Kendo Nagasaki - Hurt, Decide, Conspire - out today, debut album from “drums/trombone/drums” noise trio. Say no more!
For their debut album, drums/trombone/drums noise trio KENDO NAGASAKI bring us 11 tracks of improvised industrial noise, scattered drums & distortion drenched trombone riffs - all recorded live. Kendo Nagasaki only ever record live. No overdubs. No pissing about. Just live, in the moment slabs of Class-A skronk. Kendo Nagasaki are two drummers and a deranged trombonist with a pedal board the size of a small provincial town - creating blistering and bedazzling motorik soundscapes and improvisations that spring to mind the sounds of Soft Machine, Lightning Bolt, Boredoms, Parts & Labor, Sonic Youth, Benefits and The Comet Is Coming via a Marshall stack turned up to 11. Previous releases have been with the Polytechnic Youth and Die Das Der labels, and they have been championed by Messrs Coe, Ravenscroft and Maconie. It's crazy, it's captivating and it's brilliant.

Hello! Do you guys have any fic recs where they are high school / college teachers/profs? I didn't find anything on your tumblr and haven't found much on ao3 but maybe I just suck at tags
have a great day
Hello Nonnie!
We definitely felt your pain in the AO3 tags with this one. While “Alternate Universe - High School” and “Alternate Universe - College/University” are very popular tags, it doesn’t say if they are teachers or students– and the latter is by far more popular. However, we were able to find a sizable selection in AO3 and FFN so hopefully there’s enough below to keep your TBR list full for a while!
A Note From the Fic Finders: If you need more stories with a teaching angle, it’s more common for Kagome to work in an elementary school than a HS/College setting so adjusting your search terms to include that will give you significantly more results.

Hot for Teacher by@keizfanfiction  (M)
Kagome surprises the Weapon's Tech professor with a late night visit after classes are over and after a particularly intriguing discussion of sorts involving the malleability of swords, Inuyasha demonstrates that hard wood can be far greater than any steel or metal.
Loverboy by TheMondyChild (E)
A recent arrival to the city, Kagome finds work teaching at a prestigious high school for only the most elite brats of society. She expected some trouble, but she certainly didn’t expect the kind of darkness that rules the school. Caught in a battle of wills with a psychopathic student intent on overpowering her, how long will she survive—and keep her marriage vows?
A Thousand Golden Suns Ago by @inussunflower (T)
Long ago, Inuyasha—then known as Albinus—made a deal with Pluto, the Roman God of the Underworld in which he exchanged his soul for the return of his wife, Augusta. Thousands of years passed, and tens of women had come close but none were her. Until one day, while taking a shortcut to work...he met her. He met Kagome. And that, regrettably, was the beginning of the end for him.
In which Inuyasha gives up his mortality to see his wife one last time.
Prurience by TheMondayChild (E)
Hot for teacher.
Misconceptions by pyrrhical (anoyo) (G)
This was it. Her first year as a teacher. A college professor, really, but a teacher nonetheless.

Coffee Break by @alannada (T)

Inspired by Clueless.

When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside… why not sit back and enjoy another episode of 1UP Pod’s GamesMaster Revisited. This week’s episode takes a look at GamesMaster S1E7, where Andy & Chip let their inner wrestling nerd out.
The episode begins with a discussion about Dominik Diamond’s faith and how it relates to him making lots of cock jokes in a church, they veer off into a discussion about crucifixions and hot ribena, including Andy’s memories of a horrible school trip in the Lake District. This episode goes all over the map, honestly.
The first challenge is James Pond II: RoboCod, which Chip barely believes is a real thing. The guys discuss the punishing difficulty of the challenge and McVitie’s biscuits.
The reviews focus on adventure games with reviews of The Immortal (NES), Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge (Home Computer), and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of the Lance (Master System).
The preview section focuses on Alien 3 on the Mega Drive, something Andy is sick of talking about after covering the game in not one, not two, but three lists for the website. And we get what may be the first-ever video list for video games as Dominik counts down the five best video game soundtracks.
The celebrity challenge is one Andy & Chip have been anticipating for weeks now – WWF WrestleMania Challenge on the NES, featuring Kendo Nagasaki. The lads talk about a not-so-proud/pretty racist wrestling tradition, their thoughts on the British wrestling scene of the ’80s and ’90s, Hulk Hogan, and Chip’s terrible time at Butlins. The challenge itself is a mess, but the discussion is fun. Andy busts out some GamesMaster knowledge and shares Dominik Diamond’s personal love of this segment with some info gleaned from the Oral History he got last Christmas.
The Consoletation Room features The Legend of Zelda, Stryder, and Mega Man – and the final challenge is a ruthless one.

