I made team free will in the Costume Quest style for the @letsdrawcastiel Halloween challenge (will probably unleash another later in the month as well I'm afraid to say, you have been warned)

also apparently it's my tumblr blog's second birthday?? whatever that means

I tried to copy the Costume Quest costume types which make use of cardboard and simple clothes and things you could probably find in like a Goodwill though that mostly just comes out in the abomination that are Cas' cardboard-y net wings and Sam's unabashedly Christmas-y antlers. but yeah Sam's a moose (kind of), Dean's a cowboy ofc, and don't ask Cas what he is he's the weird kid that has ten ideas and combines them and then just stares blankly when the old ladies with the candy bowls try to ask what he's dressed up as. nobody knows

(also yes the background is just a pumpkin face I didn't know what to make it I panicked okay I'm aware it makes it look like Dean has bat wings idk what to do about that djdjjdgh)

last three seasons spn are crazy. its just dean being borderline suicidal while sam tries to fix it by basically dangling his keys at him and going : “dean look! cowboys!” “dean look! strip club!” “dean look! haunted action figure.”

unfortunately did a thing for my latest disaster fic. this one is a 'The Polar Express' au...for some reason. for some equally bizarre reason, I did dark purple lines instead of pure black like I usually do and idk maybe I had a reason for that before but I honestly can't remember. knowing me it probably stemmed from laziness though so maybe I just had the color picked for coloring something and was too lazy to change it

this is probably my least favorite thing that I've drawn in quite a while. I just really don't like drawing characters as like a cast line-up because they never seem to look right and this really does show it. they look so awkward and I hate their poses and ashjdakd. also I went way overboard trying out Flipaclip's new perspective tool (the thing that let me make the date and title so stretched and flat) I think oops

(I do like how Cas came out though to a degree)

I do not know how curtains work. or shading but let's like ignore that please. Dean's clothes are supposed to be cowboy pajamas (with cacti and little horses on them) and something like his dead guy robe from the show. Cas' is just the trench coat lol. I think I seriously messed up the angles for the seats there but idk how there should look so I'm ignoring that ig

I'm seriously so bad at drawing people sitting down it's not even funny. I changed the fic so that Charlie would be in a nightgown specifically because I just cannot draw legs (evident by Dean's amazing pose there). then you get Gabriel and I just really dislike his pose and everything it stands for. the sizing is so off it make my head wanna explode

on a more positive note, I don't hate their poses like outside of the legs. I like how Cas resting on Dean's shoulder came out and Charlie's pose isn't atrocious ig though that hand is kinda funky. this is like my second ever time drawing bare feet so if they look weird, that's why uh. and yeah, the colors of the train are intentionally eye-searing in a horrible mix between the train's colors from the movie and Gabriel's intentions of making kids' eyes bleed

made this for my own fic "Sidetracked" (still hate that name but it's hard to come up with good titles when there are so many train puns to choose from ;/)

Brain: PALEONTOLOGIST!DEAN FINDS AN ANGEL THAT GOT BURIED DURING THE EXTINCTION OF THE DINOSAURS.

Me: *quietly* ...what the fuck

Brain: Dean is working on an excavation in a cave system when he uncovers this. fcking HUMAN BEING WITH *WINGS* AND *TOO MANY EYES*. PRESERVED IN ROCK IN THE SAME STRATA AS THE DINOSAURS. And ofc Dean is really freaked out and scared of this thing, but then he notices that the figure is curled forward over something, and as he looks closer he sees the skeletons of a nest of baby raptors that the "human" figure was holding tight to its chest, like it was trying to shield them from something. And he realizes that this... Thing... died protecting them.

Except the "human" figure isnt a skeleton, its preserved fully in the rock. Or perhaps...

Thinking about Cas roped into a little kids teaparty while they're investigating a case and being firmly told he's a princess and a plastic crown slapped onto his head and Dean checks in on him saying "hey you wanna come to [next investigation scene]?" And all the kids go noooooo bc they love Cas bc he's Weird and very serious and patient with them about their games which is very funny to them and he pays focused attention which almost always makes kids happy.

And Cas, very solemn, goes "I'm a princess now Dean, I need to oversee my kingdom's affairs". And it becomes a comedy C plot of Cas n the kids fantasy game getting really politically detailed and fucked up while the boys do all the investigation work. Maybe there's some cut-betweens of the kids fantasy violence of smashing dolls together and Sam n Dean getting thrown around.

#the joke is how engaged he is in the game not that he's a princess #he's a princess bc he'd make a cute princess is all #i think cas IS good with kids but it's not quite in the way that's depicted in the show when he talks to that one little girl with Hannah #he's good with kids because he gives a lot of attention and would let them do whatever play they needed to and would stop them getting hurt #but would let them try difficult things rather thab do things for them #and he's remarkably patient unless it's with someone he already doesn't like
