Synopsis: "do you honestly think I want your help? I'm desperate " you can still see the hatred he has for you in his eyes, but you can also see the desperation.

Genre: e2l, angst, fluff, smut-ish. Convict jk x police officer reader

You're in the chief's office waiting for him to arrive, he called for you which was rare. You were usually the one to follow him.

The air thickens when he enters the room as you exchange good mornings.

This man always carried an aura that made you stiffen and sit up straight.

"I've noticed your hard work and determination over the last cases you were on" He compliments you and you almost crack a smile as you thank him for his words.

"Don't let my compliment got to your head though" he chuckles and though you don't want to you chuckle aswell.

"It won't sir" you reassure.

"That's good cause I want you on the Kim case"

Your eyes almost bulge out in surprise when he says this. He wants you on this case? The case you've been thinking about every night even involving your neighbour to help discuss it.

"Me?" You question in disbelief and he nods "when?"

"Right now. The more officers we can have maybe the faster it can move. And you'll be joined by sunho...." and immediately he says sunho's name you block out the other names he says after that. You're gonna be working with sunho. Your heart races in frustration at the thought. First living with jungkook now working on the same case with sunho, what next?

When you get back to your station you hear sunho speak to you but you block him out.

"Looks like we're gonna be working together" you deadpan him not amused by his sarcastic tone. Why can't he just leave you alone.

If anyone ever told you that you were gonna be in a car with sunho in the driver's seat you would rebuke them. But you had no choice but to be there because you never know the advantage completing and solving this case might have. Though it's painful to sit next to him you just have to, who knows you could get promoted after this.

you and sunho are seated in front of one of the largest banks in town on an task the chief sent you on.

The chief sent you and him to collect a file containing information about the Kim case. You and sunho haven't really talked and he hasn't said much to you. Seems like he's only a big talker in a crowd.

"You wanna go in or should I" you ask. You already know your answer but you just wanna make him feel involved.

"I'll do it" he says stepping out of the car. You are really surprised he doesn't say anything to you. He seems kinda different when he's away from the crowd of his friends. You still don't like him though.

After being gone for seven minutes, sunho comes back with a file in his hand.

You tried to reach for it but he pulls it back.

"This is a job for the for the boys" and his lost his streak.

"Well read it out loud" you say not wanting to conversate with him much especially if it's not gonna be about the case.

"It's just some bank transactions between the kim company and Kim taehyung."

"Well that's boring, doesn't his father own the company anyways"

"No, his uncle owns it now" he informs you still going through the papers.

"Taehyung was supposed to inherit the company but his uncle ended up snatching it from him." This is the first time you've heard this news. You really don't involve yourself in corporate family drama.

"Do you really think he's part of the heists on the Kim company? " sunho looks at you like it's obvious but you're not staring at him to notice.

"That could be his motive." You come to a conclusion more to yourself.

"Yeah whatever" he says turning his attention back to the paper.

"Seems like this taehyung guy has been transferring money to different accounts in different countries."

"Do we know what for?

"No"

"Any names of the accounts his sending his money to. He might be sending money to his accomplices."

"But why would he do it from his own account if he doesn't want to draw attention to himself"

" who said he doesn't want to draw attention to himself"you say and sunho goes silent thinking.

"Give me the papers I want to look at them when I get back home." you stretch your hand for sunho to give you the papers but he doesn't.

"Who said you get to go home with them" you look at him with a confused look.

"Because I'm more invested in this than you are"

"Who said I'm not invested"

you reach out and try to snatch the file from him but he pulls away

"Sunho give me the papers"

" no"

You two too struggle for some time for the file until you finally grab them from him.

The drive back to the station is silent as you hold onto the file for dear life.

Once you get back to the station sunho goes back to his normal self making snarky comments about you. Such a wuss.

After that you decide to do a little more investigating on the case especially on Kim taehyung. You take your time to read previous findings from the other people on the case.

Jungkook is chilling on your couch drinking a smoothie he just made for himself when he gets a call from jin.

"Tell your little police friend to stop snooping around before she regrets it" jin says knowing jungkook has heard and is going to do as he says.

Jungkook doesn't say anything to him. He never really liked having conversations or interacting with jin cause he carries so many bad decisions that jungkook doesn't want to make but ends up making anyways.

