In the last four days I’ve watched season 28 and season 1 of Survivor. It’s so funny how the jury in season 1 thought Rich and Kelly were backstabbing and manipulative snakes and rats. They were horrified about the idea of alliances, sweet summer children. Season 1 aired in 2000, so the technological and cultural differences between that season and today are interesting, too. The outright homophobia was shocking to me, but a good reminder of how the world has changed in 20 years.

I don’t know which season to watch next. Season 2? I kinda want to watch Jonny Fairplay’s first season. Just skip around to all the seasons I’ve already seen?

All went to the old church - Mr James Knight did all the duty and preached 34 minutes from Saint Mark last verse of the last chapter looked for Mrs Kelly but cannot make out whether she is come or not - Last night during supposing skimmed over several pages of Parkes’s Chemical Catechism and today just after returning from church (till 2 o’clock) read the notes from page 228 to 268. Went into the stable for near 1/2 hour to look at the colt, Hotspur - He got out of the Hall-Croft while we were at church, and George brought him home from near the top of Barrowdough lane -

At 2 55/60 (our clock 1/4 hour too soon) down the old bank thro’ the old church yard direct to the new church - rang at the Saltmarshes’ door - no one answered all gone to church - Mrs Rawson (Mrs Christopher) drove up in her carriage - offered to set me down at the new church - of course I refused tho’ as civilly as I could - strange that she should not know better than to ask me - Sat in Mrs Dyson’s seat as usual - Spoke to the Stansfield Rawsons just before coming out - went up to them before they left their pew - saw Mr Rawson (Christopher) he was at Market Weighton, and sat with my father and Marian in their pew - they were quite well - Told him I meant to introduce them to Paris, and then leave them there - Returned along Horton Street up the old bank and got home at 5 1/4 - Mr Wiglesworth came to tea at 5 3/4 and staid till near 9 - my uncle shewed him his will and gave it him to write out properly that about allowing my father and aunt to receive the rents etc is to be altered, they are to have for life what is left them because I can still make such disposition by will as I like - went to the new church to see if Mrs Kelly was there, she was not - Fine day - Barometer 1 3/4 degrees above changeable Farenheit 60 1/2* at 9 p.m. [regarding her venereal disease: 3 treatments and no discharge] - Mr Silmoth preached at the new church this afternoon 32 minutes from 1 Epistles Saint Peter verse 10. Mr Edward Shaw read the prayers - In passing Mrs Ralph’s gate in returning this afternoon saw Mrs James Stansfield there who held out her hand very cordially and the Misses Sarah and Emma [Maria] Ralph to whom I spoke en passant - shook hands with the former of course twas her doing but not with the others - Came upstairs at 11 10/60 -

So, apparently the new thing that I can’t stop thinking about and watching and so on is freaking Survivor of all things. The show I was only continuing watching because it was a family tradition and a way for my mom and I to connect is now like a, “LEARN EVERYTHING ABOUT AND WATCH EVERY EPISODE OF EVERY SEASON NOW!!!” type show for me.

Anyway, why did no one tell me that the first winner of Survivor was a gay man? Like. I knew the dude’s name. I knew he was the orchestrator of the first alliance ever seen in the game. No idea he was gay until I watched it myself. (Also, my god, the like. One old guy, Rudy, who I think unfortunately comes back in a later season? One that was still before I started watching, the first I’d watched was Palau. But anyway. Paaainful. I laughed through it because you kinda have nothing else you can do nearly twenty years after it aired. But god. Like. About Richard: “For a homosexual, he’s the nicest man I’ve ever met.” I just. I have to laugh because just. Wow.)

It’s also cool how many people I’m recognizing even though I never saw their original season. So like. Gervase, Kelly Wiglesworth, and now starting season 2 I recognize Tina (a bit, wow is she so much younger!), Jerri, Colby, and Kimmi.

It’s also not so cool that I recognize some people. Because like. Jeff Varner? The guy who outed a trans man against his wishes? Yeah, fuck him. I don’t want to see his (actually, very unrecognizable, because of him being so young) face at all. Get him out of here.

