Of Monsters And Men - Chapter 1 - RigorMorton - The Batman (Movie 2022) [Archive of Our Own]

Me and Anny are still at it. Can't get Reeves verse Riddlejokes out of our heads. We just really needed Batman and Gordon finding out about Eddie and Joker, and this is what our overactive imaginations came up with. I wrote for Joker and Anny for Eddie. We took turns writing for the other characters. Enjoy.

Summary: Marv, a guard at Arkham gets drunk at a bar with his buddy and let's it slip that the Riddler and Joker are an item, not realizing the other patrons around them are overhearing all the juicy details.

The story ends up making headlines and when word gets back to Batman, he and Gordon deem their relationship dangerous and head down to Arkham in an attempt to tear the two lovers apart. When their initial attempt fails, they show Eddie Joker's file, revealing exactly why the clown was thrown into Arkham. Eddie doesn't take it well.

This is Hagihara Rina. She is a very timid and shy person.

A small profile:

She is the middle child of three children. Her older sister is called Nao, and her younger brother is called Yasu. Her parents are called Hagihara Toshiro (her dad) and Okabe Kaori (her mom). They have been divorced since Rina was an early teenager. Her father left with Yasu, and Rina and Nao were homeschooled since then.

She loves to nit, sew, and everything like that. Takes care of some specific flowers in the shop (for example: she grows her own daffodils). She has worked at the flower shop since she was a teenager. The owners of the shop are the elderly couple Daichi and Jun Myazaki, and they act as her adoptive grandparents. Her favourite colour is anything between pink and red and her favourite flower is the daffodil.

Uuuuuuh I think that is all I wanna say for now?? Since I actually plan to write a fanfiction for her (not in the scale as Firelight AU is turning out to be). So there is not much backstory I can give here except for the divorce part. Finally, I have a character that doesn't have a green/grey/brown/blue-palette! I am not the biggest fan of pink or red personally, but I wanted to draw a character with pink being their primary colour for sooo looong! And I actually finally have one! WOOOOO!

Also I made up her weight based off of my own height and weight ratio + taking in her current mental state (which is just a shit show) and converted it from cm to pound. I wanted to compare it to Yashikis weigth and hoo boy! His weight doesn't really match his height (he weighs around 137lbs (62 kg)) which is as much as I do in real life! And I am tiny comapred to him! (He is 5'11 (180 cm) while I'm 5'3 (162 cm)) So that took a few years of my life. But that just shows how good his character design is as you can really see his lankiness. (And I'm getting off track, this is about my OC not Yashiki. Move over, old man!)

Hello! Know of any good Keroro Gunso fics? I don’t know much about the show but it looks cute

I myself haven't really looked around too much for fanfiction of KG, (mainly because... a lot of it is poorly formatted and I'm picky about that kinda thing.)

BUT there is one fic I absolutely must recommend and that is "Resonance" by Dani Dandelion on fanfiction.net. Allow me to ramble about it. <3

Basic summary is that the Keroro platoon gets stranded on an uncharted planet during a mission gone wrong. It's very.... survival-y? Suspenseful too, and shows off some character dynamics we don't see too often in the anime. A good choice if you want to see the platoon in serious mode (as opposed to the anime's more lighthearted, slice-of-life format).

It's well written, in character, properly formatted, and about 35k words long. I binge-read the entire thing in a day, if that's any indication on how i feel about it!

I will say that if semi-graphic descriptions of injury, medical stuff, or animal death gross you out, you might not like it very much. The fic is definitely more intense than canon. (Aliens WERE hurt in the making of this fic.)

Something less intense by Dani Dandelion is "Confidant" - a sickfic featuring Kururu and Mutsumi. If you like hurt/comfort and standoffish friendships, this one's a good fic.

And lastly, if you're new to the series, the setting of this fic is... honestly a deep cut... but "Major Defense" by Fortune_Maiden on ao3 is also one I like. It focuses on Garuru - a character you may or may not know? He's been assigned to protect a certain someone from an assassination threat. (It's Kururu. Again.) This fic is based off info from the "Keroro Land" card game and takes place before the events of the main series, back when Kururu was a kid.

Kingdom Gothic, my baby 👻

Doing a little self-celebration: I shared the final chapter of Kingdom Gothic nearly three months ago. 

I have a thing for haunted houses, the precariousness of mysteries, the drama of gothic romance––and I loved imagining much of the Kingdom Hearts cast with British accents, wearing midcentury fashion––so this is what I chose to write.  

It’s the first work I ever posted and the only thing of length that I’ve completed in a life of writing. It’s 188K words and 29 chapters, split narratively in two pieces––consider there to be an intermission between chapters 15 and 16.

I just re-read it myself after some time away, and I saw all the dumb plot threads I couldn’t effectively work out right next to all the lovely elements I’m proud of. What I mean is that re-reading it with distance from the nonstop, intense eight-month period of writing it was both rewarding and eviscerating. 

But it’s kind of like I wrote a whole ass gothic romance & mystery novel––even a flawed one––and that’s pretty cool. So here’s to this big writing accomplishment in my life!
