(gaiden spoilers)
sometimes it feels funny that the watase family are somehow the first people to go look for kiryu but the more i think about it the more it makes sense despite the fact that the main people on the hunt are people kiryu's never met?
like, 6's ending and gaiden (ESPECIALLY the ending) make it pretty clear that very few people believe he's really dead. that being said, who has the resources to go look for him? the main roadblocks would be:
-being sure you can deal with whoever will inevitably come for you if you look for him (yakuza are always never far behind wherever he is)
-having the money and manpower to look for him (not only do you have to be able to look all over, but be able to deal with anything, not to mention if you DO find him he'll start mowing all of you down)
and the omi alliance are basically the only people who have what's needed. the tojo are in hiding (incl. majima, saejima and daigo) and even shortly after his death, were hit with the saio triad war and THEN the 3k plan. the morning glory orphanage kids don't have the know-how and would be in too deep if they looked. akiyama can't do it alone. date's sworn to secrecy. the hirose family...actually, what's their deal? did the daidoji approach them about the secret of onomichi? bc surely they'd have to keep those guys quiet too
so of the omi alliance, that naturally falls to either the best of them, or the few that actually know him. the watase family checks both boxes by virtue of watase's meeting him 7 years before! even if watase's gone, he can just go send his guys to look. easy.

kijin au starter. @dcjimadragcn
Tumblr media
❝ who do we have here ~ ? ❞
it had been sometime since he last stepped foot in kamurocho, now mostly residing in osaka, a kijin clan man, majima didn't have much of a reason to ever come to tokyo, but he was in the mood for exploring, & there wasn't anything holding him bound in sotenbori any more.
what a hunk of a man he had found ... he noticed the pin the other wore, he was one of the dojima. wait, he couldn't be ? could he ? majima started to spin his baseball bat around playfully at the thought of it, he was always good at catching dragons.
Tumblr media
❝ ya wouldn't happen to be the fabled dragon o' dojima ? i've heard so much 'bout him, legendary in these parts ... heard he's a right hunk o' a man, ya seem to match that image well. ❞

I forgot when I was researching Ryomen Sukuna during the early years of JJK, he was described as a Kijin, an oni. Kijin's are also called demons.
He's stated to be from a clan of Kijins. It would explain why Sukuna is so big and why Yuji has this strange demonic hands. Those tiger association with Yuji makes sense now...
You know what else they're known for? Cannibalism.
(Also.. I learned that the Kamo clan also has relations to Sukuna. As their ancestor, Susanoo no Mikoto, is also Sukuna's ancestor according to legend.)

Nishitani Everywhere AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nishitani survives being shot, getting hit only twice. Even though he lives, he's out of commission for the rest of Yakuza 0, settling into his throne of the Kijin clan after the whole thing blows over. Majima decides to keep on the same path he walks on in canon despite Nishitani's insistence he become his right-hand man, so Nishitani """tests""" him regularly to """build up his strength""" in a series of wacky stunts when he occasionally visits Kamurocho, inspiring Majima to do the same to Kiryu later on and actually helps him out, becoming thorn in Kiryu's side number 2.
He doesn't have any major plot involvement until around the time of Y3-Y4, where he discovers the Omi Alliance is purposefully keeping him from gaining any more power than he already has, restricting him to be nothing more than the clan's wildcard, which he doesn't appreciate to say the least. I'm not sure where to go from there, but I'll keep drawing his silly outfits as long as I can.
I imagine he'd choose this hippie style outfit after finding out Majima cares about the environment, holding up a "peace and love" sign or something in the street, then Majima walks up to him thinking "the fuck?? This ain't the 70s" but BAM it's actually Nishitani so they fight and then make out