You've been working and fixating on this case for two days now, not coming up with any leads only hypothesis.

A sensible person wouldn't openly share any money obtained from heists if he was involved. Maybe he wasn't involved in the case or maybe he is, maybe he's just the brains and not the muscle maybe he's creating a distraction. Why his own company though? to get to his uncle? but why? so many theories and so many unanswered questions.

You come down to the clever decision to go to the downtown side of town to see if anyone knew anything about taehyung. Everyone there knows about everything atleast even one person must know.

You go there in your personal car and regular clothes, which doesn't seem smart considering this side of town is the hotspot for criminal activities. But you go there with your badge and gun, that should be some kind of protection right?

You drive through the dark , eerie and pedestrian filled road. Even in broad daylight this place feels dark. You can see people stare at you and your car with looks you can't dissect but they're nothing friendly or welcoming.

You just wanna leave but you're here on a job so you can't. Your racing mind won't let you.

When you step out of your car after parking in some corner and locking it, you can feel all the haunting eyes people stare at you with. You look around, shoulders tensed and mind alert as you turn looking for a victim for your burning questions you aren't nervous or scared anymore and your body shows it.

"Nice car. What's it doing here?" You hear a man speak behind you and you turn sharply to find him tracing his fingers on the logo of your Mercedes. A gift you got from your family.

"Dont touch it" you sharply say immediately going to stand next to your car.

When he asks what a pretty girl and such a car are doing here, you show him your badge and he nods. It doesn't frighten him like you thought it would. He actually seems even more intrigued.

"What brings you here officer" he says not in the slightest bit sounding intimidated by you.

He's dressed in a black T-shirt and black slacks with his bleached hair styled to suit him. When he runs his hands through it you notice the silver rings that decorate his fingers and even the small silver chain that hangs around his neck, looks like some expensive stuff.

His dark Iris stare at you as you try to assert your dominance in this conversation. He looks like a guy who knows this place like the back of his hand he might be the one to help you.

"I'm looking for some information on Kim taehyung" you hope he might be the one to give them to you. Even though your question is a little bit direct you hope that the man isn't startled by it.

"Why is he in some trouble?"

"No just have some questions"

This side of town carried a lot of information about criminals and the like. So if taehyung is involved in the criminal activities somebody around here must know or even be working with him.

"Why are you coming around here? why not ask the man himself" he questions placing his hands into his dark pockets.

"I don't think he'd tell me business about his family, now would he?" you say smirking as you say that. You mimic the man's actions as you place your hands in your pockets as well.

"No I don't think he would" the man chuckles showing you his well arranged pearly white teeth.

"What's his relationship with his uncle" the man laughs at your evident curiosity.

He then begins to openly explain and when you hear that taehyung wasn't happy that his uncle had gotten the company and that he dispises his uncle you felt like you've heard enough.

"And is his uncle fond of taehyung?" you shift from one foot to the other as you take in the information.

"No" the man then leans into whisper something.

"He actually wants to run taehyung dry of his assets"

you feel like you're being fooled because how can someone know so much about a high ranked business man's personal life. Seems like they don't hide their business well.

"I think that will be all, thank you..." as you turn to go to your car, you turn back to the man who's still standing there watching you with a dark glare that makes you uneasy.

"And what's the name of the man giving me this information?" You watch the man intently.

"Jin" he says bluntly.

"Thank you jin" you thank him.

"Anytime" jin says giving you a warm smile which you return awkwardly. He watches your car drive away as you feel satisfied with the answers he's given you.

Jungkook curses under his breath at the sound of your feet against the floor. He's had to listen to this for over five hours and he's started to lose it.

A few minutes earlier he had brought the issue to you but you used your 'it's my house' card again. He knows it's your house it kills his ears whenever you remind him. But couldn't you spare his sanity on this one.

You've been busting your ass for two days every after work to work on this case. And even if jin's answers didn't make a break for the case, they definitely put you on a path to make more hypothesise.

The heists are mainly targeted at the Kim companies and any company in association with them so maybe taehyung is involved, because he's trying to get his uncle to step down due to the pressure and frustration of being the number one target of the heists

And unless he does step down you don't think taehyung will stop.

"Don't you think you've been working on this for a little too long." Jungkook says leaning against the door frame to your office or the room you like to work in.

