it's moments like these that i truly adore this band and believe in its dedication to raising children on wholesome, magical heavy metal. Riffi's literally in the middle of playing and still does his best to interact with the children waving at him and asking for high-fives. HE EVEN MAKES SURE TO GO BACK FOR THE HIGH-FIVE HE MISSED. oh my god it makes me want to cry. i love this band

seriously though my parents were never into kids music, i just listened to what they listened to and it worked out great (especially because i was very good at tuning out or misinterpreting dirty lyrics — i thought “you oughtta know” was about making a scene and ruining each other’s dinner parties). the closest thing i remember having to actual kids’ music was the King’s Singers’ Children’s Album, narrated by Dame Judi Dench, and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, narrated by David Bowie

another reason why i love Hevisaurus is that their live shows are purposefully much quieter than normal. since y'know, they make music targeted mainly towards kids (don't judge me) so ofc they'll wanna make sure it's not too overbearing for them (i think they also hand out ear protection too, anyways, just in case). they also format the seating so the kids can all sit at the front if they'd like, and the parents sit in the back, which i think is just amazing. they really care about giving kids the best experiences they can growing up with heavy metal
