We need to have a real conversation about how some of the races come as extra boring because of the awful TV direction, like in Miami I don’t think they even showed Yuki’s amazing moves? really fucking sucks when people don't understand that some people have different sleep schedules to them. like society is already Very Much Not set up for people who are awake at night (even though that's a better schedule for some people) and it makes it all the worse when people are a bitch to you for like. not sleeping at the same time as them? like my mom was like "you need to be on a sleep schedule that is functional for humans" like. i am. it's just one that happens to make you obscenely upset for no discernible reason and I can't help that. Literally have had people suggest LITERAL DRUGS (caffine and sleeping medications that I don't need) or melatonin (which you REALLY shouldn't take unless a doctor tells you to, it can really, really fuck up your ability to sleep properly. like a lot) to get me on a "natural" sleep schedule like. bro. if I have to take drugs to achieve it it isn't natural. Whenever I have to be up at day and asleep at night it really fucks with my health and makes me insanely tired all the time. also I literally cannot go to sleep at night unless I'm exhausted. because my body recognizes that it's Awake Time for me and keeps me awake. And I'm pretty much always tired during the day because that's Sleep TIme for me. This is a perfectly ine and normal way that some people are. The literal only issue with it is that society isn't set up for it (fixable) and some people get unreasonably upset by someone quietly being awake while they're asleep apparently (also fixable). If you just had more things be allowed to happen at night (places being open, jobs having a night shift etc.) and had some fucking people get over the fact that other people are different to them (very easy to do, almost everyone does it all of the time) then there would be Literally Zero Problem with people being nocturnal. just let me have a normal healthy sleep schedule I am begging you.

I'm really tired of the "woman sad about her arranged marriage" trope, especially if that woman is royalty.

I am sure that many women across time were sad about their arranged marriages, but I'm sure a lot of others were excited, ambivalent, or resigned. Again, especially if you were royalty! I am sure if you were born a princess, you were trained from birth that your whole purpose in life was to marry someone important to solidify the power of the person on the throne. And honestly, it's an important job, if it wasn't, they wouldn't have tried so hard to do it.

That woman isn't just marrying another king or prince, she's going to be an ambassador of her country. She's supposed to be there promoting good relations. She isn't just a woman being sold off, she has a job! Also, if she is marrying the reigning monarch (or the heir), she may well end up running the country if the king is off at war or he dies when the heir is really young. That happened a lot throughout history! (or maybe she marries the third son and helps him find his way to the throne. Good for her)

It just feels like a modern sentiment being projected back. In Romeo and Juliet, when Juliet's mother first brings up marrying her to Paris, Juliet's basically cool with it and says she'll try to like him. She would have known this was going to happen because that is what rich women do, they marry into another family so their two families can be buddies. What else would she even be expecting?

It wouldn't bother me so much except that it's all we see! Give me a story about a woman who is like, "Cool, I shall give it my all!" Or she's like rolling up her sleeves and planning how she's going to get the court on her side and rule France, power behind the throne style (these women are mostly portrayed as villains, but who is to say the king would do a better job?). And also, have a little faith in women's fathers? You think men in the past didn't occasionally consider the happiness of their daughters? Not even a little bit?

Always an experience watching the leftism leave FNAF fans when someone mentions that Scott Cawthon financially backed fascist politicians.

It’s okay to romanize it as ‘Jungryeok’, but please do not address him as ‘Gravity.’ I know we had this talk with 악어 (Acau) and to not call him crocodile, but I’m already seeing some people complaining about how hard his name is. It’ll take some time to get used to, but please please please call him 중력. If I had to give a guide on how to pronounce it, it would be like ‘jung-nyeok.’ It’s not one for one, but he’ll introduce himself and then you can base your pronunciation off of that.

viewing the fnaf movie as just a movie doesn't work. you're sabotaging yourself and taking away all the enjoyment from it if you don't think of it as the fnaf movie. if i look at it as just a movie, then yeah, i totally get what the critics are saying. it's so far from the lore of the original games (but since when has that not been a problem in the franchise lmao), the killer doesn't really have a clear motivation, and the ending does kind of come out of nowhere. but if i think of it as the fnaf movie i can actually love it. yes, it's far from the original lore. that's just how fnaf goes. yes, it is a glorified two hour lore dump. but could we want anything more from fnaf? it's literally infamous for the lore. sure, springtrap does kind of come out of nowhere. but the joy and whimsy experienced when he does show up is fucking amazing, actually. i don't care if it's a bad movie. it's the best viewing experience i've had in 2023.