The pen in your hand is stuck to the paper scribbling some connections, your eyes following each movement it makes.

You can feel jungkook move from the door and slowly walking towards you as he looks around the room. He takes in everything he sees. He always knew you were the organized reading type but two bookshops filled with books that's a bit much. Have you even read any of these.

His eyes run across all your achievements hung up on the wall, then he notices the gold medal hanging on the wall. He remembers this one you won it at the spelling competition. Jungkook wonders why they even held that competition.

That was the only time you beat jungkook. Yeah jungkook beat you when you it came to physicals but he could never beat you when it comes to books. It's not like he's not smart he actually is even earning himself and his school first place in the International School quizzes, when he was in high school. But there's just something that you have that he doesn't and even if you didn't capitalize on your intelligence in high school, because of your fear and shyness, you still had it and worked on it on your own at home.

Your dad would always push you to join these competitions but you never did. Your mother would always tell him to leave you alone and that you weren't ready.

Do you regret it, kind of. But you don't blame me yourself too much you had so much fear and doubt in you.

"Still sulking on how I beat you" you say noticing him looking at the medal. He chuckles turning his body towards you.

"No I knew you'd beat me" you don't say anything surprised by his confession.

"You're a smart girl y/n" he says smirking at you. Looking at him with suspicion you don't say anything wondering when he's gonna throw in an insult to make you feel less, but he doesn't. He simply stares at you noticing the shock on your face.

"What? surprised that I can actually have nice things to say" you continue to stare at him as he is eyes the papers on your desk related to the Kim case.

You nod "yeah I am" he laughs at that finally stopping in front of your desk and staring at you.

"Take a Break I made some brownies" he says not sounding like himself which makes you suspicious and confused. Jungkook sees it on your face. Since when did jungkook start baking and even inviting you to come eat with him.

"Come on I'm just trying to be kind to the person who took me in on that rainy night" you roll your eyes at his cringe.

"And who knows they might be better than yoongi's"

Pfft.

When he says that you scoff and stand up deciding you do need a break anyways, but also you really need to see if they might be better than yoongi's.

You walk to the door with jungkook standing by your desk.

"Well let's go" you say watching him and waiting at the door.

"Yeah right behind you" he taps his fingers against the wood of your desk as you nod and walk out to go to the kitchen.

Shortly after jungkook follows and walks behind you and quickly rushes to pull out the brownies he made.

They certainly don't look better than yoongi's and after tasting them you can definitely say they don't taste better than yoongi's.

They don't taste that bad, but if you got these at a bakery you'd be asking for a refund.

You're standing stiff feeling the tears about to fall. But you don't let them you don't even let the chief and sunho, who's yelling, know or tell that you want to cry.

"I warned you chief that she would fuck this up" he preaches walking around as he complains.

"That's why I didn't want you to have them, I knew you'd lose them."

You can't even stand up for yourself because you're in the wrong. It's your fault and the last person you'd want to admit that to is sunho and even if you don't want to admit it he's probably right. Maybe you shouldn't have kept them. But you didn't think anything like this would happen.

"Maybe someone broke into my house" you finally say your tone quiet and sorrowful.

But there weren't any signs of a break in when you searched every inch of your house.

You're neighborhood is one of the safest neighborhoods in town, if not first place in safety. That's why you wanted to move there. So you doubt someone would break into your house to just steal that one folder, because that's the only thing that was missing including the vase you got from your grandmother.

"You're just making excuses" sunho scoffs "fucking bitch" you hear him mumble. And before you say what your heart wants to say the chief steps in.

All this time he's been quiet listening to you and sunho argue but mostly sunho just rumbling.

"Enough sunho" he says towards sunho who immediately shuts up to your amusement.

"Now y/n tell me what happened"

You explain everything to him, except jungkook. You didn't mention him because he had told you he didn't want anyone who knows him to know that he was living with you. That brought up some questions on your side but he didn't answer them, only vaguely telling you that one of the bar fight guys might still want to fight him. Which still doesn't make sense to you but you respect his wishes wanting to investigate him yourself.

My controversial Kdrama opinions

1. Ko Moon Young was just a psychologically messed up girl. She isn't the 'girlpower' or 'badass' that the Kdrama fandom likes to dub her into.