There’s also comments like, on the reunion episode of the first season, “RIP [person].” Which is kinda sad. Inevitable, but sad.

And then, there are the other YouTube comments that alert me to the fact that a familiar face actually is someone I should absolutely despise because of what he’s gone on to do later in life. Michael fucking Skupin. First arrested for... fraud or something? I think I remember reading something about a pyramid scheme. But that was completely overshadowed by the fact that he was in possession of child pornography and was charged and jailed on four of the six counts he was tried for with regards to... that.

It’s like. I kiiiinda wish I’d managed to go on in life never managing to find that out. Because like. Even though I didn’t ever really like the guy before, it’s like. He was familiar, so my gut instinct is to root for him. And then I find that out. Not fun.

I wonder what else I’m going to find as I continue down this rabbit hole.

ya they are! colin and christie and they are honestly rtv ICONS. i honestly havent watched amazing race in years either but im still shocked and excited that they're back. to describe them - he legit has no chill and she did nothing but snap at him constantly fksjdkskd theres this one episode where they're legit 12 hours ahead of everyone else and they STILL got in an argument. almost everyone in the 5 cast is amazing though, its my favorite season! legit only one team sucks!

Wow they sound iconic! Can’t wait to watch their season!

Chrissy is an inspiration to strong women everywhere. I love her so much that was HER TITLE GODDAMNIT and yes before you lot start I know and agree that Ben played a good game but CHRISSY IS THE ONLY WOMAN APART FROM KELLY WIGLESWORTH IN SEASON ONE OUT OF THE FOUR WOMEN TO WIN FOUR IMMUNITIES IN ONE SEASON TO NOT WIN THE GAME. This is probably going to be controversial but just because somebody may have suffered more in life (ie Ben with his PTSD) it doesn’t mean they automatically deserve the money at the end. Chrissy has kids and a family too. Chrissy has had challenges in her life too. And yes, they may not be comparable with PTSD but her gamplay kicked ass, as she put so eloquently at final tribal. Ben had his back against the wall for the majority of the game but Chrissy WON her way to the end, made social connections, she truly was the only one out of the three to represent all of the original tribe titles - hero, healer, hustler. Since when did idol finds become more impressive than immunity wins? This show has changed so much since I first watched. I’m so disappointed for Chrissy and hope they bring her back. I’ll always remember season 35 as hers.

Before breakfast wrote (2 1/3 pages) to my father (Skelfler Market Weighton) giving him a copy of the few lines I had yesterday from Mr Eadon (Written for Mr Eadon, by Mr William Mitron) saying we had heard no tidings of the hamper of dinner-china, etc etc - Had done my letter at 9 - Letter from Isabella Dalton (Croft Rectory Darlington) - her father says no introduction will be necessary - ‘any literary person especially calling on them would be taken as a compliment - Mr Bankes took this liberty when he was in their neighbourhood, and no offence was taken or dreampt of - so go and prosper...’ - a few lines on the ends of the paper from Isabella Norcliffe she says nothing of leaving Croft - wishes me my health etc abroad and will write soon - sent off my letter to my father a little before 11 - Came upstairs at 11 5/60 -

Dawdled away all the morning till 1 1/4 - once or twice downstairs to speak to my aunt - looking over the copy of my letter to Mr D- respecting Paris - considering where I should take the book to fill up the blank remainder with an account of our Welsh tour - scratching my head etc etc and arrant dawdling - From 1 1/4 to 2 1/4 looking over my accounts and calculating our probable travelling expenses per day, for my aunt and myself, a man servant and 2 horses: - for George and the horses I allow 15/. a day; and for ourselves (including a pint of wine a day) I allow 20/. - and the turnpikes I average at a penny a mile -