TW://sexual assault, abuse
Kosei Shishido is a character that I have seen misrepresented in many aspects. I figured I would go ahead and represent what he actually stands for and the reasons for his always imminent betrayal.
Shishido has, in many aspects, lived a life close to Kiryu’s. He seems to be obsessed to a point with Joryu. He sees right through the exterior of that obviously fake codename. He sees the strength. He sees fully realized the type of man he wants to be, despite the Daidoji label marked deep into his skin. Kiryu still holds a space and carries the weight of the Dragon of Dojima as plain as the clothes on his back. That type of room captivating awe. That mere respect that no one really truly had shown him before was standing right in front of him and he was frustrated at the thought someone would strip themselves of a weight as powerful as that of Kazuma Kiryu. As we move through the story, you feel a profound sense of sadness weighing down on his shoulders. Knowing the yakuza world, it is easy to ignore this. The way he holds himself. The oni mask… Why would someone so powerful in build and bulk and someone who wants power hide their face from the light of day? Then we meet the puppet master.
Nishitani Homare III. A character who I rightfully despise, has taken control from Shishido in every possible concept. A former Jingweon Mafia member himself, he knew the importance of the weight of a name. Of appearance. Of merely existing in a circumstance that had never been born for him to inhabit. He has a stolen name, but not a stolen face. A name that has actual meaning in the yakuza world. He uses it disgracefully to the original owner, Homare Nishitani. I guarantee if Homare knew about the 3rd he would tear him to pieces. As I say this, I shift back to Shishido. His face, pockmarked, dragged, mangled by something. You notice this immediately after the mask comes off. It is a defining feature of a face that is exceptionally handsome. You wonder if this is the only part of his body to hold these deep pits categorized as scars. The pain that he must have felt as the weapon sliced his skin couldn't have been less than searing, white hot. Then Nishitani III unleashes his true villainy. He has Shishido under lock and key. His dog. He’s collared and it was hard to hear such a thing. Why? How?
Shishido was born under a different name. A name that held less weight than dog shit on the bottom of your shoe. He was sold into slavery by his father to the Kijin Clan, forced from fifteen to be in death matches in their coliseum. The more matches he won, the more he caught the attention of the person who oversaw these fights. Nishitani III. He was caught in his “good grace” to ultimately be taken advantage of. Tortured. The scars on his face held that weight. Sexually abused. His mind held this tightly, as you see in the particularly hard to watch cutscene of one of Watase’s guys openly commenting and making fun of him for. This went on for decades a “living hell” that “broke his mind and body”. What did he have to do other than fight? What could he do when he lost, facing the 3rd and hoping he would hopefully do the least amount of damage to him. When did his mind break? Did it take a while of the abuse? Or did he withstand some of it, only to be broken by another thing forcefully done to him? In any case, even the name Watase gave him, with time, degradated and withered. He felt less and less like a human and perhaps more like a monster. An oni, perhaps? Forced and fed into violence, striking down those who would hurt him, would hurt his abuser. This is why he feels betrayed and ultimately would betray Kiryu, his name was not enough for him and he needed to know why.
Shishido, crushed, broken, tired. He was everything when he went into the building to retrieve the note that was to end the Omi Alliance forever. The place that had given him his name, although now it felt and rang hollow, couldn’t end just like that, right? He was dumbfounded. Heartbroken, even. How could they do this to him? How could they get rid of this for everyone who had gained a name from their somewhat twisted profession? What about the legends? What about title and rank and bosses and underlings? He was even somewhat worried about what that meant for Nishitani III even despite everything. He had given him power, even if it was lesser than he would have wanted. The “murder” of the 3rd was framed as a mercy. As if he survived, what would happen to the dissolution plan? Although this pissed Kiryu and Tsuruno off, at least he was gone. Until he wasn't.
The full villainy of Shishido is overwritten by his extreme grief and hatred. He was about to lose another name, one granted by the people who had saved his life and given it purpose. Who else did he have to turn to other than his abuser, Nishitani Homare III. Who also suspected Joryu’s real nature. Whose name symbolized power in the Kijin Clan. Who could overturn the dissolution with sheer numbers, if he desired. Kiryu was their shared enemy. Kiryu was also their ultimate downfall. Joryu isn’t a man. He is a concept. A ghost. When you have hauntings, who do you call? Well, Shishido and the 3rd saw themselves as Ghostbusters of sorts. If he was revealed to be alive, what would happen to the things he was trying to protect? No one knew, but it was a point of contention. If they could get the Dragon of Dojima behind them, if they could reveal he was still alive? The dissolution would come falling down with them. This is the end to which the means are defined. Shishido had to protect his abuser because he had lost every other thing that had given him the little power he did possess. The collar tightened around his neck and with it, he lost his power again.
After Kiryu defeats Shishido, there is nothing left for him. I’m sure he knew, somewhere. Deep down he would lose. But he went down fighting with everything he had. But little did he know he wouldn’t die there. An even worse fate awaited him and his abuser. They were both taken to become Daidoji, to become complicit to their ways, even if they had to keep them half alive to do so. I can only imagine the terror as Shishido wakes up only to find he’s lost not only his name, but his rank and power along with it. The dissolution went off without a hitch. Kosei Shishido was a dead man and to top it all off? He was to be in this organization with a new name, new rank. He would have to fight to be back at the top, although the top is different in Daidoji’s books. There is no top. You are either a good agent or a bad one. The realization he was to spend probably the rest of his life chained to his abuser while simultaneously chained like a dog to the Daidoji was one I could only imagine caused the worst pain in him. I fear it may have even made him complicit to the Daidoji, which will have to be figured out with the release of Infinite Wealth. I hope there is a way to save him in some way, as I think he does deserve peace.

