Don't Wait Up - Keanu Reeves x Reader

Summary/AN: This is just a little blurb I thought of last night. I've been very behind on writing recently, so this is better than nothing. Keanu comes home and finds the reader sleeping in the living room. Just a little fluff stuff.

Content Warning: None, really. One sexual innuendo and mention of stress.

You lay slumped in a reclined chair located in your shared apartment. Keanu had made you promise not to wait for him, but you were terrible at keeping promises. Keanu was out at a press event. Relatively minor, not too big; that’s why you didn’t attend. Not to mention your 9-5 was always in the way. Your job wasn't insanely physical, but it was definitely mentally draining. Especially with all the office drama between your co-workers which you try to stay out of but are always roped in somehow

You hear the lock click open. It's muffled in your hazed hearing as you lay on the verge of sleep. Keanu shuffles his way inside, trying to be as silent as possible. He doesnt call out your name because he assumes youre sleeping in bed. He drags himself into the living room to sit down for a moment and kick off his shoes before joining you in the bedroom, but he sees you lying on the recliner.

You hear him hum as a smile rises on his face. He looks at you in awe. You always looked so cute when you slept. “Keany…?” you whisper. He chuckles at the stupid nickname. “Didn’t I tell you not to wait up?” he questions. You struggle to get up from the recliner and are given assistance by Keanu's arms. “I wanted to see you,” you manage to get out. Your mouth was dry and you could barely form a sentence. Work was exhausting lately, and seeing Keanu less and less due to his career was a mitigating factor.

He sighs. “Let's get to bed,” he says, slowly picking you up and placing a kiss on your cheek. “That's it,” he hums as your arms wrap around his neck. “Wanna brush your teeth?” he asks, but he knows youre far too exhausted to do so. You shake your head in response, whining into the crook of his neck. He lets out a soft laugh and continues to the bedroom.

Keanu places you on the bed, undoing your blouse and taking off your pants. “Want one of my shirts?” You always slept in Keanus shirts, especially when he was away for work. They always smelled exactly like him. If you tried hard enough, you could imagine he was right there with you. You answer with a hum, “Mhm.”

He pulls one of his old t-shirts over you and you melt in the comforting scent. He quickly removes his sport jacket, hanging it up before taking off his jeans and plain t-shirt. You couldn't help but admire his body as he strips down to his underwear. He was especially fit recently due to the constant training for his films. He laughs as you stare. “None of that tonight. Come on, lay down,” he instructs you, and you do so. “That’s my good girl,” he grins. He always babied you when you were tired out of your mind.

As he lays down, you feel Keanu’s strong arm wrap around behind you. You latch onto his arm, holding his forearm in yours. It felt like ages since you'd been in his embrace.

“How was your… event?” you ask in a whisper. Keanu presses a kiss against your neck, then your cheek. “I can tell you in the morning. For now, I want you to sleep,” he says firmly, but you know all he means is well intended. You nod. “Okay,” you say. “I love you, Keany.” He laughs. “I love you, too, goodnight,” he hums, and with that youre finally able to sleep soundly knowing that your boyfriend is there with you and always will be.
