So my homebrew career started with this subclass. I made it while playing my first character, a lizardfolk druid name Kevin Goodberry. He was an eccentric follower of the Great Goodberry, and carried a sapling of it in a backpack full of dirt. So here’s the most recently revised version of such an esteemed piece of history. Hope you enjoy!

Here is the Praise be the Goodberry! Compendium! It contains the Druidic Circle of the Goodberry which was the very first homebrew I ever made! This feature the anniversary edition of that subclass alongside the Goodberry Domain for cleric and the Great Goodberry patron for Warlock! I even statted up my lizardfolk druid Kevin for use by all!

First ever homebrew I ever made! Went back and looked through it. Made a couple minor changes.
I made this for my first ever character, the druid Kevin Goodberry. Had a lot of good adventures with Kevin.

I'm real excited cause I'm gonna get to play my first character Kevin Goodberry again in a month or so. One of my fellow players really likes the stories of Kevin he's heard and wants to play a cleric that has taken The Great Goodberry as their patron god and is under Kevins tutelage. So I said I'd dust off Kevin's character sheet. I love the idea here, and have ideas for what Kevin has been up to since I last played him. I look forward to playing Kevin again.

a gang of desert ruffians!! they have makeshift weapons out of scraps. they’re pretty well-hardened from living in the desert - now take them out!
Kevin was ya know wandering through the desert when all of a sudden he was surrounded on all sides by a band of thieves set on taking his valuables from him.
The ruffians got in a formation that mixed some of them being ranged and the others being in melee range. I summoned a gargoyle to take care of the ranged ones got a Nat 1 on his initiative roll. I am naming this gargoyle Clay, cause he seems to be a recurring character. I hit myself a couple times with my area of effect spells but managed to take out the ones in melee range. The ones who were ranged were more elusive but I managed to kill them all.

because I love worldbuilding and it's a ton of fun seeing your answers, here's my weird niche worldbuilding question for Kovaud- what's some of the common foodstuffs in any given area you'd like to describe? Like farmed grains and veggies and fruits or livestock, or are there any unique foodstuffs found on Kovaud that don't exist here on Earth that you've thought about?
So a big one is that goodberries are naturally occurring, the only thing the spell does is imbue them with the magic to sustain a creature for as long as they do and restore a hit point. Goodberries resemble a mix between cranberries and blueberries in shape and color. They are often used in wines, jams, ales, and other similar foodstuff. Another fun fact is they are in fact not even technically native to Kovaud, they were brought over from the previous world in the cycle by Kevin Goodberry an inhabitant of that world that managed to survive its destruction.
Most of the farming and agriculture in the nation of Emeras is done around the Thundering Plateau as it is experiences a fair amount of rain throughout the year. The Ruby Marshes are another place where agriculture is common in Emeras. They're druidic magic allows them to farm a variety of crops from just about anywhere on Kovaud.
A lot of recipes make use of meat and other parts from the various fantastical monsters and creatures that exist. In Hjellvast the body of a single dread wyvern can be a boon to the food stock of a village. Making use of the abundance of meat they provide and even incorporating its venom which has a sour-sweet taste into recipes.
The inhabitants of the Ghost Archipelago shun the consumption of fish due to the curse laid upon the Mournful Sea. The curse that makes sealife that have died within the past 24 hours rise from death to terrorize the sea. As you would imagine improper consumption of fish can be fatal. They do a lot of trade with Hjellvast and Spyros for food. The ghost elves and soberek do maintain their own ancient agricultural practices on the islands.
Spyros is a vast desert and sees a variety of hardy and hydrating plant life. The diet of an average citizen of Spyros is heavily plant based. The most common crop is gritroot, a vegetable that grows entirely under the sand in large masses. It has high water retention which it leeches from further underground.
Kovaud is also home to livestock equivalent to what's standard on Earth. There are some exceptions however. In Emeras, Hjellvast, and Xyrno there are the Kravwen, a large four-legged bovine creature that can get anywhere between 5-18 feet tall. They are excellent producers of milk that lends itself well to the production of butter and cheese. Ouroboros has the serpentine behir which they farm for meat. The nation of Saurdane is host to a variety of traveling herds of livestock which are shepherded by the traveling clans of giantkind (orcs, goliaths, and firbolg are included as members of giantkind).
And that's where I'll end this post as it's starting to get a little long! Thank you very much for the ask! Gave my brain good exercise!

My character Kevin Goodberry wanted to make a tractor. He was all about farming and agriculture. I also wanted to see how a tractor would fare in mounted combat.

