s obvious that they love playing these wonderful songs.

As well as playing all of ‘Clutching at Straws’, they also played the hits, including ‘Kayleigh’, ‘Lavender’ and ‘Heart of Lothian’ from ‘Misplaced Childhood’. My favourite song of the night was their version of ‘Incubus’ from second album ‘Fugazi’, it was amazing. Even controversially playing ‘Easter’, a Steve Hogarth era song, didn’t dampen the night, even though it was the only song I didn’t know the words to.

A StillMarillion gig is like the best karaoke night where everyone sings every song and has a wonderful time. The traditional closing duo of ‘Garden Party’ and ‘Market Square Heroes’ brought a superb night to an end and left everyone smiling and looking forward to their next tour.

I’m glad that I got over my initial dislike of tribute bands and StillMarillion will always have a special place in my heart as they keep these fantastic songs alive. Long may they continue to tour and I have no doubt the fans will continue to follow and eventually they will give in and play Grendal.

the best material for Jodie this season was all from Kayleigh. She could potentially submit ep 3 for the martin scenes, espesh the “I don’t like the way I feel”. The scene w her and carolyn in ep 4 “evil from birth” was some pretty vulnerable v content” and maybe possibly when she was hurt/pissed w eve in ep 6. Laura gave her nothing lmao. Potentially laura may have at most given her the stuff in the church in ep 1 after eve rejected her. But yeah, clutching at straws here.

It’s been a week and I’m still trying to get over the ending. But I just don’t understand how it was possible to get it so wrong. It almost feels like they had the script until the hug at the deck and then multiple different options where to go from there. Like whatever the result the lead up to it would have been the same. And then the shittiest option was chosen and LN is trying to explain the reasoning behind it afterwards when actually none of it makes sense. Because how can you say with a straight face that in the end Eve was seeking life and V was seeking destruction and they were not the same at all? When all the season long it was Eve actively seeking destruction saying herself she doesn’t even care if she dies, having the complete freedom to choose every step she took. And V seeking light and goodness, saying she wants a new life, going to therapy, desperately just looking for love and freedom and belonging, just to be pulled back against her will. Like these were things written in the script, it’s not like it is in between the lines somehow. Are we seriously supposed to believe that finally when V felt loved by Eve, what was EVERYTHING she ever dreamt of, she realised that actually nothing makes her more whole than killing a bunch of people? How are E&V “not the same” when it has been the plot from the very beginning? That they can only be whole with the other, even Sandra said that. And how is it possible for Eve to “have an amazing life” now that V is gone? What life? Everything about the ending and the explanations afterwards were so wrong that it almost feels like a joke. Like you can’t actually be serious? Maybe LN realised when watching the episode that nothing that the meant actually showed on the screen. And she was cursing Sandie for delivering the exact opposite and now she’s doing her all to justify the ending. I hope she felt a stab in her heart when she watched the happy Villaneve domesticity for the first time, seeing them all happy and in love. I hope it haunts her in her sleep.

Imma just quote my girl Kayleigh here and say "how does it feel to be so SO wrong". The fact that no one felt the need to listen to the queer woman in the room kind of says it all.

Like you said, literally this entire season was about Villanelle and Eve being on diverging paths. Villanelle was seeking the light and Eve was seeking the darkness. These are words that came directly from Laura Neal's mouth. The problem is that Laura also introduced themes like "a scorpion can't change it's nature" and "reinvention is a form of avoidance", essentially indicating that Villanelle and Eve were hopelessly fighting their destinies and that they were never really these people and simply reverted back to their "true" selves in the end. Which is so fucked because we all know that's not true and also, how do you just invalidate two character's entire story arcs like that. How do you render their 4 season journey completely meaningless?

We heard "we are the same", "in our bones we understand each other", "people like us you mean"...for 4 seasons it has been made very clear that not only are Villaneve the same, but they balance each other out. Eve's brings out the light in Villanelle, while Villanelle gave Eve the courage and freedom to explore the darker parts of herself. Parts that existed BEFORE she ever even knew of Villanelle's existence. So for them to act like V wanted nothing but death and destruction, when she had chosen to walk away from that life, and that Eve wanted nothing but to dance and karaoke, when she had just been telling Martin how meaningless it all was. How tf did we go from "go to the people that love you, that understand you, that know your soul" to "they're not the same. they wanted different things, they were different people. it would've never worked bc Eve just wants a croissant while V wants to kill and destroy". FUCK OFF LAURA NEAL. All she proved is that she didn't understand the first god damn thing about these characters beyond a base level, and honestly not even that. She sat there and acted like she loved this show and these characters so much, but didn't understand the FIRST THING about them. It's as though she had never watched the show in her life!

Eve will never move on from this, and the fact that they imply that she could and that Villanelle "will live on through her" is insulting in every way. She killed Raymond to save V, she almost strangled Helene to death for shooting V, but after watching her be murdered in front of her eyes she'll just go "okay time to karaoke and go get my croissant". Like GTFO with that bullshit, it is ridiculous and shows she didn't understand the first thing about Eve, or Villanelle. What an insult to have someone so fundamentally wrong be in charge of ending their journey. It makes me sick and I hope she never has a good night's sleep again