Like a Dragon Gaiden Spoilers ahead!
The other day I rewatched this scene and oh fuck I remembered why it hurts me so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's the fact that Tsuruno didn't know that Shishido felt this way and now he's so confused and just want him to stop. Judging by the things that he did for him but also having in mind that Tsuruno came to him when he was already so tortured by the Kijin Clan there must be a lot for things that he didn't know about Shishido because he learned how to act "normal" in front of people in higher ranks than him.

BLACK CLOVER CHAPTER 342 LEAKs
EARLY LEAKS FUCK
WE'RE GETTING BACKSTORY
Yami's clan apparently are assassins known for battle prowess and descended from Kijin
I can't tell which kanji Ichika uses but most of the searches I can find lead to kijin made of the kanji both demon and divinity, which is CONCERNING
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently the there's an old legend that a five headed dragon had come from a rift BETWEEN THE HUMAN REALM AND UNDERWORLD(??? THROUGH SPACETIME DISTORTION???) and left a massive black sea after the battle with a divine maiden
I'm assuming that means that there was a diety user or a spirit there at the time
Yami's dad: worst father in current BC history
Yami and Ichikas mom died after Uchika was born and Yami's sperms donor is a SHITHEAD whos mad at Ichika for *reads scans* being born a woman into a clan of warriors
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Needless to say, Yami clearly took the "I swear I'll be better than my dad" to heart
CALM BEFORE THE STORM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ryuuya says he wants to make a world where everyone laughs together and that he's indifferent to status or magical prowess. Yami says its not a bad dream
OOF
Tumblr media
Okay, so some things that matter in the page: everyone outside of Ichika and Ryuuya are killed. Ichika seems to not have any injuries whereas Ryuuya is beat up. Ichika seems to be feverish/fighting to stay awake.
Considering we've got a "holy maiden defeated the 5 headed he'll dragon which left a black sea" legend and with Yami's clan guarding the place, what's the chances of alcoholic father pulling a sacrifice shit? High.
THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTINGGGG
Tumblr media
To all the people who thought Yami would get a samurai mana skin, you've been bamboozled

All of this being a ploy to annoy Nishitani off enough that he leaves his boat (they beat up the Kijin Clan in town too) and hurt both his ego and reputation is. Amazing.