There is a clearing that Kevin walks into, there is no one around and yet he hears “I see you”. Turns out there’s a level 10 Dwarf Divination wizard who buried himself before you arrived. He’s viewing you through an arcane eye. He casts Magic Missiles out of it as a warning sign.
Alright so the Dwarf leads with Magic Missile granting him a surprise round against Kevin. Each of the three darts of force strikes Kevin dealing 11 force damage. Kevin is at 59 hit points now.
Now for initiative to be rolled. The dwarf rolled a 7+3=10 and Kevin rolled a 4+4=8. The dwarf goes again and casts Ice Storm centered on Kevin. Kevin must make a DC 16 Dex save. Kevin rolls a…12+4=16 passing the save. Kevin takes 11 damage and is now at 48 hit points. Kevin now goes and pulls out a scroll given to him by one of his old adventuring friends Hirion the high elf wizard. The scroll contains the spell Earthquake. Kevin hold the scroll aloft and recites the incantations it contains and Earthquake. Right in the middle of the clearing a single fissure opens up that is 40 feet deep and 10 feet wide revealing the dwarf wizard as he falls down into it taking 4d6=11 bludgeoning damage. The dwarf on his turn stands up and looks towards Kevin who is standing on the edge of the fissure looking down on him and cast Fireball aiming just below where Kevin is standing. Kevin rolls a…12+4=16 on the Dex save against Fireball and takes 10 fire damage and as the ledge breaks apart it drops Kevin down into the fissure. Kevin takes 4d6=15 bludgeoning damage. It is Kevins turn now and he in turn casts Goodberry Fireball and launches a ball of solar energy at the dwarf. The dwarf rolls a…9+3=12 and fails the save. He takes 21 radiant damage. The dwarf after bracing against the blast returns fire and casts Blight. Kevin must make a Con save, he rolls a…18+4=22 and succeeds and now takes 13 necrotic damage and now sits at 10 hit points. Kevin grins and cast Blight as well. The dwarf must now make Con save, he rolls a…9+4=13 and fails his save. The dwarf takes 8d8=45 necrotic damage and is reduced to -17 hit points. The dwarf shrivels up and turns to dust as the life is drained from him.
Kevin weakened slumps down against a wall of the fissure and shuts his eyes and rests for the trials ahead. As Kevin rests the goodberry bush he carries upon his back seeps its roots into the soil of the fissure wall and draws nutrients from it in order to replenish Kevin.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm looking for a bit of advice. My GM has decided that he likes my character's backstory so much that he's basing his campaign around it. It's really cool and exciting! But at this point, he's changed SO MUCH of my character's backstory that it feels like I have a different character. He decides things, and tells me later on as an after thought. I know he's excited and means well and just wants to make a good story, but it's starting to sting. What do I do??
Okay so I’ve had a similar thing happen to me. The way me and my D&D groups play D&D is very light on rules and more collaborative, so when I was playing my first character Kevin Goodberry I suggested that since we were heading down a road in the countryside that we stop at my dads farm. One of my fellow players took up the role of Kevin’s dad and proceeded to mess with how I had written him to be. That player did apologize to me later after I talked to him about and we worked out a retcon for it.
So what I’m saying is that you should talk to your DM about how its bothering you and how they’re taking your agency as a player away. If they’re a cool and good person they’ll quit and work with you instead of without you. If they’re not then they’re not a good DM. Being a DM is always about working with your players on everything. Their characters, their place in the world. I specify work with and not taking over as they are very different things. Just talk things out and ask them to let you know of any things that they’d like to do and to get your approval first. If they pull the “Oh I’m the DM I can’t let you know things”, just remind them that its your character and its the backstory you wrote that the campaign works around.
Hope it works out and you get to enjoy playing your character in the future!
P.S. I’m very intrigued as to what the backstory is! I’d like to check it out if that’s alright! If not that is also fine!

1. What influenced or inspired the creation of this character?
A half hour before my first session of D&D the DM was working with me on my character and mentioned the spell Goodberry. From there I decided to make that Kevin’s shtick and thus Kevin Goodberry, first disciple of the Great Goodberry was born!

13. Does your character consider themselves lucky?
Kevin considers himself lucky to have had the life he has had. To adventure with those he has, to have had his son, and to have served the Great Goodberry. Luck at chance? Heck no! Kevin used to play bone dice with one of his party member and nearly went into debt. So gods no.
Thanks for the ask!

6, 7, and 17 for the dnd character ask thingy!!!
6. Do they have any bad habits? My lizardfolk druid Kevin Goodberry has the bad habit of not taking things seriously. This is mainly because he has trouble reading the room and tends to make jokes at bad times.
7. Is there anyone they’d die for? Kill for?Kevin would probably die and kill for his son Alexander. He tries to take good care of his son and teach him all the things he wished he knew at his age.
17. If they were in possession of a trio of wishes, what would their three wishes be?Kevin would wish for three things. He would wish for the parts needed to finish his tractor he’s been working on for 3 years. That all would know of the glory of the Great Goodberry. And that’s about it. He’d probably just hold onto that last wish for an emergency.
Thanks for the ask!

d&d asks? fibonacci sequence
Okay so if I’m reading this correctly I answer 1, 2, 3, 8, and 13?
1. I have a whole load of dice.
2. Sometime last year. They were the black and red elven rune set.
3. Last November I think. They were a purple and pink swirled set.
8. I’d like a set of dice with the bisexual colors.
13. Currently play 2 characters. Kevin Goodberry a lizardfolk druid and Ceto Usaloth a sea elf warlock.
