Day 6 of being hospitalized. I’ve begun having thoughts like “I wonder what Hilda characters would act like if they had to go through long hospital stays” and “I should write a post on headcanons of Hilda characters as patients”. I am climbing up my walls

I got all three trellises up and I'm having a li'l back spasm in my right lumbar paraspinous muscles, but also I have so many bulbs to plant I think I'll take a shit ton of OTC medication and get back out there. Just... after some snacks.

in other news i was in a&e for 12 hours but that's not even the best bit the best bit is the nhs has been assfucked so hard by rishi sunak that on thursday night 10pm i went in and was there until 4am and all they managed to do was a single test and then told me i needed to wait another 4 hours for results because they were so shortstaffed they literally could not do it any sooner so i went home (i live 5 minutes away from the hospital) when people who had been waiting there for even longer than me started clashing with security over how long they were stuck in the waiting room for and then i went back the next morning friday 10am and at long fucking last had a catheter stuck in my arm at 2:30pm after a blood test to prepare for dialysis then wasn't seen again until two hours with a thick ass tube in my arm just fucking about in the waiting room before they decided i do not in fact require dialysis after all and rather i should be presented with a multicoloured corsage of antibiotics to make sure my girlfailure kidneys behave as kidneys should. england is broken without repair and the gods gave our king cancer after he doubled his wages in media res of the cost of living crisis. thank you thank you thank you @memphisbelle and @legobrickcow for bringing me breakfast and visiting me twice when i was at my grimmest i adore you both

i said this with the original season of B Positive, but i’m incredibly grateful that Fire Country is showing kidney disease and what comes with that, [hopefully] putting eyes on the concept of living donors, on dialysis, on the very real and heartbreaking news of it progressing further and faster than you hoped it would. it’s not perfect, no dramatic fictional portrayal is ever gonna be, but it’s broaching the subject in a way that could educate a lot of people and i think that’s hugely important.

So I just got news about something.
My cat died a few hours ago.
Not Yen or GG or Jake, Litty.
She's older than I am, 17 when she died. She was my favorite part about my younger memories. We had to move when she was already old and it was a move that involved flying for 24 hours, we didn't want to put her through that.
So she stayed behind, and lived with a family friend.
I was hoping to visit her one final time before she died, but I wasn't lucky.
I love you Litty, I love you so damn much, I love you so much it hurts.
The way you cuddled me when I was crying because of my fear of the dark.
When you stayed with me when I thought the walls were melting.
When you'd nip at my fingers when you wanted me to stop petting.
The weird way you drank water.
The times I tried to speak your language. Or convinced you to try to speak one of our very own.
The grief I felt when you went missing for weeks before we had a previous move and couldn't find you in time.
The absolute euphoria of seeing you alive again.
The comfort you gave me.
The understanding we had.
Rest easy, lovely.
Tell your sister I say hi.

ppl are making videos on watertok recently and every time i saw a bunch of people in the comments like "this trend was started by bariatric patients to treat their water nausea" and my immediate thought as a guy whos having surgery in less than a week was "woof thats gotta be rough itd be miserable to have to get a surgery where you need to drink a ton of water but it makes you nauseous enjoy your powders ladies" but i couldn't remember what bariatric surgery was specifically so i looked it up and . yknow im starting to think medical fatphobia might be some kind of issue if ppl are being pressured into having their stomachs partially amputated making them Unable To Drink Water