RGG Tactics Who's Who
"Beefgnaw, who the fuck are all these Yakuza OCs you keep posting about"
Here you go. List will be updated as the story gets hashed out.
Hiroshi Aoyagi (aka Sojiro Amano): the protagonist of RGG Tactics. A Majima Family man with a knack for turning restaurants into licenses to print money. General manager of Kiwami Cafe in Kamurocho and later Neko-Kai Cafe in Sotenbori. A little guy with a big mouth. Loyal to a fault and stubborn as shit. Nishida's oath brother. Later forced to be Majima Construction's chief of safety and compliance and he hates every second of it.
Eiji Yamaoka: A Nishikiyama Family hitman who presents himself as a protective big brother to Aoyagi, but neither Aoyagi nor the audience are fooled by his bullshit. Clean and methodical on the clock, charming and outgoing on his own time, rarely seen without at least one pretty girl on his arm.
Yusuke Kuroshi/Homare Nishitani II: Current patriarch of the Kijin Clan, retainer to the Omi Alliance chairman, chairman of the Sotenbori Civic Association's Board of Directors, and legendary info broker. By all appearances, the exact opposite of his predecessor. Cold, calculating, refined, sometimes cruel, always in control. Or... almost always. If you've read "It's All About the Bit" you've met him.
Keiichi Sugihara (Kei-chan): Nishitani II's better half, Civic Association member, owner of a video game store with a slightly illegal console chop shop in the back room, tech hobbyist who believes in better ass-kicking through technology.
Nobuaki Chiba: Kijin Clan lieutenant. Very intimidating if you don't know him. Kind of intimidating if you do know him, but for the most part he's Just A Guy who likes beer and fried shit and sportsball and throwing some good old fashioned hands in the street. Aoyagi's first friend in Sotenbori.
Shigeo "Doc" Nakamura: A doctor working for the Sotenbori Civic Association. Nobody's a hundred percent sure he actually has a license to practice but he does good work and he doesn't ask uncomfortable questions.
Shiori Hanada: A hostess at Club Sunshine who personally puts the fear of God into some asshole who's been snapping covert hostess foot pics under the tables and selling them on the street. She later goes to work at Cabaret Grand after Sunshine's current owner becomes too shitty a boss to stand.
Daikichi "b0ngl0rd69" Tomita: A friend(?) of Sugihara's who makes him look downright normal about games by comparison. Walks around Sotenbori with an honest to God gunblade. Is absolutely aware that the number in his handle has some... connotations in English.
Akemi "Crystal Star Sapphire" Sakurai: A hostess at Jewel in Kamurocho who moonlights at a magical girl-themed cosplay bar. She is an engineering major at Touto University who combines her technical knowhow with her prop-building skill to create ice-based weapons that are as dangerous (and possibly illegal) as they are pretty.
Minoru "Unlucky" Uchida: A string of poor life choices starting on the morning of his 42nd birthday have rendered him the unluckiest yakuza alive. Every single time his turn comes up, he will get hit by a random environmental hazard--and usually one with splash damage. His only real use in battle is to be sent into the middle of enemy formations like a laser-guided misfortune missile.
Torahiko Kogawa: Cat cafe mogul and terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad person. The antagonist of the Cat Cafe Grand Prix sideplot.
Yashiro Noguchi: CEO of Millennium Holdings in Sendai, currently being blackmailed by someone connected to his former boss.
Miyuki: Mysteriously dumped at the animal shelter in the dead of night and subsequently entrusted to Aoyagi's care as his first cafe cat. Pure white with the prettiest deep blue eyes. Magnificently fluffy, amazingly sociable, and stone deaf.
Ryo Amon: Personal chef to the Amon Clan, challenges Aoyagi and his crew to a cooking battle at the end of the Chef League sideplot.
Gen Amon: Leader of a breakaway sect of the Amon Clan, takes issue with certain rules of engagement the Amon Clan adheres to. He and his team are the requisite RGG Secret Boss Battle. Yes, Aoyagi gets not one but TWO rounds of Amon Clan Bullshit to deal with in this game.
Nyamon: A huge stocky black cat with God tier stats, who mysteriously shows up at the cat cafe shortly after you beat Gen Amon's team. While most of the cafe cats will let you put cute accessories on them, Nyamon will hiss at you if you attempt to swap his aviator shades out for something else.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name further details story, characters, and organizations
Gematsu Source
Tumblr media
Publisher SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released new information and screenshots on the story, characters, and organizations of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Get the details below, via the official website.
■ Story
What must you sacrifice to protect the ones you love?
A former legend in the yakuza world, Kazuma Kiryu fakes his death in order to protect his loved ones.
Having become an agent for the Daidoji Faction and assigned the codename “Joryu,” Kiryu hunts down an illegal gold smuggling site in the Port of Yokohama. It was supposed to be an easy assignment; little more than loose change for the organization. When he arrives, he finds several dozen Daidoji agents on standby. Despite having reached the rank of chairman within the Tojo Clan, Kiryu has maintained a relatively low profile among his peers here. Unable to resist their provocation, he ends up violently lashing out, which only widens the gaping hole inside him.
However, at that very moment, a mysterious group shows up.
The deal had gone sour. No outsider should have known about it. And amid the chaos and confusion, the shady group seems to recognize Kiryu. They mustn’t be allowed to vanish into the shadows.
Though he had severed all ties to his past, Kazuma Kiryu finds himself stepping into the maelstrom of the underworld once more…

Tumblr media
The Watase Family is the most powerful group within the Omi Alliance and is led by Masaru Watase, who is next-in-line to become chairman of the alliance.

“Your next job just came in. For codename Joryu, of course.”
Leader of the Daidoji Faction.

Sunday Six once again! @four-white-trees, @mike----wazowski, @overdevelopedglasses. Yesterday I spent like five hours writing my fic for Shishitsu week so that's almost done save for one final scene to write and a bunch of editing lol. Here's an except from it:
"...Not ideal, but we’ll learn more about the Kijin Clan that way. Friends close—" “Enemies closer.” Watase swiveled his chair to the side and looked out the large window behind his desk. “You’re not usually this impulsive, Tsuruno. Are you that desperate for recruits or are you really this confident?” Watase chuckled, the affectionate noise rolling warm and heavy in the air. “Maybe both. Either way, you’ve entangled us for this guy. He’s gotta be someone extraordinary to get such special attention from ya.”

Chapter 3
RGGS really said "ok you weirdos can see Kiryu's feet but it'll cost you ¥300k" anyway here's some spoily shit
"the bond between manager and agent" nudge nudge wink wink say no more.
"So we need you to get rid of babby Nishitani for us" "you should know I"m not a killer" "well can you just like... almost kill him" "oh yeah that's totes fine" Kiryu PLEASE.
(I am very nervous about how much we may learn about what the Kijin Clan has been up to between 0 and now for uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh fanfic/script/whatever reasons but never mind that)
That Indiana Jones shit Kiryu pulls. *chef kiss* ...okay, and once again Mr. Not A Killer very much plugs several dudes right in center mass. Okay. Fine. To be fair he himself has taken multiple bullets in the same general area but again KIRYU PLEASE