2. In 'Hotel del Luna', they could've just chucked the entire character of Gu Chansung out of the window and gave Chang Myung a rebirth/rebirths,make him go through various trials and tribulations to repent and earn Man Wol's forgiveness. Didn't have to make it unnecessarily tragic.

3. Unnecessarily tragic reminds me, the 'realistic' ending of 2521 was a JOKE. There was NO point of developing such a power couple if they were to break up for such a mundane reason.

4. Romance genre isn't Song Kang's 'thing'. He shines better as an actor in non-romance genres.

5. Had they focused on developing Ju Kyung as an individual character who finally learns how to completely take a stand for herself instead of dangling her between Suho and Seojun, 'True Beauty' would've become a more popular and appreciated drama.

6. The love line between Hwang InYeop and Seo Hyun Jin's character in 'Why her: Oh Soo Jae' was absolutely unnecessary and awkward.

7. Jo Bo Ah and Ahn Bo Hyun and an amazing chemistry in 'Military Prosecutor: Do Bae Man'. However, they could've developed a slowburn romance between them instead of abruptly putting a kiss sequence in the last episode out of nowhere.

8. In 'Snowdrop', Eun Young Ro forgiving Soo Ho later on didn't make sense. Their kiss sequence was purely fan service,nothing else.

9. Individual acting aside,Kim Hye Yoon had more chemistry with Lee Jae Wook(2nd lead) than Rowoon(main lead) in 'Extraordinary You'.

10. Writers are overusing 'Let's kill off the main character and make the show tragically memorable' trope wayyy too much.

11. As much as it physically hurts me given the chemistry of the actors,Choi Do Il and Oh In Joo not having any proper romantic sequence till the end of 'Little Women' makes sense to the storyline(the shipper me might've wanted a hug though).

12. Also the writers should stop doing the 'lets make the second lead better than the main lead'. Its annoying to see one person actually making sincere effort for the girl but the girl ends up totally ignoring their effort and like the ML. Not in just Kdramas but in all sorts of dramas. I actually saw a Chinese drama where the second lead finally turned into a villain. I LITERALLY commented 'good for him' lmao.

13. Sunho in 'Cheer Up' is problematic. Neither his sad backstory nor his sincere feelings for Haeyi changes that fact.

14. The Heirs(2013) drama wasted an opportunity to pair Young Do(Kim Woobin) with Yoo Rachel(Kim Jiwon). No, they didn't need to be 'siblings'. I'd have chosen the two heartbroken yet sassy and tough people romance over the sappy romance of the main couple in a heartbeat. And the actors would've NAILED it.

15. Jojo not ending up with Sunho in 'Love Alarm' finally broke the 'Cinderella and Prince Charming' fairytale trope of Kdramas. That girl was too messed up in the head . She didn't need the rich,fierce and impulsive lover, but the quite,patient and thoughtful one. So don't go ahead and say the ending sucked. Maybe they could've made things more coherent, but no the ending didn't suck.

16. Moon Dong Eun should have remained single, with the last episode ending with him crossing paths with Do Yeong, with Yeonjin & gang & all the revenge agenda gone, she could hv offered him a smile and a game of Go, keeping an open ending for them. Lee Do Hyun was fabulous in playing Yeojeong and their chemistry was amazing. But they could hv just been partners in crime with their teamwork without the romantic plot between them.

17. No. Ryu Shi Oh doesn't give second lead syndrome. Byun Woo Seok is a very good actor but he plays the villain in 'Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon' and not anti-hero. Lee Yoo Mi and him should be paired opposite to e/o in some other project in the future but Shi Oh and Nam Soon ain't the 'enemies to lovers' you think it is.

Start Up

This was the first k-drama where I legit thought that the 2nd male lead was actually the first male lead until half-way through the show. While I do really like Nam Do-San’s character, I think Han Ji-Pyeong made me feel WAY more. Especially in terms of the romantic chemistry.

In the beginning, I was so satisfied with the show. But then I think somewhere around the 12th or 13th episode I started to get bored and disappointed. I think that’s mainly because halmeoni suddenly became a side side character and even Ji-Pyeong didn’t have as much screen time. I also feel like there were some sub-plots that were highly unnecessary because they weren’t fleshed out well and felt disconnected like the friend’s brother who died and he wanted revenge, the whole Alex California 3 year time-jump thing. Like that really slowed down the show and made me go ??? The finale however redeemed the show for me!