Kendo Nagasaki (Peter Thornley).
fyi:  Kendo Nagasaki is a Professional wrestler that debuted in the 1960s,  and was originally portrayed by the Brit, Peter Thornley.
He was later portrayed by  the Japanese Professional wrestler, Kazuo Sakurada - who wore face paint, as opposed to Thornley (who wore a mask).
The success of both Thornley and Sakurada has spawned an assortment of other wrestlers with characters inspired by – or simply impersonating the Kendo Nagasaki gimmick.

On the heels of the death of La Parka yesterday (the second one in AAA, not the one from WCW, who’s now LA Park), it’s been reported that Kazuo Sakurada has passed away at age 71, following complications from a pacemaker malfunction.
Beginning his career as a middling sumo wrestler (where he met Genichiro Tenryu), Sakurada began his pro wrestling career in 1971, in the dying days of the Japan Pro Wrestling Alliance. There, he infamously would shoot on rookie Tsutomo Oshio on 3/8/1973, as Oshio was rumored to be joining New Japan along with Seiji Sakaguchi & Kengo Kimura. Once the JWA finally died, he joined All Japan Pro Wrestling, and from there would go on to make tours in North America, particularly in Continental, and Stampede, where he was cited as one of Bret Hart’s most significant trainers.
It was during his time at Continental that he would adopt the Kendo Nagasaki persona, but taking a different tack than Peter Thornley, the British wrestler who first had this gimmick. Here, he would often be teamed with Black Ninja, who was of course Keiji Muto prior to becoming The Great Muta. During his time in Continental, he even once beat Jerry Lawler for a title.
Despite shooting on a poor rookie for going to NJPW, he himself would end up in NJPW off and on between 1985-1989, but never really doing anything of note. His final NJPW match was a victory at Wrestling World in Tokyo Dome 1997, the 1/4/1997 Tokyo Dome show, beating Tatsutoshi Goto.
In addition to working in WAR, FMW, IWA Japan and WING in the early 1990s, Sakurada would also be a co-founder, along with Great Kojika, of Big Japan Pro Wrestling, working there between 1995-1999. However, he was near the end by then, and his final match would be on 7/20/2000, on the losing end of an 8-man No Rope Barbed Wire Street Fight Deathmatch in Onita Pro. His formal retirement came in 2001.
Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
The tour continues tomorrow.

JJ Dillon and Kendo Nagasaki [1982]
Wrestling fans worldwide recall JJ Dillon as the manager of The Four Horsemen, but he was known to have managed several wrestlers. Among them, in the early 1980s, was Kendo Nagasaki. One of eight men to portray the gimmick, Kazuo Sakurada was the man under the mask and facepaint, and wrestled against the likes of Chavo Guerrero, Barry Windham, Brian Blair, Butch Reed, and Dusty Rhodes in a Texas Death Match. This version of Kendo Nagasaki wrestled in CWF, the AWA, WWC in Puero Rico, and CWF before wrestling in WCW where he was known as The Dragonmaster.
Another popular version of Kendo Nagasaki was portrayed by Peter Thornley in England's World Of Sport, which lasted from 1971 until 1977 (pictured below).
