For once I’m actually on time with a bujo spread! I spent about half an hour this morning finishing it up. It’s the first time I’ve tried to do a Dutch door and I really love having all of the monthly information where I can see it. Now, to fill it all in! Featuring some fab lo-fi (as usual) and spiced apple cider tea with French vanilla 🤤

Slowly putting my desk back together and feeling very heartbroken for the moment. My best friend and practically sister, who’s been my next door neighbor for many years now, is moving away. I’m so happy and excited for her but already feel in my heart how much I’m going to miss her. 💔

On a happier note, I’m enjoying hunting for missing colors from my triplus and stabilo fineliners! I won’t be happy until I’ve completed my rainbows 🌈

Spent most of yesterday out on a hike to one of our lesser-traveled lakes and decided to make a scramble from the backside of the lake up to some of the last remaining snow! I was so impressed with our little doggo - he was so eager to get everywhere and I think he had a blast. We’re all a bit itchy with mosquito/fly bites, but it was so worth it just to see him get to gallop around. Bonus: No ticks - the heat has finally burnt them off 🎉

Today has very much been a lazy Sunday. Finishing up part 1 of my new bujo’s swatch page - lord knows how many more pages I’ll eventually need just for swatches. All of my washi tape is so old, like, 6+ years old. I think it may be time for some more. Do you have any washi recommendations?

Abernathy has been keeping me company for most of the afternoon and is now absolutely passed out and enjoying the fan.

I’ve been annoyed while making my new bullet journal and finance journal… my measured lines are just… weird? I’ve been passing it off on my generally shaky hands only to discover that the damn thing is BENT af! 😡 On the upside, at least I know that I’m not just randomly terrible with a ruler. 🤦‍♀️

Wow, 256 days since I last posted original content. NaNoWriMo swept me up for November of 2021 and then life got scary in December and remained horrific until June of this year. I’ve been in nothing but survival mode since last December and am only now starting to remember how to breathe, tbh.

Housing is a scary thing… especially when you’re worried about it getting pulled out from under you at no fault of your own. 😪 However, things have settled and our new landlord is, honestly, a fabulous person.

I’m starting to be a person again, myself. Yay!

The back room is being repainted, furniture is being scooted about, and it finally, finally feels like the rug isn’t about to get pulled out from under me!

It’ll be slow going, I think, but I’m excited to start (sporadically) posting again!

I’ve missed you all and hope you’ve been doing well!

September’s been so busy, it’s crazy. L and I spent some time in Seattle and finally got to go to the Japanese Garden and the Seattle Arboretum! It was so fun and so peaceful to stroll through the garden and spend hours just casually cruising through the arboretum and finding all of the fun little side paths.

I also know that September is “spiders, spiders everywhere” month but… omg… so many spiders. L was not prepared.

I always intend to take more pictures when I travel but I get so caught up in the moment that I forget. 🙃🥲

A new bujo and a financial journal are in the works! My old bujo had just about had it and was bursting at the seems so I opted for a larger paperback journal to give me room for actual journaling, as I saw fit, too! The new financial journal is shaping up too! I found that I had to amend my financial trackers so often in my bullet journal that a separate notebook seemed like a better fit for me.

Oh, how I’ve missed my rainbow of pens!

We’re painting the office in sections so I was finally able to move my desk. Now that the walls are nice and shiny with the new paint… I don’t want to put anything back up up on the walls because I’m randomly worried that, like, the paint will just chip off! Is that weird? Tell me I can decorate again lol

I had no idea what I wanted to do for my August bullet journal spread and running out of time was stressing me out. 🥲 After the first of the month, of course, I figured out a simple spread and made some quick monthly stickers since my hands were not at all into writing anything even close to jazzy! It’s been hot and very smoky so I’ve been super shaky… 🤷‍♀️

I was on autopilot with dates and I didn’t even notice that I wrote Sunday on the wrong page at first, oh well!

Still trying to figure out the sweet spot for text outlines on my machine so they’re not too bulky but don’t get overly complex for the cutting process either.

I really disliked this spread at first but it’s growing on me! I’m hoping to get slowly back into the groove of studying now that L is toddling around again and I’m no longer (quite so) paranoid about my own health dive-bombing again. 😬

Spent most of yesterday just enjoying the day and running assorted Christmas errands. Finally got down to business today to get some work done!

I was so excited to finally find some Calpico. I had it, for the first time, probably about 12 or so years ago and I’ve never been able to find it since, so, I treated myself to some for my birthday - yay for online shopping!

I woke up to snow this morning after going on a late night walk with my best friend last night 🥰 Spent most of the morning generally putzing around before working on some more microbiology. Since the last microbiology course I took was almost 10 years ago, it’s nice to get back to the basics.

Also! A SUPREMELY DELICIOUS surprise arrived in the mail. Yume’s Confections plum glass candy, adzuki manju, and baked manju 🤩

On a side note, do you prefer taking notes in a journal/notebook or on loose leaf paper? 🤔 I love notebooks but get frustrated by the bouncing motion of writing near the spines...