There were solid side characters in this k-drama, something I generally appreciate about k-dramas as a whole. The character development was also solid and sweet. I think the one that most touched me was Seo/Won In-Jae’s character development.

I found more depth in her character than even Seo Dal Mi’s. I loved how she changed her name and then visited her grandmother because she just couldn’t do that before it. I get it. I really do. I think we all take our time to do the things we should/want to and that’s completely okay.

Which brings me to the point that Seo Dal Mi, especially towards the second half, felt like a very basic character. I think she was perhaps the only one who didn’t have much development. I honestly didn’t even find her and Nam Do San’s romance to be great or swoon-worthy.

The most touching connection for me in this kdrama was Han Ji-Pyeong and halmeoni’s. Like OH MY GOD. Whether it was when he was a child or even as an adult, their scenes made me cry.

It was the most wholesome, sincere relationship in the entire show! Whether it was her taking him in and thinking he would rob her money in the shop or him thinking that she gave away his investment profits to her son - and both of them being wrong. The scene at the bus station where she gives him a new pair of shoes and tells him only to contact him when he is upset/alone/ill.

The fact that she calls him good boy. Ahhhhhh. EVERY bit of it. Like even in the finale when she goes to his house and breaks down when she recognises he is sad + lonely I couldn’t stop my tears!!!!! It’s like he can be his true self with halmeoni.

And can I just ramble on about Ji-Pyeong? Firstly his dimples. I can’t deal.

Secondly his acting. Thirdly his dialogue and his character arc. The way he was so smart in investing and work. The way he could give real feedback and the way he could be honest with Nam Do-San at the end. Aso the fact that he asked him to stop feeling inferior - ahhhhh. Someone really needed to tell Do-San to feel confident and enough and the fact that Ji-Pyeong did that meanth EVERYTHING. Everything about Ji-Pyeong had my heart! His conversations with Yeong-Shila and his drunk moments. And everything in between. I am really heartbroken that he ended up alone. To be honest, by the end of it I really wanted him to end up with In-Jae. I think they as a couple would surprise all of us.

I know this may be a controversial opinion but both In-Jae and Ji-Pyeong were such strong characters and I feel like they would have easily overpowered the actual first leads (individually and together) if some more attention was paid to them. Which is probably why it wasn’t? But I feel like had the writers of the show leaned more into these two characters. They were smart, mature, emotionally more complex and that’s probably one of my major disappointments with Start-Up.

But anyhooo, I really appreciated that the last scene was Nam Do-San and Seo Dal-Mi walking to their investor meeting and not their wedding scene. Because yaaaas power couple! I also love how her being the CEO didn’t make Do-San feel inferior or have some sexist ego complex.

Talking about other side characters I really appreciated Seo Dal Mi’s mom’s redemption. It warmed my heart. I loved how Nam DO San’s father at the end put up the Samsan Tech sign board in the living room and said that the next time he thinks his son is doing something he doesn’t approve of he will look at it 3 times and wait it out/support him? Jung Sa-Ha and Lee Chul-San’s romance appealed to me a lot more than the leads’ romance - no kidding.

Some of my FAVOURITE scenes were between Nam Do-San and Ji-Pyeong. Like in one of the first few episodes when they are at that conference/party where Nam Do-San shows up as a hot-shot entrepreneur for Dal-Mi and then the two guys move aside to show that they are talking and know each other and Do-San is like what do we talk about? ANd Ji-Pyeong is like let’s just recite the national anthem! I DIED. And then at the end when he invests in Cheonymyeong and they shake hands, how initially Ji-Pyeong only shakes with his two fingers. They both individually and together were beautiful.

Also can I just say how cool I found the founder and CEO of sandbox just struck me as the COOLEST woman? She’s the kind of person I’d want as my mentor and friend if I was starting a business. And Dal Mi-s father’s backstory is just so very s ad with him finally getting an investment but also like dying the very same day. Sandbox really feels in some way his legacy?

And I also low-key found the relation between Ji-Pyeong and park Dong-Chun endearing. Like ho Dong-Chun aways recommends all these lovely start ups that aren’t really profitable but he just cannot resist it! And how Ji-Pyeong finally personally invests in the start up for kids who leave orphanages at 18 in the end :’) I was waiting for him to finally personally invest in something like this because he’s rich and he can and I loved it. More than the investing, his meeting with the CEO of that start up was funny and how he wasn’t harsh towards him and how also said he wants a few kids that he can mentor! My heart!

