similar note to a recent ask, how might one tell the difference between mental kin shifts and plurality?

Have this answer we wrote back in 2021: I also sometimes struggle to tell if something is a kinshift or if I'm just fronting with someone else. But I guess if you feel like someone else, you're probably co-fronting, and if you still feel like yourself and only feel like yourself (with the addition of your kinshift of course but like. That stil counts as yourself), then it's probably a kinshift. But if you can't tell, try talking to whatever's there, and if you get a reply it's probably not a kinshift. (source)

quick tip for my fellow therians/otherkin: GROW YOUR NATURAL NAILS OUT!!!!!!!!! get yourself some cuticle oil and a nail care kit and start growing them out and filing them into a shape that feels nice to you. i PROMISE it feels way better than getting extensions and the joy of growing your own claws is immense

Anyone else get phantom legs? laying down in a certain position triggers mine.

( Sometimes i feel canine legs instead of human ones. I only started getting phantom legs early last year, but had ears since I was a kid. )

I've been having sooo many muzzle shifts lately that are like a big dogs and I'm questioning if I have more then one type. Too clunky to be my normal tiny muzzle. Same with a clunkier tail. Feels similar to the wolf shifts I used to have all the time. My ears are still gone. My muzzle has been here all day tho.

Do any other therians, otherkin, or people who have shifts; experience them be sometimes a negative overwhelming or tiring thing? Especially if you're in a shift for a long time. As if there's a "shift burnout" or something, idk exactly how to describe it.

For me, shifts are generally a pleasant experience, even energising or comforting. There are times however that I'll get tired of being in a shift for too long, or from shifting frequently - as if I need a break. It's not something I choose consciously either, it just happens.

Lore time for Stinker

Stinker was given the job to manage the mini-ship that the crew has. This is because she loves buttons and controls, and likes things that are shiny and colorful. Since it’s sort of a special interest to him, he’s very good at it.

The members of the crew have traumatic experiences with relatives or other adults in general, which is why they prefer to stay away from the adult space crew. Stinker especially. She hates being around adults unless it’s one or two he trusts. He has a traumatic experience with it. When she was 4 she was targeted by predatory adult animals (not sexual) because she was easy to manipulate due to her trusting mind. It was hard for her to determine friend from foe because of her being autistic. Adults often used her as a sort of thing to get their way because he was disabled and that made people feel bad. (Note: he uses forearm walkers and they’re attached inside the spacesuit, having latches to bend her arms.) not to mention he was autistic and that made people think he needed special treatment, so adults such as family or family friends (often family friends that were predator animals) would manipulate her.

She’s genderfluid because she was born with both female and male genital, etc. not to mention testosterone and estrogen, though most of it isn’t present because he’s young.

He hates spiders, being alone. Not alone like peace, alone like alone forever. She’s also very touchy.

I'm in a creepypasta kin shift so i wanted to say something I remember as sally williams.

Ben enjoyed annoying people on purpose, in the mansion and in video games. He would purposely guess the password wrong on people phones and stuff so they would be locked for hours. He would also walk into peoples rooms and unplug their anything connected to an electronic.

E.j was very much like a parent to me and he was the one that found me in the woods as a ghost. He usually doesn't wear his mask unless he wants to scare people because his black eye goop gets on the inside of it.

I also remember that I had short hair and not long hair, I also hated wearing dresses after I was killed.

A shift I had the other day

So the other day I was at my grandmas house. Behind her house she has a creek. I went outside near the creek, there was so many dragon flys. Something I noticed about my bobcat self is that I love chasing and catching dragon flys, moths, crickets, etc. I saw a black and yellow dragon fly, I was already in a shift but I feel this made it stronger. I was in a hunting pose, like a bobcat would do, slowly creeping up on the small dragon. I had almost caught him and I swear on everything, his head turned and like tilted before I pounced. It was the craziest thing I’ve even seen. It shocked me out of me shift and I just sat there like omg what.

Enby culture is feeling extremely conflicted with your gender, due to your kins. You kin a man, a woman, and someone whose gender is not confirmed in any way, even though i am neither of those. I am not a woman, man or a person who's questioning.