In the afternoon at 3 1/4 set off in the gig and drove my uncle to the meeting of the trustees of Booth-Town Charity at Booth Town, in 25 minutes - went a very little further up the hill, and then turned, drove to Mr Wiglesworth’s with the intention of driving him to Booth Town if he chose, but, not finding him at home, drove up to Horton Street by Ward’s end and Blackwall to King Cross - then turned back and sent George to inquire at Westfield if Mrs Kelly was come or expected - She had been come a fortnight drove up to the door for a minute or 2, and told her I could not possibly get out then but would call some other time - She was looking very well, improved in looks - but her black gown too much trimmed and her hands and nails not clean. I had my old pelisse on and was in fact too great a figure to get out - I am glad I called. If I had taken no notice of her she might have felt it and it might have been a towns talk. The sight of her looking so well made me feel that sort of interest I always do for women I at all admire. She seemed not grown more ladylike but I shall call soon. My admiration of her is a sort of toy. I felt towards her as if I felt she had been an old flirt of mine and shall be glad enough to talk to her a little, tho’ I shall of course notice her in future as may chance to suit my inclination and circumstances -

Got back in 1 25/60 hour at 4 50/60 - sauntered with my aunt along the new road to Pump - In the evening walked with my aunt to the Cunnery to speak to Matty Pollard - her husband - very ill, but seems recovering - then looking at the harness, etc to see what will want doing for our journey - looking too after the horses - the corn they have had etc - Percy and Vienne have had 7 bushels in just month tomorrow - I had ordered them to have 1 1/4 bushels each till we go - From 8 1/2 to 9 35/60 walked down the fields to Lidget - returned by the road - Fine day - tho’ perpetually looking dark and threatening rain - a few drops just after my uncle and I set off - Strong wind as we went which has subsided towards night - Barometer 1 1/4 degrees above changeable Fahrenheit 68* at 9 3/4 -

Stopt at Whitley’s as I returned - my aunt told me this evening my uncle meant to allow me fifty pounds a year and she was to make out the rest. He will give me twenty five at midsummer. He means it to be an agreeable surprise to me - Came upstairs at 10 50/60 - looking at my accounts to see what I spent last year and how I shall be likely to get on with a regular allowance - [regarding her venereal disease: 3 treatments and no discharge] -

austin: austin: Okay austin here’s the TEA! Your vote out wasn’t random, it definitely wasn’t because you’re new, and there was a lot of thought and logic and reasoning put into it….. At the one premerge tribal we went to me you ashton lily formed a group and we were trying to decide who to vote out and you expressed disinterest in voting out dana which is cool you said you liked her and that was it because willa got evaced

At the merge boot it looked like it was going to be a 5-5 vote with nicholas/zak/willow/dana/josh voting out ashton and then me/you/chips/lily/ashton voting out josh +kai doing whatever kai was going to do lmao

So based on my perception and the information i had been collecting it seemed like you had a relationship with dana and your loyalty to me and “our side” was in question and if 20 minutes before the vote i’m told that youre going to people we weren’t working with and telling them our plan then it would make sense that youre not with us and youre not going to vote with us so a 6-4 vote with me being in the minority was possible and looking more and more realistic.. At that point i knew that i needed to play the idol to save ashton and my reasoning behind voting you out was because all signs were pointing to you were not with me so if you stayed in the game you would not only be a number for the other side but you would be someone who had previously been working with us and had receipts and information that could be used against me so taking you out right then would be smarter so at the last minute i chose what i thought was the most logical game move………….. When the votes were read i saw that you did in fact vote josh out and i had a mini panic attack lmao but yeah there was definitely reasoning behind it i thought you were playing both sides and your actions were making me perceive that you werent committed to working with us so thats why you left… i’m not saying this with any tone btw im not bragging about this being a good move or anything i’m just answering the “why” so that you have the closure and understanding on what was going on in my mind and what went down that lead to you getting voted out

Okay so I know that this was your first tumblr survivor game and im sorry that it ended so abruptly and came so out of nowhere you did deserve better i hope that this experience doesnt spoil your view on tumblr survivor orgs and i know that you need to keep up with wearing your retainers because its important to keep your teeth in tact so that all the money you spent on braces doesnt go to waste learn from my mistakes!!!!!