Nam Do-San. I love how he had SO many insecurities because I have always associated that with the female leads whether in kdramas or just generally in the world of fiction. And the fact that he didn’t have any toxic or abusive outlets for his issues is what made me adore him. The friendship between him and his two developer friends was also very heartwarming.

I did really like the business and entrepreneurship aspect of the show like how thye tried to include concepts like the J curve and why you should be a majority shareholder in your own business and what investors look for and stuff. Ofc I would have LOVED it to be more heavy on that aspect but I get that for the general viewership that probably wouldn’t have worked.

One of the most striking things about Start Up was the relationship between the two sisters. I can’t tell you how much I was digging the fact that neither of them, especially Won In-Jae (at the time) tried to backstab or fuck things up for the other. Even though they had been away for a decade and clearly had made opposite choices in picking their parents and hence a lot of their life, they didn’t once sabotage the other. In fact, they were always concerned about the other when it really came down to it. And them reuniting and working together was a highlight for me.

This is one of the few kdramas that got the finale done so beautifully. But since Ji-Pyeong’s 2020 life wasn’t really shown to us this is how I’m narrating it in my head. He and In-Jae get together and are this smart power-couple who can open up with each other and be soft and adorable. He also has formed meaningful connections with two kids who left the orphanage and their connection is as wholesome as his and halmeoni's. He and In-Jae live together in his apartment facing Han River and keep cutely arguing over start up ideas and companies to invest in. Now any time he looks at Seo Dal Mi and Do San he feels friendly affection and this sort of protective vibe. He found some super eye specialist and got halmeoni's eye sight fixed. Her corn dog shop became a huge franchise cos plot twist In Jae and Dal Mi's mother is actually v strategic in business growth.

The usual side comments and mumbles are heard as you walk through the station to the chief's office. You ignore everyone and mind your business, as you always do, when you feel a large strong hand grab your ass.

"It's just how we talked about boys" you hear sunho, one of the officers, yell as his friends cheer him on.

This crosses your boundary and you punch his nose, which causes him to grab his now bloody nose and groan. You threaten to pull out your gun but the yells coming from the other officers telling you to stop held you back. You decide to continue your journey giving sunho one last nasty glare and you notice how he grabs the tissue his friend gives him.

"Whore" you hear one if sunho's friends yell towards you but you keep moving and finally reach the chief's office. You'd have to tell the chief about this.

You walk in after his authoritative 'come in'

"Good morning officer" he greets "I'm sure you have the report I asked for" he says this his attention not fully on you but on some papers.

"Good morning sir and yes I do" he stretches his hand signaling you to give them to him which you do. He doesn't look at it but simply puts them away to the side.

You stand in position seemingly waiting for his attention so you can tell him the other thing you have to him.

He looks your way meeting your eyes with his cold ones.

"Anything else I can do for you?" He asks not rudely but it definitely sounds that way. Before you can start your sentence someone walks into the office and after lecturing the officer over knocking he lets the man speak.

"We have some leads on the Kim robbery" the chief stays silent for a moment takening in the information and turns to you.

"I'm pretty sure you're concern can wait can't it?" He didn't even get to hear you out. You nod taking it as your cue to leave. You close the door behind you and you wait before you leave, standing in front of the door for a bit. No one could see you.

"We've located one of the guys, taehyung but he's on the run" you hear the officer say

"but the other two are nowhere to be found and we still dont know how many in total they are"

"no description of the others?"

" No "

You decided to walk away not wanting to snoop any further, if they wanted you on the case they'd let you.

You've been hearing about this case. A group of guys apparently robbing the largest Kim company and holding people at gunpoint, even killing two and one injured. You wonder what idiots would think of robbing the Kim company. But it also surprises you how they've seamlessly been able to slip and hide.

You didn't get the chance to eat yoongi's brownies that he brought you two days ago, you hope they're still okay but you don't worry cause stored them pretty well. You hope he isn't mad at you for how long you've taken to give him the feedback.

So you're now bent over your counter stuffing your face with the brownies while going through your phone. These brownies are so good you'd swear he bought them from a bakery. You haven't had anything this good in a while, well except for the caffeine you take in everyday, nothing can beat that. While you're stuffing your face with brownies you see a message from your Dad.

"Don't forget your mother's birthday. We're having a Birthday Gathering I hope you can come."

Shit, you forgot that this weekend's your mother's birthday, you feel so horrible for forgetting. So you decide to punish yourself by closing the brownie box and stuffing it back into the fridge.

You're still beating yourself up when you're startled by the sound of the tap turning on. You thought you were alone.

"when did you enter the kitchen?" still startled you ask jungkook who's washing his hands and for a second you see him stare at your ass. Who can blame him you're wearing your pajama shorts and on your tippy toes stuffing the box on the top and highest shelf of your fridge.

He turns his gaze away as he dries his hands.

"just got in" he lies, he was watching you as you beat yourself up for forgetting your mother's birthday and stuff your face with yoongi's brownies. As a matter of fact he didn't even need to wash his hands he used it has an excuse to enter the kitchen.

"Anyway" you change the topic and walk to the other side of the island. You're trying to find a gentle way of saying what you want to say.

"It's past 4 days" you beat around the bush and fiddle with your fingers. You didn't want to be rude about it but it had to be said.

You don't want to hurt his feelings, but think about all the times he's hurt your feelings you think to yourself. You think for a bit remember the times he'd hurt your feelings, what you're gonna say can't be worse than that.

Jungkook watches you knowing what you want to say but wanting you to say it.

"It's passed four days and and you're still here" you say sternly finally finding your confidence.

"when I moved in this house I didn't plan on feeding two mouths."

Jungkook looks at you but you can't keep the same eye contact, he doesn't say anything just letting you speak. The silence lingers for a bit when he finally speaks.

"y/n if you want me to leave just say so" he says leaving the kitchen, you immediately rush over to grab him by his tattooed arm to stop him from moving.

"That's not what I meant" what are you even saying it is what you meant, and why are you holding onto him. You quickly pull your arm away from him as if his arm had suddenly turned into a hot coal.

Why are you trying to 'plead' or justify what you're saying, you should be standing your ground. You didn't want jungkook in your house and that's final. But again somewhere in you, you didn't want to kick him out like a dog.

"You know jungkook, I don't know what happened to you" your tone is a little loud and rough and he has his back to you but he doesn't move.

"You were the best, better than me better, than sunho for fucks sake, better than everyone" you continue to yell.

He truly was the best at everything when competitions came around and people knew he was participating they would honestly forget about winning. You always had hope that someone would beat him and you'd hoped it be you.

And after he wins he'd always commend you for believing in yourself, mocking you of course, you honestly didn't know why you hated jungkook. Maybe it was because he hated you or that he hung out with shitty people, sunho, you really hated the fact that you three graduated together and got the same job at the same office. It didn't make life any better for you.

"Ever since you lost your job" you can't continue and take a much needed break to calm yourself.

"what happened to you" now you think about it you never actually knew why jungkook got fired it was so early on and sudden. Alll you knew is that he got fired and after that you never saw much of him.

The guy who spent his entire time at the Academy and work making your life hell, got fired. You should have been happy that he got fired but it didn't bring you much pleasure and you didn't know why. You often thought about it and him but you always brushed it off your brain telling you you should be happy that one of your nightmares were gone.

Henhasn't turned to look at you or even speak but when he does you can't tell what you see in his eyes, but it's nothing you've ever seen in him even when he'd tell you the most hurtful things.

"I never liked how you never knew how to mind your own business" he says so calmly but with so much bitterness.

"how can I? How can I mind my own business when you're living in my house?" you start to move your hands around showing your confusion towards the situation.

"for all I know you could be a criminal on the run jungkook" you don't know why you said it but it's the first thing that comes to mind.

You see jungkook's face change when you say that and he scoffs.

" you really think I'm a criminal? You really think I could be one? Huh? y/n" he presses the question.

"I don't know" you lower your tone unsure. You actually don't think jungkook can be a criminal but your mind is clouded that you don't know what to think.

"well if you want to know why I got fired so bad" you stand not wanting to speak, you had already spoken your mind.

" I got to charged for fraud"

your jaw drops both physically and mentally. Fraud? jungkook?what?