Willow: Hey, Willow! Whatsup? I loved you in one world, but when we got to merge we ended up on opposite sides and during the early stages of merge i tried to keep my distance so that i would avoid being overly deceitful which would likely lead to more bitter feelings of personal betrayal should i make it to the finals. Everything I did in this game was calculated and fueled by logic and reasoning based on my perception, but that doesn’t mean that I played a flaw free perfect game, I’m definitely a self aware bitch and I know that I can be a little cracked’t. Obviously everything worked out to the point where I got to the final 3 so I can’t say that I would do anything differently, however to answer your question, I would say that my biggest mistake would have to be the timing of voting out Austin. There were many things that lead me to making the decision to take him out at that moment in the game, but when the votes were read and I saw that despite all the red flags, he had voted the way he told us he was going to. Okay, now to answer your general questions! This isn’t a good jury favor pageant answer but tbh my favorite part of this game was making the movie poster, I love being creative and storytelling so I just had such a fun time making that. If I were in the jury, so that would make this a final 2 of Chips and Ashton? Right? Is that what you meant? You can’t answer me right now this is a one way conversation I’m having with myself…. But in a f2 of Chips and Ashton, I would vote for Chips. If I weren’t here and I had to pick only one person to be in the finals, I would choose Dana because I think she played one hell of a game. A minor move of mine was during the premerge one world stage. I made sure to try to make somewhat of an impression of people not on my tribe, like Zak Willow Nicholas and Josh, by having at least one brief conversation that coming at merge we wouldn’t be complete strangers, but not too much that I came off as a strong social threat. Okay, I think that I answered all your questions, I hope I did and I hope that my punctuation usage made this easier for you to read because I’ve gotten so many complaints about this before, I type like I think and speak which is just one nonstop cracked rambling with absolutely no structure asdfdsfhjasdfj i tried really hard for you lmao

Okay 3 genuine compliments about you 1) i’m a self centered narcissistic bitch and i think i’m hilarious BUT when we shared the title for best sense of humor in touchy subjects i was like okay true he’s worthy i’m not mad about that 2) this is like our 5th game together but realistically our second game where we’ve interacted and it’s easy to see that youre a well rounded player who knows how to integrate yourself with people you display game sense and ability without coming off as a big threat that needs to be targeted 3) i literally can never tell if you actually hate me or if we’re friends or enemies or frenemies but despite that i still really like you and want to be your friend even if you hate me and idk why so good job on misting me i guess????

dana: Dana queen legendary icon the night you left i knew you were leaving (despite the valiant effort you put into trying to get me and ashton to vote with you and you almost had ashton so thanks for making me put in just that much more work to talk him down from it) but at that point out of respect for you and your game i just was like straight up ill be real with you because you deserve it… and because i knew you were leaving so building you up a little before you go to jury couldnt have hurt ;) BUT FOR REAL the things you did in this game left me shook over and over and over the way you speak and your ability to lay out valid strategic arguments that make it seem like they dont even benefit you its just all about the person youre talking to’s best interest…. People who talked in the first seven minutes. From an editing standpoint, this can often give a boost in terms of screen-time potential and point out important characters for the season. It doesn’t mean these people won’t be early boots:

Tony, Malcolm, Sandra, Cirie, Debbie, Brad, JT, Ozzy, Zeke,

-All three winners said something. This is obviously in part because of their popularity and the season theme, but might point to “being a winner” as an important identity

-Both Sandra and Cirie had quotes about making it to the end before

-Debbie and Brad were interesting people to choose to have quotes right away, as they aren’t the standout big names. This points to some degree of longetivity, or that they’ll at least be central to some pivotal vote that determines the direction of the game

-Zeke is there for the new people who watched millennials vs. gen x--gotta talk to the most recent people. But why Zeke and not Michaela? Zeke IS just a really good narrator, so I’m not going to dig too far into this point.

-I think Malcolm is a lot of people’s pics to win, and it does look like he’s going to be important. But I also think pre-game stuff has been editing Malcolm to be cocky? That could be a problem

-Ozzy’s answer to Jeff was similar to Kelly Wiglesworths in Cambodia. He might be a narrator or end up falling into the background

-Michaela, Sierra, Tai got a lot of shots of their faces in the intro. Could be nothing, but I expect them to have some confessionals soon into the episode.
